In association with Hometapes, Dreamboat Records will release Bear In Heaven’s Beast Rest Forth Mouth in April. You can stream or download a track on our website from today.

Beast Rest Forth Mouth’s US release in October 2009 triggered an avalanche of praise including Pitchfork’s coveted Best New Music award. Hometapes, in association with Dreamboat Records, are now set to follow up that success with the albums’ 2010 European release. Both CD and vinyl editions feature deluxe packaging and the LP will be available in two colorways.

Following a springtime North American tour with Cymbals Eat Guitars, including a stop at SXSW, Bear In Heaven will make their first trip to Europe for a month-long tour in April in May.

We’re very pleased to announce the release our third independent film soundtrack. Xialolu Guo’s festival hit She A Chinese features an original score by songwriter and producer John Parish.

His unmistakable musical signature runs throughout the album (preview a track here!), which also features Chinese punk rock and a track from Feist.

The CD album is available for pre-order now and will be released on 23 February, with an iTunes release to follow a week later.

While everyone is wrapping up for the year there are two final chances for live Dreamboat fun in 2009 and they are both on 13 December. The downside is you need to be in either Japan or Russia (replace downside, with upside if you live in either of those places):

The soundtrack to the forthcoming feature film Morris: A Life With Bells On will be available through Dreamboat Records from 28 September. It is 32 tracks of original folk, orchestral and morris music written by Richard Lumsden, who also stars in the film. John Dipper, Saul Rose and Laurel Swift also feature on the record.

The film is a mockumentary that follows the fortunes of one of the leading Morris teams in the country, Milsham Morris, and in particular those of its avant garde leader Derecq Twist. It stars Derek Jacobi, Naomie Harris, Ian Hart and Greg Wise, among others.

We’re delighted to announce that Kate Stables and Rachel Dadd, aka Whalebone Polly, have joined forces with Dreamboat to release their long awaited E.P. Taproot and Sill on limited edition 10″ brown vinyl.

Following a two year break in which they worked on other projects (Kate with This is the Kit, Rachel on here solo work and with The Hand), they are now ready to release the follow up to their 2007 album Recordings with the Window Open.

Here’s a quick Dreamboat summer update before we announce an exciting new addition to the Dreamboat Records roster later in August:

Robin Allender is as busy as ever playing guitar for Yann Tiersen on their world tour. The Gala Band have just played Glastonbury and will be playing the show at Colston Hall’s grand re-opening night in Bristol as a two piece Saturday 15th September. And finally, The Rollercoaster Project will release his fantastic new album “Revenge” next month with our friends at Absolutely Kosher Records.

Hot on the heels of his star turn in How To Be, The Rollercoaster Project will be performing his music on May 27 in Hay-on-Wye at How The Light Gets In — the UK’s first ever philosophy and music festival. The festival is running from May 22-31 at the same time as the Hay Literary Festival and has a great line up of bands, comedy and speakers, including music from Michael Nyman, Stephen Fretwell and Jeremy Warmsley, debates and speeches with Zygmunt Bauman, AC Grayling, Simon Blackburn, Will Hutton, Phillip Blond and more, and comedy sketches from Ed Aczel and Robin Ince, among others. How To Be is the new comedy feature directed by Oliver Irving. It stars Robert Pattinson and Dreamboat Records’ own Johnny White (The Rollercoaster Project).

The How To Be soundtrack will be released by Dreamboat Records on April 28. It features three songs performed by Robert Pattinson, the original score by Joe Hastings, and tracks by The Rollercoaster Project, Love, Captain Beefheart and The Roches.
