బ్రహ్మాండం అంతా అరచేతిలో మోయక్కర్లేదు

నువ్వు నువ్వు గా ఉండు చాలు

నీ లా నువ్వు నవ్వుకుంటూ

నీ కాళ్ళ మీద నువ్వు నిలబడుతూ

తడబడుతూ ... మళ్ళీ నిలబడుతూ

నేను లేను అని ఆగిపోకు

నేను నేర్పింది మర్చిపోకు

నాన్న అంటే ఇంతే కదా నాన్న ..?

ప్రశ్నిస్తే సమాధానం చెప్పే వాడివి కదా ...

ఎన్ని ఏళ్ళు గడిచినా బాధ పెంచే రోజు

నిన్ను నాలోనే వెతుక్కునే రోజు

జ్ఞాపకాల గునపం గుండె చీల్చే రోజు

ముందుకు వెళ్లే అడుగు ఆగి వెనక్కి తగ్గే రోజు

ఎదో శిక్ష ... పరీక్ష ... అనిపించే ప్రతిరోజు

నీ నవ్వు తప్ప ఏది గుర్తుకు రాని రోజు

నేను నా గమ్యం లో నిన్ను తలవని రోజు

లేదని తెలిసినా మరోసారి బాధ పెంచే రోజు

Short Story: బ్రతుకే సుఖం - Life is Beautiful

ముకుంద్ శేఖర్ నది ఒడ్డున కూర్చుని వస్తున్న - పోతున్న పడవలు ఒకదానిని మరోకటి దాటడం చూస్తున్నాడు. దూరంగా సూరీడు టాటా బై బై చెప్పే పని లో తెడ్డు పడిన నది నీటి తరంగాలలో దోబూచులాట ఆడుకుంటున్నాడు. పొద్దున్నుంచి అందర్నీ ఒక వైపు మాడుస్తునే ఇంకో వైపు బ్రతుకు దారి చూపించి చూపించి అలసిపోయాడు పాపం. పైగా ఇక్కడ డ్యూటీ దిగి ఇంకో వైపు ఎక్కాలి... కొంచెం సేపు ఇలా ఆడుకుంటే తప్పేముంది అనుకున్నాడు. ఒక పడవ లో అటు ఒడ్డుకు వెళుతున్న అలసిపోయిన పెద్దోళ్ళు ... వాళ్ళ మీద నీళ్లు చల్లుతూ ఇటు ఒడ్డుకు వస్తూ అల్లరి చేస్తున్న కురోళ్లు మరో పడవ లో. వాళ్ల గోల మనకెందుకు అనుకుంటూ కొంచెం దూరంగా వయ్యారాలు పోతూ ఈదుతున్న బాతులు ... వాటి పైన గుడ్లూ చేరుకోవాలి అని ఎగురుతున్న పక్షులు. రసికత ఉండాలే కాని ఈ సీన్ ని సీనరి నీ చూస్తూ అలా ప్రకృతి నీ వర్ణిస్తూ గడిపెయొచ్చు. కానీ ... మన ముకుంద కళ్ళలో ఏవో దిగులు నీళ్లు తిరుగుతూనే ఉన్నాయి. అవి తెర దాటి రావు ... మన వాడి బాధ భారం కొండ దిగదు. ఇంత ఆనందం తన చుట్టూ ఉన్న అనుభవించలేని కష్టాన్ని కడిగే పని లో ఉన్నట్టు ఉంది నది ... వచ్చి చల్లగా పదాలు తాకుతోంది ... మరో వైపు నేనేమన్నా తక్కువా అంటూ నది గాలి కూడా గట్టిగా తగులుతోంది ... ముకుంద చొక్కా దాని తో పాటు రాగాలు తీస్తోంది కాని ఇక్కడ మనోడు అదే expression ... ఇంక రాలకపోతే కష్టం అని కన్నీరు తెర దాటి కిందకు రాలింది.

అలా చూస్తుండగానే చీకటి పడి చంద్రుడు నడి నెత్తి కి ఎక్కేసాడు. నది గాలి కూడా జోరందుకుంది. ముకుంద చొక్కా, ప్యాంటు, జుట్టు ఎవి కూడా ఇంకా ఎంతసేపు ఇక్కడే ఇలాగే ఉంటాం అని ఆ గాలి తో పాటు ఎటో వెళ్లాలి అనే ప్రయత్నం లో ఉన్నాయి... కానీ మనోడు కదలడం లేదు. ఎంతో సేపు భారం మొసి మోసి కళ్ళు ఏర్రపడ్డాయి ... మొహం పీక్కు పోయింది. తిండి లేక ఇబ్బంది పడ్డ పెదవులు ఎండిపోయి కనీసం నీళ్లు అయిన పట్టమని అడుగుతున్నాయి. అయినా కరగని చిత్తం తో ... తీరని బాధ ఏదో నమిలేస్తుంటే అలాగే ఉండిపోయాడు ముకుంద. చివరికి ఏదో నిర్ణయానికి వచ్చి లేచాడు. కానీ కాళ్ళల్లో సత్తువ ఆట్టే లేదు నది ఒడ్డు జరాడు. పిచ్చి కోపం తో లేచి ... ఉన్న సత్తువ అంతా కూడగట్టుకుని పెద్ద రాయి తో నది ని కొట్టాడు. అతను విసిరిన తీరు కొట్టినట్టే ఉంది మరి. ఎవరి మీద కోపమో ... మొత్తం కట్టలు తెంచుకుంటోంది ... నదిని శిక్షించక ఇంకా ఆవేశం గా ఆకాశం వైపు ఇంకా కోపం గా చూశాడు. ఈ సారి కాస్త చిన్న రాయి తీసుకుని పైకి విసిరాడు ... ఇంకా కోపం తగ్గక ఆవేశం గా అటు ఇటు చూస్తున్నాడు. అప్పుడే పెద్ద పూజారి గారి మంగళ హారతి గట్టిగా వినపడింది. ముకుంద ఇంకా ఆవేశం గా పెద్ద పెద్ద అంగలు వేస్తూ గుడి కి బయలుదేరాడు. ఎవరు పిలిచారో మరి..?!

దారి లో అతనికి ఇంకా కొత్త మోజు తీరని ఒక పాత జంట కంటపడింది. వయసు ఒంటికే కాని మనసుకు కాదు అని గట్టిగా నమ్మినట్లు ఉన్నారు ఇద్దరూ ... ఆయన చిలిపి అల్లరి కి ఆవిడ కొంటే కోపం చూపిస్తూ ... ఆవిడ ఆలక కి ఆయన పిల్లాడల్లే సమాధానం ఇస్తూ ... మళ్ళీ కవ్విస్తూ ... నేనేమన్నా తక్కువా అంటూ ఆవిడ కూడా ఉడికిస్తుంటే ఎంత సేపు అలా నిలబడి చూస్తూ ఉండిపోయాడో ... చేతికి వాచి లేక టైం తెలిలా. అలా ఇంకొకళ్ళ గుడిసెలో కి ఎక్కువ సేపు చూస్తూ ఉండకూడదు అని చెప్పే వాళ్ళు ... ఆపే వాళ్ళు లేరు మరి. ఆ జంట రోజంతా ఎంత కష్టపడి ఆ ముద్ద తెచ్చుకుందో... ఎవరి తో సంబంధం లేదు అన్నట్టు మురిసిపోతోంది. అలసిపోయి అల్లరి ఆపేసి ఎవరి పక్క మీద వారు చేరారు ఆ జంట. అలాంటి జీవితానికి తను నోచుకోలేదు అనే కోపం ఉందేమో ముకుంద లో ముప్పై ఏళ్లకే ... ఇంకా వడి వడి నడక తో గుడి వైపు కదిలాడు. ప్రతి అడుగు అతని చిన్నప్పటి బుడి బుడి అడుగులు లాగే ఉన్నాయి. కాస్త తడబాటు ... ఇంకాస్త తొందరపాటు ... అప్పుడు పట్టుకుని నేర్పించే తల్లి తండ్రి పక్కన లేరు ... మరి వాళ్ళని వెత్తుకుంటునే వెళ్తున్నాడో ఏమో ..?!

