Dragon Ball Z Little Fighter 2

How many times has this mod died and come back again?

2020-06-01T20:16:00.001-04:00

WE BACK BABY! After another 6 month hiatus. I am starting work on the mod again.

If you follow along on the discord, then you know I am starting off by creating a power level list of all the characters for AI to "detect" power levels to know whether they should insta transform or not and fill out all the defense values in the HEX EXE editing stuff. For full details check out the #annoucements in the discord server.

You can also check the server to find a google sheet of a power level list template if you'd like to create your own unofficial power level list and then DM it to me on discord before June 14 at 8 PM EDT. SO YE!

I'll be doing very extensive research on the manga, anime, daizenshuu and other resources to try to create a very accurate list with detailed notes and analyses.

New version coming soon!

2019-09-29T00:46:00.000-04:00

Hello guise. If you only check the blog then the last communication you heard from me was over 9 months ago (unless you commented or read the comments).

On the discord I mentioned a new release was coming September 28 (yesterday) though would be quite incomplete - SS Trunks would have only 2 special moves and be missing like 5 other special moves and the new BG would have half complete or not present at all. Some of the peoples in the discord said to just push the release back and release it with SS Trunks completed and so I have decided to do that. Yesterday I went through and made lots of updates. I will continue to update it more in shaa Allah but probably at a slower pace than the faster paced time sensitive rush I was in
👀. Expect a new release in the next 1-2 months hopefully in shaa Allah.

The plan:
- 1 new character: SS Trunks (Armor)
- 1 new BG: Secret 🤫

Might release updates of interesting progress till the release like I did in the past. Gifs of action from the game, etc. SO YE!

PS: Please join the discord server and give me lots of compliments and tell me how much you want an update so I can feel good and motivated 👀

NEW WEBSITE!!!1

2019-01-14T14:58:00.000-05:00

Hello guise. Long time no see on the blog.

I just wanted to let you all know that there is a new website that was just released a few days ago.
I built the website in React.js
It allows for a much faster and streamlined way to update the website if I want to add new characters or update the design of the website.
It's also much nicer in design I think and looks much better.

Anyways here it is: https://dbzlf2.com

Resurrection 'DBZ LF2'

2017-09-01T19:49:00.001-04:00

Henlo guise. So it seems there are still quite a few of you out there that still exist and play the game and want moar updaets. The community has increased and a bunch of random peoplez I've never seen in the Little Fighter 2 community have joined the discord server to make their voices heard. "I WANT A NEW VERSION OF THE GAEM!!!!11"

FEAR NOT CITIZENS! Hope has arrived. Because I am here.

You can continue to join the discord server and voice your suggestions in the #suggestions channel. But adhere to the rules in the pinned messages of the #suggestions channel or you will be banned from writing in there again.

https://discord.gg/pfshmqe

I may join the voice channel while I am working and you can join too and talk to me and ask what I'm doing and what I'm working on and shiii~ so ye

Progress will be super slow as I have to set up everything back and I don't even have Photoshop which I used to edit the special effects. (Character sprites are done in MS Paint but the energy attacks and special effects are done in Photoshop and stuffz so ye. Don't expect fast updates so ye. I still have a full time job and other priorities in my life). I shall work on it every once in a while here and there.

Discord community + vote game alive

2017-08-16T17:54:00.003-04:00

I'm back from my trip in Europe. Was gone July 29-August 11.
Lots of people commenting since then and stuffz saying they would like the game to continue. Also my addiction to MapleStory seems to have faded a bit as well after the 2 week absence. So I shall open up a little poll up if you will on Discord. So come join the discord server and help keep ze community live and go to the #project-revive-dbz-lf2-mod channel and vote. If it gets a lot of thumbs up, (originally was thinking 100 but that might be wayyy too high so let's drop it to say around ~50ish) I shall revive the mod and continue working on it 😊

https://discord.gg/6M4vqyv

EDIT: Lots of suspicious accounts joining the server. Multi-account voting not allowed. If I get a suspicion of this kind of activity I shall ban/kick user + remove the reaction.

Update on stuff

2017-07-20T18:56:00.000-04:00

Henlo everyones. Sorry for not issuing a message sooner but I will basically flesh out the situation in this post.

I first made this mod because there weren't any DBZ games on PC (at least good ones that is
👀 ). LF2 vDBZ 2.5 and 3.0 existed but they weren't that great imo. Lots of inconsistent sprites and powers so I decided to make my own version that was true to the anime in movesets and power and stuff. This was a project for myself first and foremost that I decided to share with others. A lot of people enjoyed my version of the game where there were level systems and imbalanced gameplay and it has grown a following. All is well.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse released end of February 2015 and there was a good DBZ game on PC! I still released v0.2.3 end of May 2015 even though my original reason for the mod has been solved, an actual DBZ game on PC. No more need for my mod amirite? However I continued to work on the project and 16 months later I released v0.2.8 (Sept 28, 2016 (my birthday and a month after starting my job)). I continued the mod even though DBZ games coming to PC now bruh. ZOMG! Then a month later Xenoverse 2 came out on PC. Now there are 2 recent DBZ games on PC. And we have news of a new DBZ game coming out in 2018 called Dragon Ball FigtherZ which looks awesome btw!

