Forgive the lack of quality in these photos, I only had my iphone to snap them. . . Anyway I'm totally swoon over the Marni for HM collab and I can't wait for it to come out! As I was looking through the looks for the tenth time I realized that an inspired manicure was in order. There's no trick, I did this free-hand - which is pretty obvious considering the jagged lines. But not too hard nonetheless. Using nail art pens would make this a lot easier; if I think of any other magical way to do this I'll let ya know via twitter!

Sorry for the lack of posts this weekend, I finished my two hardest classes and a few days away from the computer screen is good for the soul. Anyway it felt like summer yesterday in Phoenix, 80 degrees and perfectly sunny. I can't wait to get into this summer groove! By the way I got my hair done last week, went ombre (@ Altered Ego Salon). . do you like!

I did this half-moon style manicure in this post too. It's easy and fun, the instructions are right this way. I did the neon line free hand so it's kind of jagged, another way could be to use two binder reinforcements, leaving a space for the neon and painting there. Funkyyy

let's talk breakfast: toast 3 ways

So here's part two of my Sunday morning breakfast series "Let's Talk Breakfast!" This week, toast three ways. Toast is a breakfast tradition, but let's be real and forget about toast + butter (unless 1. you're hungover or 2. you're going for an easy out-the-door hunger fix). These three are lot more nutritious, filling and tasty.

One: Dressed Up Peanut Butter Toast

INGREDIENTS:
- bread of your choice, mine is whole wheat
- chunky peanut butter (or smooth)... or almond butter!
- honey
- sliced fruit of your choice, mine is plums

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Toast your bread.
2. Spread about a tablespoon of peanut butter across the piece of toast.
3. Drizzle about a teaspoon of honey on top and smooth evenly with a knife.
4. Thinly slice your fruit. I wanted to do something other than the popular banana, and the contrast of the sweet peanut butter with a semi-sweet/semi-tart plum was fantastic. (Apples, bananas, peaches would also be great!)
5. Serve with another nutritious snack: oranges, raisins, almonds, walnuts.

Two: Cheese + Jam Toast (I fell in love with this combination in Portugal)

INGREDIENTS:
- bread of your choice, mine is whole wheat
- 1 tbsp spreadable cheese, I used swiss
- 1 tsp chopped basil
- 1/2 tbsp apricot jam (or your jam of choice)

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Toast your bread.
2. Mix the cheese and basil together in a small bowl.
3. Spread the mixture across the piece of toast.
4. Add the apricot jam. I used apricot, it's sweet and savory - another great option would be pumpkin, blackberry or orange marmalade.
5. Serve with another nutritious snack: oranges, raisins, almonds, walnuts.

Three: Mixed Up Avocado Toast

INGREDIENTS:
- bread of your choice, mine is sourdough
- 1/4 avocado, mashed
- half of one small lemon
- 1 tsp chopped basil
- 6-8 cherry or grape tomatoes
- 1/2 tbsp goat cheese
- sea salt

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Halve your tomatoes, drizzle with olive oil salt + pepper. Roast them in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.
2. Mix the avocado, basil and half of one lemon in a bowl.
3. Toast your bread.
4. Spread the goat cheese and avocado mixture on the piece of toast.
5. Arrange your tomatoes on top.
6. Sprinkle with sea salt.
7. Serve with another nutritious snack: oranges, raisins, almonds, walnuts.

Each of these variations of toast includes omega-3 fatty acids, fiber and tons of nutrients. This is going to keep you fuller for much longer, rather than that plain bread + butter. And each recipe is super easy right?? It's all about having the ingredients available. Note: All recipes are for one serving. Check out last weeks Let's Talk Breakfast recipe here.

Wild Things: COACD Go Sees 2000 - 2010, a book created by Douglas Perrett who is the founder and creative director of the casting agency COACD. This book won't be available to the public as there are only 250 copies being made for COACD's client list... but we do have these! So crazy to see how these supermodels have transformed.

How amazing is this manicure via Syl + Sam? I've seen polka dot nails before but they're taking it to a whole other level with the addition of neon. Obsessed!! I am totally doing this when I have time to breathe next week when my two hardest classes are over!