మొత్తానికి గుడి చేరాడు. ఎవ్వరూ లేరు ... అవును చీకట్లో నిద్ర దేవత తో చర్చల్లో ఉంటాం కాని గుళ్ళో దేవుడ్ని ఇబ్బంది పెట్టం కదా! గుడి చిన్నదే కాని పాతది ... ఎన్నో కథలు ... మహిమ గల దేవుడని పేరు ... ఉత్సవాలు చేస్తే జనం తో కిట కిట ... అబ్బో ఆ పది రోజుల వైభవం గురించి 350 రోజులూ చెప్పుకుంటూ ... మిగిలిన రోజుల్లో పెద్ద గా పట్టించుకోకపోయినా ఏమి అనని జాలి గుండే ఉన్న మూర్తి ... ప్రసాదం కోసం ... పండగలకి ... శుక్రవార శనివారాల్లో వచ్చే అమ్మాయిలకి కాసేపు బీటు కొట్టుకుండమని వచ్చే ముకుంద ఈ సారి మాత్రం పెద్ద హోమగుండం గుండెల్లో మోసుకుంటూ వచ్చాడు. కాసేపు బయటే ఉండి చూసి చూసి ... దగ్గర్లో ఉన్న రాయి తీసుకుని గేటు తాళం బద్దలు కొట్టే ... తరువాత ఏకంగా గర్భగుడి తాళం కూడా బద్దలు కొట్టి లోపలికి వెళ్ళాడు. మూర్తి నీ చూస్తూ ... ఎన్నో ప్రశ్నలు ఉన్నా ఏమడగాలో ... ఎలా అడగాలో తెలియక ... ఇంక అడగటం వ్యర్థం అనుకుని పక్కనే ఉన్న పెద్ద దీపపు కుంది అందుకుని పొడుచుకోబోయాడు. అంతలో ...

"ఆగు ... ఆగు ... ఎక్కడా చోటు దొరకనట్టు ... ఇక్కడ కి వచ్చే చావలా? అది కింద పెట్టి పో ఇక్కడి నుంచి ..!" అని వినబడింది. పెద్ద పూజారి వచ్చేసాడ అని వెనక్కి తిరిగి చూశాడు ... ఎవ్వరూ లేరు. మూర్తి వైపు చూశాడు... చలనం లేదు ... ఉండే అవకాశం కూడా లేదు.. తన భ్రమ భ్రాంతి అనుకుని ... కళ్ళు గట్టిగా మూసుకుని .. మళ్ళీ కుంది పైకెత్తాడు ... ఈ సారి ఎవరో లాగినట్టు అనిపించి కళ్ళు తెరిచాడు ... ఎదురు గా అనంతుడు ... అదే దేవుడు. చుట్టూ చూశాడు ... సినిమాల్లో లా గంటలు మోగలేదు ... దీపాలు వాటంతవే వెలగలేదు ... మూర్తి కూడా అలాగే ఉంది. కానీ ఆపే మనిషి లో మాత్రం తేజస్సు ... నేరుగా చూడాలి అంటే భయం వేసేంత తీక్షణంగా చూపు ... దివ్య మోహనం గా రూపం... అర్థం కాక ఆలోచన లో పడ్డాడు ముకుంద. "చివరకి ... ఇదొక్కటే మీ మనుషులు చెయ్యకుండా ఉంది ... ఇది కూడా చేసి నా గుడి మూయించకు ... అసలే ... పది రోజుల ఉత్సవం కోసం మాత్రమే ఇంకా ఇది ఉంచారు ... లేదంటే ఎప్పుడో ఏ road extension లో నో... రింగు రోడ్డు ప్లాన్ లో నో కూలిపోయి ... నా మూర్తి ఏ exhibition కో... ఇంకో ప్లేస్ కో transfer అయిపోయేది. బా .. బ్బాబు.. ఇక్కడ కాకుండా ఇంకెక్కడైనా ఈ ప్రోగ్రాం మార్చుకో ... ప్లీజ్!" అని అన్నాడు అనంతుడు.

ఏమి అర్ధం కాక ... అలా ఆశ్చర్యం గా చూస్తూ ఉండిపోయాడు ముకుంద. "నేను ... నిన్ను చావొద్దు అనడం లేదు ... మళ్ళీ అది మా free will కి అడ్డం పడటం అంటారు ... నీకేం తెలుసు మా కష్టాలు నువ్వేప్పుడైన మనుషుల కష్టాలు అనుభవించావా ... నీకు రాయి లా చూడటమే వచ్చు ... మేము పోయినా... ఎంత మొత్తుకున్నా... ఎన్ని మొక్కుకున్నా ... ఆర్చవు... తీర్చవు అంటూ మోనోలాగ్ అందుకుంటారు ... ఎందుకొచ్చిన బాధ నాకు ... వెళ్ళు!" అని తన గోడు వెళ్లబోసుకున్నాడు అనంతుడు. ఇదేం విడ్డూరం! అనే expression పెట్టి అలాగే చూస్తూ ఉండిపోయాడు ముకుంద. ఇంక ఇలా కాదు అని అనంతుడు చిన్న గా ముకుంద చెంప మీద చరిచాడు. ఒకే సారి అనంత లోకాలు చూసిన అనుభూతి కలిగి తేరుకున్నాడు మనోడు. "ఇంక నువ్వు పోతే తలుపులు వేసుకుంటా .." అని అనంతుడు దారి చూపించారు.

పూర్తి గా కోపం నషాళానికి అంటిన ముకుంద ... "అస్సలు ... మీ స్కీం ఎంటి సార్ ... పుట్టిస్తారు ... కానీ బ్రతకాలి అనే ఆశ చంపేస్తారు ... చివరికి ఇలాంటి నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నా మీకు కామెడీ గానే ఉంది తప్ప ... దీని వెనక ఉన్న కష్టం పట్టించుకోరు. నిజం గా మీరు రాయి కాబట్టే ... మా జీవితాలు ఇలా తగలబడి పోతున్నాయి. ఎంత మంది ఎన్ని సార్లు ఎన్ని రకాలు గా పిలిచిన పలకరు ... కరగరు ... మళ్ళీ మీకు ఉత్సవాలు... జాతరలు... పెద్ద పెద్ద గుడులు ... వాటి కోసం కొట్లాటలు ... అవి కట్టి జన్మ ధన్యం అనుకునే మూర్ఖులు..." అంటూ ఇంకా తన బాధ అంతా చెప్పబోతుంటే ... అనంతుడు అతని పేదల మీద తన వేలు పెట్టి ఆపేశాడు.

