Des Moines Cycle Club Race Team is looking for an intern to assist with promotions during the upcoming race season (now through August). The team is seeking assistance with the following:
-Updating and improving our team website at www.dmccraceteam.com
-Having more branded team apparel and gear (we need to produce new banners, more waterbottles, team t-shirts, and team socks).
-Having a more active presence on our team Facebook page.
-Being more active with press releases and generating media for our riders (and sponsors).
-Doing more to promote our sponsors and their relationship to our team.
-Taking photos and documenting our team activities.

A $500 stipend is provided. Some travel in Iowa included if interested and available.

WOOD magazine looking for video producer

Meredith Corp.’s WOOD magazine is offering a summer internship for a video producer.

This person will be responsible for helping to shoot, and do all of the editing for two to three long-form (approximately 60 minutes) videos over the course of the summer. Some video graphics experience using Photoshop and/or AfterEffects would also be a plus, but not essential. Please submit materials as directed on the Meredith website.

Advertising Age editor Abbey Klaassen, a 2002 graduate of the SJMC magazine program, will be on campus Wednesday, Feb. 1. She will deliver a speech on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in Cowles Reading Room on “Resume for Success in the Digital Age.”

Klaassen will discuss how businesses are innovating with technology, information and access, and what students need to know and do today to thrive in the fast-growing mobile marketplace.

Klaassen’s visit is sponsored by the E.T. Meredith Center for Magazine Studies’ Visiting Professionals Series. SJMC students are also invited to attend the following classes on Wednesday to hear Klaassen speak:
