Gossip Girl - Designers Guest Star

Spotted: Tory Burch and Georgina Chapman filming cameos this week for the upcoming season of “Gossip Girl.”

The designers trekked to Silvercup Studios in Long Island City, N.Y., where they shot separate scenes for an episode that will air Oct. 5. While reps for the hit series are keeping their lips sealed about how Burch and Chapman figure into the plot, they did reveal that part of the show will take place on a set made to look like Burch’s office.

Although both designers frequently run into socially active cast members Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Taylor Momsen and Ed Westwick on the New York party circuit, they seemed to enjoy working with the stars in an official capacity. “I am a huge fan [of 'Gossip Girl'],” said Chapman, who has also appeared in Weinstein Co. films “The Nanny Diaries” and “Factory Girl. Still, the Marchesa designer admitted, “I was very nervous [on-set].”

This isn’t the first time “Gossip Girl” has tapped real-life members of the fashion flock to appear on-screen — Nacho Figueras shot scenes in Greenwich earlier this summer for the show’s Sept. 14 season premiere, and Tinsley Mortimer had a guest spot last year.

The character that she plays on CW hit Gossip Girl
may be a naughty girl, but Leighton Meester said that the circulating sex tape featuring her and an unidentified partner is “not real.”

“It isnot real, so it makes me sort of sad. It’s unfortunate that it got carried as far as it did,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “People think it’s real because somebody says it is.”

The 23-year-old actress who plays Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl
added that the incidence merely illustrated one of the downsides of fame. “I definitely understand the nature of people better now and that the mere allegation of something like that could be headline news.

“[I don't] want most of what comes along with all of this,” she said.

Meester said that in contrast to the bad girl Blair Waldorf, she is in reality a good girl. “I’ve never been crazy. I’m a very good girl, to be honest,” she said. “I don’t do anything to hurt anybody. Honestly, all I ever do is work.”

TMZ claimed in June that a company was shopping a scandalous, X-rated video from a few years back that featured a younger Gossip Girl
star performing a striptease for her then boyfriend.

In the same interview with the magazine, which features her on the cover, she also revealed that she endured walking for a mile in a pair of Marc Jacobs red leather slingbacks prior to snagging the role of Blair Waldorf on the series.

“In my heart, I could picture myself wearing them living in New York,” she said. “So I wore them to the audition and got the part. I can’t give them away because every time I wear them, I’m living that dream.”

Try, Try Again: Although “Lily” died aborning, that doesn’t mean the CW wouldn’t give some other Gossip Girl spinoff another go. Ostroff says, “If [executive producers] Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage would be open to it, of course we’d be open to it. There is a spinoff actually of the book series which is called The It Girl, and we’ve explored that with them. It’s been harder to find how you make that a world that’s well-rounded enough for us, because it takes place at a boarding school, and it’s very insular.”