"ఇదే ... ఇదే వద్దు అన్నది. మీ నాయకుల ఓట్ల కి ఉపయోగపడి... మీరు నమ్మే స్వామీజీ లకి ఉపయోగపడి ... నీ లాంటి వాళ్ళు సైట్ కొట్టుకోవడానికి ఉపయోగపడి ... మళ్ళీ హుండీ ఆదాయం తో ఏవో మంచి పనులు చేస్తాం అంటే వాళ్ళకి ఉపయోగపడి ... నా గుడి చుట్టూ వ్యాపారాలు ... గుడి మీద రాజకీయాలు చేసే వాళ్ళు ... గుడి వెనుక దొంగలు ... గుడి పేరు చెప్పి దోచే దోంగలు ... ఎన్నో పాపాలు చేసినా ఒక పూజ, రెండు దానాలు, నాలుగు హోమాలు చాలు అని చెప్పే వాళ్లు ... ఇలా నన్ను వాడుకునే వాళ్ళు తప్ప వెడుకునే వాళ్ళు కనపడకే .. ఇలా ఉండటమే మంచిది అనుకున్న!" అన్నాడు అనంతుడు.

"నీ వల్ల మేము కాని మా వల్ల నువ్వు కాదు అంటారు. కానీ నువ్వు చెప్పేది మా వల్లే నువ్వు అన్నట్టు ఉంది!" అని గట్టిగానే జవాబు ఇచ్చాడు ముకుంద. "నిన్ను .. ఇక్కడ ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకోకు అని చెప్పే హక్కు నాకు లేదు అంటావా" అని అనంతుడు గదమాయించాడు.

"నా చావు కోరుకునే వాడికి ఎక్కడ అయితే ఏమిటి తేడా అంటున్నాను!" అని మళ్ళీ భయపడకుండా జవాబు ఇచ్చాడు.

"నీ చావు నీ కోరిక ... నాది కాదు." అన్నాడు అనంతుడు

"దానికి దారి తీసిన పరిస్థితులు నీ screenplay నే కదా కాదు అంటావా?" అని ప్రశ్నించాడు ముకుంద.

"అసలు నీ పేరేమిటి?" నువ్వెవరు అసలు అనే టోన్ లో అడిగాడు అనంతుడు.

"ప్రతి ప్రాణి నా వల్లే పుట్టింది... నేను చెబితేనే ఏ పనైనా చేస్తుంది అని నువ్వే గా చెప్పావు" అని జవాబిచ్చాడు ముకుంద.

"కదా ... మరి గుడి కి వచ్చి అర్చన అప్పుడు నీ గోత్ర నామాలు చెప్పడం దేనికి? నేను సృష్టించిన పూలు పండ్లు ... వాటి తో చేసిన పదార్ధాలతో మళ్ళీ నాకే నైవేద్యం పెట్టడం దేనికి? అంటే నువ్వే ఈ పూజ చేయిస్తున్నావ్ అని నాకు తెలియడానికా? నీ పక్కన వాళ్ళకి తెలియడానికా? నాకు బంగారు ఆభరణాలు నా వైభవం కోసమా? నీ వైభవం జనానికి చూపించడానికా? నీ ధర్మాల కోసం నేను నా భార్య ను వెళ్లగొట్టాను అన్నావు ... నీ వక్రబుద్ధి తో నన్ను భార్యాలోలుడు ... పచ్చి గా చెప్పాలి అంటే స్త్రీ లోలుడు అన్నావు... నేను చెప్పిన మాటల్లో నిగూఢ అర్ధలకి అపార్ధాలు తీశావు ... నేను చూపించిన దారి నీ నీకు అనుకూలం గా వంద వంక్రలు తిప్పావు ... నా కోసం యుద్ధాలు చెయ్యమన్నానా? నేను చెప్పిన మంచి ప్రచారం చేయమంటే నేను మాత్రమే నిజం అంటూ ఇంకొకరి నమ్మకం మీద నీళ్లు పోయామన్నాన? అవమానించి అసహ్యాహించుకోమన్నాన? నువ్వు నన్ను ఏ రూపం లో నమ్మిన అడ్డు చెప్పలేదు ... పిలిస్తే పలికాను... ఏ రూపం లో ఉన్న నేను నేనే ... ఆ రూపం లో నేను వేరు ఈ రూపం లో నేను ఇంకెవరో అనుకున్నది మీరే ... కనుక నేను మీకు ఇంతే ...!" అని చెప్పాడు అనంతుడు.

"అంటే ... ఎవరో చేసిన దానికి నేను బాధ్యుడినా? అందుకే నా నన్ను ఇలా వేధిస్తున్నవు? అందర్నీ కోల్పోయి ... ఏ ఆనందానికి నోచుకోని నేను బ్రతికి ఎం చేయాలి?" అంటూ బాధ తో అనంతుడి వైపు చూశాడు.

అనంతుడు చిరు మందహాసంతో చిటికె వేశాడు. అతని మూర్తి స్థానం లో మరో ఇద్దరు వ్యక్తులు ప్రత్యక్షమయ్యారు.

"నా ముందు చెయ్యాలి అనుకున్న పని వీళ్ళ ముందు చెయ్యి చూద్దాం! వాళ్ళు నిన్ను ఆపరు ... ఆపలేరు. నేను ఆపను.." అని తన చేతులు వెనక్కి పెట్టుకుని తను రెండు అడుగులు వెనక్కి వేశాడు.

తన తల్లదండ్రుల్ని అలా చూస్తూ నిశ్చేష్టుడయ్యాడు ముకుంద. అతని కళ్ళల్లో ఎన్నో బాధలని దిగమింగి దిగమింగి ఊరిపోయిన నీళ్లు ధారాపాతం లా కారుతూనే ఉన్నాయి. ఆ మూర్తులు ఇద్దరి లో అతని మీద ప్రేమ వాత్సల్యం కనపడుతున్నాయి. ఎదురుగా ఉన్న బిడ్డడిని ఆపలేక హత్తుకొలేక బాధ పడుతున్నారు ... ఏ కదలిక లేకుండా అలాగే ఉండిపోయిన కొడుకుని చూసి వారి లో ఆందోళన పెరిగిపోతోంది. ఇలా కట్టి పడేసినందుకు కళ్లతోనే చంపేసేలా చూశారు ఆనంతుడి వైపు. చిద్విలాసం తో అలాగే ఉన్నాడు అనంతుడు. చివరికి మోకాళ్ళ మీద కుప్పకూలి ... కుంది పక్కన పడేసి తల్లితండ్రుల కాళ్ళ మీద పడ్డాడు. తల పైకి ఎత్తి చూస్తే వాళ్ల కళ్లలో నవ్వు కనపడింది.

