It is interesting to note that with Facebook's debut on the stock market happening in a week (on May 18th, 2012) opening with a share price between $28-$35, Yahoo! shares have not exceeded $20 in the past 3 1/2 years. And in March 2012, Dan Loeb has set upon an offensive against Yahoo’s Board of Director that can only be compared to the Tet Offensive in Vietnam which had left CEO Scott Thompson as its resume casualty.

Another tidbit to note is Yahoo’s partnership with Facebook in socializing the new has not met its expectations. Especially when it was purported to be so innovative that it was going to change the way news is delivered. Many users once they figured how their privacy was in question opted out of the service, which subsequently doomed the progress of the service.

Yahoo is now a social media dinosaur, web traffic has dropped by 35%. Lost month (April 2012) Yahoo laid off 2,000 employees in an effort to stimulate the value of their stock, possibly in anticipation of Facebook going public.

If you are new to Windows 7 and its Control Panel, here is an overview on how to navigate the central configuration hub for your computer’s operating system.  When you first open the Control Panel the numerous tools that you use to configure and control every aspect of Windows 7 are divided on the first screen by their broader categories.  Here you have the option to either view the Control Panel by Category view or small or large icon view.  The icon view shows all the 45 tools available to configure your system individually.

1. From the browser menu choose TOOLS
2. Then select INTERNET OPTIONS
3. On the pop-up window that opens, there is a Search section.
4.  Click SETTINGS this is where you can choose your preferred search engine.
5. On the subsequent popup that opens there you will see several choices for search engines.
6. Here you can select the search engine you prefer and SET AS THE DEFAULT.
7. On this popup you can also check the box to Prevent programs from suggesting changes to my default search provider and/or check the box to Search in the address bar.

2. This opens the OPTIONS Basics page, scroll down the page to the Search section there in the dropdown box you can select the search engine that you would like to use.  If your preferred search engine is not listed you can select the Mange Search Engines button to add your own.
3. Any changes you make CHROME will automatically save, once finished close the page.

Change Default Search in the Search Bar:

It is very simple, Firefox does not have any formal search engine.  So, to change just locate the search bar within the browser.  Hit the dropdown menu box and select another engine.  If your preferred engine is not listed than select Manage Search Engines at the bottom of the dropdown box to add.  Firefox will remember your choice and use the new default until you change it.  You will see the logo of your choice display to the left of the menu dropdown box.

Change Default Search Engine in the Address Bar:

Firefox allows you to search directly from the address bar whenever you type in a phrase in the address bar and press enter.  To change the default search engine that is used following the steps below:

1. In the address bar type about:config
2. On that page in the Filter Box type keyword.url
3. In the results double-click the entry to open a popup box, replace the keyword.url string of the current default search engine, with the one of your preference.  Here are some of the major strings:  Then press OK.

Bing: http://www.bing.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=

Google: http://www.google.com/search?&q=

Have you with the new iPhone OS5 gotten some “photos” uploaded to your phone’s new Photo Stream (iCloud) that you were not intending and you are now not sure how to delete them here is how:

First, you can reset your Photo Stream in ICloud.

1. Login to iCloud.
2. Click your name in the top right corner then select the ADVANCED tab.
3. Click RESET PHOTO STREAM.

This deletes all the photos stored in ICloud but it does not remove the photos from your devices
Second, to remove the photos from your device (iPhone or iPad) your must turn off Photo Stream and turn it back on to reset it.

1. Go to your OS device
2. Navigate to SETTINGS > ICLOUD > PHOTO STREAM
3. Turn OFF Photo Stream then turn it back ON.

Third, if you need to further delete photos you must do each manually:

From MAC: You can reset the Photo Stream to clear the cache of photos that appear in iPhoto or Aperture by turning the Photo Stream on and off.

1. Navigate to PREFERENCES > PHOTO STREAM
2. Turn OFF Photo Stream then turn it back ON.

From a PC: You can remove photos by deleting them from the Photo Stream Download Folder. By default, this folder is located on your hard drive at C:\Users\Apple\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream
