Swim

2010-07-19T21:25:00.000-07:00

Lovin' the Water!

We've done lots and lots and lots of swimming this summer. These are some of the days we went to Grandaddy & Grammy's (my parents) house.

Jumping with cousins Cassie, Anna, and Emma, and our good friend "Dan-Dan"..... as Laney & Lucy like to call her.

Jelly and Toast!

2010-07-18T16:22:00.000-07:00

Jelly & Toast

Jelly & toast has become a breakfast favorite. The only thing is they like the Jelly more than the toast. They lick all the jelly and ask for more. I have to explain you gotta eat the toast too!

These are two of their most favorite shirts to sleep in. They have every silky princess gown there is.... but these are their favorites.

Now, Lucy is wearing a dress at breakfast. She pulled this dress down from her closet every morning for about two weeks and insisted on wearing it around the house. Laney on the other hand, has no shirt on, which is what she insist on many mornings.

Little Ballerinas

Little Ballerinas

The girls are in such a dress up-liking stage, I decided to get a few pics of them wearing tutus. It is very common these days for us to be going anywhere and they have on tutus.

Swimming Ballerinas

These swimsuits were a birthday gift. The girls LOVE them.

They couldn't believe they could actually swim in a tutu. I must say, they are pretty cute running around and jumping in the pool with these on!

3rd Birthday

2010-07-04T22:09:00.000-07:00

Happy Happy Birthday Laney & Lucy

This year the girls had a carnival birthday party. One of Kyle's relatives had some old kiddie carnival rides at their house. It was perfect for this age group! Everyone had so much fun. It was equivalent to the fair for these kids except there were no lines or time limits on rides :)

Lucy

Notice the large red spot in the middle of her forehead? Five minutes into our arrival at the party she was playing and tripped over something. Her forehead caught the brunt of the fall. We had a bumpy start to the party, but within twenty minutes all was well! Although, I worried for the whole night!

Mother's Day

2010-06-23T22:54:00.000-07:00

Let's Go Fishing!

On Mother's Day, while we were at my parents' house, we somehow ended up fishing. Actually I just watched, I'm not much of a fisher. I went a few times as a kid, and that was more than enough. Laney and Lucy liked watching, and thinking they were fishing too.

(They had no hook on their poles.... them with hooks would be scary!)

I forgot my camera, so all these pics were taken with my sister's camera. My niece had it on some weird blue-looking setting. So I had to change them all to black and white to get rid of the blue-tinted pictures!

I hate that, because all the bright green in the pictures would've been really pretty. Oh well!

You get a line and I'll get a pole honey.....

Cassie caught one!

Trevor's Graduation

Trevor Graduates!

It seems just like yesterday that Trevor was in first grade and Kyle was driving him to school each day. Kyle made a deal with him that he would take him every day - due to Trevor wanting to quit school! Gladly he made it through 1st grade, and the next eleven years! Wow, time flies.

Celebration!

You're on your own.

And you know what you know.

You are the guy who'll decide where to go."

Egg Hunts & Easter

2010-04-20T22:20:00.000-07:00

Easter Weekend

Egg Hunt #1: Lawson & Lake's House

Try getting seven toddlers to cooperate for one picture!

Lawson is the same age as Laney & Lucy. They have an annual egg hunt each year. The girls really enjoy it because the majority of the kids are the same age as them. So there's no specially skilled egg hunters that run and snatch up all the eggs!

Egg Hunt #2: Grandaddy & Grammy's House

Easter Morning

Sleepyheads

Laney cooperated for pictures....

Lucy... not so much :)

If you notice, in most of the following pictures she is either wearing her white sweater or holding on to it. She refused to let go of it for any pictures, and it wasn't cool out at all.

Memaw & Daddy Mike

It's hard to get one family shot with everyone looking and no one crying!

This was the best of about four pics!

Plow Day

Plow Day

We went to the annual Plow Day for our county. This day was started a few years ago to "help preserve the farming heritage" of our county. (Farming is a major thing in West Tennessee.)

It's not really my cup of tea, but the girls had a fun time!

We registered, but didn't win :(

Memaw's already hit the campaign trail. Her blue shirts look great!

Tommy's sporting the "Vote Diane Moore" shirt too!

Kyle .... playing make believe on the big tractors.

They loved this little antique tractor. It was just the perfect size!

Playing at the Park

Picnic at the Park

During Spring Break we met up with some of our friends at the park for some fun playtime. We had a nice little picnic and everyone played hard! The girls were so wore out when we left!

Sometimes I think there's nothing better to a child than swinging! Just look at those happy faces.

Princesses & Crowns

My girls are really getting into playing dress-up. They love the princess dresses. Who doesn't like to put on a beautiful princess dress and hang out around the house? :)

Laney's wearing the blue Cinderella dress.

Lucy looks a little out of it in this pic, she's Snow White.

Our friend Reagan, she created this ensemble herself!

She's ready for a night on the town!

Spring Fever!

We Got The Fever!

This was one of the first really nice days we had this year in late February. It's one of those days that really get you in the mood for spring! After school, I picked up the girls and we headed straight to the park. I guess everyone else had the same idea, because it was pretty crowded when we first got there.

Snow Days

So Much Snow!

Lucy

I love this picture of Laney.

They loved seeing their footprints in the snow. They kept yelling it's my footprint!

Laney

Lucy

It snowed all day Friday! The girls played out in the snow and had so much fun. It was the first really big snow (big for where we live) they've gotten to enjoy.
It has been many years since we had this much snow.

Thanks for the Christmas Cards

THANK YOU!

Thanks for all the precious Christmas cards. We loved opening each and every one of them.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

We had a small "kid friendly" party for New Year's.

The kids had a lot of fun, and I guess the adults did too.

Abby playing with the girls. Laney insisted on wearing her red polka dot p.j. bottoms. She LOVES them! Lucy loves to wear a tutu. (You can see this from the pic.)

Cousins Tanner & Abby, Seaton, Laney & Lucy

Lucy got comfy too.

Christmas

Christmas Eve

We went to Uncle Brian and Aunt Tammy's for Christmas Eve with my family.

Kyle & Lucy unwrapping some presents.

Laney's first present she opened. She was so excited and didn't want to open any more.

Cousins Emma & Cassie

Notice one of the plates has a bite taken out of each of the cookies.

Laney loves junk food so very much..... she gets that from me.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds...

Max & Ruby!

Laney loved the Max and Ruby dolls.

Lucy's jammin' on her Dora guitar.

This is typical Lucy:)

After all the new stuff and excitement began to settle in, they wanted to get out their new playdoe.

All Dressed Up

All Dressed Up

Laney raided my closet and found lots of treasures.

Lucy also joined in and found a beautiful blue scarf.

Lucy put this ensemble together all by herself :)