"నువ్వు కష్టాలు అన్నావు ... వాళ్ళు నిన్ను ఏ కష్టాలు పడకుండానే పెంచారా? వాళ్ళు నీ బ్రతుకు కోరుకున్నారు కోరుకుంటునే ఉంటారు. వాళ్ల కోసం బ్రతుకుతున్నా అనుకో ... అంత పెద్ద యుద్ధం చేయడానికి నేను చెప్పిన గీత ... నీ లో నువ్వు చేసే అంతర్యుద్ధానికి బాటా చుపదా? నిన్ను నువ్వు తెలుసుకో ... నేను చెప్పిన మాటల్లో ఉన్న అర్థం .. తర్కం తో ఆలోచించి గ్రహించు. నేను చెప్పాను అని చేసే మోసాన్ని గ్రహించు ... అప్పుడు నన్ను ఈ మూర్తి లో కాదు నీ లో వేతుకుతావు ... నీలో ఉన్న నేను నీ కోసమే ఉంటాను ... నువ్వై ఉంటాను ... అది అర్ధం చేసుకునే వరకు నన్ను ఎక్కడ వెతికినా కనపడను. నువ్వు నీలా ఉండటం లో ఆనందం లేదు అనుకుంటే నీ చావు లో కూడా నీకు ఆనందం కనపడదు...!"

ఈ మాటలు వింటు తల పైకి ఎత్తిన ముకుంద మీదకి వెచ్చని సూర్యకాంతి తాకింది. కళ్ళు తెరిచి చూసేసరికి గూడు లో చిన్న పక్షి కి తల్లి పక్షి మురిపెం గా ముద్దు పెట్టుకొని దాణా కోసం ఎగిరి వెళ్ళడం కనపడింది. నిన్న కనపడ్డ ముసలాయన నవ్వుతూ నదికి ఆ గట్టుకి తెడ్డు వేయడం కనపడింది. పొద్దున్నే స్కూల్ కి వెళ్ళడానికి కొందరు నవ్వుతూ కొందరు విస్సుకుంటు ఆ గట్టు దగ్గరికి రావడం కనపడింది. సూర్యుడు మళ్ళీ నది నీళ్లలో తన బింబం తో ఆడుకుంటూ తన పని అంతే ఉత్సహం గా చెయ్యడం కనపడింది. అన్ని చూస్తూ ఈ సారి ముకుంద శేఖర్ నవ్వుతూ నది గట్టు దాటి తన దారి పట్టాడు...

"Is it possible that you get extra mean to me on purpose?", asked Suvarchala.

Yogi is in his own world, suggesting that he likes to be more happy in his thought bubble than to answer her. The demon in Suvarchala got angered by his cold response and started to take her into the space, not even she wishes to be a habitant off. There is a disbelief in her eyes that his Yogi is pushing her so much. He is leaving her no option but to break the promise and his back too. She can be Bane for her Dark Knight. And he can her Joker!

Such is their relationship. They always find ways to bend the rules of relationship and go ahead to any lengths to keep the spice going. Yogi can be that naughty kid, who just loves to annoy and Suvarchala can be his bunny. Falling for his tricks and failing in her resolve not to.

Well, now the dam is ready to explode. Yogi needs protection otherwise he could be that one lone survivor of a theft that just left him with a dress hanging on his lean body. He is a quick thinker anyway and slowly, walked across to their dinning table to take the water bottle. He took it and carefully placed it on the table adjacent to where Suvarchala is sitting. For her his naughty streak is nothing new but today, the water went over her nose.

His off-handed suggestion to cool down with water bottle, did not go down well with her. He needed to respect her more in front of her friends. He needed to be more her, than him. But he enjoys being he and never let that change. Even tgihht it is a great quality and she appreciate it, she needs her words and wishes to be heard too. With all lava bursting out from her eyes with one killer look, Yogi ran away from there to a nearby friends house.

In the morning, Suvarchala called on his phone, Yogi did not answer. She knocked on the door of the friends flat. Friend's wife answered it and she took her inside. Yogi is lying unconscious there.

Suvarchala couldn't believe her eyes. He is not getting up even after her slaps and splashes of water sprinkled on him. She went near his heart to hear the beat, hoping it would be cranking up at 180 or 200 beats per second. It is very mild, the beats are almost non-existent. She caught his pulse to get an idea, it is even more weak. But it is existent. She rushed him to do an hospital after a mild CPR, restoring his heart beat to 35 beats per second.

That is the time, she couldn't think about anything but losing him. He is the man, who stood by her when her parents did not want her study further. He fought with them as her close friend. Did not lecture them but challenged them that she will get a top rankings in entrance. She was inspired by his confidence. He made fun of her, teased her but never ever did he let her doubt herself. He became her sunshine in the dark night. She passed out with flying colours. They won, their first win as a couple.

She decided then and there, that he can't be love of anyone else. He belongs to her. She took him to her special place, her favourite spot in the world, her father's study and kissed him. She showered him with kisses and locked the leaps. He did not flinch. He accepted her divine showers and reciprocated. It happened in front of her parents. She did not care. They couldn't break them apart. They just called his parents and discussed. As their wish to unite is stronger than their objections and the fear of social stigma, made them accept what stars have already decided.

It is just a ceremony to celebrate what destiny already locked. So, with no hurry, heasked her to find a career of ambition and waited for 4 years, for her to achieve it. As she started getting confident, he proposed and this time, looking at their strength in unity, parents happily united them publically.

They just completed 5th anniversary. Her old world name has been his major weapon to tease her. She likes her name as it means 'nice skin' and 'good name' if we dig deep. Hell, he is still ridiculously making jokes at the expense of it. He just takes it a bit far at times and that is one time, he couldn't resist. She couldn't take it and snapped. Even at the home, he seemed to take it lightly.

Unable to take it, she showed his anger face. They don't need words to hurt each other, they simple gestures and actions are enough. He just walked away from the house giving her space.

Doctors took him to ICU and told that he had a neuro stroke, due to sugar levels coming down. He did not eat the whole day. In the morning, he got exhausted due to wijs and in the night, before dinner at her friends place, he cracked too many jokes. She couldn't stand it and he followed her to the house. Looking at her, he never bothered to eat. Even at his friends place, he fell on the bed and did not get up.

Doctors advised that he has to take three meals per day without fail. She walked to his bed after he is shifted to the room. She almost lost him. He is lying there like a small baby, resting. She walked close to him and caressed his hairs, slightly.

He woke up, his eyes are happy to see her, he knows what she could have gone through all the while. He wanted to talk to her, tell her that he won't repeat it again. Bit ye could really, bring out all the energy in him to speak few words, she shut him up with her lips. Breaking it, she said,

"It Never Happened!"

Catching his hand tighter,

"You never even dared to leave me! It Never Happened.."

She broke into tears and all the anger, all the anguish, all the tension, all the frustration, all the fears drained out in those salty drops of rain.

"అద్భుతం అనేది ఒక్కసారే జరగాలి మాటి మాటికి జరిహిత్ర అది అద్భుతం అనిపించుకుంటుందా?" అని అడిగిన ఆ అమాయకత్వం నా కింకా గుర్తే. తను ఒక రోజు నా తో మాట్లాడాలి నన్ను గట్టిగా హత్తుకుని ముద్దాడి ఎదో సాధించినట్టు ఎగరాలి ... ఒక రోజు కష్టపడి అలిసిపోయి నా వాడిలో సేద తీరాలి ... ఇంకొరోజు నాకే అమ్మ అయి లాలించి బుజ్జగించాలి ... ఇలా ఎన్నో కోరికలు ... అన్నిటికి నా అందాల రాకుమారి దగ్గర సమాధానం ఉండేది ... అది చాలు బాధ మరవడానికి ... ఆ నవ్వు చాలు మళ్ళీ మళ్ళీ ప్రేమ లో పడటానికి. అది తను నాకు ...

"ఈ ప్రయాణం ఇంత ఒంటరి గా చెయ్యకర్లేదు .. నేనుంటా నేస్తం లా ... ఎక్కడి దాకా?" అని ఒక అపరిచితుడు కానీ తెలిసిన వాడిలా కనిపిస్తున్న ఒక నడి వయస్సు అందగాడు చమత్కారం గా ఎక్కడో ఆలోచిస్తున్న సూర్య ప్రతాప్ ఎదురు సీట్ లో కూర్చున్నాడు. ఆ పిలుపు తో ఆలోచనల నుంచి బయటపడ్డ ప్రతాప్ ఆ మాటల కి అర్ధం ఏమిటి అన్నట్టు చూసాడు.

అపరిచితుడు : "నా పేరు చెప్పినా గుర్తు పెట్టుకునే ఆలోచన కాదు నీది. కళ్ల కుళాయి ని కట్టేసి కాసేపు హృదయాన్ని మాటల తో తేలిక చెయ్యి. "

ప్రతాప్: "తెలియని వాళ్ల తో మాట్లాడను!"

అపరిచితుడు: "అయితే తెలిసిన వాడిని అనుకో .. నేను నిన్ను ఎక్కడికి వెళ్తున్నావు అని అడిగా ... ఆస్తి అడగలేదు గా దీనంగా గాల్లోకి చూసే బదులు మాట్లాడితే భారం తగ్గుతుంది. ఒంటరితనం నీకు అలవాటు ఎలాగో లేదు .. ఉన్నట్టు నటన వై అని ..."

ప్రతాప్: "ఎవరో అనుకుని ఇంకెవరితోనో మాట్లాడుతున్నారు. మనకి నువ్వు అనుకునేంత పరిచయం లేదు .. ఇప్పుడు నాకు చేసుకునే ఉత్సాహం కూడా లేదు .."

అపరిచితుడు (నవ్వుతూ): "దూరం చేసుకునే కొద్దీ మనుషులు ఒంటరి వాళ్ళు అవుతారు ... ఇప్పుడు కూడా ఎందుకు అంత పంతం?"

ప్రతాప్ : (చిరాగ్గా) "అప్పుడు ఇప్పుడు అంటూ ఏంటి నాకీ నస ... ట్రైన్ లో పడుకోవటానికి బెర్త్లుంటాయి .. హాయిగా నిద్రపోండి .. నా బుర్ర తింటే ఏమొస్తుంది?"

అపరిచుతుడు: "ఒకసారి చుట్టూ చూడు .."
ప్రతాప్ కి అప్పుడే అర్ధం అయ్యింది ఆ కంపార్ట్మెంట్ లో బెర్తులేవని ... పై గా ఎదురు బదురు సీట్లు అన్ని .. ఏక్కడో చూసినట్టు ఉన్న జనాలు అంత నింపేశారు కానీ అంతా స్మశాన నిశ్శబ్దం. ఈ మనిషి స్టేషన్ వచ్చే వరకు నా పక్కనే అన్నమాట అని మనసు లో అనుకుని

ప్రతాప్: "మాట్లాడే ఉద్దేశ్యం లేదు .. మీరు చెబితే వింటా!"

అపరిచితుడు:"ఇది నీ ప్రయాణం .. ఆలోచనలతో కట్టిపడేస్తున్న మనసు ... ఓదార్పు కోరుకుంటున్న దుఃఖం .. అయినవారికీ చేరువకాలేను కనుక వీడిపోతున్న ప్రేమావేశం ... ఇవన్నీ నీవు వినే వాడు దొరికాడు అని చెప్పేసుకోక ఆలోచిస్తావేం ... కానీ ..!"

ప్రతాప్: "మీకేం కావాలి స్వామి?!"

అపరిచితుడు: "నీ భారం ..."

ప్రతాప్: "ఏంటి????"

అపరిచుతుడు: "నేను ఇంతసేపు మాట్లాడితే ... ఈపాటికి పొర్లు దండాలు పెట్టేసేవారు ... చెప్పవయ్యా .. ఇంకెంత ఆడిగించుకుంటావ్ .."

ప్రతాప్: "సరే ... ఎలాగో వదలవు నన్ను ... ఈ ట్రైన్ ఇంకా అడవుల్లో నే ఉంది .. కానీ .. నేనేం అలిచిస్తున్నానో విను .."

రేడియో స్టేషన్ మారింది ... ఫీల్ మై లవ్ అంటోంది ... అలా కార్తీక నడుచుకుంటూ వస్తోంది .. సాంగ్ రెండో చరణం ముందు దేవి కొట్టిన మ్యూజిక్ కి మనోడి expression సింక్ అయ్యింది .. విషయం ముందే తెలిసినట్టు కార్తీక తెల్లని దుస్తుల్లో దివ్య సుందరి లా .. అదే అదే తెలుగు లో వైట్ డిరెస్స్ లో ఏంజెల్ లా వచ్చి కూర్చుంది. ఇంకేం మాట రాని మౌనమిది అంటూ బాలు ఇళయరాజా కృతి ఒకటి అందుకున్నాడు .. ఆమె ని అలాగే మనోడు చూస్తూ ఉంటే .. ఆయన శిష్యుడు మనో ప్రియ ప్రియతమ రాగాలు అంటూ ఇంకో ఇళయరాజా కృతి పట్టాడు ... అయినా ఈ మహానుభావుడు కదలటంలా ... చివరికి ఆమె సహనం కట్ట తెగి "ఎవరైనా ఆర్డర్ తీసుకుంటారా?" అని అరిచింది. వచ్చేసాడు .. దెబ్బకి ఈ లోకం లోకి వచ్చేసి ప్రతాప్ .. ఈ సారి ఏ.ఆర్.రెహ్మాన్ కృతి అంజలి .. అంజలి సాక్షి గా .. "నేను నిన్ను ప్రేమిస్తున్నా ... నాకు ఊహ తెలిసినప్పటి నుంచి .. మొదట్లో ఇది కేవలం స్నేహం ..కానీ ఇప్పుడు ప్రేమ .. నువ్వు ఒప్పుకుంటే రేపు పెళ్లి .." అని తేల్చేశాడు. ఇంత డైరెక్ట్ గా చెప్పేస్తాడు అనుకోని కార్తీక ఆనందం నిండిన ఐ డ్రాప్స్ వదులుతూ "yes" అనేసింది ... ఇంకేం రేడియో లో థమన్ డప్పులు బీట్ స్టార్ట్ చేసాడు, blockbuster సాక్షి గా ప్రతాప్ మైండ్ లో అల్లు అర్జున్ , ప్రభుదేవా తనే అనే ఫీలింగ్ స్టార్ట్ అయ్యింది.. కాసేపు ఉంటే డాన్స్ చేసేవాడే .. చుట్టూ ఉన్న వాళ్ళ మీద దయ తో ఆర్డర్ తెచ్చేసాడు సర్వర్ సుందరం .. అలా ఎం సందేహం లేదు అంటూ కల్యాణి మాలిక్ వెనక భరోసా ఇస్తుంటే కార్తీక .. ప్రతాప్ .. ఇద్దరు ప్రేమ పావురాలు అయ్యి ఎగిరి పోయారు. ....

