Spinal Decompression provides relief to sufferers by gently reducing the pressure within spinal discs. The bones of the spine are slowly and methodically separated using the state-of-the-art Spinal Decompression Unit. As the vertebrae are separated pressure is slowly reduced within the discs until a vacuum is formed. This vacuum "sucks" the gelatinous center of the disc back inside thereby reducing the disc bulge or disc herniation.

The treatment motion is computer controlled to provide gentle and painless decompression of the injured spinal discs.

Spinal Decompression Therapy is a pain-free alternative that has shown a very high rate of success at reducing and even eliminating back and neck pain altogether. If you suffer from chronic pain, you owe it to yourself to call our office today to make an appointment to see if you're a candidate for Spinal Decompression Therapy.

Lumbar Spine Disc Herniation Treatments - Cervical Spine Disc Herniation Treatments

Lumbar Spine Disc Herniation and Cervical Spine Disc Herniation Treatments

Back pain is the second most common complaint of the people the United States when they see their medical doctors. The only other condition complained of more than back pain is headaches. Approximately 80% of all Americans will complained of back pain at some point in time in their lives. Many will try home remedies and over-the-counter medications to relieve their pain. Such remedies include warm bath soaks with Epson salt, moist heat and also stretching exercises. Others will take the it will go away approach and do nothing and hope that they're back pain goes away on its own. Luckily, back pain sometimes does go away on its own, after two or three days.

However, in the majority of cases of back pain usually does not go away on its own. In fact, it is recommended that if you suffer from back pain for more than three days, you should seek medical care. The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases also recommends that you should see your doctor if you suffer from back pain for more than three days.

Most back pain sufferers will be referred by their doctors to receive chiropractic therapy and/or physical therapy. Either way, the primary goal of the chiropractor or therapist is to relieve your pain or work with you until your pain is tolerable. Therapies will usually consist of manual procedures, including massage and trigger point therapy, manual traction, therapeutic exercise, electric muscle stimulation, ultrasound and other therapeutic modalities that are designed to relieve your pain and get you back to normal daily activities as quickly as possible.

These procedures, work for approximately 80% of back pain sufferers who go for therapy. The other 20% of back pain sufferers who do not get back pain relief from these normal therapeutic procedures usually suffer from disc herniations and/or spinal stenosis. The usual therapy recommendations for cervical spine disc herniations and lumbar spine disc herniations consist of the therapies mentioned above. But when these therapies fail to relieve the pain from the cervical spine disc herniations and lumbar spine disc herniations; injection therapy would then be recommended. However, the injection therapy is not guaranteed to relieve your pain from the cervical spine disc herniations and lumbar spine disc herniations. And more often than not, even if the injection therapy succeeds in relieving your pain from the cervical spine disc herniations and lumbar spine disc herniations no one really knows how long the pain relief will the last. Because the injection therapy does not cure your lumbar spine disc herniation or cervical spine disc herniation.

Luckily, for those who suffer from the cervical spine disc herniation pain and lumbar spine disc herniation pain, there is now spinal decompression - traction therapy. Spinal decompression therapy works to relieve your lumbar spine disc herniation pain and cervical spine disc herniation pain - when all other therapies and methods have failed to relieve your pain.

Spinal Decompression Therapy was developed to effectively treat lower back pain and sciatica pain resulting from herniated or degenerated discs. Spinal Decompression Therapy not only reduces back pain in but also enables the majority of patients to return to their active lifestyles.

Spinal decompression Therapy Works.

Spinal Decompression Therapy has been proven effective in relieving the pain associated with bulging and herniated discs, degenerative disc disease and sciatica. Clinical studies have tracked the great success rate in treating back pain, cervical spine disc herniation pain, lumbar spine disc herniation pain and sciatica pain with Spinal Decompression Therapy.

How does it work?

Spinal Decompression Therapy uses state of the art technology to relieve the nerve compression that is often associated with low back pain and sciatica pain and cervical spine disc herniation pain and lumbar spine disc herniation pain.

Call Now and Scheduled Your Consultation: 215-332-4770

What you must know if you have been in a car accident in Langhorne or Philadelphia

“The Problem with Whiplash from Car Accident Injuries…” by Dr. Marks

Everyday hundreds of auto accidents occur and the occupants are injured. Fortunately, the majority of these injury victims do not suffer fatal injuries. That’s the good news. The bad news is, most of the occupants suffer injuries that they may not be aware of or are mistreated by other doctors.

The “Problem with Whiplash” is that very few people truly understand it.

Well meaning emergency room physicians, general medical doctors and even many chiropractors do not fully appreciate the extent of injury suffered by these patients. A recent survey found that a significant percentage of family practice and orthopedic physicians question the validity of whiplash. [i] Worse yet, they cannot prove to the insurance companies, lawyers and juries that the injuries are real. The end result is that whiplash victims are given short shrift in terms of poor documentation, inadequate treatment, and low compensation for their injuries.

