Bucketball is one of those web games that’s so simple that it really shouldn’t be all that fun. but it is. well, fun may not be the best way to describe it. frustrating and addictive is probably more accurate. i just found myself wanting to beat each stinkin’ level. and then i’d see the next level and just had to beat it too. and so forth. ahhh!

i’m a huge fan of Relevant Magazine. it’s truly the only magazine i’ve ever subscribed to that i literally enjoy every single page of every issue. seriously. even the ads are great. sounds weird, i know … but it’s really an amazing read each month.

anyways … so today during lunch i was reading through one of my favorite parts of each issue called Slices. it’s basically just a collection of random, very short pieces about music, movies, news, etc. and one slice really stood out for me today called “America the Tolerant.” here she is …

According to a new survey by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, Americans are by and large tolerant of other religions. The survey, in which 35,000 individuals took part, found that seven out of 10 Americans believe that people of other faiths can get into heaven. In an earlier, affiliated study, Pew also found that 25 percent of adults in the United States no longer practice the faith they grew up with, and about 67 percent believe that the Bible is the “word of God.”

interesting, huh? kinda makes you go hmm, right? how do you respond to reading those stats? make you sad? not even surprised by them?

today’s source of fun to pass the time while you wait for the 5:00 whistle to blow is called Boombot. it’s a pretty clever little game where you use bombs to explode your robot dude to the exit on each level. oil barrels and boxes of TNT offer a bit of help along the way. all you do is left-click and hold to make a bomb, and then release to set it off.

i spent way too much time putting this together for you guys to laugh at … but believe me, i laughed a lot too. i just keep staring at these photos because so many look like the real thing. it’s cool to see how i’d look with a 50s hairdo. or as a black dude with a giant fro. and even as a chubby guy (i think that one is my favorite).

now some of you that have known me since high school probably quickly picked out one or two shots that immediately reminded you of my ugly years with the butt-cut and the fly-away mullet. right? yep, that was me for a few years. what? i’m from Georgia. redneck is in my blood.

now you’re gonna watch this video and think you totally wasted 6 minutes of your life. me? i totally disagree. why? because it’s a clip from an All Little People Western. yeah, you read that right. only little people. and they even rode shetland ponies throughout the movie. pretty stinkin’ awesome, huh?

i’m always amazed that gymnasts can do what they do and make it look so dang easy. in fact, gymnastics is one of my favorite events to watch during every Olympics. now i’m not sure if this chick is in Beijing this year, but she’s gotta be the best in the world. i mean, just look … she only has one leg and a foot for a head. awesome, huh?