కాలం కరిగింది. ప్రేమ తిరిగింది అనే అనుమానం మొదలయ్యింది కార్తీక లో. అప్పుడు సింగల్ కానీ ఇప్పుడు ఒక ఫ్యామిలీ. తన మీద మాత్రమే దృష్టి పెట్టలేడు కానీ ఇది వరలా మాత్రం లేడు. ఎప్పుడూ అసంతృప్తి యాడ్ మోడల్ లా ఉంటాడు. ఏంటో ఈ మనిషి అనుకుంటూ ఉంది. ప్రతాప్ వచ్చాడు. ఆనందం గా ఉన్నాడు. ప్రతాప్ పాస్ అయిన ఎన్నో సబ్జెక్ట్స్ లో కార్తీక కోపం ఒకటి. వెంటనే కొడుకు కౌశిక్ ని ఎత్తుకుని ఆడుతూ ఆమె ఆలోచనల్లో ఉన్న భయం తీసేసి షాపింగ్ అన్నాడు. అయిన ఒక్కసారి అయినా మాట్లాడుకోవాల్సిన విషయం ఇది .. కనుమరుగు అయిపోయింది ..

ప్రతాప్: "కార్తీక "

మాములుగా అతని పిలుపు ఆమె లో ఆనందం నింపుతుంది కానీ ఈ సారి కలవరం మొదలైంది. దూరమయ్యింది అనుకున్న బాధ ఎదో తనని వెతుకుంటు వచ్చి నుంచుంది. ఆ పిలుపు లో ఉన్న వేదన తన ఆవేదనని పెంచేసింది. మాట్లాడలేను అనుకుంటూ వెళ్ళబోయింది. కానీ ప్రతాప్ చెయ్యిపట్టుకుని ఆపేసాడు. ఇక తప్పదు.

ప్రతాప్: "పరిపోయేంత తప్పు నువ్వు చేసావా? నన్ను దూరం పెట్టి కనీసం మాట్లాడకూడనంత తప్పు నేను చేసానా? "

కార్తీక : "నువ్వేం చేశావో అది మర్చిపోలేక ... వాడిని నీకు దూరం చేసాను అనే పేరు వద్దనే నాన్న వాళ్ళ తో ఉంటున్నాను. "

ప్రతాప్: "అదే ఎందుకు? తప్పు ఉంటే సరిదిద్దాలి పరిపోతే ఎలా?"

కార్తీక: "నాకు నీతో ఉండటం విషం. చేదు అయితే సర్దుకోవచ్చు విషం మింగితే చావుకోసం ఎదురు చూపూలే మిగుల్తాయి .."

ప్రతాప్ (ఆ మాటలకి చచ్చిపోయినా ఎదో ఆశ కొద్దీ) : "సరే ... విడాకులు తీసుకుని వెళ్లిపో ... కానీ శిక్ష కి కారణం చెప్పు!"

కార్తీక: "కౌశిక్ వారం రోజులు హాస్పిటల్ లో ఉన్నాడు అపుడు నువెక్కడ ఉన్నావ్ ..?"

ప్రతాప్ : "సింగపూర్ వెళ్తున్న షిప్ లో .. అప్పుడే చెప్పాను గా పని మీద తప్పడం లేదు అని. నువ్వు పని మీద వెళ్ళినప్పుడు నేను వాడిని చాలా సార్లు డాక్టర్ దగ్గరకి తీసుకెళ్ళాను. ఆ విషయం మీద ఎన్నో సార్లు సారి చెప్పాను. కుదిరినప్పుడు మామగారి తో నాన్నతో మాట్లాడాను .. నీ తో మాట్లాడతాను అంటే నువ్వు కంగారు పడుతున్నావ్ అన్నారు .. మూడు రోజులకి మామగారు చేసి భయం లేదు పని చూసుకుని రండి అంటే ఇంకేం చెయ్యాలి . దానికే నేను విషం అయిపోయానా? ఎంత సిల్లీ గా ఉందొ తెలుసా ఇది?"

కార్తిక: "మన బిడ్డ చచ్చిపోతాడు ఏమో అనే భయం నుంచి ఓదార్పు నీ మాట. అది ఇవ్వలేకపోయావ్ .. నా మరో బిడ్డ ని చంపేసావ్ ... నీ తో ఆనందం గా చెప్పాలి అనుకున్న కానీ నీకు పని ముఖ్యం .. డబ్బు ముఖ్యం .. ప్రేమ అంటూ వెంటపడ్డావ్ .. పెళ్లి అంటూ ఆనందంగా ఉందాం అన్నావ్ .. ఇప్పుడు నాకు బాధ తప్ప ఎం మిగిల్చావ్? అందరిలా తిరగాల్సిన నా బిడ్డ ని వల్లే మందు తాగాడు. వాడి ముందు తాగకు రా అంటే ... ఒత్తిడి అన్నావ్ .. ఇవాళ వాడు "అమ్మా! నాన్న తాగే జ్యూస్ కావాలి" అంటుంటే ఆ రోజు అది తాగే వాడి ప్రాణం మీదకి తెచ్చుకున్నాడు అనే ఆలోచన వచ్చిన ప్రతి సారి నిన్ను ఎందుకు పెళ్లి చేసుకున్నా అని బాధ పడుతూనే ఉన్నా. నీ తో ఉండలేను .. త్వరగా సంతకం పెట్టి నన్ను క్షమించి వదిలెయ్యి .. నిన్ను ప్రేమించి తప్పు చేశాను!"

"నాకు తను అలా అనేసరికి ఎం చెయ్యాలో తెలియలేదు. నేను ఇలా జరుగుతుంది అనుకోలేదు. శిక్ష నాకే పడాలి. తప్పు నాదే .. తను చెబుతూనే ఉంది అలవాటు చేసుకోకు అని వినలేదు .. నేను ఒక ప్రాణం తీసాను. మెసరో ప్రాణం లో జీవం లేకుండా చేసాను. నా బిడ్డ కి నా అలవాటు రాకూడదు అనే ఇలా దూరం గా వచ్చేసాను. మనేయ్యలేను .. ఎం చెయ్యాలి ... "

అపరిచితుడు: "బ్రతికే ప్రయత్నం చేసి ఉండాలి. నీ లోకం లో ఎన్నో ఆనందాలు ఉన్నాయి కానీ మత్తు లో ఇంకో లోకం కావాలి అనుకున్నావ్ .. ఇప్పుడు నీ భార్య, కొడుకు ముఖ్యం గా నీ మీద ఆధారపడ్డ ని తల్లిదండ్రులు ఏమాయ్యారో చూడు ..." అంటూ అతని కి కిటికీ వైపు చూపించాడు.

ప్రతాప్ ఫోటో చూస్తూ ఏడుస్తున్న అమ్మా నాన్నా .. వాళ్ళకి తనే కొడుకు అయిన కార్తీక ని చూస్తూ ఏడ్చేశాడు.

