Make your own fitted sheet using this tutorial. I kept my cost super low by taking always picking fabrics on sale or clearance. I also picked up (2) solid lime green twin fitted sheets (not pictured) at Walmart for $4.47 each and split it long ways and got two from each sheet.

Cost breaks down to about $0.52 each for 16 burritos or less if items on sale. Much bigger, better and healther than the fast food versions. I have added shredded or baked potatoes, salsa, sour cream, red and green peppers to mine to make it even better.

Just take out of foil before work, place in microwave and out the door you go.

Freezer Friendly BBQ Meatballs

Once they freeze on the dish I just scoop them into a freezer bag and label them. I have also changed the recipe to 2 lbs ground beef and 1 lb ground turkey. I also bake frozen (no need to thaw) for 45 first drain then make the sauce and bake for another 15-20 minutes.

I made a couple of these a few weeks ago and filled them with some goodies for my nieces and nephews. It was great for them because all are to young for school but wanted to be like the big kids. I already had the material so I just needed the rope. AC Moore sells the rope for $0.20.yd.

Homemade Burritos

I have been making these yummy Beef Burritos for about 4 months now and they are very freezer and budget friendly. Perfect for lunch and a snack.

Cost break down:

(2) 8 ct Kroger Brand Tortillas (in cold section with cheese) $1.35 each
(2) Vegetarian Refried Beans $0.99 each
(2) Enchilada Sauce $0.99 each
1 lb Ground Beef $3.00 (sub ground chicken or turkey)
1 Taco Seasoning Pack $0.39
8 oz Sour Cream (my change) $1.00
8 oz Salsa (my change) $0.60
1 1/2 cup Cooked rice (my change) $0.60
3 cups shredded cheese $1.50
1/2 cup chopped onion (my change) $0.30

Total $14.05 for 16 Burritos or $0.88 each

I have always been able to find these items on sale so my cost has always been lower. These sale at the grocery stores for $1.00 or more each. I have piece of mind and know what my family is eating. The 25 ct. Reynolds Wrap Burritos can be purchased at Dollar Tree and I reuse these for each batch.

I stopped by Food Lion across from Once Upon A Child to pick up some produce and noticed they Wisk Liquid Detergent 50 oz. on closeout for $3.39.
