1 How did popHDWR become alive?

It was a classic moment of faith and coincidence. Every year as a pro rider for Rome Snowboards I was obligated to participate in the ASR tradeshow in Las Vegas. For me it was a nice mid season brake to get in touch with all my sponsors, go through next years line, work on signature products, met all the reps and party!

One day at the 2007 tradeshow I was walking around, pretty drunk as usual, when i bumped into Dan Walfish(co-CEO). We started talking about this new idea he had for a headwear company. They way he presented the idea and his vision lighten a sparkle in my body. He told me about his dream of making a brand that was 100% true to actionsport and the lifestyle. The goal was to provide a high quality product with a classy design that would fit in any occasion. On slope and off slope.

I later got to know Brian Finn(co-CEO, Designer) and Max River(co-CEO, technician) and we formed popHDWR. From thereon the company, the brand and our friendship has grown bigger and bigger, always with the same mentality of staying true to our roots and why we all love sliding sideways.

popHDWR is a brand of visions that nothing is impossible. If you believe and want something bad enough nothing can stop you from achieving your goal. Determination and staying true to what you believe in is the key to success.

2 How do you pick out your team riders?

popHWDR is a brand of high quality, design and style. This is what I look for in a rider. When you join popHDWR you become a part of our family.

We are in this industry for the same reason and therefor we should all feel as much part of the company.

I want to have riders that are committed to the lifestyle and that truly love the sport.

Style and the riders personality is very important to me as he or she is what reflects the company.

As of now we have a very sick team rooster. For Norway we have likes of Stian Solberg(YES, RUSTY), Daniel Ek(FORUM, ROCKSTAR), Kim Rune Hansen(BURTON) and Torjus Thomassen(DC).

In Canada we have two up and coming sick shredders Maxence Parrot and David Jacques. Make sure to look out for these young rippers in the near future!

For Japan I am very stoked to have Takumi Yahamoto and Chihiro Wada join the family(:

The team is growing worldwide with a lot of sick riders. I am very happy with the way things are going.

I look forward meeting new riders that will blow my mind with their skills(:

metAL BBQ SESSION PARTYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

2011-07-25T15:38:00.000-07:00

Let the wild times begin. Unleash the fury of the party animal. Lock in your wife and your teens. The SESSION BBQ bash party was nothing less the a walk on the wild side.

The BBQ part of the party was at Geirs place! fun times hanging out with the Session Sarpsborg crew. the peeps that make the wheel go round. awesome group of people that love action sport and the joy it brings with it.

After BBQing, drinking and head banging to IN FLAMES we took the trip to the clubs and the city. lots of hot chicks and wild party peeps. the night was as fun as fun could get.

I brought the crew. or at least the ones that was left back to my crib for a little after party. ha ha! oh yes, afterparties are awesome. big fan of them. lets say we might have chugged a little to much of that Pisco i had brought back from a trip to Chile.

Lets just say we know how to throw a decent after party(:

Also unrevealed this treasure Geir was hiding! ha ha ha ha! way to go Geir. Tramp stamp of the year(;

Cant wait for the next SESSION summer party!

Cheers!

Romania!

2011-06-30T07:02:00.000-07:00

Romania is a pretty awesome country! It was the last country in Europe to loss its communist ruler-ship.

Romania rests in the Southeastern part of Europe, girdling the Black Sea between Ukraine and Bulgaria. It came into being when the two principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia broke the shackles of Turkish Ottoman suzerainty and merged, in 1859, to form a new land - ‘Romania’. Surrounded by Hungary and Serbia to the west, Ukraine and Moldova to the northeast and Bulgaria to the south, Romania is home to the striking Carpathian mountain ranges that pass through its heart. With its sun-kissed beaches, emerald forests, surrealistic history and medieval monuments, Romania remains a very popular tourist destination of Europe.

I had the pleasure going to Romania on a Rome Snowboards team trip filming for "No correct way".

It fun to get the feel of the real Romanian culture. we stayed with the family of the guy who owned the helicopter we used for our heli missions. in the start Romanians gave the feel of being stone cold people with no joy or pleasure in there lifes. but after getting to spend the night with them and sitting around the dinner table talking about the country and all the wolf stories, we got to see the real side of the people and how they really enjoy and love their country and their lives.

We also got the taste of wanting to live after battling some harsh weather, being lost in a wolf infested forest, close encounters with snowmobile accidents, involuntarily ending up partying in a gay club and other wild stuff. On a trip to Romania you have to be up for exploring the wild side of life!
