Jackie Chan Returns to Zumba @ Bugis

Do what you like and you'll never have to work a day of your life again...

As of late, I've been instructing a number of mass group ZumFit sessions these past weeks... some with very much larger groups than usual... they were indeed an experience that I have enjoyed each time. For those at certain gyms that I have been covering classes for lately, it has been a PLEASURE to meet you too and I'm pleased to note that some of you have been becoming some familiar faces too!

Some pictures as seen here are provided very kindly by clients who have engaged me lately. I'm always happy when my group students want to take their pictures to commemorate their session with me. :) I know there are two more pictures from 2 other sessions that are due to be sent to me soon.. I'll share those too when I get them! :)

And then there are my own personal workout sessions where I participate at the Zumba classes at California Fitness.... some videos taken by other instructors/public as seen here... there's no doubt that I love having dance to compliment and support an active lifestyle... and hey! there're videos during yet another Jackie Chan appearance at Bugis last month too! Doing the Bachata with David during Halloween at Novena California Fitness... and *cough* I want a Zumba tee!!... (**pouts** my group that helped out on stage that day didn't get one while all the others did... err.. whats up with that? Still not too happy about that...I'm sensing some bias-ness here... and we're regulars too! *shakes head*)

Doing the Samba at Bugis Junction under the 1pm sun.. Ok.. seriously! It was killing to be dancing under the afternoon sun, not to mention extremely quick draining.. CF management have really got to consider the welfare of the regular dance members who participate in such public demonstrations that they might actually pass out from heatstroke in such crazy heat. Thinking of having another public demonstration? If it was not in a covered area or in an airconditioned building.. I think the next turn out for such an event will be poor. Point to note eh?

Photoshoot time! I was a non professional model for the day again when En Yung told me that he bought some new lens for his camera and we head down to Hort Park at Alexandra Technopark to take some daytime, greenery pictures. *excited*

Pictures taken with a Nikon D90 with Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 and Nikon 50mm F1.4D lens.

I donned a colourful patched flowy skirt that I used as a tube styled dress. Yeah.. its a skirt. Costs about $20 and bought at Chinatown.

Here are some of the pictures that I liked out of this set. It was a Really REALLY fun photoshoot. The colours came out well. The angles and the new lens really made this set of pictures quite funny too! I love the one above!!! And generally, I'm very happy that EY has managed to capture a range of different kind of shots so far for his slowly growing portfolio! *Proud to be part of it*

There were SO MANY different little spots thats just perfect to take pictures with. Every couple of steps would see you in a little tiny spot with different landscaping or plants or furniture. Snap! Snap! Snap!! Some places had little wooden fences like this one...

Some places with strange plants and some information signboards about the park... some even had playground toys and even plastic Dinosaurs and Grass Dragons! We had a hilarious time at the Dinosaurs because I got stuck halfway up and he had to pull me off it with me screaming for dear life..."hewwwllp!!! I'm stuck!!!"

The park had various different kind of statues... you would see this metal swirly one when you enter near the park entrance...

And we tried a little perspective.. looking all professional, this was when EY lay flat on the table and took a photoshot upwards. Gosh.. the kind of positions photographers have to get into to get a different perspective... really not easy work!

Then he stood up on the table and shot downwards...

There were vegetable gardens and herb gardens.. I loved the Thyme bushes here.. they smelt so good too! *tempted to pluck some to use for grilled chicken*... (cough cough) but I didn't okay!

Different kind of stools, chairs and lounge chairs like this... this reminds me of some poolside deckchair...

And he caught me creeping about the flower bushes... "ah hah!!" (snap!) HOI!! .... *snigger snigger*

A portrait shot of me sitting by a flower bush.. and yeah.. the fluffiness of this skirt makes me look pregnant as a dress but I'm obviously NOT. I'm just naturally.. erm.. curvy.

Christmas Wishlist 2009

I have had some very lovely dear friends who had asked what I wanted this Christmas, perhaps so that they could get it before I leave for the Philippines on the 15th of December till month end. *clap hands in excited glee* Yes! I'm going to be off to the Philippines to spend Christmas there with my Mom and sisters and the rest of my maternal family. The Glama Grandmama aka my mom sponsored the tickets for the 3 of us via Cebu Pacific.