So I haven't worked on the mod since the last release on Sept 28, 2016. I'm working full time Monday-Friday, 9-5 and then in my free time I mostly just play MapleStory which I started playing again in like the end of 2016 or start of 2017. And so here we are today with the question: What happens to this mod, does it die or continue?

Are there enough people that are even interested in still playing for me to bother taking my time to continue working on the mod. Although my original reason for making the mod is over and now the reason would be if there's enough want for the mod, I would still follow my original direction for the game (an imbalanced DBZ game that uses canon characters but not necessarily canon attacks). I'm thinking maybe if I create a poll on the forum and it gets a lot of votes (like 100 yes votes to continue or something or like the discord server gets like a lot of members that join like 100-150 or something then I know for sure I should continue. Maybe if enough comments on this post signifying interest I can open up said poll and stuffz. (For now if you're really interested in joining the discord server (even tho its a dead server/community of 16 people you can find the link in the forum if you try hard enough kek).

Installed old HDD

2016-12-26T11:39:00.000-05:00

So I finally removed my old HDD and installed it into my new computer.

It's been less than 5 minutes and I already regret it cause it's so LOUD!

The mod has has been on hiatus the last 3 months as I haven't touched it since September 28 when v0.2.8 came out. Maybe I'll start working on it again now that I have the old files available.

But like this new computer is letting me play games I couldn't play before and now all my free time after work is going to gaming :P

I'll keep you guys posted.

Power Scaling Poll

2016-12-13T18:57:00.004-05:00

Pls go vote

Thanks

Dragon Ball Super

So I stopped watching Dragon Ball Super at episode 24 back when it aired so at the end of December. So it was over 6 months of not watching. I just started watching it again on June 7. I watched 23 episodes in 8 days and now I'm caught up again.

I really liked episode 32 and 42. So funny. Anyways I'm back in the DBS thang. Maybe I scrap DBZ mod and do a DBS mod? :P

Update - Temporarily Frozen

2015-11-29T10:55:00.003-05:00

So I haven't made an update in a while and I guess I should keep you guys in the loop if you still care :P

I haven't worked on the mod in over a month. I have frozen the project temporarily until I find a job. Once I find a job I'll spend some of my free time on this mod, however, progress will be just as slow if not slower so it'll still suck.

That's about it I guess. Sorry for those who have been waiting for the next version. You'll probably have to wait another couple of months.

SPECIAL POST! / Ultimate Gohan - Air Throw

2015-09-28T10:18:00.000-04:00

ZOMG! THIS IS THE 100TH POST ON THIS BLOG!!!
Today is also my birthday!
And here's a new move for Ultimate Gohan
A new throw attack! Toss the enemies into the air - allows for SOME combos.
HOWEVER! Be careful of the falling body because it can hurt you if it touches you!!!

Jaw Surgery

2015-09-26T13:50:00.001-04:00

This post is a personal post but affects the mod so I might as well post it.
On Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015 I underwent double jaw surgery to fix a severe underbite and was in the hospital for 2 days.

To keep this short, I will be busy, lazy, tired, in pain and swollen for the next few weeks and progress on the mod will be heavily delayed.
My online presence will also be fairly lacking.

I also have 1 class left till I graduate which is on Mondays and it's a hard course that I'm no good at, so a lot of my time and energies will be focused on that as well.

Sorry for the inconvenience and delays of the next version of the mod, but it cannot be helped for now.

I hope you guys stick around as the next update will be a big one! (when it does come out)

Ultimate Gohan - Dragonthrow

2015-09-17T13:46:00.000-04:00

It's like Goku's but different!

SS Future Trunks [Armour] - Change the Future

2015-09-11T12:04:00.002-04:00

ZOMG!!! Finally an update to SS Trunks!!!
The basic sprites are only like 30% done but I decided to work on an attack so there is still some progress on him and SHOWABLE progress, because who wants to see basic sprites? So bland and blargh!

Click it to open it in gfycat.com and see it in proper size

Based off the attack he used to DESTROY Future 18

I even allowed for deflecting ki blasts! It's a bit different than Double Galick Cannon.
You fly forward (can also travel on z-axis) until you reach thee enemy, and while you're flying you can press Attack to swipe around to deflect ki blasts
You can press Defend to stop (will go into rowing)

Ultimate Gohan - Burst Rush

2015-09-02T16:55:00.001-04:00

The anime kind of ends the attack there, so if you go to the Manga, you can see he continues by kicking him up into the air and backhands him.
In the anime later on in the fight though when they are inside a mountain? (or whatever) Gohan tosses Buu into the air rather than kicking him then flies up to backhand him.

Click one of the manga pages to fullscreen it and scroll through for better look
