Deaf Radio: Return with a New Single and New Album Announcement

Deaf Radio from Athens, return with Big Mistakes, a guitar-driven outburst against absurd standards, flirting with the band’s earliest sonic identity. The new single also marks the first announcement of the quartet’s upcoming discography comeback, expected in 2026 with their fourth full-length album.

The band:
“Three years after our last release, we’re back with Big Mistakes, the first glimpse of our new record. Right now, we’re going back to guitars—not out of nostalgia, but because we instinctively needed something direct and straightforward, away from the intensity of our early years and the electronic explorations of the previous album.
Big Mistakes repeats again and again—ironically and obsessively. It’s not a song about guilt; it’s a reminder of how easily we fall into blaming ourselves for not reaching goals imposed on us or goals we’ve been conditioned to take for granted. The track is about refusing to play that game.”

The track—along with the upcoming album—was produced by the band and Chris Vlachos at Eightyard Studios. Vlachos also handled the mixing, while the mastering was done at Sweetspot Productions by Yiannis Christodoulatos. The Big Mistakes artwork was created by Kerarh Creative Studio.

Deaf Radio also return to the stage in Athens, performing at Gazarte Ground Stage on Saturday, December 20. After a run that saw them conquer major stages across Greece and Europe, the quartet will play their final big show of the year—closing one chapter and opening the next—with a full set of their most iconic tracks plus a first taste of their new material.

Universe217: New Track and Video from the Upcoming Album

Athenian doom outfit Universe217 has just released the first track from their forthcoming record. Staying true to the band’s signature sound, “Wrong” has been a staple of their live sets in recent years, but is now being made available digitally for the first time.

The video features the performance “Her White Space”, conceived and art-directed by Fanis Sakellariou, with the participation of Ioni Moschovakou. Cinematography was handled by LocalStage and NaPaN, and the shoot took place at Studio Koukos.

The track was produced by the band themselves, while George Bokos was responsible for mixing and mastering.

Universe217 are scheduled to perform live on Saturday, November 29, at Wail of the Banshees, held at Gazarte Ground Stage in Athens, alongside Allochiria, Church of the Sea, Ninkasi, and Breakeven.

Nothing Thrives, the garage/punk/rock'n'roll quartet from Athens, Greece have just released digitally their brand new album "Tales of Disgrace". The album will also be available on vinyl by Ouga Booga and the Mighty Oug Recordings.

Tales of Disgrace is a great specimen of punk rock'n'roll in the same spirit like Hellacopters, Turbonegro, Misfits, Motörhead and Black Flag. The members of the band have been active in the local heavy underground scene for years and this somehow explains the maturity of the release.

Kaijuju is a relatively new heavy quartet from Athens/Greece consisted of members with prior "service" in known bands of the greek punk & hardcore scene. (Alex, bass on Youth Crasher / Orfeas, vocals on Wish Upon a Star).
Their sound is a mix of various influences mainly from metal, death, hardcore and punk, with themselves describing it as "chug rock".

"Death All Over" is their first single/video of several others to come in the near future. Its anti-war lyrics have an obvious inspiration which is directly connected with the current events on the wars taking place at the moment and at the same time they state an obvious message which is as diachronic and timeless as war itself.

This is nowhere have just released their fourth LP, Waiver (2024) on Ouga Booga and the Mighty Oug! This is Nowhere is a five-piece band from Salonica, Greece, known for their genre-blending sound that spans noise, blues, experimental, and psych rock.

While still hallucinatory, Waiver (2024) sounds like band's most extroverted album to date. In this album, This is Nowhere change tact, making their way back into the earth’s atmosphere. They retain many aspects of their expansive, doom-inspired psych, while evolving toward a more pronounced vision of where experimental rock can be taken. Waiver highlights their unique style and succeeds in showing an expanded understanding of the band.
Since their formation in 2009, they have evolved their style to include elements of dub and shoegaze, enriched with layers of bass and atmospheric effects. As they moved towards colder soundscapes, they introduced synths and theremins into their work, reflecting a diverse range of influences in a minimalistic style. The band continues to explore the post-hardcore spectrum, and their latest recordings further showcase their innovative approach.
