Not going to lie, when we first got there, I was so mad. I was sad to leave Positano in general, but then when I saw Florence, I wasn’t impressed. Turns out the spots that we were walking around in at first are some of the most run-down. LOL. We both looked at each other during that first lunch and were like “whyyyy did we just leave paradise for this?!” There are so many beautiful and historic locations in Italy that you can visit, but to us, Florence wasn’t what we were looking for, maybe if we went more rural? Like the abruzzi italy region? We’ll have to pencil that in for next time!

But here’s the moral of our WHOLE EUROPEAN ADVENTURE: if you feel like it’s not beautiful or safe, just keep walking. You WILL eventually run in to a spot that is breathtaking. Safe. Exactly what you imagined!

We had zero plans for Florence (much like the rest of our trip!) so when we got there we were a little overwhelmed with where to begin. Like i said, our first lunch and first few hours sucked. But then we wandered until we found the Duomo. And that was beautiful! IF we had planned better, we would’ve bought the “skip the line” passes online, but we didn’t, and by time we were there-all those style passes were sold out. And the actual line was easily two hours long.

We are not history buffs, and I honestly just didn’t want to wait that long, while we could be out exploring and actually taking in the city. So we made the decision to veto the Duomo, and explore around.

We had a fun day of shopping (the first time we did on this trip) and scored some amazing things! There are markets alllllll over with a million and one leather bags, jackets, etc. if you go in there, or really almost any of the leather shops- haggle your price. We were dumb Americans and paid $40 for a backpack for Georgia in one shop, and two doors down they had the same exact thing for $10. No joke. And they totally all have the exact same stuff, so definitely don’t ever pay full price. THEY WILL make you a deal.

We went to a few vintage shops-but my fav one was vintage shop I found an amazing jumper, dress, and scarf there. And the people who work that store were some of our favorite strangers from the trip. So so kind.

That first night we tried to go to a restaurant but the wait was at least an hour, so we booked it online for the next night and went to a different spot. And we were so happy we did because it was probably the most memorable night of our time just us two! Thank goodness we were able to book online as we would never have been able to go. Restaurants take note! If you do not have a website that can do this then you may want to check out some Restaurant Website Design Ideas or talk to a web developer so you can, as it will certainly help people come to your restaurant

Restaurants we loved:

-Trattoria za za-probably the best Italian meal I had. MAKE SURE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS. The line is never ever short here. We had the a few pasta dishes here and they were all heaven.

-le menaguere- basically like Anthropologie on steroids! It’s a flower market, small goods shop, restaurant, bistro, and live music venue all rolled in to one. SOOO cute! And they have some sort of live music almost every night-with every Tuesday being a cover band for The Beatles. That was what we got to experience and it was the best. We literally were out till two just dancing and laughing so much. Best night!

–the rooftop bar for sunset overlooking the Duomo. The drinks were good but the view was spectacular. Go at sunset and enjoy!

–gelato everywhere is basically awesome. And we took part in it daily ??

-there is a speakeasy on the other side of the river that you have to go to! It’s called Rasputin. It’s no joke to find, but ask around! It’s a 1920’s vibe, super beautifully decorated, and the cocktails are wild!

The last night we were there was the only night we crossed the river, and I totally regret that!! We should’ve spent most of our time over there. It was way more authentic and beautiful. Next time we know:) Next time we would stay on the other side of the River and explore fully over there! And maybe go into the countryside a little bit too! Our trip just wasn’t long enough. Are they ever?!

We did go to a spa while there, SOULSPACE. It wasn’t amazing, and I would’ve skipped it if I had known. I don’t know if it’s a European thing, but neither massage that we had was focused much on the back st all. Way more focus on the legs and feet. But unlike the massage I had in Spain, this one just wasn’t great and the spa itself wasn’t awesome.

Ostia, Italy

We spent our last day in Ostia. It’s apparently a really popular spot for locals during the summer, since it’s right on the beach. To be honest-we only stayed there because we had a 9am flight the next day, and we knew we wouldn’t want to have to drive in from somewhere far away. As it was, we were already having to get up at 5:30am to make it!

Ostia was interesting ? jeremy and I learned by the end of this trip that, MAN, we almost always happen to choose the wrong directon to walk. We stayed at Fly Deco, which was fairly nice (definitely the newest hotel in the area). When we first arrived we walked out the hotel to the left, and let me tell you, we should’ve gone right.

