Our transistion to www.drsketchyphilly.com (our new website for those of you still visiting this blogger site) has been quite successful. Most of you have joined us over there, but there are a few who are still lingering here. It has been just over 6 months since our move and we feel it is time to take this site down so as to avoid any confusion. The deadline to switch is August 1st, 2009. So, if you haven't done so already, make the switch to www.drsketchyphilly.com. If you have a subscription to this site - you won't be receiving ANY pertinent info regarding Dr. Sketchy's Philly. You will need to re-subscribe to the new site by adding your info "HERE (*note: for your subscription to go through, you must also confirm by clicking the link sent to you in a confirmation email).

Tickets are on sale now HERE for January 16th's Dr. Sketchy's Philly session. We're very excited to announce that 2009 sessions are ALL themed! Our first theme is a tribute to 1970s punk rock and we're calling it "Leather and Spikes!" Annie A-Bomb and Heather Henderson promise to keep you entertained wearing theme-inspired costumes. Just think... ripped fishnets, leather corsets, menacing belts, hot makeup and hair, and of course we can't forget about the safety pins to keep it all together...

Join us January 16th from 8-11PM. Doors open at 7:30PM. This month's hours are a tad different, but we'll be back to our regular schedule next month onward.

The event is 18 to enter and 21 to drink. Everyone's ID will be checked! We have some new faces working the event and they don't know all of you just yet, so please help them out by having your ID ready upon entry. Thanks! There is also FREE PARKING across the street from the event in Fleisher's parking lot. It fills up quickly, so be sure to get there early to get a spot!

Which brings me to another helpful hint for all of you Art-Monkeys. Dr. Sketchy's Philly is getting quite popular and we thank you for your continued support! While the venue is quite large, we filled up quickly at our last event. We want to make sure that you get a great spot for drawing, but can only ensure that you will get a prime spot if you get to the event early. Early meaning when doors open at 7:30! Since the event begins promptly at 8:00PM, the best spots are usually filled by 8:15. Once capacity is reached, no entry is permitted. If you buy your tickets online, you will be guaranteed entry, but retaining a good spot is completely up to you which means you must arrive early to claim the spot you'd like.

We are so happy that you have made our event successful. Once again, thank you! We will continue to do our best to provide a top notch event for you each month!

Hello everyone!

We've been receiving quite a lot of email about whether tickets are still available at the door and the answer is yes! When online sales are over, there will always be tickets available at the door the day of the event. We will only stop selling at the door when The Sancturary's capacity has been reached. We can't project when that capacity will be reached until it happens, so your best bet is to get to the event as soon as possible (doors open at 6:30PM) to ensure entry to the event.

Hey there, Art-Monkeys!
THIS FRIDAY is our one year anniversary session and masquerade party and you're invited! Lulu Lollipop and Ava Capri of The Peek-A-Boo Revue are modeling for the 2-hour regular session portion of the evening and Joey Martini, also of Peek-A-Boo, will be emceeing!

For the masquerade celebration, we will have performances from troupes we've worked with in the past including The Peek-A-Boo Revue, Revival Burlesque, Hellcat Girls Burlesque and LiCK! Molly Crabapple will also be signing Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School Colouring Books available for sale! Don't forget to come dressed in your halloween/masquerade best! There will be a costume competition later in the evening and we expect some amazing costumes! ;)

OCTOBER 17th:

Tomorrow night is the launch of our one year anniversary festivities! We'll be celebrating tomorrow night at The Midwives Gallery (1241 Carpenter Street, 2nd Floor, Suite 2, Phila, PA 19147) from 6PM - 10PM with a fantastic exhibit of YOUR art work! Cherry Bomb from The Peek-A-Boo Revue will be there to woo you with her beautiful voice - singing smokey lounge tunes and Lulu Lollipop (also of The Peek-A-Boo Revue) will be there as well showing off her incredible costume designs!

Guess what? It's October and that means it's officially our anniversary month! So what are we going to do about it? Celebrate — Dr. Sketchy's style, of course! ;)

So what's in store?

OCTOBER 10th:
The first annual Dr. Sketchy's Philly Art Show!
Have you sent your art work to be featured in the show? There's still a few days to do so! Email Elizabeth here for more info. Featuring work from our loyal art-monkeys, this show will also feature two special guests - Cherry Bomb and Lulu Lollipop of The Peek-A-Boo Revue. Cherry Bomb will be singing while Lulu Lollipop will be showing off her one of a kind costume designs!
