Getting the new Valentine's Day cards ready for the Utterly Engaged Party!

Yup, I'm still on my "employment break, but I have to admit that I have never been more swamped with work! I am truly blessed to have double-sidedtape.com as my freelance gig and it's been so good to me.

I've mainly been Twitter these days so that explains the lack of posts on the blog. I'll try my best to get back on track. If you don't already follow me on Twitter, do it now!

So this my sneak peek into what I'm currently working on right now. I've asked the girls at Utterly Engaged if I can donate some of my cards to the goodie bags for their upcoming New Year's party. Buy your tickets here, if you haven't already. This is such a great event for the newly engaged or if you love to party, these girls certainly know how to throw a shindig! I have 2 new designs that I'm introducing for Valentine's Day.

So, in a nutshell, things have been good. I'm blessed to have work and keep me occupied while I'm at home. I can't say it enough, but thank you for reading my little blog! Here's to a prosperous 2011 and to doing something creative everyday!

Puppy Party!

This weekend we celebrated my daughter Michaela's 4th Birthday. Yea, I can't believe she's 4 either! Michaela is totally in love with puppy dogs and I thought it would be cute to incorporate that into her birthday party.

I had a lot of inspiration from the blog world and I'm totally grateful for that! I can definitely execute the ideas, but sometimes I need a little help now and then.

Thanks to all of our friends and family who made it despite the rain. I wanted to share with you the fruits of our labor and show you why Michaela calls me the best mom ever :). Love you KK!!!

When my brother's friend Margie approached me about designing her baby boy Kobe's birth announcments, I couldn't resist. I initially designed it with blues and greens and when Margie emailed me that they wanted to change the color scheme to purple & gold, it all made sense. Gar and Margie happen to be the biggest Laker fans I know (besides my mom of course).

Catching Up :: Abbott Kinney Festival 2010

This year I got to go to the Abbott Kinney Festival and it was super fun. I love experiencing LA culture with all my favorite things in one place: handmade vendors, music & FOOD! Here are a few pictures from that day, which happened to be the hottest day of the year!

When I saw this picture, I was like YES! If I ever have another kiddo, I am definitely having them dress us like this.

Michaela is old enough to make her own decisions on her Halloween costume and she chose to be Minnie Mouse. As cute as that is, Princess Leia is waaaaaaay cuter (in my opinion). Hmmm... I think I may have found my costume... (giggle)

Eczema has always been a problem for me since I was a child. I always had the special creams and had to take steroids to control it. I'm sharing this with all of you because if you have a child with eczema, this is at least worth trying.

My dear friend Karen hasn't turned back since she used this with her first born. This is what she told me about Alyssa's battle.

Alyssa had pretty bad eczema since she was just a few months old. Her pediatrician had us try oatmeal baths, coat her skin with vaseline, and eventually put her on steroids. The steroids worked almost immediately, but because she was just an infant, I didn't want to have her on them for more than a few days at a time.

What I noticed was that as soon as I took her off the steroids, the eczema reappeared. I was finally introduced to the arbonne baby care line a few months ago, and quite frankly, I was amazed.

Within 4 days, I noticed that the dry, patchy skin was no longer raised and inflamed. About a week later, the eczema was almost all gone, leaving behind just some scarring from the 20 months of having it. She's been using the entire baby line for 5 months now, and her skin has never been softer.

The best part is that I know I'm putting a product without any chemicals, steroids, etc onto her skin.

This is her bathtime routine...
I put a few drops of the body oil into the bath water. I use the hair and body wash. Then after the bath, I mix the lotion with the oil together for her body.

I'm being inspired by Rachelle and her "Mom Mondays" over at Wiley Valentine. She recently gave birth to her first daughter Piper, and I can tell she's loving every minute of it! I enjoy reading about her cute finds & how she puts them together. Today's post is about stripes. I know. CUTE.

Motherhood is indeed a blessing. Michaela is almost 4 years old (I can't believe it either!) and I am constantly on the lookout for the latest and greatest for her.

So... I'm so happy to announce "Mommy Mondays"!
