Well, I myself have a story to add to the numerous collection of fishing stories.

Back in Sydney, my Granddad and I would go fishing. We'd wake up around 4, and drive over to a beach called Balmoral. At Balmoral, there was this really nice jetty, and we'd set up with our chairs, bait and tackle and get to business.

This time, was actually my first time fishing, and so as you can imagine, I was pretty excited. My Granddad had just bought me a new rod, and wheel, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Well, this day, happened to be a very windy day. As I went to cast off, a giant wind blew towards me, sending my line flying backwards! It then wraps around a light-post a couple of times, before flying left over to the next jetty. Here, it gets tangled in a fence, then a chair, before finally dropping down through the gaps in the jetty, and into the water.

My Granddad and I just stood there looking at each other. Obviously, I was going to have to work on my cast!

We started un-tangling the mess. I started to unwrap the line from the light-post, whilst my Granddad when to find where the other end had landed.

"Josh, quick! Come have a look at this!" my Granddad yells to me. I dropped my rod, and ran over to my Granddad. He lifted up my line to show that their was a fish on the other end. After all that madness, I had caught my first fish!!!

The fish I had caught was called a leather-jacket, being named after it's thick, rubbery skin, which unlike the normal scales fish have, would peel off. Kinda like a leather-jacket! (HERPY DERP DERP).

Once we got home, my mum cooked it up for me, and till this day, it is still the nicest fish I have eaten.

So, believe it or not, that was the story of how I caught my first fish.

Talk time with Dowsey | Limbo: Part 2: Get Owned Spider!

In a bit of a dilemma...

Ok, so I'm in a bit of a pickle on what to with my upload schedule.

I want to upload so many different video series, but I cannot do so unless I upload multiple videos a day.

I know that majority of my subscribers (or at least the ones that bother to leave a comment) express their love for my minecraft videos, but I don't want to limit myself to only one type of video. I'm sure if you're subscribed to me, you'll notice that I upload a massive variety of gameplays and commentaries.

I've seen a lot of big youtubers upload lots of minecraft, and then when they have expressed even the slight hint of not doing so, had chunks of their subscriber base become enraged, and even unsubscribe. I myself, never want to put myself in that sort of situation ever.

Currently, the videos series that I have going are: Dowsey's Minecraft Adventures, Deadspace 1, Counter Strike, Let's Talk with Dowsey / Limbo, Black Ops, Portal 2 with Cheddar Chezz, Survival Island (Minecraft), and Paradox Minecraft Custom Map and Starcraft with Tyler. That's 9 series, and there are plenty more that I'd like to do + do do for other channels.

So, I ask you, what do you want me to do?

Would you like to see me do what I want to do, and just upload on a 9 day schedule. Would you like to see multiple videos a day, do you think that I'm just doing too much and should scrap some series?

I'm really torn... My mum, suggested that I just start up another channel for my "extra minecraft series (or other series", but I'm not sure this will solve too many problems. I also have to remember that I'm going back to college in 3 weeks, and my schedule will be a lot more busy.

So, please leave me a comment, or msg me some way or another on what you think I should do, because I really need some opinions from other people.

For example, if this was my dad, he'd be playing golf with his boss.

Myself? I'm playing a bit of Call of Duty with one of my favorite commentators.

What ever it is, there are some universal rules that apply.

My dad, and his boss, let's call him Bob, are on the 1st hole. Bob is always boasting at work about how good of a golfer he is. My dad, being the absolute gentleman he is, let's Bob take the first shot. Bob hits it, and unfortunately, hits it straight into the rough, about 76m down the fairway.

Now my dad, he plays golf quite often. He's no Tiger Woods, but he knows how to hit the ball. What does he do?

At the same time, I'm in my room, playing some Call of Duty with 402Thunder402. For those who don't know, Thunder allows me to upload a Minecraft series to his channel. So really, in one way, he's my boss.

I've joined his game in session, and get put on the opposite team. Thunder advises me to "rage quit" due to the fact there are 2 sets of split-screeners, but I'm not having it. I will beat the Legendary Thunder!

