Valentines day is a day of love.

Valentines day is a day you can share a special night with someone. Valentine’s day is the day you can confess your love to the one you have been admiring from afar.

What better way to say I love you than a romantic candle lit dinner at Dostrece. We have put together a special menu for this special night. Dinner will include an appetizer, starter, main course, dessert and a bottle of wine for 25€ a person.

These past few days have been somewhat unbearable here in Barcelona. So cold that it’s almost snowed and that is not a common thing for Barca.

Dostrece, has some of the best remedies to keep warm. Our soup of the day is always warms you right up.  A cup of hot camomile tea with honey or maybe you want something to sooth the soul, a cup of Irish coffee always does the trick. The new dinner menu has plenty of choices that will warm you right up, like our risotto. We’ve even made a video so you can see how we make it or you can make it at home.

Near the back of the market, this place is an oasis from the tourist hell of Ramplas (easiest way to get there is to turn right on the street right before the market). The day menu isn’t very complicated but its cheap and was good on the three occasions we were there. Wine and beer was excellent. Service was friendly though a bit slow. Macbooks and Iphones everywhere but not too much irony. After dinner you can take the backstreets to avoid Ramplas, just watch out for the skateboards..

RaggaJungle

Our hotel was close by to Dostrece so we went back multiple times. Its an unpretentious bar and restaurant which has a relaxed atmosphere and cheap tasty cocktails.

Being a vegetarian, I find it challenging to find nice and tasty veg options in a non veg restaurant, and Dostrece was a great spot. The ambience was good and the staff were very helpful with their suggestions. Not to mention the food was tasty and fresh – my partner ordered their salt-baked fish and she loved it very much! And the veg dishes were just as delightful! We had a really great experience and would definitely go back again on our next visit!

This restaurant seemed to be visited by young travelling people, such as ourselves. The menu was good value: about 10 euros for a three course meal. On top of that, the food was delicious! The burger was one of the best I have tasted so far. Even the simple mixed salad was delicious. Definitely go here when you visit Barcelona!!