It would be a different Christmas for the girls this year for them to experience altogether. I'm pretty sure they're going to enjoy themselves. And we'll probably webcam with their Daddy n all at home here on Christmas eve/day itself. :)

So this years wishlist goes like this... I would put generally what I want.. it may not be within your budget or perhaps it is? but you DON'T have to get these if you don't want to.. but it might be easier knowing what I DO want if you want to get me something... but heck! If you remember me during Christmas and call/sms me to say Hi! I would be happy already!

Almost Exploding... Can't believe it...

This evening, I was going through some older event photographs for some work and I found one of myself 2 years ago at a past event. I had to do a triple take at the photograph as I realised that I was literally splittingly exploding out of my skin!

How did I let myself reach 100kg like that? Those were a size 44 pants and my official XXL event black shirt literally hangs on me now.. aye! This is a good reminder to keep working out and to keep in mind the kind of food that goes into my mouth. Gah! No more please.

Armed with a new Nikon D90 camera, we set of to Clarke Quay to take some random photogaphs before a Salsa workshop at Azzucar. The last set of photos by C. En Yung can be found HERE.

Dress & handbag compliments of my dear Mother in Law..yes! Its her dress. The one I wore before I left the house was too loose and she couldn't bear seeing me leave the house with a lousy fitting pink dress so she gave me this black one instead! It fit well apparently and I loved it! :)

Halloween 09 - Azzucar Spooky Night!

Spooky Night on 31st October came around and I spent the evening working. Yes, at a club and yes, it was Azzucar but for filming purposes. My videographers were there in full force recording what was needed for the night. While that was happening, the Marketing Manager and I made our rounds for the evening looking for Halloween Costume winners for prizes.

I interchanged my gold mask for the night for some black devil horns. What was I? Well I don't know really.. I had a mask, I had golden glittery spiders running all over my body.. some blood running down blood-red lips and blood splattered around my shoulders... so I was a bloody horny masked..err.. something.. *shrug*

Above was the first prize winner in red hair... below was the 2nd prize winner and the 3rd prize winner.. she left before we could take a picture with her. :(

And my newest girlfriend, Michelle! Priscilla introduced us one evening some weeks ago and we hit off completely! She's a riot and completely hilarious... a really fun girl. REALLY fun. And best part too, she's also an Endorphin Junkie like me but she instructs swimming and trains for triathlons! Cool eh! Triathlons! Even I'm not at that level to even want to do a Marathon... much less Triathlon!! *hugs babe!!*

And I just HAD to take a picture with these guys.. its the GHOSTBUSTERS!! ... whod'yacall?! GHOSTBUSTERS!! Err.. on duty with Heineken? .... Got ghost how?.....

And of course, the evening would not have been complete if I didn't get a picture with the lovely owners of Azzucar, my clients... Miguel and his wife. "Rawwrrr!!"

And a final pic taken just before I left the house for the evening.. before the masks/horns/blood was put on.. still looking somewhat powdery n fresh.. face was much whiter in person... and no, I know it wasn't scary and my eyes were squinty.. but whatever.. Sometime the week before, I had to do another photoshoot for Azzucar but before that, I met up with a long time old friend, Daryl. For those who know Daryl, he's Mister Herbalife. He's a major big shot in that business....

Everything about him is Herbalife... hahahaha! I've known him since Eirian was about a year old so that makes him about a 7 year old friend already...

He's seen me at my fattest at 100kg some years back and tried to put me on his Herbalife products. If you don't already know that I was previously that size. You can check out my SOYJOY promo. videoclip done earlier this year HERE.

Unlucky as it was for those products, I was that 1% of people who had serious side effects from taking them so I had to stop consuming them or go into shock. Over the years, he slowly saw the transformation with my low carb/exercise regime and imagine the fast forward to 2009 the other week when we met for dinner at the Fisherman's Wharf for Fish & Chips.... :) "Is that really you?!".... always good to get that kind of response...

Then it was down to Azzucar for some work done. Picture first with the club owner, Miguel before we set off to work... and that evening, both my photographer boys went to the club to help me, Darran and En Yung.

Zumbathon Again!

Last Zumbathon can be found HERE. California Fitness had another 90 minute but more private one last Saturday at the Novena branch and I would never miss it of course!

And Mike Thomas was in town this week and it was practically Zumba week over at California Fitness. Mike T used to the the Group X Manager here in Singapore till David and him literally swapped countries. He's now located in Hong Kong.

