From time to time, I would experience temporary excruciating incapacitating lower back pain. Now, as I turned 80 it takes months of rest to recover. This lower back pain even affected my ability to walk long distances. As I desire to stay, physically active I have tried, unsuccessfully, almost every possible treatment with the exception of surgery.

It was either living the rest of my life with this lower back pain or trying something new in which I did not know anyone that had tried this new treatment.

Following up on an ad in the paper, I went to Dr. Robert Boydston and agreed to try this new procedure called Spinal Decompression. After about four or five sessions I felt about 75% improved. After I completed the entire series of treatments, I was able to get back into almost full activity and even can work in my shop again.

From time to time when I get a setback, I would go in and get another treatment and I’d be fine for several months. I’m not saying that this treatment is good for every back problem but I can only tell you that for my lower back it has worked wonders.

You are not alone. If you suffer with sever back pain, sciatica, or a herniated disc then there is hope. Spinal Decompression is a fairly new back pain technology that is helping thousands and thousands throughout the world.

In reality, it is the only non-surgical technology that is designed to treat and repair the lumbar discs. It works fantastically for herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, and sciatica.

The question that doesn't get asked enough is how did these back problems develop in the first place? What is the mechanism? This is an easy question to answer if you developed sciatica or leg pain after an accident or trauma. What if it just slowly developed over time?

It is a known anatomical fact that the disc's do not have a direct blood supply. As your spine moves it pushes fluid in and out of the discs, through a pumping process called imbibition. When a section of the spine loses normal movement...the disc will dry out. This is the start of the process that leads to degeneration, bulging, and herniations of the discs. But what causes areas of the spine to lose motion?

One of the most overlooked causes of spinal problems is from the brain. Your cerebellum, which is the very back of your brain. If you were to put your hand on the back of your head...just above your neck, your hand would be on your cerebellum. Your cerebellum is the part of your brain that controls all your spinal postural muscles...the ones that move your spine.

If your cerebellum is not working properly...the muscles in the back spasm, causing the joints in the spine to lock up. This will cause the spine to lose proper motion...setting you up for disc problems.

We check this in our patients and include cerebellar rehabilitation as part of our treatment programs. We have treated patients who have previously had minimal results with the DRX9000 when used alone, and included the cerebellar rehabilitation...and it made all the difference in the world! Your cerebellum has to be working properly for your spine and low back to work properly.

Spinal decompression is a great tool...in my opinion, the best tool for the non-surgical treatment of back conditions. The truth is...many times, success is dependent on doing the proper rehab, along with the DRX9000 decompression treatment. In our treatment programs we include cerebellar rehab with our Boydston Brain Based Rehabilitation, the ATM2 Back Machine, muscle stim, and heat...along with a post-treatment core stability program. Missing a step could mean the difference between success and failure.

A situation I encounter every single day, is a disc herniation sufferer that feels they have exhausted their non-surgical options. They have been through multiple rounds of physical therapy and multiple epidural injections with little relief. Now What?

The most disturbing part is when the orthopedist tells them..."it is not bad enough to operate YET, we'll wait until it gets worse before we do the back surgery."

If I was the patient...this would seem a little ludicrous to me. Wait until it gets bad enough to operate...seriously?

I understand back surgery is scary...and in some cases it's absolutely necessary. But with new non-surgical interventions like the DRX9000 Spinal Decompression System...back surgery should never be considered before exhausting every conservative option. This now must includes Spinal Decompression.

The DRX9000 is engineered to non-surgically repair lumbar discs. It slowly and precisely separates the lumbar vertebrae, creating a negative pressure inside the herniated disc. This pressure acts as a vacuum...slowly pulling the herniated disc material back inside the disc.

Spinal Decompression is a perfect fit for herniated disc sufferer's. The treatment is extremely comfortable...some patients even nap during their treatment sessions.

So if you have a herniated disc you should consider non-surgical spinal decompression with the DRX9000. It doesn't make sense to wait until your problem is bad enough to operate...fix it non-surgically NOW.

Do you have a herniated disc, and would like to see if the DRX9000 can help you? You may have moved suddenly and felt the shooting pain down your leg...or you may have developed the disc herniation slowly overtime. However it happened for you...you eventually found yourself in an MRI center to see what was causing the radiating leg pain.

Getting the news that you have a bulging or herniated disc is scary. As soon as your doctor starts using the surgery word...it immediately elicits emotional gut reactions. Everyone knows or has heard of someone who had back surgery and was never the same after. I don't blame a person for fearing surgery...it is serious business.

That is why we use the DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Machine. The DRX9000 slowly separates the vertebrae, between the herniated disc. This creates a negative pressure inside the disc, creating a vacuum...that sucks the herniated disc material back into the center of the disc. I have a video at the Boydston Institute website that shows how the DRX9000 Spinal Decompression machine works.

We are Fresno and Clovis' leader in the non-surgical treatment of herniated discs. Surgery should never be considered until non-surgical options are exhausted. The DRX9000 was created specifically to fix lumbar herniated discs. It is a painless procedure that is highly effective for the right patient.

We have perfected our herniated disc protocols over the years. There is a lot of skill involved in properly harnessing and positioning a herniated disc patient. Not all spinal decompression doctors are the same.

If you have a herniated lumbar disc and want to avoid surgery...then you should consult with someone experienced with your problem. A spinal decompression doctor who deals with herniated discs day in and day out.

They have tried exercise, have been to the physical therapist for 10 rounds of physical therapy, they get massages, they see a chiropractor...you name it, they've done it...and still suffer with pain.