The first thing to realize about whiplash type injuries is that they are real. The current medical literature is filled with objective research validating this type of injury. [ii] Further, the research indicates that injuries can occur at surprisingly slow speeds and sometimes even without much car damage. [iii]
Next, whiplash injuries can remain hidden for weeks, months, and even years before telltale symptoms emerge. [iv]

The insurance companies try to disallow claims if an injured party makes a claim more than a month after the accident occurs. Those well versed in this arena know that this is fairly typical. Many people wait for a time to see if the problems will go away without treatment.

Contrary to popular belief, most people do not like going to doctors. The literature also indicates that it is common for symptoms to emerge slowly over a period of time and not necessarily all at once right at the outset. The insurance companies also know this, but they use it in their defense anyway because many patients and their attorneys will back away from these claims.

The interesting thing is that if you are injured and report to a doctor right away, often times the insurance company will ask why you didn’t wait awhile to see if the injuries would improve. Face it, no matter what your claim is, they will defend against it. Therefore, if your injury is one day old or one year old it’s going to be fought so you will need to make the best case possible.

Another fact to realize about whiplash from car accident is that it is serious. Even minor accidents can cause significant changes in the delicate nerves, ligaments, muscles and discs of the neck. At the onset, the problems may seem minor, but given enough time without proper care, the spine will dysfunction. Eventually arthritis occurs and the end result is permanent neurologic damage and loss of overall health.

Worse than arthritis, many car accidents can result in mild forms of brain injury known as “post concussion syndrome” or “traumatic brain injury”. This is more prevalent in side impact car collisions, but can occur in rear or front-end car accidents as well. These concussive injuries often result without hitting the head. Still other researchers have linked Alzheimer’s disease and chronic fibromyalgia with whiplash type injuries. Whiplash is indeed a serious health problem.

Whiplash must be treated. But not all treatments work. Hard medical evidence suggests that certain types of treatment are far superior at treating this problem. [iv] A study by Woodward, Cook, Gargan and Bannister found 93% of the patients studied under chiropractic care for chronic car accident whiplash injuries had improved. They further stated “…no conventional (medical) treatment has proven to be effective in these established chronic cases.”

Untreated and poorly treated cases of whiplash result in life long problems and suffering. It is estimated that 1% of the entire US population suffers from chronic headaches as the result of car accident whiplash injuries. [vi] That means millions of headache sufferers are directly caused by auto accidents.

Without this basic understanding the general population is at the mercy of the insurance industry. They know the facts and they spend millions of dollars each year to hide them. They use high-powered attorneys to fight claims and intimidate people.

Auto accident injuries are much more prevalent and more serious than many people realize. Here are some facts from medical experts:
- Accident speeds of only 2.5-mph can cause injuries, even if your car wasn’t damaged.
- An 8-mph collision can cause 5 g’s of force on the neck, that’s 2 1/2 times more force than the car received.
- 47% of side impact accidents cause some form of head injury.
- Auto head restraints may cause more damage than good.
- Millions suffer from post accident headaches: A form of post-traumatic concussion that can linger for months and even years and can be very difficult to diagnose.
- Arthritis is much more likely in people who have suffered even minor auto accidents.

Learn the truth about this common and serious problem. See how you may not be getting the treatment you need for the resolution of your problem or the documentation required for a successful case. See how a true “Personal Injury Specialist” approaches whiplash and how he can help you achieve the results you deserve. Many of my patient drink a quart of water in the AM and another quart in the after noon as a bare minimum. </itunes:summary><itunes:keywords>sciatica,treatment,back,pain,treatment,disc,herniations,carpal,tunnel,syndrome</itunes:keywords>

Home Made Ice Therapy

Ice is great especially for emergencies. The answer to this is a definitive yes. For most conditions, especially carpal tunnel syndrome surgery should always be the last resort. In fact, many of the people that I treat for carpal tunnel syndrome have had surgery and yet they still suffer from the pain associated with carpal tunnel syndrome.

It's not that the surgery was bad, in fact, most of the orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons do amazing work and their success rate is better than it has ever been.

The problem is that most people return to their usual activities that caused the carpal tunnel syndrome in the first place.

In order to treat carpal tunnel syndrome and effectively the muscles and ligaments for arm and wrist and even the hands have to be treated with a special hands on technique as well as manual decompression therapy.

Without doing this the pain from carpal tunnel syndrome usually returns. This is the reason why most therapies for treating carpal tunnel syndrome fail.

If you suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome, and other treatments such as physical therapy, chiropractic therapy and even surgery have failed to relieve your pain. Then you owe it to yourself to schedule an appointment with me to see if my carpal tunnel syndrome pain relief treatment would take away your carpal pommel syndrome pain.

Remember, at this point, you have nothing to lose but your pain.

Call now act 215-332-4770 to schedule your consultation.

I do accept most insurances.

<media:rating>nonadult</media:rating>
