Usually when we talk about cars, we try to keep alcohol as far away from the conversation as possible. However, this time, we have no choice but to put the indulgence front and center. This is a special Johnnie Walker Blue Label Private Bar designed by Porsche. Of course, this toy comes with a hefty price tag, not unusual for a Porsche item. It costs £100,000 or about $155,000, even more expensive than a Porsche 911 Turbo ($137,500). There will be only 50 units built, sold worldwide.

The new Johnnie Walker Blue Label Private Bar is crafted from the finest materials and combines classic and contemporary design into a piece that exquisitely blends form and function. The bar uses state of the art motion sensors to activate its automated opening sequence, during which sections of the Private Bar effortlessly pivot and slide. This motion allows for a display of a magnum of cask strength Johnnie Walker Blue Label with exterior detailing imagined by Porsche Design Studio, two bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, and four crystal glasses.

Once opened, pressing a discretely styled button reveals a hidden chilled compartment, which rises subtly out of the bar, to reveal a bespoke crystal ice bucket, stainless steel tongs, four further crystal glasses and a crystal jug of iced water.

The biggest problem, next to the huge price, is that this private bar will only be sold through exclusive private auctions, invitation-only events, and bespoke launches.

Zimbabwean says he is in love with prostitute who turned into a donkey

A Zimbabwean man has told a court that he hired a prostitute who during the night transformed into a donkey, and that he is now “seriously in love” with the animal, state media said on Wednesday.

“I think I am also a donkey. I do not know what happened when I left the bar, but I am seriously in love with the donkey,” Sunday Moyo told the court, according to The Herald newspaper.

Moyo, 28, was arrested in the town of Zvishavane, about 300 kilometers (185 miles) south of the capital Harare on Sunday.

He said he had paid $25 for a prostitute, and was surprised Sunday morning when he heard people accusing him of having sex with a donkey.

Moyo has been charged with bestiality. The court has ordered him to undergo a mental examination, The Herald said.

I don't know what kind of mental disease this man has, but I think he killed the prostitute and to cover it up he had sex with a donkey... Genius???

People who know me, know how much I love good food. With that in mind, I had no clue about how to make good food when I first came to university. Mama was always there to provide the best dishes for years and I never thought I'd need to learn from her. For 4 years of mac and cheese, frozen microwavable goods and burnt rice and meat got me to the breaking point. I've had enough. So I started reading, watching and trying different sort of things with one main thing in mind, perfecting a medium cooked steak. Meat is my favorite type of food, some friends go as far as calling me a carnivore, so steaks was at the top of my list. Now after numerous failed attempts, I started to get the hang of it. Not only I became capable of cooking steaks at any temperature but I realized how easy it was...

A first-grade teacher, Ms Brooks, was having trouble with one of her students. The teacher asked, 'Harry, what's your problem?'

Harry answered, 'I'm too smart for the 1st grade. My sister is in the 3rd grade and I'm smarter than she is! I think I should be in the 3rd grade too!'

Ms. Brooks had had enough. She took Harry to the principal's office.

While Harry waited in the outer office, the teacher explained to the principal what the situation was. The principal told Ms. Brooks he would give the boy a test. If he failed to answer any of his questions he was to go back to the 1st grade and behave. She agreed.

Harry was brought in and the conditions were explained to him and he agreed to take the test.

Principal:
'What is 3 x 3?'

Harry:
'9.'

Principal:
'What is 6 x 6?'

Harry:
'36.'

And so it went with every question the principal thought a 3rd grader should know.

The principal looks at Ms. Brooks and tells her, 'I think Harry can go to the 3rd grade'

Ms. Brooks says to the principal, 'Let me ask him some questions..'

The principal and Harry both agreed.

Ms. Brooks asks, 'What does a cow have four of that I have only two of?'

Harry, after a moment: 'Legs.'

Ms. Brooks: 'What is in your pants that you have but I do not have?'

The principal wondered why would she ask such a question!

Harry replied: 'Pockets.'

Ms. Brooks: 'What does a dog do that a man steps into?'