అపరిచితుడు: "నీ భార్య నీ లో మార్పు కోరుకుంది .. నువ్వు ఇలా కొత్త జీవితం ఇచ్చావ్.. నీ పిరికితనానికి వాళ్లని చూస్తూ ఏడుస్తూ గడువు. నీ ఆత్మ హత్య కి శిక్ష నీకు కాదు వాళ్ళకి .. "

ప్రతాప్ తల తిప్పి చూసే సరికి అక్కడ ఎవ్వరూ లేరు .. ఎటు చూసినా తన వాళ్లే ...

Symphony of Love ...

As Rangan Bharat passed by the theatre, he saw an young woman trying to pacing from right to left. He observed her and she is pacing in a pattern. As he saw her move, he thought about the rhythm, that is going on in his head from quite some time. The pattern is a perfect fit and he got his tune set in the rhythm pattern. He immediately ran to his car and rushed to his composing fheatre. Wrote down all the beats in the form of notations and as his hands started to write them, we are able to lose ourselves into the pleasing flute to roaring Veena. A master in Carnatic music, he mixed three ragas to achieve the composition. By the time, he completed writing, he is dann excited thinking about the score and his phone rang loud bringing into the world of non-sense. Yes, his life doesn't make any sense to him if it is not connected to music. He unwillingly answered the phone and it is Raksha Rangan, his wife.

Raksha: "Where are you? Do you know what time it is? "

Rangan: "I'm at the studio, working!"

Yes, for a man like Rangan studio should be his home but it is not. As Rangan went near by her swollen eyes dye to extensive crying are visible. He kneeled down to her and as she saw she started sobbing loud .. some words escaped her mouth ..

Raksha : "I'm turning sixty tomorrow!"

Rangan understood what that meant to her. She is not upset about the age but she is upset about missing her job. She has been teaching ever since she graduated and that has become her identity. The affair fiasco of her composer husband did become a huge news-ense but she never missed a class. If she gets upset she used to schedule even more classes for the day. Even though administration wanted her to take up principle role, she rejected it. She is just a teacher. All she wants to do is let the kid sitting in front of her understand the subject and for that she adopts the best possible method a kid can understand. If a kid understands the topic late, she is happy to call him home. If another gets it quickly, she is happy to ask him or her progress further. If a student needs a chocolate to listen she is ready to give it, if another needs a smack to understand, she is ready to that too. Never a student complained on ger, never a mother felt threatened by her presence and never a father thought about her in any other sense than a teacher. She made the 62 year old kid, Rangan understand his mistake of trying to be with her and the other woman too in the fashion he better understands, music. For him, she learnt music and jumbled up the ragas so much that he had to correct her and she is person who forced him like the high beam in the tunnel to turn around. Now, she has to leave that very part of life and not go to the school, not get up early and she should not even look at the kid and try to understand how he or she is anymore, to invent a way to explain them. This is a crisis point. Rangan could not understand how to solve this issue.

It is easy to say, call home kids and take tuitions but she is a person who stays in avsecluded area like school where she wants to teach, she is used to environment and also the essence. Now, she can't be sitting at home all day and wait for one or two hours of life. That one hour can't help her to live for, facing 23 hours of lifelessness. He understands that but what to do. How to solve this problem? Unable to find an idea, he let's her rest head in his embrace and even though his old legs can't support his position long, he did not move to comfort. Just stayed that way comforting her.

The night has gone by ....

He escorted her to the last day of her service and as she unwillingly let all of them celebrate her retirement with sobs of joy and testimonials of her old students. She just turned into a stone. Her lifeless being is quite evident to Rangan. He brought her back home and she crashed on to her bed without changing or eating. He understood the solution needs to be fast. He can't wait for days to resolve it.

He moved out of the house as he is unable to stay there anymore and started his car. The music of traffic and hustle and bustle of the city is not giving him enough inspiration to find the tune to his solution. Suddenly, a bus went past him and he mind struck a G-string on guitar. He rushed back to his studio and saw the entire place. His passion and years of hard work is mirrored there. But he has decided .. it is final ...

After few days, lifeless Raksha entered the studio as Rangan's firm insistence pulled her into the room. She saw a bunch of kids waiting for her there with notation notepads. He took her to the chair where a violin is waiting for her. As it is her favourite instrument she took and it started playing mouna Raga. All the students took the notes and started trying to play accordingly. Some got wrong, some got right, immediately, the teacher in her found life and she started teaching them. There she is his Raksha, alive and happy. Once a largest studio with all the world renowned requirement is now a big hall filled with students and the teacher. After the class ..

Raksha: "What have you done?"

Rangan: "Just let another composer take all the equipment. Sorry, it took me so many days, but your .. our school is here! You can take lessons to the willing kids here for as many hours and batches you wish."

Raksha: " What about your random tunes?"

Rangan: "I am getting too old to run around now, All I need is a laptop and recorder, got to know that we don't need all that heavy equipment unless we produce score for a movie or a concert. I retired from that career and now, I am free of constant tension to follow someone else's ideas to produce my tunes. I am more home now and here with you I don't have to even worry about running back to home and missing the address or even shuffling back and forth. If you're here all the time then this is my HOME!"

Unable to say anything more, she just hit him like she playfully does and he understood that today, she is quite impressed and moved. He resorted to observing the patterns and she to teaching the students. A Symphony of Love took over as the students started playing in sync...

Journey Back to the Mother's Womb!

I can't go back to being the person I was yesterday and I dislike and disown myself, Today! What should I be then? What can I be? These questions probe through my heart day in and day out every day! How do I get rid of them? What should I do?

Radha loves me for what I am! But can she accept what I did to save my job? Yes, it is scandalous to dvelve into the details, somehow I did not feel the necessity to apologise, Am I not capable or is it my male chauvinistic ego that stops me? I am writing this dairy post to let the world know what my hard exterior completed by ego dissected and confused by societal norms really suffers within the heart of the hearts. How do I let my wife feel safe around me again? What should I say to my daughter to not feel let down by her father? Can normalcy return ever in my life?

Me: Banana Milk Shake with Caramel Chocolate.

Suddenly I heard a lady passing by me at the counter saying,

Lady: Make that two!

I recognise the voice. She is my boss. What does she want now? Why is she here? I'm not going to turn her side.

Lady: I only see you at the office these days, don't you think we can go for a holiday trip, honey?!

I am taken aback by such audacity of a woman to speak such tone in the public. How could she? Doesn't she have a decency? What kind of a society are we living in?

I just took my order and walked back to our table. My daughter got excited by looking at her favourite drink. Her happiness defines the world for me! Can she ever grow up to be such a woman like my boss? Do people like me who have no voice in front of such people, lend to them growing bold by day?

My wife threatens me for a divorce. I was forced by my boss to accompany her trip. How can she not see that? Yes, I got angry for questioning right on my face. Yes, I pushed her, but does that mean I no longer love her? If I am an egoist and a two-timer why would I open up about what happend? Can't she see me for what I am? How dare she thinks I am a bigot? Ok, if she again does the same, I will not hit her, I will not tell her, will just sign on the papers, that's it! Yes, that would be a lesson to this useless housewife. Just to get back at this b***h, I will spend the night at my boss's.