The game starts off, and Thunder is raping. My 2bar connection obviously doesn't help, but there was no way my team was coming back. About halfway through the match, I see an enemy shooting my teammate. It turns out to be Thunder. What do I do?

Well my dad, knowing full well how the boss is always boasting about his golfing abilities, mishits the ball and also sends it flying into the rough.

But why would he do this?

I on the other hand, shoot Thunder in the head, and listen to him rage about being killed 1 kill away from dogs, watch him rage quit the game and party, and delete me off of his friends list.

Though they may not seem it, both my dad's situation and mine are pretty similar. We both happen to be sharing an activity with our boss, and we both have the responsibility of making our boss' look good. I have to make quality content for Thunder, or other wise he'll loose reputation, and the same goes for my dad.

However, the way we handled our situations were completely different. My dad, knowing he could easily hit the ball onto the green, decides to also mishit the ball, to make his boss look good. Whereas I ruin my boss' gameplay, and suffer for it.

Luckily for me, Thunder wasn't too mad. I'm off of his friends list for a week, but it's not like I'm not his worse enemy. In fact, nothing has really changed. My dad however, could of really messed things up. Bob, this amazing golfer was beaten. He'd be the laughing stock of the office. How would he be able to show up and face my dad again?

The lesson here is, always make the boss look good. It may not seem right, and 9/10 times I'd probably kill Thunder by mistake, but when you make the boss look good, he takes a liking to you, and he will help you, help him, rise to great places.

You see, a lot of people think the real world and the gaming world are two completely different things. But when you start looking at things from a different point of view, you see they are the same.

Did I care that I had so few? Yeah, I did. I'd been going at it for the best part of a year, and I didn't see to many results for my hard work (and it was hard, just one Minecraft episode required about 8hrs of work!).

But, I loved what I had. My subscribers had been great. They always left support, gave a little critizm every now and again, and really made my day!

I've not always been xDowsey. Back in February 2010, I started a YouTube account called ViiP3RzHD. My first video was a flawless nuke on Rust, MW2. My commentary was awkward! I ended this account in October though, as it had become a sniper fanboy channel... I uploaded one to many 1v1s...

And so, I started up xDowsey, some of my subscribers made the transfer. I had 200 on ViiP3RzHD, and I think 10-20 subscribed to xDowsey. Active subs FTW =/

Like most other youtubers, it took me a long time to reach 100 subs. One of the major turning points was when the ascension map pack came out on Black Ops. My self and The10xKiller got the map packs as early as possible, and did a zombies series called Ascension Virgins. People loved it, and it boosted myself up about 100.

Something I never ever expected happened on the 1st of June. 402Thunder402, better known as ThunderStruck decided to upload a Minecraft episode of mine, to his main channel!
My usual audience of 400 was nothing compared to the 74,000 he offered me, and I was so excited!
That day, my subscriber base doubled, and I went over 1k that week!

The rate that I gain another subscriber has significantly slowed down. It took me these last 2 months to get the extra 200 subscribers to become "1337", and honestly, these last 2 months have probably been the most fun I've had on YouTube!

I always have this rule, and I am quite strict with it. If I don't like the video, I won't post it. Now, to through some more punch into that rule, I am an OCD perfectionist. SO, if a video is even a tiny bit out, I'll try and edit it right, or scrap it.

(AND YOU WONDER HOW I MANAGE TO POST ALMOST DAILY)

I guess my problem is that I haven't felt myself lately. I've felt quite down, a bit on the depressed side. (but not in a serious way) So any time I've attempted to record a video, I haven't been my normal, high energy self, meaning I've scrapped the video...

So, I decided to take a break. I went out 2 days in a row, and stayed as far away from my computer as possible. I went out, saw Super 8, went to a festival, all that good stuff.
Today, came to attempting to make a video, and I made a really nice 30min long Happy Wheels let's play. Went to render it, and BOOM!
NO AUDIO!

I finally had gathered up enough momentum to make a video, and I just got pooped in the face.

