‘Weeds’ Star Kevin Nealon Presents the Funniest Commercials of the Year Special

Comic actor Kevin Nealon, who stars as Doug Wilson on the Showtime series Weeds, returns to host the sixth annual Funniest Commercials of the Year Special on TBS. The one-hour special, which premieres on Tuesday, December 15 at 10pm ET/PT, will feature 50 different commercials from all over the word many of which will be seen for the first time on American television.

A familiar face to television viewers, Kevin Nealon has garnered an Emmy nomination for his writing on Saturday Night Live where he also played numerous memorable characters from 1986 to 1995. He’s done his fair share of movie projects including Aliens in the Attic, Get Smart, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, Anger Management and Daddy Day Care, but is currently focusing on the small screen with as a popular fixture of Weeds as well as the title character’s voice in the Nickelodeon animated series Glenn Martin DDS.

Aside from Kevin Nealon serving as host, the sixth annual Funniest Commercials of the Year Special will feature cameo appearances to be announced later.

As expected, viewers are invited to go online to the network’s website to watch and vote on their favorites from a list of 10 finalists. Weeds: Mary-Louise Parker: My Kids Aren’t Going Into the ‘Biz’

As a pot-dealing mom on Weeds, Mary-Louise Parker’s character is faced with a variety of ethical dilemmas. But luckily for Mary-Louise’s children, off-screen, the mom of two knows right from wrong.

“My character’s the worst parent, but I guess she’s doing the best she can with what she has,” Mary-Louise tells new magazine Observer Playground.

“It’s not an example to follow, I can say that much.”

Single mom to William Atticus, 5 ½, with ex Billy Crudup and Caroline ‘Ash’ Aberash, 3, adopted in 2007, Mary-Louise knows her priorities rest with family first, before work and even dating.

“Even though I would love to have dinner with this person or this person, it’s not as important to me as putting my kids to bed,” she says.

Though linked with actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan earlier this year, the actress is now single, and focused on her children first.

Though Mary-Louise began her acting career as a teen, she hopes her children won’t follow in her footsteps — at least for now.

“They aren’t going into any ‘biz’ while they’re children,” she says. “Show business is still a business and those children are still working, essentially. I believe in working, but not working when you’re a child!”

Andy is engaged! Sort of!

A Nancy is heading to the police station to track down Esteban, she’s stopped by Andy, who jumps into her limo anbd says he wants to propose to Audra - and he wants to do it with his mother’s ring, which Jonah had given Nancy.

Nancy is taken aback by this request and she and Andy proceed to argue vehemently at the station, as Cesar tries to track down Esteban. The pair end up taking a magazine quiz about their definitions of love, and it was very nice to see Nancy finally question how true her feelings for Esteban were. Andy, conversely, seems convinced that his love for Audra is real. After the quiz results are in, and Nancy still seems hesitant to give Andy the ring, he lets her have it…

He says she’s selfish; that she’s chosen this life for herself and not for her family; that she’s looking for her drug lord of a husband and not looking after her kids. It was a powerful, great speech and it clearly affected Nancy.

She would also be affected by the eventual news that Esteban was released four hours ago. When Nancy and Andy return home - and Nancy does give Andy her blessing, after all - they see Esteban on TV. He’s giving a speech in Spanish and is back on the ticket with Pilar.

In other storyline news:

- Dean, Doug and Isabelle set up Celia to think that a cop is following her (it’s really Dean in black face);

- Silas and Shane save Esteban’s daughter, who was passed out from drinking and going heroine, from two of her friends that wanted to have their way with her.