Most places weren’t open yet since it wasn’t season, so that didn’t help either. But we had never seen a beach town so run down and vacant. We are used to US beaches, where almost everything is always so nice and fixed up since it’s such prime real estate. But not here.

We did find a cute little spot on the water that had drinks and light food. And then at dinner time we had the sense to walk the opposite direction and found a much nicer area! And turns out-we actually had the best pizza of the entire trip there!

We got to talking with a nice guy from London (who lived in Ostia currently) and he was telling us how this whole city used to be heavily run by the Mafia. There were three families that ran everything, and then one day about three years ago, one of the heads of the family took a bat to a reporter, and it got cops brought in, and basically since then the focus has been to clean it up and kick the mafia out. He told us some wild stories!!

Anyways! The best restaurant there was pizza So cute, and incredible food!!!

The airport was about a 15 minute taxi ride, which is nice for early flights. You could always stay in actual Rome, and take a taxi or the metro to get to the airport, but again, we didn’t want to be up an earlier than our already early wake up call!

AND THAT’S IT! Our incredible Europe trip that was 2 weeks long and yet not long enough!! Can’t wait to go back!

My new favorite place on this earth. Seriously. I could’ve easily stayed there for  another week and been so happy. Positano is actually the place that I had dreamed about going to for years!! A blogger years and years ago shared about her trip there, and ever since, I knew I had to make it happen one day. Imagine having a home here, it would be the ultimate luxury. I know a few people who have been on holiday and thought about potentially buying property in the area they stayed in as they loved it so much. Just recently I heard through a friend of a friend that they were planning on buying a Spanish property for the family to use and they went through the whole process to get it done (wasn’t just a dream for them!) They even used a mortgage calculator, read this blog content from Simon Conn to see why this is important, so they could get the best deal for what they wanted. I’m just dreaming my Italian property dream, looks like they are living it.

When we arrived at 12:30 am and it was all dark, I was bummed. But man, when I got to take it all in the next morning, I legit cried tears of happiness multiple times. There is nothing else like it there. 

We were expecting it to be freezing the whole time since the forecast said mid to low 50’s (which to this AZ girl is straight up winter!). But it turned out to be beautiful. The first day we were there we were at the beach in clothes (again, didn’t even think of wearing our suits since the temp said cold!), and we were actually sweating a little in the sun!

So then the next day I made sure we had our suits, paid for lounge chairs, and then of course it only had pockets of sun, but mostly windy and drizzly ? oh well. I was just so thankful to be there. 

Our hotel we stayed at was hotel villa Franca. It was amazing! It was at the very top of the hill, which lead to having the most UNREAL views all around. It wasn’t cheap to stay at (I think it was around $400/night) but omg, worth every penny. 

Only one hotel is really big in Positano (le sirenuse), and villa Franca I believe had less than 40 rooms. The lobby, bar, restaurant areas were all gorgeous. And SO many windows all with the breathtaking view of Positano. 

The breakfast there is FREE, and is EPIC! They have a “buffet” of sorts that you can just grab stuff, but then also have an incredible chef that will make you basically anything you want. And all the endless cappuccinos and coffees. All the whole the whole doors are open with a breeze and sun pouring in. I could’ve sat at that breakfast spot for hours! And it was amazing that it was all free, because if we would’ve gone out to order all that we did there daily, it seriously would’ve been like $40-50! So take that in to account when looking at the hotel price!

The bar was good, tiny but good. And all places in Europe always bring you a plate of snacks with your drink. At first we were always confused because we were like, “um we didn’t order these things”, but it happens everywhere! The one thing we did not like about the hotel was the dinner. I believe it was even a Michelin Star restaurant, but man it was not for us. Too stuffy. Too fancy. Approximately 6 servers constantly hovering, attending to your every need (which sounds nice, but was actually quite overwhelming). So IF you like that vibe, go for it. But it wasn’t our jam. 

The pool at this hotel was unreal. And I can only imagine how much better it would be in the warmer months. In summer the pool is open all day, and has tables for drinks at night. It was closed in the evenings while we were there, since it isn’t “season” yet, so I was bummed. But man, in June I bet it’s magic! Speaking of timing, everyone said DO NOTTTT go in August. That is hands down the busiest month ever there, and it’s super overwhelming. They said may and June are great (June warm enough to where you can even enjoy the water). July gets a lot busier, and August is way too much. 

If we had more time there, and it was warmer out, I would’ve lovedddd to have gone out on a boat. There were so many on the water!

We did zero shopping here. They had some cute linen shops, but in general, everything was touristy and over priced. And we knew Florence was next, and supposedly that had amazing shopping. 

Restaurants we loved:

There was a little bar down at the beach with couches and chair right on the sand. And the food from there (specifically the pizza) was actually really good! And they also have lounge chairs that you can rent for 10 euro each, which we did! 

We also went to pizza cave for dinner one night, and it was great! People freak out saying it’s fun because it’s in a cave, but don’t get your hopes up too much for that. Lol. It’s basically like two tables that really have that feel, and the rest is normal. But the food was great. Some of the best prosciutto and cheese I’ve ever had. 

We also went and had a drink at le sirenuse one night since everyone raves about it. The views were amazing, and the drinks were good (albeit probably the priciest of our whole trip).

Positano truly stole my heart. I WILL go back there someday. I don’t care if it’s not till I’m old and grey, I will experience it again! Preferably not that long of a wait, since those hills and steps are NO JOKE!

-there isn’t much public transport in Positano. They have buses, but holy crap I can’t imagine being in one on those tighttttt small roads! So we flew from Spain in to Naples, and then took a DayTrip driver to take us in (and out) of Positano. It was around $120 for the nicer car option, and both times we were taken in a very nice Mercedes. If you can squeeze that in your budget, definitely do it. I’ve heard the buses to ferry to whatever else is a lot of navigate. And if you don’t care if the car is as nice, the cheaper option is $90 I believe. And it’s just over an hour to and from Naples to Positano (where there’s the airport and train station)

We went to Seville Spain for Young Livings Diamond retreat. [read more about what that means here] It was beyond incredible, all expenses paid, with gifts and surprises every single day. I mean, epic surprises y’all.

One day they gave us beautiful warm jackets and told us to be up early the next day because we were going in a hot air balloon. Umm, this wasn’t just like any other experience though. They broke Spain’s record for having the most balloons take off at once. Even had to import balloons in from other countries to have enough. I believe we had 38 balloons take off that morning. And we flew over beautiful farming fields. It was beyond incredible. It also didn’t hurt that it happened to be on Jeremy and my 11 year anniversary. Talk about a memorable day!

Then for the final night, we arrived by horse drawn carriage to the Plaza, which they had rented out for a private dinner. This NEVERRRRR happens! It was spectacular.

Spain had all the Europe classic looks I was longing for. Beautiful old architecture, cobblestone streets, live music, and cafes all over. We had even thought of renting a car from the likes of StressFreeCarRental.com and driving around. Wherever we went, the people there were so kind. But here’s one thing that is REALLLL for Spain! Dinner is late. I’m not talking like 8 pm, I’m talking like 10 pm. Some restaurants are open with food earlier, but a lot, especially the nicer ones, don’t have the kitchen even open up till 9. You can get drinks earlier, but that’s it. So, eat a late lunch, get gelato, do an extended happy hour, and dive in at 10 pm!

Also, Spain had the cheapest prices for wine ever. I’m talking $3.50 euro for a glass of wine from our hotel bar. A whole bottle that was considered nice for $15. Insane!! Seriously, sometimes the wine was cheaper than the water!

Now if you are a spa lover, you HAVEEEE to make time for Aire spa! It was an incredible experience, unlike anything I’ve ever done before. And I’m a spa junkie. Lol. You only need about 2-3 hours there, but make the time for it. It is basically all in a cave [man made, but hey- ill take it!] with these incredible salt baths. No lights, just candles. Then there is a rooftop salt bath that overlooks the city. It was beyond anything I could have dreamed of. The massages themselves were very different from the US. They give you these basically paper underwear to wear and then everyone is in one big [dark and quiet] room together with just sheets dividing the spaces. Felt weird but the massage was incredible so I didn’t care!

Spain was INCREDIBLE. But if I am being totally honest, the people we were there with was the best part. Getting to be in a brand new place with some of our favorite people truly made it exceptional.

You see, back when I was a Sophomore in college, my sister and I started planning our trip to Europe. We were going to go during the summer, and we’re so excited. We were clueless as to where we were going to go, but we were going to make it happen! And then something big happened in our family that changed our lives, and definitely made Europe not a possibility.

While I was so sad at the time, I’m so thankful that at 32 years old, I finally got to go- and with my hubby AND friends!

AND our time in Spain was all expenses covered by Young Living, so that obviously made it really incredible!

This blog post isn’t going to be an all inclusive guide to Europe. I am farrrrr from an expert, but I will share the things we learned along the way. Good and bad.

First off, our trip was two weeks long. For all the places we wanted to see, we could’ve been there for a month, easy. But you see, we have three amazing babies at home, so two weeks was definitely our max! And at the veryyyy end, we actually were ready to be home.

We spent almost an entire week in Seville, Spain. That whole portion was with our Young Living friends. And then it was just us two for Italy. We did Positano, Florence, and just a quick day in Ostia (right outside of Rome). There are still lots of different places I want to visit in Europe (including this voco Oxford Spires hotel which looks stunning!) But I think I’ll have to save up for a while before I go travelling again.

Writing those words still feels surreal. I can’t believe we got to go and experience all of the beauty we did. So thankful.

First let’s talk about what you definitely need to buy before this trip!

–a converter/adapter. Now listen friend! There is a difference. A LOT of products that you need to charge, like Apple products, etc can be used in Europe with just using an adapter. The one I linked is great because it has a ton of outlets and USB ports!

–Curling Iron. But if you have a blow dryer, curling iron, or straightener that you absolutely insist on bringing, you’ll also need a converter. I figured all the hotels would have a blow drier (they did), so I skipped that. I did however buy a cheap curling iron here so that I could use it with just an adapter instead of having to get a pricier converter/adapter. I figured it would be nice to have a cheap one to travel with in general, so i went this route. It worked great, and was great for peace of mind knowing I wasn’t going to blow a fuse/break my regular curling iron.

One of our hotels actually said they had adapters at the desk if you need one, but definitely don’t rely on that. And some of our hotels had USB outlets by the bed which was nice for our phones. But again, don’t rely on that.

-Exchange your money. You’ll also want to exchange your money at your bank before leaving, in order to get the best exchange rate. There are atms all over, AND most (not all!) places accept credit cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve Canada card, but to get the best rate, do it at home.

Speaking of money, in Florence a lot of stores we shopped at (which it might be everywhere, but we didn’t shop in any of our other destinations) offered tax free shopping for non-EU residents. You have to show them your passport, and they give you a special receipt that you take with you to the airport. After checking in, there will be a place you can take those receipts and get your money back. It really adds up!

Stuff needed for the flight

–Compressions socks. Another thing you will definitely want to grab beforehand is compression socks. We have a pair of both female and men’s compression socks, which we comfortable use around the house. And I have a friend use who wore them while she’s pregnant to help with her feet, she loved them! They seem unnecessary, but trust me, on a flight longer than like 4 hours you will be glad you have them! A friend of mine told me to try out sockwellusa.com a few months ago and we have not looked back since! Even on our 11 hour flight from Rome to Dallas, we had no swelling. But they are not just for swelling, they can also prevent blood clots. I grabbed these from amazon and they worked amazing too. And when you get to your destination, nothing will feel better than taking those bad boys off!

–Neck Pillow. Get this neck pillow! It worked great, didn’t take up as much room as the normal ones, AND is machine washable.

–Comfy cardigan. this cardigan is pretty cheap and SO soft. You want layers upon layers for your flights. Most of our flights were freaking freezing, but one was warm. So layer it up! And that Max and Mia cardigan is so soft, BUT MAKE SURE to wash it a few times before your trip. It sheds like crazy with only one or two washes. Another cardigan option thats even more amazing, but more pricey, is this one!

-Make sure to bring your usb cord for charging your phone. In Premium Economy, they provide you with a blanket, eye mask, ear plugs, headphones, and even a mini little toiletry set for refreshing. I’m honestly not sure what they give you in economy, but we loved all the stuff they provided for us.

-We also made sure we had our thieves wipes and hand purifier available at all times, because yuck! I also brought Immupro on the plane for helping with sleep! It also boosts your immune system, which is a huge bonus! And if you wear contacts, do yourself a favor and bring a case with solution already in it, and your glasses. Your eyes will want the rest during the flight.

Safety

I bought a cute little fanny pack from target for this trip, and I’m so glad I did. My phone case blocks radiation, so it already protects against people being able to steal your card info, but if you are concerned about that, or are knowing you’ll be in unsafe areas-look into one of these types of purses. While in the airport, I kept both of our passports, my phone, our tickets, chapstick and hand purifier in my fanny pack. All the necessities!

I did wear a purse while walking around sometimes, and felt totally safe. If we went to a super crowded area, I was just aware of my surroundings and kept the purse in front of me.

I should pack what?

Now listen, when I tell you what I packed, know this. I am not a “carry on only” type of girl. I would muchhhh rather fill up an entire big suitcase and have options while there! It was torture to me to only bring one big case and one big backpack. I legit had to just keep pulling stuff out while packing. And even then, we we’re wayyy over EU limits, but I’ll get to that later!

I also made sure to bring a good comfy pair of tennis shoes, BUT I also brought comfy cute shoes and even a fancier pair. Not every single day of our trip was spent walking for miles, so I wanted to be able to have some cuter options while there. I brought:

-1 tennis shoes

-1 fancier shoes

-1 comfy sandals

-1 cute but comfy shoes

I brought 5 pairs of jeans (one white and one black), and then a bunch of tops. I also brought two dresses, one specially for a dress up night for YL, and the other for a night while in Positano.

Last minute the night before we left, I ran to Nordstrom to get a North Face jacket (on serious sale, normally like $250, and I got it for $80!). I knew I would want something warmer than the couple sweaters I was bringing, but all my jackets were seriously bulky and heavy -aka your packing worst nightmare. I’m so glad I bought that, because I definitely put it to use! If you are going in the summer, obviously not an issue, but still bring some sort of layer Incase of cool nights. And FOR SURE have a warm sweater for the plane, all our rides were freezing!

I brought yoga pants for my pj bottoms. It was nice because that way I could wear them as needed. Wear them to bed, but want some comfy pants for that morning? You’re good to go. And only brought 3 PJ tops, and just made sure wore them for bed only, and kept them clean.

We also did do laundry half way through at a local laundry mat. That was an experience to say the least. Most places we went, at least someone around us knew English. Not here though ? and of course we forgot to bring euros with us, and she didn’t take cards. It was a rocky start, but our clothes got washed for cheap. Our hotels service would’ve legit cost us like $300, instead we spent $20. And the laundry mat was right next to a restaurant, so we just went and had breakfast while they got clean. And most laundrymats have detergent included (not an ideal choice of chemicals lol, but it was at least nice not having to go and buy that too)

Hi friends! Its been a minute since I have posted about our flips. The market has been funky for us when it comes to flips lately, so while we used to always have two going at a time, that hasn’t been the case recently.

Which to be honest, I am quite alright with since our life is already so crazy, haha. But I know for Jeremy, he is happiest when he has a flip that he can use as his creative outlet. So here is our most recent one, which was extra sweet to do since it was for some of our closest friends.

We didn’t add on any square footage to this one, just totally gutted almost every inch of the inside, took down walls, and moved where a lot of spaces were. The outcome made for one beautiful, bright, open home for our friends who get to welcome their first little baby in soon!

But here is how it started:

Its pretty much magic what taking down some walls can do, right?! The fun thing with this home was how much original brick was able to be saved and showed off! It always blows me away how so many of our flips have had the most beautiful brick covered up! Show that off friends!

The main living space is nice and open and dreamy, and they are now having a built-in breakfast nook added for a comfy eat-in space. I love that their actual Dining Room space is right off the sliders so once its not 100 degrees out, they will be able to fully open them up and bring the inside out!

The original kitchen wasn’t even in this spot, but here is a Before:

I mean, can we talk about that island for a second? The counters are quartz and look 100% like the real deal of marble, but without the insane hassle of keeping that clean and unstained. Which basically is my fav thing ever. The kitchen is always the heart of a home, so we love focusing big time on that space in a home.

The Master bedroom was the next biggest transformation of this house! It was awesome and big, but so dang random. We kept the fireplace but removed the brick and reframed it. And totally transformed the who space, just look!

The Masterbath is freaking glorious with the fireplace, clawfoot tub, and massive walk-in shower [that has glass doors, they just weren’t in during these photos] haha. And the Master bedroom still has so much space, not to mention light because of the French Doors.

Even the two other bedrooms in the house are stunning. They both got lucky enough to have a wall of the original brick in them, so pretty!

The Guest bathroom was actually not that bad before, but it didn’t fully fit the vibe of the rest of the house. Its amazing what a little bit of paint/new accessories did for this space!

And drumroll please….

The laundry room floors are SO GOOD!

And while this home is so beautiful now, the design and details are far from the best part. Details especially are so important. Small details such as door handles and light switches can be easily overlooked, but these have the potential to change the way a room looks. Recently a friend sent a page similar to this one, to me https://www.architekturzeitung.com/architektur/architektur-deutschland/2709-kaffeebar-von-dia-dittel-architekten.html on some door handles that might be nice to use for a modern look. I also recommend looking for suppliers who can match the style that you are going for when making design decisions on small fixtures. The best part is the family that makes this house a home now. We always love imagining how a family will use and love our homes we flip, so its even more fun when we know and love them. Cannot wait to watch them raise their baby boy here, create so many memories, cherish the holidays, and hopefully have us over for some dinners;)

Hi friends!

So if you follow us on Instagram you know that we are under some SERIOUS construction right now. From big things, such as getting our roof looked at (if you’re looking at roofing company options, get it from here), to cleaning our patio and outdoor space – it’s been non-stop! We thought that we might as well do it all in one go, so the transformation is amazing. However, it is a constant pit of dirt and nails and paint. I’m currently looking at some of the skip bins sutherland shire has available so that I can at least clear some of the waste. I’m so fed up with tripping over rubble! We have been doing this since November, so while it has not been fun at all- IT WILL BE WORTH IT!

One of the things {haha quite literally the only ONE thing} that has been completed during this is our kitchen cabinet makeover. We have been in this home for 5 years now and when we moved in we had the whole kitchen redone, we had new sinks, a dishwasher, in fact, a whole new plumbing system which we did with the help of companies like https://paladinplumbing.com/, of course! Then we went with custom cabinets and used a company that we thought was good. They did white cabinets for us, and while I fully anticipated the white getting dirty, I did NOT anticipate the chipping that happened.

Im talking, within a month of being in the house, the paint was chipping, especially under the sink area. The company just said I must be getting too much water on them. Also, that chipping is ‘totally normal and just part of having painted cabinets’. Well, they lied. Turns out they never primed the cabinets AT ALL. Literally just slapped some paint on them. So ya, they looked like junk 5 years later even with me keeping up with keeping them dry and clean.

So, now that we HAD to redo them because of a leak, and the chipping everywherrrreeee, Jeremy finally got his dream of grey cabinets! I think it would be fair to say that he was very excited about this prospect, and I was too because it meant that we could say goodbye to our broken cabinets and replace them with new and improved versions. Maybe we’ll enlist the help of somewhere like this kitchen cabinets richmond va company to help ensure that they look as good as they can because I would hate for them to break again, especially as we’re going through all this time and effort to try and remodel the room.

I just can’t wait to see how it will turn out.

Because the previous ones were white, we had chrome hardware on them. Chrome and grey paint don’t go together, so we swapped it out for brass. And I have to admit it, I actually like it. I am FULLY drawn to all things white. White and bright is my motto. But the grey looks good! AND will look even better once we paint ALL our walls white this summer:)

We also changed the hood in the makeover. The shiplap top and woodplank bottom look so so so good with the subway tile below!

Our guy Edgar who does all the cabinets in our flips is awesome. We know his work, know it handles kids and water and life, lol, so I am SO happy to now have cabinets that won’t look like junk in a hot minute! We went with the color Silver Polish from Dunn Edwards.

Hope you guys like them! Its a fun change for the eyes.

But now, well now I cannnnottt wait to get this whole renovation done and get started on our Pantry and Dropzone! SO many good projects in the pipeline!

Hey friends!! It’s been a hot minute, right?!

Life is SO good, so crazy, and full- and I love it! We are loving doing this holiday season with all our babies, and just experiencing all the magic through their eyes!

One thing that I have been doing lately that all of you who also follow me on Instagram and Facebook know about, is showing a Day in The Life. How we use natural products seamlessly throughout the day. I feel like SO many people don’t ever start with switching things out because it seems overwhelming- so here is my breakdown of an average day:

-Lets wake up sleepy body and tummy! I LOVE adding a drop of Peppermint in to my coffee in the morning. It jump starts the digestive system, opens up the sinuses, and even makes my coffee taste amazing!

Also, fun and incredible random fact:
Every living thing has an energy, a frequency. A healthy person has a frequency that ranges between 62-78 megahertz (MHz). When our frequency begins to drop, we become susceptible to illness and disease. If our frequency drops below 58 MHz, our body becomes susceptible to disease. At 57 MHz, colds, flu, and other illnesses begin to invade our bodies. Our bodies are receptive to cancer at 42 MHz and death begins at 25 MHz. So, it is very, very important to stay above the wellness line and keep our frequencies up! Good news though, this is where essential oils come in!!!!

-Even holding a cup of coffee can lower your body frequency by 8 MHz (yikes!!!) Taking a sip lowers it by 14 MHz! ??? BUT!!! CHECK THIS OUT: When essential oils are inhaled following exposure to coffee, the bodily frequencies restore themselves in less than a minute. But, if no oils are administered, it can take up to 3 days for the body to recover from just one drink of coffee. CRAZY, RIGHT? Put that peppermint in it, or huff it from the bottle! Raise that frequency friends! Most of the essential oils you’ll want to try are available to buy on the high street, but always read the label because some manufacturers will add other, less favorable ingredients. Look out for the ewg rating as a general rule of thumb when buying any natural wellbeing products, as it helps you to quickly identify what is and isn’t safe.

Supplements are a game changer in our home. I would rather blow my budget on supplements than anything else, truly.

I recently had blood work done and the doctor said that my blood was some of the best he has ever seen. (How awesome that was to hear!)

The kids every day take:
-mightyvites (multivitamin)
-mightyzymes (an enzyme)

-multigreens (amazing source of greens)
-and during the winter, super c chewable
-NINGXIA RED (antioxidant drink that blows my mind with what’s in it)

I would much rather spend money and the time to take supplements daily, to make us all healthy from the inside out, than spend money and time getting us back to healthy from being sick

Shopping carts, parks, classrooms at school, you name it- kids are dirty little things that spread germs like no other {and yet they are the cutest ever too!}

So what do you do to help that? Bust out the hand sanitizer right? Well did you know that
Triclosan is one of the most common ingredients in hand sanitizers and hand soaps these days. Some ways that this effects us you wonder?

Antibiotics are effective against bacteria. But what happens if your body builds up resistance to antibiotics, and in turn promotes resistance to bacteria?
Triclosan contributes to making bacteria resistant to antibiotics. It also disrupts our hormones, and weakens our immune system.

This is a SUPER gentle oil and amazing for helping with the pain of teething! Heres a little info on it:
It helps our bodies do their thing when it comes to injury or irritation. It aids in easing common digestion discomforts when taken internally…oh, sweet relief!
It helps the body regulate its natural immune responses. Always a good thing.
And, well, it’s the main ingredient in Stress Away, so obvi it can be real soothing.
Aaaaand it promotes a youthful appearance from the inside out! Yes please!

I rub this right on to Georgia Mae’s gums, and it provides her so much relief. Mamas, you NEED it!

To make my skin smooth like butter- the Satin Mint facial scrub is amazing.

Its gentle enough for ANYONE to use, and leaves a little tingly feeling afterwards! ?
Then I apply the bestttttt eyecream ever! The Wolfberry Eyecream is SUPER concentrated, a little bit goes a long way. I have had mine for well over 6 months, and still have plenty! Anything that can help slow down the ever growing crows feet is my friend:)

And lipbalm! Did you know that YL has 4 types of lipbalm? Cinnamint, Lavender, Grapefruit, AND my FAV, the Vanillamint that is just seasonal. All are super hydrating and the only thing I use anymore!

Smooth as a baby’s bottom right? That is unless our sweet baby has a diaper rash. As parents we always want to fix whatever ailment our sweet kiddo is dealing with immediately. But did you know that most store bought diaper rash creams are chalk full of toxic ingredients? ?
These are the top 5 worst ones that most contain:

-BHA [EWG score 9] is a synthetic antioxidants used as preservative in products and a known endocrine disruptor and possible carcinogen.
-Fragrance[EWG score 8] commonly represents synthetic chemicals that have been added to products to make them smell appealing. Typically fragrances are associated with allergies, and organ system toxicity.
-Boric acid and sodium borate[EWG score 8] is used as an antimicrobial agent linked to endocrine disruption and reproductive toxicity.
-Petrolatum [EWG score 4] is mineral oil jelly i.e. petroleum jelly and is used as a barrier to lock moisture in the skin. It is a carcinogen and linked to organ system toxicity.
-Parabens- propyl, methyl, ethyl etc [EWG score 7] are the most widely used preservative in cosmetics. They easily penetrate the skin and can mimic estrogen, and can act as a potential hormone system disruptor.

Go do yourself a favor, open up the Think Dirty app, and scan some products in your bathroom. Lotions included. And then ditch that junk and get this!

Mirah shave oil, except I use it for the ends of my hair;) This stuff smells like a slice of heaven, and makes my ends SO silky- but not weighed down. Its also amazing to use almost like a lotion, but use it sparingly:) And of course, ESP. if you are someone who suffers with getting razorburn, this will be your BFF!

Immune roller rolled on, Vetiver on my big toe for sleep, and Frank dropped under my tongue for immune support and emotional balance. Then its the diffuser. Tonight we have Frank and RC going. Smells so warm and calming, and puts us right out {while breathing well!}

This diffuser is new to me and I loveee it. It has like 9 color options, even a candle flicker mode. It also can run for up to 10 hours! Hello solid nights sleep for even your babies while they have this running ALL night!

Something happened last month that I am basically not ok with. Our baby girl turned one. I don’t know how it happened, because I certainly didn’t approve of it.

Georgia is our little love bug. She is quite literally the happiest baby I have ever been around. Always smiling, laughing, expressing herself. She is crazy, in the best way possible.

I didn’t know how I wanted to celebrate her. The older I get the less I care about what other people think in general {lol- whoops- is that ok to admit?!} so I haven’t been one to do parties with a ton of little details. ESP. for my boys because they truly could care less about the decor. They just want their friends, yummy food, and to play. But for Georgia, knowing that it was my last time throwing a 1st Birthday, I wanted it to have some sort of theme.

Our little Georgia peach had a peach themed party and it was perfect. We had a bunch of family and friends, good food, a backyard for the bigger kids to go crazy in, and a sweet little smash cake for her.

For food I made peach flavored cake and cupcakes. The cupcakes even had a little Peach shape to them by using the nifty tinfoil trick in the oven. The smash cake was on top of the regular cake that we served. Perfect because we just took it off for her, and were still able to give our guests un-baby slobbered cake;)

Inside we had pulled pork sandwiches with pretzel buns, salad, donuts {DUH} and fruit salad served in waffle cones. The cones were a big hit with the kids!

The drinks were Peach Sangria and Peach Bellini from Trader Joes. SO yummy and easy on my end!

For the decor, I kept it pretty simple. Peaches in a flower vase, peach shaped balloons, photos from her whole first year strung up, flowers, etc. Nothing over the top, but simple and sweet just like her.

The photo backdrop was super easy. We used the old wood from the ship wall hanging from Winstons old room and added some fake greenery and flowers from Michaels. I got the One balloon on Amazon {Prime is my BFF}. The photos were strung up on a little kit I also got on Amazon. It was really fun and sweet to be able to look through all the photos of her first year. What a blessing she has been.

She was seriously so fun to celebrate.

And in case you missed it on FB and IG, I shared about my ‘fabulous top’ I wore that day. I have worn this top probably five times, and apparently its a freaking ROMPER. As in, NOT a top. LOL. I had been wearing it with one of the leg holes on the side. My girl Kylie broke the news to me. Ohh fashion, you and I just aren’t meant to be.

Georgia Mae,

Your first year of life has been the biggest blessing of all. You, my angel baby, are Heaven sent. Truly. I prayed and prayed I would get the blessing of having a third baby, and especially a baby girl. What I didn’t know was that not only would I get that, but SO much more.

You are my light, my happy place, my instant mood lifter. You truly make my heart swell. I pray that your dada and I can guide you the best way possible in life. That you will grow up knowing how loved and treasured you are. How much God loves you. You are the BEST, baby girl. I love you to the moon.
