“Burnt Toast Vinyl and Lost in Ohio are proud to announce the first-ever vinyl pressing of Fall Sounds by Velour 100, due Fall 2026, in time for the album’s 30th anniversary.

In 1995 at Eastern Michigan University, two people made a record: Trey Many (drummer for 4AD’s His Name Is Alive) and Amon Krist (an art student and daughter of celebrated folk singer Jan Krist). Warren Defever recorded it, bringing the same atmospheric instincts that had made His Name Is Alive one of the most singular acts in the 4AD catalog. In 1996, Tooth & Nail released the result: Fall Sounds.

Comparisons were made to bands like Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, and Low, but were incomplete. Fall Sounds had something those records didn’t have, a folk-like earthiness beneath the shimmer. The songs move from the reverie of “Stare Into Light” through the gorgeous, sun-catching acoustic strum of “Evergreen,” to “Flourish,” the album’s most kinetic moment. The closer, “Dub Space,” runs over eight minutes of guitar fingerpicking and cymbal wash, landing like a long exhale.

The album lived for 30 years on CD and cassette, gathering a devoted following that described it in quiet superlatives, with an increasing demand for a vinyl release. In the fall of 2026, on the album’s 30th anniversary, the wait is over. This limited vinyl pressing was made in direct collaboration with Trey Many, who has gone on from Velour 100 to drum for Pedro the Lion, Starflyer 59 and Lo Tom. The album has been thoughtfully remixed by James McAlister (Sufjan Stevens, The National) and freshly remastered by Warren Defever himself, now a celebrated mastering engineer at Third Man in Detroit. Lacquers were cut by Lex van Coeverden in the Netherlands. A reimagned layout was provided by Jason71.

Pressed on Fall Sky Blue vinyl, while supplies last.”

Preorder from Burnt Toast Vinyl or Lost in Ohio now.

“A very limited new pressing of L.S. Underground’s beloved rock opera, on Ellis Blue smash vinyl. Pre-orders are live now, and shipping in July!

The Grape Prophet is one of the most distinctive rock operas to emerge from the early ’90s alternative underground. Released in 1992 on Knott’s own Blonde Vinyl Records, the album follows Ellis, an orange picker sent by his boss Colonel Peckesen to rescue his fellow workers from the pull of a charismatic cult leader known as the Grape Prophet, a thinly veiled allegory for events unfolding in the evangelical movement at the time. Dark, heavy, and almost uncomfortably earnest, it arrived just ahead of the grunge explosion and sounded like nothing else in Knott’s already eclectic catalog.

Lost in Ohio is proud to offer a very limited second pressing of the album, newly cut with clarity by Lex van Coeverden at The Vinyl Room. The artwork has been revised from the previous vinyl pressing to lean deeper into Knott’s stunning original paintings, and the record is pressed on Ellis Blue smash vinyl, a color drawn directly from the visual palette. The LP features the ten original album tracks, and includes a digital download of the full 2021 Deluxe Edition including its bonus acoustic recordings.

“Just ahead of btv’s 30th Anniversary, which happens this summer, we have 3 important new vinyl releases. Jetenderpaul’s The Woolen Spires has always been one of the favorite releases in the label’s history. This was originally a co-release with our good friends … Continued

“Just ahead of btv’s 30th Anniversary, which happens this summer, we have 3 important new vinyl releases.

Jetenderpaul’s The Woolen Spires has always been one of the favorite releases in the label’s history. This was originally a co-release with our good friends in Southern California, Velvet Blue Music. Now, so many years later, The Woolen Spires joins The Modal Lines on vinyl. Post-graduate indie pop, with influences ranging from Guided By Voices, The Apples In Stereo, Kleenex Girl Wonder, to Magnetic Fields. This was bedroom pop at its finest, recorded in bedrooms to a digital 8-track, beautifully lo-fi. On coke bottle green vinyl.