Harry: 'Pants.'

The principal sat forward with his mouth hanging open.

Ms. Brooks: 'What goes in hard and pink then comes out soft and sticky?'

The principal's eyes opened really wide and before he could stop the answer, Harry replied, 'Bubble gum.'

Ms. Brooks: 'What does a man do standing up, a woman does sitting down and a dog does on three legs?'

Harry: 'Shake hands .'

The principal was trembling.

Ms. Brooks: 'What word starts with an 'F' and ends in 'K' that means a lot of heat and excitement?'

The principal breathed a sigh of relief and told the

Leaked photos always have a way of forcing automakers to scramble on how to proceed when launching a new vehicle and the leaked images of the Ferrari 458 Italia Spider just might have forced Ferrari to show its hand earlier than they wanted. Now, all this is a matter of speculation and it just might be coincidence altogether, but in any case, the Italian automaker not only released the first official teaser of the 458 Italia Spider, but followed that up with the the first batch of official photos featuring the much-talked about top-down supercar.

There’s no need to strain any muscles on the validity of these photos because they have officially come straight from the Prancing Horse’s mouth. Or in this case, their Facebook page.

Whether Ferrari was forced to show their images earlier than they wanted because of the leaked photos is irrelevant now. What’s important is that we finally get to see the 458 Italia Spider in all its awesome glory.

Have you been trying to escape to a tropical island? Things are getting in the way? University, work, family, finance... Well what if I told you someone can sail their own island where ever they want.
That's the concept behind the "Tropical Island Paradise" superyacht, whose designers say it was "inspired by the islands of the Caribbean, Indian Ocean and Polynesia."

To give it that complete Tiki-island feel, the vessel -- still at the design stage --features its very own volcano as well as a "beach cove" deck with a large swimming pool, fed by a stream emanating from a cascading waterfall.
If this isn't enough, the deck also includes private cabanas nestled between palm trees, a bar area, and a helicopter landing platform.
Floating "beach islands" can also be deployed from the rear of the yacht, providing a "sea level platform" from which guests can play or relax by the water.
Accommodating 10 people, if built, the superyacht would reach an overall length of 90 meters, powered by a diesel electrical power plant and reach a maximum speed of 15 knots.
But don't pack your Hawaiian shirt just yet. When asked if there were any plans to actually build the yacht, director of Yacht Island Design Rob McPherson said it was "pursuing a number of leads."
"These are pretty inventive designs. That's exactly what we are about," he said.
"We are offering a design service to the client who feels they need something a little different and unique. Granted, it won't be to everybody's taste but we feel there is a niche in which we comfortably fit."

Just like the previously spectacular tuning packages, the GranTurismo S Superior Black takes the standard model and adds the aggressiveness it needs with a matte black exterior finish and other upgraded features, as well as extra thump for the engine.

The body of the vehicle get a cool matte black paint job while the window frames, grill, and the rear logo are covered in a shiny black finish. Anderson Germany then covered the exterior mirrors, tailgate and roof ledges, and the lateral left and right air inlets in carbon fiber before finishing the vehicle off with a new set of 21" glossy black exclusive rims with carbon framing. The use of carbon fiber in these accessories has reduced the GranTurismo’s weight by a total of 28 lbs.

Once the doors are opened, it becomes abundantly clear that Anderson Germany has also used carbon fiber to enrich the inside of the Maserati. The air inlets, door knobs, the switch desk in the roof liner, the door sill panels, the steering wheel, the seat regulation levers, the shifting paddles, and the radio mask are all made of carbon fiber. The luxury continues with black carbon leather seats with black Alcantara, keder piping, and red rhombus seams.

Anderson Germany continued to throw themselves into this tuning kit by providing an exhaust enhancement, racing cats, and software optimization for the GranTurismo’s 4.7 liter V8. These additions brought the output to 492 HP from the standard 440 HP.