There was a Zumba party last Thursday night with him, David and Daniel at Novena. Was a complete blast! Very high energy! I'm looking forward to having him come back down from Hong Kong again to do another Zumba session here... Thanks Mike!! You would be missed. :)

One of my friends, En Yung is a new budding photographer. He started out as a silent blog reader who I found out when he revealed himself later, was actually one of my dance mates at the gym and eventually became one of my regular dance class students in my private ZumFit classes.

I love seeing how people explore their interests and passion and hope that they become wildly successful in the things they love to do...

Armed with his newly purchased special lens, we headed out to VivoCity on a late afternoon to take some casual pictures with me. We took a couple of shots and reviewed them at the end of the day and there were several more that I liked but I chose 6 to be featured here... :)

Kudos to En Yung to have quite a good majority of shots that turned out pretty nice. We didn't even take alot so that means the percentage of good shots is high! For new photographers, practice & experimentation definitely makes perfect and it would be great too when one had an eye to capture the "magic" with their lenses...

Azzucar @ Clarke Quay

Anyone close to me would know that if I had to choose where to go to, to dance and have a night out. It would be at Azzucar, Latin club at Clarke Quay with their all cuban band, Cubania belting out many of my favourite dance and spanish love songs. *loves*

I had my birthday earlier this year there. Details on that HERE.

How apt it would then be that I now have work relations with them so I have the opportunity to enjoy my favourite live tunes belted out by the new & updated Cubania from time to time.

I really love the place.. the music.. I'm happy to be working with them...

I also had the opportunity to do a little photography work with Darran aka Limetouch *below* when I had to do some impromptu photo session at the club. Many thanks and heartfelt appreciation to Darran for being so spontaneous and meeting me with such short notice. He's a pretty cute boy isn't he!? And he works out regularly at the gym too! Fit, young, cute and still single? Whats there not to like girls? (*heh heh*)

Contemplation...

"Are you Catholic or Christian?" asked my client as she peeked at my gold cross pendant that hung gently at the groove of my neck. "Catholic" I smiled and peered away with slight trepidation and guilt... "please don't ask" I thought to myself... but she did..

"Which Church do you go to?"... and then excitedly went on to explaining that she was Catholic too and she got married in the church that I "used" to attend.. I say "used" to go to because I haven't been to church for a very long time indeed. I believe. Yes... but I have not followed...

After that meeting, I strolled slowly down the road thinking about what we had discussed in our meeting and I suddenly stopped and looked up. I was standing at the main gate of a church. Strangely, in all the times that I had ever passed that area, I never noticed that there was a Catholic church where I stood.

I peered around the grounds and peeked at my handphone to check the time. Hmm.. still had some time to spare so I walked into the Church. It was empty except for a lady sitting on the far left praying with her rosary. I walked down the pews as I swished my fingers over each wooden arm rest till I found a spot I liked in the middle of the Church. And I sat.

I sat there for a while with my feet on the bar where other church goers would kneel and exalt in prayer during mass. I sat and thought and talked to Him. With all that is going on in my life now, I needed direction and I wanted a sign. I want clarity and I want focus and so I spoke.. in my head as my eyes darted around observing the state of the church. It was dilapidated and windy.

For several moments, I stared at the stained glass windows behind the altar and marveled at its beauty. It was a huge shining splash of colour amongst the peeling walls and ceiling. It was quiet and peaceful.

Some moments later, a couple walked in past where I was sitting and graciously kneeled on one knee before stepping into a pew to pray. I did a mental head smack to myself. Akk!! How could I forget to kneel n bow before I stepped into the pew! For a while, I felt embarassed. How could I forget? Did I forget how to do the sign of the cross too? I tried it discreetly and felt relieved that I still remembered.

The couple left after a few minutes and all was silent again. I looked around and saw no one except the rosary praying lady sitting immobile except the swishing of her beads. I finished my "conversation", gathered my bag and stood up. This time.. I remembered to kneel n bow before I spun around to leave.

As I walked towards the main door, for a moment it alarmed me to see that I had not noticed a short, fairly fat old lady with a kind sweet face and a walking stick sitting by the door just after the entrance. I smiled and she smiled back with a gummy toothless smile.

I was just about to walk past her when she reached out for my arm and said "wait for me."

Wait for you? I wondered and blurted out a "huh?"...

"Wait for me" she said again.. and then she turned to face me. "Can you bring me home?" she asked. "I'm sorry. I don't drive and I'm off to another appointment" I said.

She squinted and winced as she bent over to move in her seat. "Doctor said it is terminal. I don't have very much time left..." she said softly with her voice trailing off as she pointed down to her feet. I looked down and saw her blackened, swollen and deformed foot with deep purple bruises. How did she even get all the way here? I wondered....

"Everyone has a sob story and everyone dies sometime" I thought to myself but quickly chided myself. I could not believe I was thinking so nasty and patted her arm and asked "how are you feeling today?"... she nodded.

"How much do you have?" she asked suddenly. I felt it was like she was asking a trick question.. How much money do I have or how MUCH do I have to be thankful for? I wondered....

I looked at her puzzled and she asked again.. "Do you have $10? Can I have it to take a taxi home?" For a few seconds, I contemplated while I stood there for a while, my natural reaction was to just say no and walk away.. brush her off like how we usually do with those who sell tissue or beg on the street corners..

$10. How outrageous and direct of her to ask for it without any qualms... I thought and knew that all I had in my wallet was $12. There I was, standing at the entrance of the church fighting a moral dilemma to be gracious. I looked around and found. There was still nobody but us. "Where do you live?" I asked. "Toa Payoh" she replied. And we were at Dhoby Ghaut... -.-'' I nodded and exhaled... and said "okay".

She looked to the altar whilst I reached into my bag and pulled out $10. And gave it to her.$10 is not alot of money but it is not little either. I had never given a stranger any more than $4 before that day. I opened her hands and placed it into her palm. "Take care okay?"...

Her eyes lit up and said quietly "Thank you... when I can, I will return this to you" nodding furiously and ernestly. My heart skipped a little as I shook my head. "No, you can have it". I reached out for one final touch on her arm and I walked out of the church....

The further I walked I contemplated.. and my phone rang "Pam! we want you to instruct on .... " I spoke into my phone.. and walked on smiling. HE has a plan and I stopped at the church for a reason. Perhaps this was the reason I spent those few minutes alone where I would not normally do on any other given day and for me to be there for her aid.

I asked for a sign didn't I?... it was a small one to show me how much I have to be thankful for and knowing that I am still...

I have this from the last Anthony Robbins seminar I attended in 2007. I want to keep this handy and what better place than in my blog so I can share it with my girls and to share with all who read my blog for you to read, affirm and love yourself and believe that all things are possible. Believe.

Every Morning I awaken centred, strong, happy, full of love and confidence, faith and joy. I am peaceful, full of vigour and life and ready to take on and complete with amazing success anything that is put in front, behind or anywhere near my sphere of influence.

Everyday I grow stronger and stronger in my faith and ability. There is a clear, clean window in which to see the glorious future that is my birthright. I wake up grateful and full of positive love and calmness, I am as calm and comfortable as a placid pond early on a warm spring dawn and I remain that way throughout the day into the night where I feel even more of the positive feelings and emotions that make me function at my very best.

God's gifts of prosperity continue to flow freely to me in oceans and oceans of glorious abundance, confidence focus and health, wealth beyond my wildest dreams. And I am grateful beyond measure as I continue to create even more health, wealth happiness and joy for all that I have the privilege of meeting and touching.

Heya!! Its been a while... looking for business and new clients have been an ongoing activity. Client meetings, customer meetings, forging new partnerships.. networking and of course in the midst of all that.. instructing ZumFit and AquaFit.. :)

is a Latin Fitness Cardio dance class where it infuses infectious Latin and International music to Latin dance moves of merengue, salsa, cha-cha, bachata, cumbia, bellydance, bollywood, hiphop & reggaetton.

For $460 for 1 Adult + 1 Child for a period of 12 weeks starting 26th September 2009 till the 12th of December 2009.

Spend your Saturdays purposefully with activities for both adult and child from 2pm-330pm where your child spends the afternoon baking and crafting while you spend your time from 230-330pm working out with me!

Your child will be clearing up and will wait at the crafting studio (estimated final end time 345pm) while you finish up your workout and come pick them up after!

The GRU baking/crafting class is suitable for children aged 3-4 year old (with adult accompaniment & assistance, ie maid/other parent/grandparent/relative) or children from 5-12 years old (adult accompaniment not required).