And so I rage quit the internet, and went and did something else. I was "attempting" to clear my mind. Cam back about an hour later, and tried to record a Counter Strike video...
Fraps stuffed up.

SOOOOOOO.....

If you're wondering WHY I haven't had a video out, now you know.

KTHXBYE!

Being swarmed by flies.

2 weeks ago, my dad told the family he wanted to implement a work system.

Every morning, from 10-12 we would all do some sort of work to our house to make it look nicer. A reasonable idea (Especially as my dad had some time off work)

Of course, my brothers and sisters were opposed to this idea. They didn’t want to be doing any sort of work during the summer holidays. I actually thought this would be a great idea. It was only 2hrs a morning, and would give me something to do…..

The first week of this went fine. We cleaned out our basement, set up a dart board, painted up the stairs and the walls on the first and second landing. The house was looking bit by bit better, and there wasn’t really anything to coming about.

Until today.

I woke up today, not feeling my normal happy self, to be honest, I felt kinda depressed. 10’o clock came, and dad announced he was going up stairs to paint. About 20 minutes passed, and I decided to go up stairs to see what was going on. He eventually told me to get the other kids, which I did. Whilst waiting for my sister Kiyana to come up, I went into my room to tease our cats with ny laser pointer.

Apparently though, dad was getting annoyed by the lack people showing up. He called for me, inquired where I’d been, and ended up banning us from our electronics for the day for “Not being ready”. Obviously, this put us in a great mood to work…

I got on with what I was asked to do, not really in a good mood though (can you blame me?). About an hour later, I finished one of my jobs and went back into my room to play with the cats (thinking I’d be called when I was needed). Dad did up calling for, and when he found out I’d been sitting in my room, got angry telling me “to do whatever I want to do, he can’t be bothered talking to me”.

So, here I am, sitting on a bench in our local park, being swarmed by flies, and writing about the last few hours of my life. My sister is trying to call me, and I’m not answering.
I know that I’m completely in the wrong, but I don’t want to go back.

Hello people who happen to have stumbled upon my empty blog.

My name, on the internet, is Dowsey. But, in real life I’m known as Joshua Dowse.

To be completely honest, my life isn’t that interesting.

I spent too much time up in my room, playing video games, or doing random things on the internet. Last year, in the midst of being a total loner, I decided to start recording games of Call of Duty, talking over them, and posting them to YouTube.

Now days, I’m doing the exact same thing, but there is 1,300 people on the other side watching them.

I wouldn’t say my life has always been so dull.
Before 2008, I lived in Australia.

I used to be a very keen Scout, going out and hiking, camping and the lot quite often. I’d always be outside, riding around and enjoying life.

But, on the 8th of March, 2008, my family and I moved to the UK. This was an extremely hard time for me. I hated it. I was shell shocked, locked up in my room, hiding away from the world.

It took about 2-5 months for me to actually make contact. At the time, I was home educated, meaning I was schooled at home. A lot of people link this to being anti-social, and I’d have to say, up until now, the last 14 years of being home educated, I’d been a little social bird. But, moving to the UK completely changed me.

My first 2 friends were a couple of fellows were Jonny and Ben. When I first met the, they were damaging Ben’s bike by throwing rocks at it. Apparently Ben was selling it to a friend for £20, so he thought’d be funny to damage it. Weird.

Ben and I never really got a long. He was a half Italian, master at sport, and when Jonny and I started to get on quite well, it seemed he felt threatened. And so, he took to bulling me. This obviously aided me in recovering from my shell shock, and gave me the confidence I needed to get back on my 2 feet.

NOT!

To make things worse, my next door neighbour decided to also bully me. Not just my self but the rest of my family. We always felt threatened to go outside, and it got to the point where they started yelling death threats.

Now, I should say now that it turns out this family was also under heavy bulling, and so turned on us, but, it wasn’t appreciated

Since, we have moved away, and I’ve started getting my life together. YouTube probably has been a massive aid in helping get through this. It’s given me something to do, and something to work on. I’m still quite far from being back on track, but, I’m a lot more stable today then I was 2 years ago.

So, now you know a little more about me, how about a hug?