Dexter season 6 coming this fall

Based on Jeff Lindsay's novels Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter this crime thriller follows Dexter Morgan, from my point of view this is one of the best TV shows every made. Dexter is a forensic blood spatter expert for the Miami Dade Police Department. He is the main support for his sister. He has a steady girlfriend, with two kids who adore him. He also has an active "night life". Based on a code instilled in him by his foster father, Harry, he hunts down people who have escaped justice and makes sure they don't get away with a crime again.

That said, whoever didn't watch this show should get on it immediately, you have 5 seasons to catch up before season 6, the final one begins airing this fall (Sunday October 2nd). This is as little video to give you a little feel of the show. Make sure you watch the rest of the videos, I included season 6 trailer...

That said veiled women are not the only ones so whether you are veiled or not, if comfort is your primary concern know that you can be comfortable and stylish if you try a tiny bit harder.

What is Lebron doing this summer? Learning from the best...

Since the beginning of summer, right after Miami lost the Finals, all we heard about Lebron James revolved around charity events, basketball camps for the best high schools and colleges. He played in a few different basketball games here and there and filmed a commercial in Los Angeles. He visited Nike headquarters in Oregon. He even attended a bachelor party in Las Vegas for his teammate Chris Paul. Lebron James is back home in Ohio, hosting his charity bicycle annual event but most importantly Lebron James did a rather unusual thing this summer. He had his plane take a little detour and go to Houston. He decided that after loosing to the Dallas Mavericks he wanted to improve one of the aspects of his game (the only aspect he still needs to be perfect), his post up game. To do that he went to see the great Hakeem Olajuwon.
Lebron james told us:

"Just every day just trying to critique my game seeing ways that i can get better so I can be more of a complete basketball player on the court," James said. "I'm focusing on getting better." And then he added "Right now, I've just been focusing on getting better, working on my game every single day. The Dallas Mavericks were a great team and they deserved to win that championship. Its just more motivation coming into this season. You always want to be victorious but when you're not victorious, it's about how you bounce back. I'm in bounce-back mode, and I've dedicated this offseason to myself being a better basketball player." Personally when I first saw James play I was really surprised that a basketball player that size doesn't have amazing post up abilities.

Well we heard Lebron saying it all "now or never" and saying that his potential and focus is 100% to win... We all know that's what he said last year and didn't work. So do you think this will? Well we can't really tell at the moment but I think if he is able to improve his post up, he will be as good as Wade in the Small forward and point guard position and like Stoudemire. He will be probably the most complete player in the NBA today.

"I look at what he was able to do throughout his career," James said. "Unbelievable talent. Multiple champion. Just see how he was able to dominate in the low post, for me as an individual, I just try to look at some of the things I feel I need to get better at and hit home at it. Our team becomes better if I continue to get better and that's what it's about."

This should help him in my opinion.

When all you want is BED and BREAKFAST

So you had a crazy night last night and woke up with the worst hangover. Ap

art from that nauseous feeling that runs throughout your body as soon as you wake up till later on during the day (some people longer than others), your body is starving for anything that will make it feel better. Guess what. Heavy, greasy breakfasts

do the trick! A perfect 'morning after' meal will be your ticket out of remorse for whatever happened the night before, and will get that C.O.D. gun-shooting effect out of your head.

1. As soon as you wake up, and stumble out of bed, go get a glass of cold water. BUT MAKE SURE you sip it slowly. While you're asleep, your body's dehydration sneaks its way in and the first thing you'll want to do is down an entire bottle as soon as you open your eyes. But try to sip slowly because if you drink it all too fast, that feeling of sudden hydration will make you feel nauseous and unbalanced.

2. When you wake up hungover, head pounding and room spinning, you're first instinct probably won't be to head to the kitchen but to the washroom to finish up some business. My advice to you: TAKE YOUR TIME. Then take a shower afterwards.

3. After your shower, put on some moisturizing body lotion all over, that dryness is due to the dehydration from the alcohol. Plus, it feels so good when you finally hydrate your body inside and out.

Now for the breakfast part:

Here are some quick, easy dishes that make you feel so much better. Remember to drink water before you drink anything else. Also, a nice cup of coffee later on in the day feels great, but get your body hydrated first!