ZumFit classes are not limited to the adult who have signed up for the Parent/Child Package only. As long as you're an adult with a child (nephew/niece/cousin), you can sign up for it. If you want to come for the ZumFit part without the package, you can also join too! Rates for ZumFit classes only are $120 for 12 consecutive sessions.

If you were to break down the cost for something like this, it would come up to only $38 for the adult/child activity each Saturday for 12 weeks. As a parent, you can EASILY spend $38 just on food/shopping/stuff within minutes. This way, you work towards better fitness and health for yourself while your child is engaged in a fun learning journey at the same time at a reasonable cost!

Busy busy busy...

Yes, I know..its been weeks but I've been busy..really busy but you've all still been there... thank you... :) Its been weeks filled with work.. instructing on an almost daily weekday basis.. and soon to be including Saturday too...

I was also on Sports@sg on Channel 5 last night at around 1015pm? Did you catch it? We did the filming on Wednesday at a private studio and it came out on TV 2 days later! Damn fast lah!! Anyway, it was just a minute on the "Showstopper" Segment and I realised something.. when a director asks you to come in LIGHT MAKEUP... put it on heavier bc I looked so darned pale during the shoot and well... perhaps once I recieve the video clip by post, I'll post it up for those who had missed it on TV.

I believe they would put it up HERE on the Sports@Sg site too so you can get a direct stream if I don't manage to convert the video here for viewing. :) Did I look chubby in the filming.. *sigh* unfortunately the rule about people looking at least 20% fatter than they usually are still stands true.. but whats done is done.. :)

Apparently, its also screening on TV mobile as I recieved some calls earlier this morning with people exclaiming they saw me on their bus ride.. *cough cough*.... :)

I want to give special thanks to the 4 ladies who joined me for the shoot, namely Preetha, Su, Loida and Karen... thank you for giving me your afternoon. *hugs*

I also took a day to visit my other instructor pals and my dear Diane, CEO of Fisaf Singapore last week. FISAF is a certification program that people take when they want to become a fitness instructor. So you would see different kinds of people from those who do group aerobic classes like me, to aqua aerobic instructors, personal trainers, fitball trainers and even yoga instructors...

FISAF holds training 3 times a year and Diane is now back in Singapore conducting the 2nd for this year! There is another one at the end of this year for those interested to go into this field of work/interest. You can check out www.fisaf.com.sg for more course details.

OMG! Pam Hospitalised?!...

So there I was. Lying in bed at Raffles Hospital earlier this month.. post surgery.. in a little pain.. and in a post operative depression... alone.. and grumpy....

Why was I there and what surgery you may wonder? Filming of course!! Okay.. okay.. so I was not sick.... Don't panic and start calling me before you finish reading this post.

It was a 10 hour filming day which spanned from filming at the hospital, to areas around Collyer Quay and around the Merlion.. to up around Raffles One in the CBD and finally ending at the Raffles place square before the filming was a wrap.

Who was it? A UK Healthcare & Insurance Group doing their new to-be-released internationally corporate video. Who was I? I was the sick post operative wife of a successful businessman who thankfully bought more than enough insurance to ensure I had the best medical care and peace of mind knowing that all our medical bills were fully covered.

It was such an experience filming in the hospital, interacting with real doctors, surgeons and nurses who played parts in certain scenes. Luc, my hubby for the day aka Mr. Successful Businessman, is not only my friend. He was also my core training instructor during my FISAF instructor course! It was easy filming with him because we already knew each other so the chemistry was natural and it helped show that on camera for more realism.

Started the day "sick" around 2pm and as the scenes went by... we shot the more "happy days, I'm not sick" scenes together.. a picture taken together at around 9pm at night already.. feeling quite worn out and quite ready to call it a day which we did around 11pm.

We were told that the film would be edited and the final video would be out sometime in October 09. All healthcare/insurance companies would receive it so if you see it and you're in that industry, let me know!! If I manage to get a copy of the video or it gets posted on youtube.. I'll share it here too... :) Look out for it!

It was a wonderful experience indeed and my talent agent... I'll say it again.. she's absolutely amazing. I am proud to have been part of the Organisations' video. Thank you for the opportunity!