Most back pain originates from the facet joints in the lumbar spine and from the lumbar discs. In facet syndrome, the joints in the back become locked...and wear out unevenly. This causes pain with each movement you make...because they'reinflamed and don't move properly.

The discs are the fibrous cartilage that sits in between each bone in the spine. They act as shock absorbers and help cushion every movement you make. As discs get compressed from muscle spasms, abnormal spinal movement, or from strenuous physical activity...the discs begin to wear out and begin to cause pain.

The problem with most of the traditional therapies you may have tried, is that they don't address the root cause...the discs and facet joints. Spinal Decompression with the DRX9000 is the perfect tool to deal with problems like this because decompression is a slow separation of the lumbar vertebrae. This causes the disc to infuse with water and nutrients...allowing it to heal, and also take pressure off the facet joints.

So if you suffer with chronic back pain there is a good chance that Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression with the DRX9000 Decompression Machine is a perfect fit for you. We use the DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Machine to naturally repair herniated, bulging, and degenerated discs.

How does it work you ask.

The DRX9000 gently pulls apart the vertebrae that surround an injured disc. As it gently pulls the lumbar vertebrae the intradiscal pressure (the pressure inside the disc) is dropped. As the pressure inside the disc becomes negative...a vacuum effect is created...promoting diffusion of water, oxygen, and nutrients into the spinal disc. As it unloads it pushes acid waste products out of the disc.

For a herniated or bulging disc...this decompressive force pulls the disc material back inside...moving it away from pain sensitive nerve fibers and spinal cord tissue. The diffusion of oxygen, nutrients, and water into the disc promotes healing of the disc through fibrogenesis...effectively repairing the disc...and getting right to the root of the problem.

Degenerative Disc Disease sufferer's do not always have bulging or herniated discs. Degenerative disc disease suffers have buildup of acid waste products within the disc...acid actively eats the disc tissue away. The diffusion of water, oxygen, and nutrients in this case...pushes the acid out...and re-hydrates and adds height to the disc. A perfect recipe for Non-Surgically healing a lumbar degenerative disc.

Here is a link to a video that demonstrates How The DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Machine Works.

Your lumbar spinal discs...are cartilage structures...that act as cushions for your spine. Cartilage is a tough, durable tissue...in large part because it does not have a direct blood supply. Since the discs don't have blood vessels that go directly into them...they have to use a different process to stay hydrated and healthy.

This process is called imbibition...the pumping action in the discs and tissues. With every movement of your spine...you move fluid, oxygen, nutrients, and wastes, in and out of the discs. It is this gentle pumping action that brings the good nutrients in and takes the toxic waste products out.

When there is an injury to the disc...the disc's function is damaged. When the disc gets damaged it begins to lack the ability to pump.

Here is where the story gets good. Let’s use a short analogy...think of your lumbar discs like a clear, beautiful pond.

When you have a healthy pond...there is a stream coming in and a stream going out that circulates the water.

This circulation brings the good stuff in (nutrients) and takes the toxic waste out. Creating a healthy environment. You can picture it now: the fish, lily pads, frogs, and other LIFE in the pond. This means the water is more alkaline and livable.

Let’s look at it another way.

If this pond of yours...and it has it's incoming stream dry up or slow down to a trickle (this simulates an injury)...what happens to the pond water and the life in it?

The pond begins to dry up...that green slimy stuff is all over...and it starts to stink. The water gets murky, stagnant...and all the life in the pond begins to die.

This is exactly what happens to your discs. After an injury, your discs lose the ability to pump (circulate fluids). That allows them to slowly dry out, crack & tear.

The pond water becomes more acidic too, just like your discs. It is this acidity that leads to Degenerative Disc Disease or DDD as it is often referred to.

How does acidity lead to degenerative disc disease?

Well, acid, by nature, eats things. Basically all of the acid from the stagnant disc (the toxic waste that couldn’t be pumped out is held inside the disc), slowly, hour by hour, day by day, week by week, and month by month is slowly eating away your discs.

It causes inflammation as it DESTROYS and damages the tissues.

When the tissues in your back are so acidic, you can do all the exercises in the world and you won't...you can't fix the problem. As your discs dry up more pressure is created. This increased pressure accelerates the problems and the damage in your back. It's a viscious cycle.

I have patients who bring in multiple sets of x-rays. As we sit down together and review the x-rays we see a common pattern...the degeneration of the discs has progressed with each consecutive year. We then have to ask..."What is causing this problem to progress?" Then I sit down and explain what I just explained to you.

Often times the patient feels that they have been doing the right things. They may be exercising and even recieving regular chiropractic spinal manipulation.

The problem is...we need a way to pump the acid out of the disc, and bring oxygen, fluid, and nutrients into the disc...or the disc is going to continue to degenerate.

In my Fresno Spinal Decompression Center, we use the DRX9000 Lumbar Disc Repair System. The DRX9000 uses a very precise, computerized, decompressive force...that gently separates the lumbar vertebrae. The decompressive force creates a negative pressure inside the disc, a vaccum-like effect, that pulls nutrients into the disc, and pushes acid out. Through this process we can restore normal motion and rehydrate the disc. Not only halting the degenerative process...but actually reversing the problem.

Before the invention of DRX9000 Spinal Decompression just a few years ago...there was no way to non-surgically repair degenerative discs. Now with advanced technology we can not only stop the degenerative disc disease process...we can reverse it.