Here's a good list of breakfast wonders. You'll thank me.

1. Potato-Tomato pancakes with Sunny Side-Ups and Grilled Tomato slices.

Serves 3

Ingredients: Pancakes: 3 small-medium potatoes, 1 onion, 1 tomato, olive oil, salt, pepper, cumin, nutmeg, 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup milk, 2 eggs, breadcrumbs.

DON'T BE LAZY! DO NOT USE A MACHINE TO BLEND THESE INGREDIENTS!

First, grate (peeled/unpeeled: it's up to you!) potatoes and peeled onion into a big bowl. Chop tomato into small cubes. After 5 minutes of grating, you'll notice the puddle of potato/onion/tomato juice at the bottom of the bowl. It is important to drain the mixture. Then, crack in the eggs and make sure all is blended togethe

r and that the eggs are coating the potatoes/onion mixture. After that, add in about 2 tbsp olive oil and mix quickly. In another bowl, mix together the flour, milk and the spices (about 1 tsp. of cumin and nutmeg, and salt and pepper according to taste). Pour flour/milk/spices into potato/onion/tomato mixture and stir.

SPICE ADVICE! Do not add spices including salt and pepper until the end, as these will damage the eggs.

COOKING: Heat a large skillet on med-high heat. It is imp

ortant to let the pan heat first, and then add a little bit of cooking oil. (Olive oil works but make sure you don't cook the pancakes on high as olive oil has a low smoke-point). Take a spoonful of the pancake mixture, and place on skillet; pat down gently with back of spoon. Do not flatten entirely, as it will happen throughout the cooking/flipping process. The skillet should fit 3-4 pancakes. Cook each side of the pancakes for about 3-5 minutes each.

OPTION: Sprinkle one side of the pancake with breadcrumbs before you flip it to have a crusty, crumby crunch!

FOR THE GRILLED TOMATOES AND SUNNY SIDE-UPS:

You'll need 1 tomato, cut into thick slices

Heat 1 tbsp olive oil on pan at med-high heat (around 7 or 8). When the olive oil begins to smoke just a little bit (wait 2 minutes max!) turn down the heat to around 6, and place each tomato slice on the pan, allow to cook for 3 minutes and then turn over for 30 seconds. Place nicely on your beautiful plate.

You'll need 2 eggs.

Heat the skillet to medium-high. Coat the pan with about a tablespoon of olive oil, and when the pan is hot, add a tbsp of butter and let it sizzle for a sec.

HERE'S A TIP! Splash some water on the pan with your fingers, and if it sizzles and evaporates, then the pan is ready!

As soon as the sizzling starts, it's time to crack in 2 eggs. You can do them side by side, or individually, depending on the size of the pan (smaller pan=side by side). Turn down the heat to medium, and let the eggs cook until the white around the yolk has set and doesn't jiggle when you jiggle the pan. Depending on how you like your eggs, runny or not, you can adjust how long the eggs should cook; however I believe the right timing is around 4-5 minutes. For easy 'lifting', use a silicon spatula to slide between the egg and the pan lifting it off the surface, use the silicon spatula as a lever if you need it, and use an ordinary spatula to take the eggs out and serve on a plate.

Sprinting Science: Can Usain Bolt Break His 100m Record Again?

The London Olympic games is in one year from now and the world is wondering if Usain Bolt will be able to astonish us one more time. One of the questions that has been hunting me since he finished his 100m in Beijing celebrating before the race was done, "scientifically and physiologically, can the Human body run faster than that?". Bolt proved that he can a year after and now I was looking to find out if he can do it again... This article explains it best.

One year from now, the 2012 Olympic Games will begin in London, where all eyes will be on the incomparable Usain Bolt -- the Jamaican sprinter who is more than living up to his name.
Since 2008, Bolt has taken a jackhammer to the 100-meter world record, lopping off a whopping .14 seconds. That might not sound like a huge chunk of time until you consider it's twice as much as any other sprinter has shaved off the world record since the advent of electronic scoring.
Logically, one would think that Bolt did so by moving his legs faster than anyone else. Only he didn't.
Speed, as it turns out, may be completely misunderstood.