Mom in Law 67th Birthday Celebrations

Singapore's National Day on the 9th of August shares the same day as my Mother in Law's Birthday. This year she turns 67 years old! We had lunch at our favourite Hotel... which one? Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel of course! And we had dimsum at Jia Wei Restaurant.

Food was excellent that day and I called the Marketing Manager in the morning prior to our arrival and he kindly arranged for a complimentary Birthday cake for her! It was such a lovely touch and a kind gesture to celebrate the day and a fine end of the meal!! Thanks K! And Thank you GM Roxy Hotel! :) Thoroughly appreciated!!! This hotel really knows how to take care of their guests and make them feel special.. :)

The cake came and it was an ice-cream cake! Strawberry ice-cream with a chocolate sponge base and strawberry jelly topping with fresh fruits & berries! We finished the whole cake!! It was really quite excellent. *slurps*

After lunch, we all head back home for the afternoon of our usual Mahjong game till dinner time and the National Day Parade.

And yes! We all stood and said the pledge in the pledge moment at 8:22pm on National Day! :) Did you?

In the meantime, a subdued Birthday song in the middle of Jia Wei Restaurant during lunch.

Snippets from my Aqua Aerobics Class

One of my clients who sat in one of my Aqua sessions took some shots of the class and me and I thought I'd share 3 with you.

I instruct Aqua Aerobics aka AquaFit to corporate classes. Clients will book the pool - whether it is a private or a Singapore Sports Council public pool. The latter usually is a tad tricky and has alot of red tape and waiting time to getting an SSC location.

I have had enquiries for a public class, however I have yet to manage to source for a location that would allow such public classes if it was not corporate or condo-private. If you know of a pool that I can use, please let me know!

My students go through rounds of warm ups, heart pumping cardio workout, resistance exercises, circuit training, interactive games, sometimes we dance - yes, you can dance in the pool. I call it purposeful movements. Each movement has a purpose to work a certain body part/joint/muscle group. I usually end with some relaxing water therapy and a complete cool down.

I use water resistance and equipment such as Aqua noodles and balls. I may decide to invest in water dumbells and aqua vests at a later time to do deep water classes in the future.

In the meantime, I conduct shallow depth *chest level* classes for my students. There are times that I do have students who are not swimmers or have a certain amount of water fear. We try to ease their anxiety over the course of the program. So far so good! I am very proud of all my participants! I can see the improvement in everyone! *hearts*

Non swimmers usually manage to complete my class too. Options for participants and those who can manage more advance moves are usually provided for different skill and confidence levels.

Many do not realise or know that I actually have a professional work life outside of what you read on my blog simply because I rarely mention anything about it here. *laughs* No, I am not a housewife or a tai tai.

When I say this, I do not mean my instructing work which does fill up alot of my time but more of a passion and interest kind of thing I do.

My blog, Dreaming Reality is very much a personal and social avenue for me to pen my thoughts and experiences and I rarely mix this platform together work wise. Business wise, I have two businesses under my care and management.

What have I been up to Lately?

Ever since that weekend from the Blogathon.. I fell really sick with a bad flu that had me crashed completely knocked out for 2-3 days straight for most part of the day and night. Was it diagnosed as H1N1? Nope, the GP didn't mention anything about that but it did help that I was only running a low grade fever and I had a crazy amount of antibiotics and various pills.

With a really bad throat, body aches, head aches, running nose, loss of voice, lethargy, sneezies and whatever else you would expect from having a bad flu...

I'm fine now though...meanwhile, I was looking into my blog stats and noticed that you.. yes you.. my dear dear blog readers have STILL been faithfully reading me despite such a long absence from my blog.. Thank you!!!! *loves* And on certain days... readership has risen too! I feel so bad for the lack of posts! Hugs to all!

We've been having alot of Yong Tau Foo at home.. and I love topping the soup with half boiled eggs and chicken! Totally the way you should have it... minus the extra gravy... light on the tummy too!

And I have a full day filming for a UK Corporate Healthcare organisation tomorrow so I DIY re-dyed my hair again. Unfortunately, I kinda forgot that I didn't really like this colour and bought the wrong one.. but since I only realised it when it was on my head.. I'm now officially, Miss Orangey Red head.. again....

And last Thursday before I went to teach my Aqua class for the evening, the hubster CJ and I went to Carls Jr at Vivo City! Yep, we're still on a low carb regime and Carls Jr I say? Yeah! Carls Jr!!

