Don't get too caught up in little minor highlight details. The other tip we provide in the podcast is to place an extreme dark value next to a bright white value. Juxtaposing dark values next to white values in strategic locations will add to the reflective quality of glass.

Try setting up your own glass still-life this weekend. Get some iced tea and start drawing. Let us know how it goes. Post your drawing up over at our facebook fan page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Drawing-Tutorials-Online/385785598072?ref=ts

I've spoken many times before about the importance of drawing the figure with anatomy in mind. Upon finishing up Anatomy Lesson Eighteen over at Drawing Tutorials Online I decided to create this short podcast. Most artists want to be able to draw competently from their memory. As you follow along with me in this podcast I demonstrate how you can do just that. You can change things around within a figure when you combine anatomy with form. As far as I am concerned anatomy and form are one in the same.

Try this exercise for yourself. Draw a person from a photo and then change up the pose. Lift one leg higher or lower an arm. It's a very fun exercise. It can also be a frustrating exercise. So be patient with yourself. Make sure you are equipped with the proper knowledge. To learn more about anatomy visit Our Anatomy Department to read up on what we have to offer.

Thanks for watching!

I’ve been super busy with the launch of my new panting site. So something had to slip and it was the podcast. Well the new site is launched and it is accessible to members of Drawing Tutorials Online only. At least for now. When I feel comfortable that it has a certain amount of content I will announce the site this Fall. I am very excited about getting back into oil painting in a big way. Okay now to the podcast. Members of DTO have been requesting a How To Draw A Tree tutorial. Drawing a tree is a lot like figure drawing. You can utilize many techniques like gesture, convex line, light and shade just to name a few. I am currently working on a long video tutorial titled “How to Draw A Tree with Character”. I have a ways to go with the drawing but for now enjoy the podcast. Members of drawing tutorials online can expect part one of the drawing lesson to be live this Friday. </itunes:summary>