When Bolt established the current 100-meter world record in the 2009 world championships, running it in 9.58 seconds, he did so by moving his legs at virtually the same pace as his competitors. In fact, if you or I were to compete against Bolt, our legs would turn over at essentially the same rate as his.

This is a theory put forth by academics and track coaches alike who contend that running fast has more to do with the force one applies to the ground than how quickly one can move one's legs.

More than a decade ago, Peter Weyand, a science professor at Southern Methodist University, conducted a study on speed. Comparing athletes to non-athletes, Weyand clocked both test groups as they ran at their top speed. What he found shocked him.
"The amount of time to pick up a leg and put it down is very similar," he says. "It surprised us when we first figured it out."

Think of the legs as springs. The more force they can push against the ground, the further they can propel the body forward, thus maximizing the output of each individual step. In a full sprint, the average person applies about 500 to 600 pounds of force. An Olympic sprinter can apply more than 1,000 pounds.

But force isn't the only factor. How quickly that force is applied factors in as well.

For this, think of bouncing a beach ball versus a super ball. The beach ball is soft and mushy and when bounced on the ground sits for a while before slowly rebounding back into the air. Conversely, a super ball is hard and stiff and when bounced rebounds almost instantaneously -- and at a much faster speed than the beach ball.

The average person's foot is on the ground for about .12 seconds, while an Olympic sprinter's foot is on the ground for just .08 seconds -- a 33-percent difference.

"The amount of time [one's legs are] in the air is .12, regardless if you're fast or slow," Weyand explains. "An elite sprinter gets the aerial time they need with less time on the ground to generate that lift -- or to get back up in the air -- because they can hit harder."

So what makes Bolt faster than even the elite sprinters? And can he run the 100 meters even faster than 9.58 seconds?

Bolt's superiority is often explained by his unique combination of height, strength and acceleration.

At 6-foot-5, Bolt is two inches taller than fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell (pictured together below) and has six inches on American Tyson Gay -- two of his closest challengers. While it takes most elite sprinters 44 strides to complete 100 meters, Bolt does it in 41.

"Would you rather take 44 steps to your car or 41?" asks Dan Pfaff, who coached Canada's Donovan Bailey to the 100-meter gold during the Atlanta Games in 1996.

Pfaff, now working in London to help boost Great Britain's track-and-field hopes for 2012, says Bolt's height gives him a distinct leverage advantage.

"If you're digging a hole in the ground, you have to get a longer lever to pry [out a rock]," he explains. "If you can control those levers and make them work efficiently, it's a huge advantage."

It's Bolt's ability to control the levers that is so unusual for a sprinter his height.

While taller sprinters may be able to reach a higher top-end speed, getting up to that speed isn't as easy. This can be explained physiologically -- smaller people can exert more force in relation to how much they weigh -- but Weyand prefers a more simple visual to show this to be true.

"You can easily imagine a 4-foot-10 gymnast doing a triple back flip, but imagine Shaquille O'Neal or Yao Ming doing it," he says. "You know they can't do it."

Bolt, it seems, is the exception to this rule. Though he's not doing triple back flips, he does get up to speed nearly as quickly as his more diminutive competitors.

"He has a very unusual combination of being extremely tall and relatively massive and being able to accelerate well. Those things are at odds with each other," explains Dr. Mike Young, a strength and speed coach who trains professionals in track and field and other sports. "He accelerates better than all but one guy in the world -- behind Asafa Powell -- but because he's so massive, he takes fewer strides. If you're that large, once you're moving, you stay moving."

This would help explain why Bolt still managed to break the world record during the Beijing Games in 2008 despite throwing up his arms in celebration some 20 meters before the finish. As Young explains, if the "average athlete is a motorcycle, Usain Bolt is a dump truck," and it takes a lot more resistance to slow down a dump truck than a motorcycle. Thus, when he fatigues, he slows down more slowly.

