It is usually found as an orange button that looks like the icon seen     next to this paragraph or the letters<strong> RSS</strong>. Sometimes     you have to search to find the button on the website. However, you  will    often easily find it in on the right of the web address window  on the    toolbar of your browser. </p>
<p><a href="https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=reader&amp;passive=1209600&amp;continue=http://www.google.com/reader&amp;followup=http://www.google.com/reader">Google Reader</a> is a free, web-based aggregator that allows you to keep up with your     favorite websites in one place and is as easy as checking your email or  <strong>Twitter</strong>.  <strong>Google Reader</strong> constantly  checks your favorite news sites and blogs for new content so  you don't  have to. This is one way that busy marketing professionals  manage <strong>information overload</strong> with the <strong><em>'firehose</em>'</strong> of information available on the web.</p>

<p>4.  <strong>Subscribe to 5 new blogs</strong> from the Top 50  Marketing Blogs of 2011 and What Blogs Should You be Reading And Who  Should You Follow On Social Media list above that you find interesting.  Using your <strong>RSS icon/button</strong> and add to your <strong>Google Reader.  </strong>Try to pick some from each category so you get a variety of great ideas, perspectives, and content.</p>
<p><strong>5. Find &amp; Follow</strong> - Find &amp; Follow the Twitter userids and G+ profiles for the 5 new blogs (people / organizations) you are following.<strong />  These links / userids are often listed right on the blog or have the Twitter icon to click on.</p>
<p>6.  <strong>Add to your Twitter list and Create a G+ Circle</strong> - add the 5 new people that you are following to your <strong>"Social Media Pros"</strong> list you create.</p>
<p>7. <strong> Tweet &amp; G+ - Pos</strong>t a Tweet and on G+ to the  class recommending   they follow these 5 new people and explain why.  Include the #NewhouseSM6   Hashtag in your Tweet and the individual  Twitter usderids with the   @symbol and +with name. (You cannot use the  same 5 people as other students)</p>
<p>8. <strong>Tweet/Link - </strong>Post a Tweet and to G+ with a link  to the   homepage or a post from one of the 5 new blogs you are  subscribing to. Include the #NewhouseSM6 Hashtag in your Tweet and G+  post.</p>
<p>9.  <strong>RT - Retweet to Twitter &amp; G+</strong> one of the  posts from a different    Marketing  Pro that you follow that you found  interesting.  Be sure to    include  their Twitter userid with the  @symbol and to give them credit.    Include the  #NewhouseSM6 Hashtag in  your Tweet.</p>
<p>10. Reply - @reply on Twitter &amp; G+ - to a different marketing pro    that  you  follow and who follows you and thank them for something  that   they  shared  that you find interesting. Tell them why? Include  the   #NewhouseSM6  Hashtag in your Tweet.</p>
<p>11. <strong>Post a Comment on a Blog</strong> - Post a comment on one of the most recent posts from one of the new blogs you are following that you find interesting.</p>
<p>You can post comments on any blog that has comments enabled. Some are    posted immediately and some are reviewed before posting. The location    of the comments is located just below the blog post and usually  require   you to sign in to prevent spamming and verify your identity.  Use your <strong>Twitter UserId</strong> to sign in for the comments if given the option.</p>

<p><strong>Team Teaching Presentation 1 (25%)</strong>:  Students individuall or in small     teams will design, implement, and present a multi-media ‘deep dive’     presentation to teach the class on some aspect of the social media theory and practice. Team teaching will be 30 minute multi-media presentations     followed by 10 minute discussion. </p>
<p>Examples of Presentation subjects include but are not limited to: social media theory as applied to students thesis project, dissertation, or research articles, social media policy, social commerce, social media ROI/Metrics, social  media organizational models, social crowdsourcing, social startups, case  study of integrated digital &amp; social media best   practice, an in-depth   analysis of a particular digital tool, social   media platform, or   application, or a look at a new digital or social   media innovation, etc. Examples: Augmented Reality, geo-location, QR  codes, NFC, etc.</p>

<p>Students will work individually or divide into teams of 2-3. Each individual or team will create a name   for the team (be professional) and create a team member contact list and   project document using Google Docs.</p>
