Filming interviews and focus groups

  1. Write a list of 5 to 10 questions that investigate consumer thoughts and feelings about a product or service that go from general to specific.
  2. Get a recording device–a digital camera, camcorder, or smart phone.
  3. Try to use a tripod.
  4. Consider the lighting conditions.
  5. Consider the background sound.
  6. Shoot in landscape (not portrait) orientation.
  7. Only film the subject.
  8. Get your subjects talking.
  9. Don’t let your subjects start acting.
  10. Bring your camera’s cable to next class.

Titles and Meta Descriptions for Tumblr

Make sure your titles and meta descriptions are unique for each of your posts. Make sure that your titles and meta descriptions are the right length and full of keywords.

Make sure that your <h1> through <h3> tag structure makes sense. Your blog post titles should be <h1> or <h2> tags and the title at the top of your page should be in <h1> tags.

Use strong <strong> tags in your HTML. Use emphasis <em> tags in your HTML.

Alt and title tags

Your links should have title tags and your multimedia tags should have alt tags.

Duplicate content is bad.

You only want Google to index your homepage, post, and page URLs. All your other Tumblr URLs should be nofollow links.

Set your canonical URL.

Clean up your theme

Get rid of links and text in your theme that you didn’t put there.

Link juice

Link to your important posts and pages in your home page’s header, sidebar, and footer.

Contact info

Make sure a mailing address, phone number and email address is on your home page.

Website speed

Make sure that your browser is not resizing images.

Link to G+

Add a rel=”author” and rel=”me” link to your Google Profile and bio.