"He has the holy triumvirate," Young contends. "He's one of the top accelerators, has the highest top-end speed and the highest endurance. It's something that's never been seen before. Carl Lewis had the highest top speed, the highest endurance, but he was not the best accelerator."

Bolt, just 24, has set his goal of running the 100 meters in the 9.4 range, explaining to Britain's BBC Radio: "Because that's where I think the record will probably never be beaten."

How to Buy Organic Foods

It's true, organic produce is more expensive. So choose the fruits/vegetables that have the most residue from pesticides and opt to buy them organically instead.

TIP: If you buy apples or any other fruit, in bulk, and can't afford to buy them organically, that's fine. What you can do is peel the skin off before you eat them to avoid ingesting pesticides and toxic substances.

These are known as "the Dirty Dozen" and should therefore, always be bought organically:

2012 Maserati GranCabrio Convertible Sport

For the longest time Maserati has been sitting in the shaddows of Ferrari's larger than life status in the industry. This may be the only shortcoming for the beautiful Maserati. Ferrari probably makes it frustratingly difficulte for everyone at least with Maserati we are looking at one of the best (right after Ferrari).
Now to say that Maserati isn’t trying is likewise a slap in the face of the Italian automaker. And to be completely on the up-and-up, if there’s a car that can definitely make the world stand up and take notice, the brand’s new 2012 GranCabrio Convertible Sport is that car. Scheduled to be unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, the newest Maserati GranCabrio Convertible is nothing short of jaw-dropping. Even though it can't compete with Ferrari in terms of top speed, HP and 0 to 60, it definitely captures your attention with her looks.

The design of the car is stunning, the body color is resplendent, and the powertrain is by no means a slouch. All three things that are important to any supercar, Maserati hits right out of the park with the GranCabrio Convertible Sport.
Now I understand that a man’s taste is totally subjective, but in the case of the GranCabrio Convertible Sport, it makes the discussion completely moot.

Exterior and Interior

Aesthetically speaking, the Maserati GranCabrio Convertible Sport comes with some interesting new details that make it stand out from the rest of the supercar crowd. The new nose looks a lot sharper than the GranTurismo, thanks in large part to a large and distinctive black grille with the company’s iconic Trident logo with red accents. Meanwhile, the car’s headlights look darker and are complemented by white sidemarks. The front corner splitters, and the retouched side skirts are now colored in the same ‘Rosso Trionfale’ body color the GranCabrio Convertible Sport comes in. The car’s exterior is finished off with a set of redesigned 20’’ Trident-like Astro-design wheels and a pair of black oval exhaust tips. Just so you know, this particular ’Rosso Trionfale’ color holds special esteem for the Italian brand as it was the red national colors that were used by Maserati back in its racing heyday during the 50’s.
Inside, the GranCabrio Convertible Sport, the open-topped cabin has a new set of M-design seats that come in two leather colors: Bianco Pregiato and Grigio Chrono. You’ll also find a number of features that should come as boons for anybody interested in the car, including longer Trofeo-design gear-shift paddles and drilled aluminium pedals.

Performance

Don’t be surprised that this Maserati has the type of powerful juice running inside its system that would make its sister company proud.
Powered by the brand’s all-alloy 4.6-liter V8 engine that produces 450 horsepower and 376 lb/ft of torque and mated to a ZF six-speed automatic transmission, the GranCabrio Convertible Sport is one supercar that nobody should mess with. The drivetrain comes with Maserati’s very own Friction Reduction Program, which allows the car’s engine to be more reactive to the driver’s inputs while also cutting down fuel consumption by six percent. It may not look as much at first glance, but six percent for a car as powerful as the GranCabrio Convertible Sport goes a long way in the long run. As for the top speed, the GranCabrio Convertible Sport peaks at 177 mph.

Pricing

Initially, I thought that the new Maserati GranCabrio Convertible Sport would retail for somewhere around $150,000 after basing it on the $136,000 price tag of the standard GranCabrio. As it turns out, I were almost right, except that the car will be a bit cheaper. According to Maserati, the GranCabrio Convertible Sport will sell for £102,615 on the British market and for $142,800 on the US market.

Competition

Between a Maserati GranCabrio Convertible Sport and an Aston Martin V8 Vantage, what would you choose? To be honest, you can’t go wrong with picking one over the other.
Performance numbers are right about the same: the V8 Vantage has a 4.7-liter V8 engine that produces 420 horsepower, which is right about the same as the 4.6-liter V8 engine for the GranCabrio Convertible Sport that nets 450 horsepower.
In terms of design, the 2012 model of the GranCabrio Convertible looks so stunningly epic that I'm actually having a hard time in choosing which model to go with. Ask me this question for past Maserati models and I wouldn’t even blink before saying I’d pick the Aston Martin, but with the 2012 Maserati GranCabrio Converible Sport, the choice is extremely difficult.
But if I have to pick one right now, I'm going to choose the GranCabrio Sport because of how completely dashing this car looks compared to some of its older models.

2014 Lexus GS 350 Coupe

Lexus will be unveiling the new generation GS sedan on August 18th, in conjunction with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. That much we already know, but what many don’t know just yet is that the company is planning a coupe version of the model. The new GS Coupe will be a spiritual successor to the SC 430 and will target models like the Audi S5, BMW 650i, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe.
In an interview with Inside Line, Ben J. Mitchell, Lexus’ product planner manager said: "I’d like to do a coupe. We’re really trying to increase the emotional qualities of our brand. We want to emphasize exterior styling and dynamics."

The GS Coupe will be the company’s second two-door model with more than two seats (the IS hardtop convertible was the first). Under the hood, expect to find a 3.5-liter V6 engine that will deliver around 300 HP.
The Lexus GS Coupe will more than likely find its way onto the market at the end of 2013. Customers interested will have to pay around $50K.
If you ask me, Lexus is a very nive car and good company but I wouldn't not go as far as saying that it can compete with the Audi S5, BMW 650i and the Benz E-class. At $50K, I don't even think it can be concidered a luxury car, not even a sport car. 300HP is nice for a car in her class but it's not all that impressive. They might be on the right track but they're not there yet.

2013 BMW Gran Coupe

So it has been a while since BMW gave us something to admire and drop our jaws. Thankfully they finally came to their senses and decided to give us a BMW with a little more personality and character. Well, hopefully...
The Gran Coupe concept has finally been pushed through to production. With the AUdi A7 lurking at the segment and the Mercedes CLS in it's second version, BMW needed a new star. For that they are signing the Gran Coupe with a contract starting in 2012.

According to BMW Blog, the BMW Gran Coupe will be sold under the 6-Series badge and will share some of the features from that model line. However, the Gran Coupe will also keep some of the features that made the concept so attractive at the Beijing Auto Show earlier this year including the frameless windows and B-pillar. The model will be available in an even mixture of gasoline and diesel engines with an ActiveHybrid also in the works.
According to Endras BMW, the future BMW Gran Coupe model will be powered by the company’s newly developed twin-turbo V8 engine, same as used in the BMW M5. This means that the future model will deliver an impressive 580 HP, making it one of the most powerful models in its market segment.

Green is NOT just the "New Black"

We sit around and criticize people for trying to be too green, animal-friendly, etc. But guess what: it's not a fad. If people are being green because it's "the new black", then they're wasting their time. It shouldn't be one way of life, it should be THE way of life. People who don't care about what they're doing to the environment because they won't be around forever and therefore, only give a hoot about what the environment is like NOW, are selfish, ignorant idiots: think about your children and their children. Think about your legacy. Think about how you're affecting nature, and making it worse. Here's how you can help right here, right now. These are just a few things to think about.