“Weird and wired without withholding the jams at the expense of some aloof artiness, The Woolen Spires is a mix-and-match, cut-and-paste affair of home recorded oddities and lo-fi rockers, the latter certain to get the toes tappin’ and the former serving to get the head a-scratchin’. These are perfect pop songs forever gone astray once they leave the boys’ heads and become ensconced on the recorder. Gems, all.”– Steve Brydges, The Copper Press

In the Summer of 2024, I went with Soporus to San Jose, Costa Rica. Soporus played two shows, the first with the excellent A su ladera and Carla Alforo. The second was the co-album release show for Adios Cometa (who have an excellent new record out from our friends at Steadfast Records) and Dylan Thomas. and Lentamente. I couldn’t get the songs out of my head and decided that these excellent shoegaze records should be pressed on vinyl.

Lentamente: Bienvenida. This album was originally released in October 2023, influenced by dream pop, post-punk, and shoegaze. The vinyl release has a single, “Sacré Coeur,” from 2024 added. I think you can hear some Cocteau Twins/ Robin Guthrie guitars and the catchy energy of The Radio Department. On strawberry milkshake vinyl in a first edition of 300 copies.

Dylan Thomas: Todo se desvanece. This album was released in the summer of 2024 and was influenced by Sonic Youth, Niños del Cerro, Whirr, Television, Smog, Women, King Krule, Rocketship, and Sparklehorse; as well as Graham Greene’s The Power and the Glory and detective novels by Paco Ignacio Taibo II and Leonardo Padura. There was mayhem in the 500+ crowd when Dylan Thomas. took to the stage. I think this has a jangle pop feel similar to The Pains of Being Pure At Heart or Ducks Ltd. On transparent green vinyl in a first edition of 300 copies.

This is new territory for btv with two albums in Spanish, but the music is universal. There are a couple of package deals if you buy both Jetenderpaul albums or buy all three Spring 2026 releases. We’re awaiting the Blue Rider to help us through some special releases later this year to celebrate our anniversary and these three are essential to the celebration.”

From Lo-Fidelity Records: “I’ve been putting records back into the world for a long time now. Some because I was asked to. Some because they were/are favorites of mine. And some because they never really left the people who heard … Continued

From Lo-Fidelity Records: “I’ve been putting records back into the world for a long time now. Some because I was asked to. Some because they were/are favorites of mine. And some because they never really left the people who heard them the first time.

Rocket and a Bomb fits all of these criteria.

This is Michael Knott at his most locked-in as a storyteller. It was not the loud, chaotic, full-band Knott most people expected. This was him writing about the strange, broken, funny, and very real people who surrounded him when he was living in Hollywood. Junkies. Neighbors. Lost souls. Friends. Himself. The whole thing plays like a stack of short films set to music. It’s messy, human, sometimes hilarious, sometimes brutal, and somehow still full of grace.

When this record appeared, it didn’t fit neatly anywhere. It wasn’t CCM. It wasn’t alternative rock in the way people wanted it packaged. It just existed in its own strange little orbit…and over the years it quietly became one of the Knott records people kept coming back to. The one they mentioned in emails. The one they asked about at shows. The one they didn’t forget.

So, let’s bring Rocket and a Bomb back properly.

Not as nostalgia. Not as a quick repress. But as a careful, fully-realized reissue for the people who’ve lived with this album for decades…and for the ones who are just now discovering how deep Michael’s catalog really goes.

If you already know this record, you know why it matters.
If you don’t, you’re about to find out.”

From Bill: “It’s the morning bell announcement to the Kickstarter campaign to render Glimmer in a 14 song CD format! (more new songs included in this rendering)

We know you’re busy, so I’ve made this a short 2 minute read. Glimmer is an album that I deeply believe in and I think needs to be heard in a more thoughtful setting via a more tactile format. So, it’s back story, the creative motivations behind it, the details and the rewards lists are here:

Glimmer ~ The new 14 song CD by Bill Mallonee
Some Songs About Faith, Love, Courage & Those Who Love Us Through Thick & Thin

I hope you’ll join us in this endeavor!”

And a release celebration on Feb 28.

Lost in Ohio is reissuing Aunt Bettys on vinyl for the first time, with a deluxe package that honors the album’s legacy. The original Tim Okamura paintings are lost, so renowned artist Stephen Cefalo created two brand-new 12×24 oil paintings inspired by the originals. The album has been freshly remastered by Christopher Colbert from the original tapes and pressed on 180-gram vinyl. Liner notes by Lara Noel Hill (the band’s A&R rep at Elektra) and never-before-seen photos complete the package. CD and cassette versions are also available, all featuring the same care and detail. This is the version the album deserved in 1996.”

From Lost in Ohio: “If The Julies’ last full-length announced a comeback, its follow-up takes the opportunity to look back. With their new album Cherisher, The Julies lean fully into reflection, memory, and meaning, delivering a deeply personal collection about holding on, about purpose. Its title functions as a tiny manifesto: an embrace of core truths and long-held passions, and of personal nostalgia without irony or apology.

‘I felt in constant threat of succumbing to the whirlpool of the socio-political intensities of the times,’ says singer Chris Newkirk. ‘To avoid being swallowed whole, I grabbed hold of the DNA-shaped truths of personal identity that took root and codified themselves in my youth.’

Recorded and produced by the band themselves, Cherisher moves fluidly between intimacy and release, drawing from shimmering post-punk urgency and ’90s shoegaze-influenced walls of sound. Mixed and mastered in London by James Aparicio (Depeche Mode, Spiritualized, Mogwai), the album treats memory as momentum—not about reliving the past, but conversing with it.”

“More than 30 years after its original release, The Julies’ earliest statement arrives on vinyl for the first time, featuring beautiful new artwork from design partner Sarah Fuchsia. Known to their earliest fans as “the blue tape,” January is the 1994 six-song cassette that set everything else in motion—noisy, dreamy, and unpolished in all the right ways. This is the document of a band before they knew what they were becoming. Pre-order it now, or get a bundle of Cherisher and January at a special low price!”

The band will play favorites from the album alongside other classic Bettys tracks, with original members Brian Doidge, Andrew Carter, and Chuck Cummings on stage. Joining them is local Orange County singer Ryan Lee Mead, sharing vocal duties with other “friends of the Bettys.”

Signed to Elektra in 1995 at the height of the alternative rock era, Aunt Bettys was Michael Knott’s shot at breaking into the mainstream. The “witty, decadent, catchy, assuredly rocking record” (Los Angeles Times) drew from Knott’s nights in Orange County dive bars, channeling the Stones’ swagger, Bowie’s glam edge, and the intensity of Jane’s Addiction. Despite winning a bidding war to sign the band, Elektra provided zero promotion, and the band dissolved within months of the album’s release.

Even so, the album lived on as one of the most celebrated releases of Knott’s career. Lost in Ohio has now brought it back with new artwork and a full remaster. Copies on vinyl, CD, and cassette will be available for purchase at the show, for those who missed the Kickstarter.”

“In 1977 British Poet / Songwriter Steve Scott signed a recording contract with Solid Rock Records and began recording two albums for the company. He assembled a top-notch band of well-known musicians and performers in the Christian music scene: Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill, Mark Heard, Tom Howard, Alex McDougall (Daniel Amos), and Jon “Wonderfingers” Linn. Both albums (Moving Pictures and Closeups) were completed, but before they could be mixed, mastered, and released, Solid Rock’s distribution company Word Records got cold feet because of Scott’s lyrics which touched sporadically on “crises of faith” and other legitimate questions that the faithful can occasionally have. There were moments of soul-searching buried in the albums’ tracks, questions that the stalwart distribution company didn’t want addressed.

The albums never got released so they sat in the Solid Rock archives for 47 years until they began to be reconsidered as the tour de force they were all along.

This is the intention of this Kickstarter campaign: To get these recordings mixed, mastered, and properly released to the world like they should have been long ago. Your pledges will help offset the cost of that process, including the studio expenditure of restoring the master analog tapes and transferring them to digital files, much of which has already been done. You can hear the pristine results in the video at the top of this page. A large chunk of change will be used to manufacture the gatefold double album on 180g vinyl, the full color inserts, the record mailers, as well as the CD versions of the albums.”
