Lovely Lavender Blouse

These pictures were taken in Echo Park when my boyfriend and I visited some friends. Their house and neighborhood were so lovely that I could not resist taking pictures. I especially loved the entry ways leading up to the houses, with stairs leading up. Not to mention all the flowers in full bloom. Oh so lovely! Anyways, now to the outfit. I recently purchased this top from VJ Style and I am simply in love with it! From the detail on the collar and the cuffs, to the button up closure on the back. I do realize that I did not provide a picture of the lovely back of this blouse, but I plan on pairing it with so many other outfits that it will soon be on another post.

Little Black Dress

I'm not one to wear black much and anyone who knows me can attest to that; but when I saw this BZ dress with its empire waist and lace trim, I fell in love. Its simple design makes it easy to style from day to night. I've already worn it paired with a cropped B&W striped sweater and some heels for an easy date night look! On this day, I decided to take a casual spin on the LBD and paired it with a cropped denim jacket and some t-strap flats for a lunch date with my mom and sis. We went to Crave Cafe and afterwards for a day of shopping fun. I took the liberty of adding two pictures of my yummy lunch to get your taste buds going! ;)

Suspender Love

Lately I have been obsessed with suspenders. I have had my eye on this floral suspender skirt for a while now, and snatched it up as soon as I saw it had gone on sale. I paired it with a cream collared blouse, and topped it off with my new favorite Jeffrey Campbell Brogues. I am truly on love with these suspenders, and best of all, the straps are removable! I am really into pieces that can be used in oh so many different ways. I have already worn it as a skirt and let me tell you, it is as adorable.

Pink + Navy

It is about time I get to bring out my pastel jeans to light. I am seriously in love with pastel colors and could not wait until spring time rolled around to wear them. I got these pink skinnies from Urban Outfitters last spring and completely wore them throughout that season and now I will do that once again. I paired these jeans with my navy collared blouse for that contrast of light and dark. There is just something about a deep color contrast that draws me in. I added my brown booties for an ultra feminine look, and I could not forget to add something floral, so I brought out my blue floral bag to the mix. Anyway, it is already April, and those April showers are in full swing. Today is a day to stay cuddled under the covers with a cup of coffee.

Pale Pink Dreams

Lately, I have been been thinking nonstop of pastels. Especially this pale pink color. To me, it is just the resemblance of spring and all the lightness it comes with. That said, I have created a list of the items I been craving for so far. I have been especially eying the Swedish Hasbeens Ornament Sandals since last spring! So, naturally when they came back for this spring I was so happy. I think it might be about time I purchase them, don't you think? All these items are a must for spring in my book and hopefully I will have bought most of them by the end of this season. What have you been craving for this season?

A Spring in My Step

Spring is here and I could not be more excited. In light of this, I dressed in two things any spring outfit needs: florals and pastels. I just love this combination! Not to mention the denim jacket. It is a must for spring. I have been eying this baby for a while and am so excited to be wearing it now. I was seriously lacking in the jacket department, and still do not have enough. There can never be too many jackets, right? That is going to be one of my goals for spring! Anyway, these photos were shot on the first day of spring, where a trip to the park seemed a necessity. We strolled through the park and found this awesome tree where we took pictures by. It could not have been a better first day of spring.

Pretty Tights

As you may already know, I love tights! I would wear them anytime of the year if the weather permitted. But, unfortunately, it is getting too hot here in LA for such layering, not that I won't sneak in some tights here and there. I originally was not going to wear any tights, but it was chilly as I headed out in the morning, and decided to pop some on. I did not want to wear an opaque tight, as I have done so often before, and luckily I rediscovered these pretties as I was browsing through my drawer. I just love the lacy detail and floral combination! They were perfect for the weather, not too warm to make me feel hot, yet provided some warmth to the early chill of the day.

P.S. I am so happy to be wearing my Loly in the Sky flats! I have been coveting these for a while and decided it was time to purchase them. I just love all their shoes! They have a fun and adorable aspect to them. I will definitely be purchasing another pair from them soon!