In a more sentimental perspective, consider the way that the Quechua people in the Andes worship and give back to the mountain upon which they live. In a book I strongly recommend called 'Mountain of Condor', Joseph W. Bastien penetrates their culture by comprehending the importance of the mountain as a metaphor for meaning and hierarchy in their lives. The Earth is what naturally governs them, and why should we not do the same? These Incan people feed the mountain before they feed themselves. A friend of mine told me that during a trekking tour in Machu Picchu, their tour guides would regularly take out a bottle of water and pour some on the ground before they drank some for themselves, which would be their way of thanking the Earth before indulging in its fruitful offerings. If you are still not convinced, watch how the people in BBC's documentary "Human Planet" reciprocate aid to the Earth and animals around them, whether they are animals for food like the Indonesian sailors who harpoon a sperm whale to feed their entire village, or the way that a Mongolian father and son train their eagles to hunt after foxes to feed them during their harsh winters.

Since food production is responsible for 12% of greenhouse gas emissions (Pazderka et al. n.d.), choose your food and eat your meat wisely. Due to mass production, which not only feeds society's stomachs, but our mind set, to make meat or dairy the main ingredient in all three meals of the day, over the past 50 years, world meat consumption has gone up 50%.

At the same caloric and nutrient levels, vegan diets have the least effect on the environment, followed by vegetarian and omnivorous diets. This doesn't mean that vegetarian and vegan diets are always better than carnivorous. If we consumed organic meat, that would be much better for the environment than non-organic cheese, milk, etc.

When organic was compared to conventional systems on each diet, the organic diet wins whether vegan, vegetarian or omnivorous. (Baroni and colleagues, 2006). So maybe instead of going vegan, opt for an omnivorous diet that consists of organic produce.

Water use:

To produce 1 calorie of meat it takes 100 times the amount of water that it takes to produce 1 calorie of grain.

Land use:

Transportation: Moving the food to the animals, then moving the animals to slaughter and transporting the meat to a store magnifies harmful emissions

Energy and Fossil Fuels.Animals must eat 6 kilograms of plant protein to make 1 kilogram of animal protein . Ittakes 40 calories of energy to produce one calorie of beef, making it the worst offender. Following close behind aremilk (14:1), and eggs (39:1). The average energy-in to energy-out ratio for animal protein is 25:1.

The point is...

In order to reduce the number of gas emissions that are truly harming our environment, we need to consume a little bit less than we do today, not solely in amount, but in variety. Especially since food is constantly being wasted or coming from ruthless (in terms of anti-green) factories who don't care. This doesn't mean that everyone should just go vegan to protect the Earth or cut down their food intake by half. Instead, we should try to consume more organic products in general, so as to not feed the mass production industry of animals for their meat and by-products. The reason that these industries are constantly mass producing animals is because we DEMAND it, and therefore they SUPPLY it. Support grass-fed beef, and organic produce. It's better for your health and the environment.

Rowan Atkinson, ring a bell? OK let's try this again...
Mr. Bean, now you know who I'm talking about! Bean is known by most as the funniest man in the world. After all Mr. Bean hardly needs an introduction but what most people don't know is that Atkinson is also an avid car lover and collector, and he drives like a pro. After all in one of his movies he was able to brush, undress, dress and eat while late to a doctors appointment.

When Atkinson dropped by the BBC gang of top gear, he brought along one of his prized possessionss, a very, very ,very special Rolls Royce Phantom. I'm saying special because usually the Phantom features a 6.75-liter V12 engine, but his has an astonishing 9.0-liter V16! According to Rowan RR designed the car specially for this engine. The V16 engine was hanging around the company’s store until Atkinson - knowing of its existence and history - specifically asked for it to be dropped into a Phantom. The best part is that the V16-powered Phantom will be used for one of Atkinson’s upcoming movies - Johnny English Reborn - set to air in the States on August 18, 2011.

What does this tell us? Mr. Bean is not the joke he appears to be in his movies, behind that character there's a very sporty and daring person. This also shows us that it seems that some car manufacturers are still using an outdated version of their engine. The 9.0-liter V16 is quite interesting! I wonder on what are the other capabilities of this modern technology. Are Bugatti, Ferrari and Audi also using an outdated version of their engines?