DID YOU KNOW? That you can order ANY CARLS JR burger on the menu LOW CARB STYLE? That just means that they omit the bread and they wrap your ordered burger in layers and layers and layers and layers of lettuce.... topped with fresh Salsa... OMG.. heaven!

Why I say layers and layers so many times is because it seemed like there was at least half a head of lettuce wrapping each of our burgers!! Whoa lao!! Lettuce overload but it was SOOOO GOOD!! And for the first time in Carls Jr history for me.. I finished the whole burger without needing to pass it on to anyone to finish. And I didn't feel like I needed to give "birth" after either!! It was so refreshing!!

We also tried the new Freddies Burger joint sometime last week, which came highly recommended at the new ION Orchard!

After my ZumFit class on Friday... Lauren and I head down to check out ION Orchard and had dinner there after chugging down some Starbucks Coffee each! ... yeah.. my 9 year old daughter drinks Starbucks Frappucino and still sleeps normally after.. just like me!!

Thats Lauren unveiling her burger... and me assessing it... :) And next, my Freddies burger! .... it wasn't all too bad.. about half the price of a Carls Jr. burger. About 3/4 the size of at CJ burger too.. the patty was about maybe about double the size of a single CJ patty but a little more mushier.. very beefy though... and sets came with a drink and curly fries.

And on the way home, I noticed something on the MRT walls.. an Ad for Predictor Pregnancy Test kits... watch it and realise why I WOULD NEVER BUY this kit.... simply because its as "accurante" as a doctor's test... *cough cough*.. indeed...

Copywriter, Printer and everybody who let this kind of error pass, specially for THIS KIND OF PRODUCT and get it plastered over the train walls ought to be SHOT. Seriously.

24hr SG Blogathon July O9 - Tangs/Lenovo/Intel VIDEO INTENSIVE

On the 17th of July, the Ogilvy team.. same lovely peeps who came up with the SOYJOY GI Challenge came together with 10 bloggers, CK Tangs, Intel and Lenovo and did a 24 hour Blogger Challenge.

Location? The display windows of CK Tangs at Orchard Road. Task? For these 10 bloggers to last the 24 hours without sleeping, fulfill blogging tasks within the time period and garner public support in terms of onsite votes to see who would be the people's choice and judges choice in terms of who gained the most online comments with their blogging post tasks.

There were many involved but I was there mainly for Claudia, Nadia, Jayden and DK. I am not familiar with the rest so I was definitely rooting for these 4 to come up with something and to witness Singapore's first Blogathon in Action! *excited!*

Luckily for me, it started on Friday - where I also run ZumFit classes at Orchard so before classes started for me, I popped by to say hi to my blogger pals.

In the first hour, each participating blogger was allowed to bring in a friend or fellow blogger to accompany them as they get accustomed to their area and being in the window with so many onlookers. Diana took the first picture *up there* while she was inside the display case looking down at me.. and I must say.. I was looking MIGHTY happy to see them there...

With that, I said Hi to Diana @ molemole who accompanied Claudia in her first hour. And who did I meet outside? Hisham!! Even with his gout pains, he still made it down to support the group in their challenge! Go go Bloggers! We support you guys all the way!!

I then went to check out Nadia and Jayden in their window. Each pair got to swap and move to a different window display every 6 hours and with 4 different windows to experience.. each of them surely had their share of ups and downs with each setup. Nadia invited Muz to be her first hour partner!! Hi Muz!!

The challenge started on Friday, 17th of July at 6pm and it ended on Saturday, 18th of July at 6pm. After giving my greetings, I went off to class and returned once it was done to check up on the gang to see how they were doing! So far so good! They were being given their dinners which they got to order from the Tangs Island Cafe.

Nadia doing well so far.. still chirpy.. still alert and happy too!

Claudia.. also still getting used to her window display and in the midst of dinner...

Guess who came by to say Hi too! Mr. Miyagi aka Benjamin Lee with his uber cute BABY!! Hi Baby!!! *wave wave*

Every 2 hours, they were allowed a 10 minutes toilet break and Tania aka @unfluff / Twitter walked about with her Toilet break sign to alert the bloggers of their impending 10 minutes of "relief".

Throughout the event, there was constant communication between the bloggers and the public through twitter. Friends, family and new online peeps "spoke" through twitter online, through their phones and many of the public watched as several live - twitter screens showed the conversations as it flowed throughout the 24 hours. On twitter.. everything was found under #bthon.