Spring Wishlist

I cannot tell you how excited I am about the coming Spring. ONLY 8 MORE DAYS! I am going to be sad about leaving winter behind, and all the coziness that comes along with it, but pastel colors are just calling my name. I just love the colors! I might even say that Spring is my favorite season of the year. That said, I have created a Spring wishlist to hopefully inspire your Spring wardrobe. I really am looking forward to buying many, many floral dresses!

Thrifted Goodies

I recently went thrift shopping and found some awesome goodies. I got a couple shirts, a skirt, a bag, and shoes all for less than $30! That to me is a steal! I always love a good bargain. I paired three of my finds (skirt, shoes, and bag) together because they looked so good as an outfit. I popped on this squirrel top with the skirt and I simply loved the combination. It is so cute, and with the scoop back, it definitely is one of my favorite tops from Urban Outfitters. And yes, I am wearing my bow tights again. I cannot help it, they are my favorite tights! To top off this neutral outfit, I wore this purse with its pretty mint color. I can already see it will become a regular in many more outfit posts!

A Little Bit of Red

Yesterday was so cloudy and gloomy, all I wanted to do was be at home, comfy and cozy under the covers. It was definitely not the best time for a shoot, but I couldn't resist the wonderful scenery—the lake, the birds, it was all too lovely! While walking, we came upon this beautiful tree that I simply had to take pictures with. The picture with me sitting in it is by far one of my favorites! It is now on my go-to list to take photos at. Anyway, it's been a pretty busy week for me, with getting the gist and goings of blogging, but I hope you are all bearing with me and loving it!

P.S I can now finally put my hair up in a bun, be it a small and messy one, but a bun either way!

Updating An Old Table

I have been wanting to update an old table my boyfriend gave me a while back. To be honest, it's been my "Junk Food Table" for the past year, so it's had its fair share of wear.
That said, it was time for a makeover. Deciding on the right pattern for the table took the majority of the time for this project, and it was more of an as-you-go project, meaning that we had a set idea, but decided to add to it as we went along. So if you don't have a set idea, experiment, and the result will be adorable!

Supplies:

Silhoutte Cameo Machine (Optional)
Cardstock Paper
Craftsman Acryllic Paint n Vanilla and Black.
Mod Podge
Mint Spray Paint (Not Pictured)
Copper Acrylic Paint (Not Pictured)
Nail Dotting Tools (Not Pictured)
Black Pen
Krylon Satin Finish (similar)

First, we sanded the entire table to get a smooth surface. This step is important because you want to get any bumps out of the way before you start painting. Once that is done, we painted the entire table in Vanilla Acryllic Paint. Don't worry if the entire surface wasn't covered with the first coat, you can cover it with a second or third coat, if you choose, later on.

We let the first coat stand for about 30 minutes before adding a second coat. We left it at two coats because you can still see parts of the wood, which gave it a rustic feel. Next, we cut out our cat silhouettes and placed them on the table to establish our pattern before gluing them down with mod podge. You want to do this before you glue them down with mod modge, because once its glued down, it's difficult to try to pick up the glued pieces to try to change the pattern. Once we set our pattern, we glued them down, then added a coat of mod podge to the surface as well.

We then used our dotting tool to add black polka dots to the surface of the table. Experiment with different dot patterns and sizes here. It will give your table a much more personal and unique look! We also used our dotting tool to make some cute copper-colored fish bones and hearts. Next, we outlined the cats using our black pen. Don't worry about the outline being perfect, it will give each cat a different look.

Lastly, we spray painted the legs of the table a mint color to offset the white of the top. Now it's ready to be sealed with a Satin Finish. And you're done!

Happy Monday everyone! Lately I have been wanting to spruce up my room. It is a little hard to pick out the right decor because my room is two dark shades of blue. Plenty of color there already! So I have to try and tone it down with everything else. That said, today will be filled with DIY Projects!

Sunday Adventure

Ahh Sunday! Full of sun with a slight breeze – what more could you ask for? Today, we went walking through the park and enjoyed taking in the sun and fresh air. The view of the valley is gorgeous here and it always ceases to amaze.