Many of us relished in taunting the bloggers with ice-cream as we stood outside the windows to oogle at them. We took photos of them from the outside and they took photos of us from the inside... and with that I left them for the evening to go home, "talk" to them through twitter and watch them through the live video feed that they set up to watch them online.

The next morning, they had a Twitter Retweet contest at 1015am. The first 20 Retweeters who tweeted the special message from 1015am-1030am and made their way down to Tangs to verify their Retweet and contact details would have won a $50 Tangs Voucher.

Nadia reminded me before I went to bed to be up on time and I literally JUMPED UP FROM BED AT 1015AM exactly the next morning. Absolutely gave me a headache jumping up so abruptly and running to my computer like a mad woman! "Retweet!! retweet!!" I screamed.. MAKE WAAAY!!!... *thumping my floor running like a clumsy elephant*

I rushed to my computer, turned it on and logged on only to see that the RT-Retweet Message was only released 2 minutes prior. I Retweeted and prayed that I had it in the bag. I woke my girls and then went to wash up.

I had to run my girls through a little breakfast routine and to wash them up and kept on screaming on twitter to HOLD MY VOUCHER!! slowly but surely people made their way down to Tangs to claim their voucher and by the time I could get my girls ready and run out the door, it was down to 6 pcs left!! OMG!!! *Grab a cab - who went by a LONGER WAY!! Damnnitt!!*

On the way there, I said to my girls... "if we reach there and we get the voucher.. You both can have it, $25 each and get something nice." Our taxi stopped and we ran out squealing to the Tangs front entrance with our arms in the air.. "Did we get it?!" Yes we did!! *cheers!*

Lauren did a little happy dance right there and Eirian jumped up and down.. Whooot!! The funny part there as that a couple of minutes later.. Lauren's slippers BROKE APART. Literally fell apart in several sides. So she used her budget to buy new red Ipanema designer slippers.. and a small purple CareBear while Eirian used her budget to buy a brand new Disney Princess school bag!

We "caught" DK doing a snore on the sofa.. *snigger*... we were hoping to catch at least ONE of the bloggers who would doze off but none did throughout the Blogathon.. perhaps next time it should be 48 hours.. then there would REALLY be some snoring somewhere. It would really be quite unbearable for 48 hours and that would REALLY be a challenge indeed.

What do you get when you put a new Coffee Maker with DK for 6 hours? A Coffeemachine Demonstration Salesman!

The guys over at a new window in their last 6 hour stint.. by this time, they have already been in there for more than 18 hours... rotated against 3 other window displays and have done several blogging tasks throughout the night.

Eirian was happy to be there too!

And my happy girls who got to use their $50 Tangs voucher that their Mommy so unglamourously won for them in the morning... *pffft*...

DK got a little mental by the last 6 hours and started doing his Michael Jackson Impersonations with his hat in the window.

And he decided to be a frozen mannequin for some time and we signed to him.. "YOU CAN'T BLINK!!" and he didn't! wahahah Hilarious... he stood there for a while.. frozen and not moving.

Nadia had a whale of a time with the Khiels Boys who went around to the different windows and to the public to promote Khiels products and to motivate the Bloggers to keep on going...

And who did I meet there but @brokenshardz aka Robert Sim.. this is the guy who people mistaken for my husband online for as they share exactly the same name. Hahaha!

My dear friend, Joe Augustin was engaged to be there on both days to emcee the event and at 4pm on the 2nd day.. there was a scheduled talk in the biggest window display where all the bloggers got together along with some public crowd to have a "talk".

All 10 bloggers in one window.

DK doing a studious compulsive geek on his laptop.. must blog.. must blog... *nervous twitch*... must blog. *twitch twitch*

And Nadia & Jayden.. really quite tired by the time evening came around... almost coming to a close!! and at 6pm.. everything came to a close... and at 630pm... the results were announced.

Nadia won the public's choice with 61 onsite votes! Congratulations! This girl has been on a blogger winning spree all month!! Insane!! Wahaha!!

And Nicholas won the Judges choice with the most points via online comments through the blogging challenge in the 24 hours. Congratulations too! And thats it! 24 hours, 10 bloggers, 4 Tangs display windows, Prizes galore, Public, Friends and 2 Big Winners...