Wow, pure lust can sometimes be so satisfying than the love with conditions. Anyways, I have travelled this far into the pit, further fall can only benefit my career and with my wife deciding to divorce me, I do need money to support the alimony claims, don't I? Anyways, I will truly get back at her when I get my daughter to stay with me! Yes, that will be the right answer for all her questions!

Today, I made her see what I am! Humiliated her and proved her to be a liar in the court. For the audacity of a dependent wife, this will be the right answer. No alimony, no respect, well being a mother she does get some custody of my daughter, but I will slowly turn her against too. Well, if my boss being a lady can get away with it, why can't I? Sure, this will be a new beginning! I will be the player, enough of the sadistic social norms which don't lead to pleasure and happiness. My looks and physique doesn't deserve such a boring life too! Well, here I come a free soul, ladies!

My daughter, Rekha, despises me. All the time she asks for attention. How can I understand her problems? Being a teen, don't she need to show some maturity? Anyways, I was approached yesterday by one of her friends. Still got it going, dude! Cool men like me never get old!

Saw Radha, yesterday, moved on to some other person. Still she was curious about our daughter! Still she was curious about my life! Such play actors these women! Don't she have another family now? Well, as if she was some great saint, she accused me, ME off being a prostitute. What does her behaviour make her? A matured friend? My foot!

My horrors never end! This teenage sex animal, made mu life hell again. What was the need for her to do so? Can't she wait till her marriage? Who the hell in the world gave these girls permission to have any feelings? What sexual urges? It is men who needs to control them!

Now, should I throw out and teach a lesson? Hmmm, yes that would be the right way to go forward. Aborted her child without letting anyone know. But she should learn how to behave. That bloody woman, her mother chose to leave her with me and she would be laughing after knowing this, for getting back at me! "Look, how characterless, your daughter turned out to be", can feel people saying this too. Let me get rid of this abomination, right now!

Can't find a right doctor, all have become commercial. Don't have a person who can respond to my pleas too. What mistake did I commit to see this day?

Yes, Yes .... I did cheat on my wife, made her look insane in court, distanced her from my daughter and even I denied any love that my daughter could get. Was not beside her when she needed me, may be my free will could have made her not realise the implications of giving into teenage hormones, at least her mother would have helped her understand the difference between lust and love.

Wait, why am I doing this to myself? I did all those with proper reasons! I cannot be wrong, I'm noway wrong! How I miss my mother now, she would have taken my side when even I find faults in me! ....

My Recommendations:: Best Movies of 2016!

The year 2016 has come to an end and we are entering the new calendar year, 2017 marking that our dear rock in the universe, Earth completed its one revolution around our beloved Star Sun like its been doing for billions of years. Well, as humans we are bound to celebrate such an occasion looking forward to a new year with renewed enthusiasm leaving the bygone year worries to the history for records. The cinema in 2016 saw some great moments and very dull moments as well. Recounting the best moments to step into the new year on a positive note, I am giving you the list of my best cinematic experiences in theatre for the year of 2016!

I watch films from 6 languages mainly, English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Of all these Kannada is the industry I am amazed and impressed with the fast progress and different cinema it is encouraging and throughly disappointed with the lack of audacity to encourage freshness on the part of Telugu Filmmakers! Digging deep into the list I restricted them to 10! Choosing from all languages I've watched this year.

(Before reading further, keep this in mind that I am giving out my personal list and this does not need to be absolute and it just reflects my opinion and taste in movies.)

Denis Villeneuve's Arrival:

I love any movie that challenges the norms and presents a point that it believes in, with a strong impact. Arrival is one such movie that threw me off my reservations in a movie theatre and captured my imagination regarding an alien entry on earth. As a human being we are bound to be surprised and fear the extra terrestrial existence and them invading our mother, our safe heaven our home. Although Hindu mythology does hint at some invasions of Aliens and their technology throwing different curveballs at our understanding of modern astronomy, sci-fi genre in films has been vastly exploring the idea of invasion in a more blockbuster entertainment way with epic battles and blasts all around. But this movie directed by Enemy, Sicario director Denis Villeneuve gives a total new dimension to their Arrival and for the sheer brilliance of visuals and content the idea explores on screen this movie is one of the best I saw this year and I would recommend you to watch it on screen for sure!

Damien Chazelle's La La Land:

I am not a fan of musicals even though I grew on a staple diet of song and dance movies. I slowly got devoid of having a song and dance expression in movies with the lazy usage aimed at exploring the skin show of glam dolls in southern movies. Well, Whiplash when it came out I was amazed by the story telling and with this one Damien managed to even amaze me with his shot composition and unique song ideas. This movie needs to be re-watched just for the elegance and grace of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. I recommend this movie for a theatrical experience and also the pure quality that a musical should be and can be. Those long sequences that appear to be single takes, bravo Team!

Nitesh Tiwari's Dangal:

My love for this movie has already been articulated in a separate article in my blog here. I would like to explain what made me place it my list. This may not be the best sports movie ever to be made. It could be filled with cliches all over and at times drags a bit too much. But the sincerity of the actors and the love for the sport shown by the entire team won me over. Tell me how many professionals can nail a movie in 8 months of training like the young actors did in this movie? I recommend you to watch this movie at least once in your lifetime.

Vineeth Srinivasan's Jacobinte Swargarajyam:

Malayalam cinema once was known for its adult b-grade movies even though the main land movies were going strong with diverse content. The resurgence of youth in Malayalam cinema changed its path from being unidimensional content producing industry to the best film making industry in Southern India, if not in India at present. The diverse content, with utmost sincerity that this industry offers is highly admirable. Coming to my selection from the industry, even though I enjoyed several other movies from Malayalam, none of them have forced me to make them part of my list like Jacobinte Swargarajyam did. The movie explores a family's plight in a foreign land when their pillar of support was harshly cheated and forced to take refugee in another foreign land leaving them with problems to fight. Nivin Pauly, Vineeth Srinivasan and Renji Panicker are the pillars of this family drama and even though there are moments that drag on, the pure gold standard cinematic brilliance captures you through out the second hour of the movie.

Also watch Action Hero Biju and Oppam that released this year along with this movie, you will be amazed at the sincerity shown in filmmaking and fun they provide.

Hemanth Rao's Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu

Kannada Cinema these days is throwing a great challenge to other language makes with the insurgence of young talents. Ulidaruvu Kandante's Rakshith Shetty and reliable Ananth Nag holds this movie so well that you fall in love with these characters of Venkob Rao and his son, Shiva. The movie transforms the father-son relation in the most heart touching way possible and Hemanth Rao directed the movie superbly. Charan Raj's music is something that you cannot miss. Just watch the movie to understand why this is such a cinematic achievement with an Alzheimer's patient as a main character.

Also watch U-turn, directed by Lucia director from Kannada this year. The movie could have easily been in the list but the last act just took a U-turn for me.

Shakun Batra's Kapoor & Sons:

This is one choice of movie that even surprised me. The movie with a popular track like Kar gayi Chull, I expected it to be flaunting some skin of its flawlessly beautiful lead actress and was seriously worried about Rishi Kapoor as a grand father. The movie written and directed by Shakun Batra expertly showcased the tension in the family and underlying explained how a simple trivial wish of a grandfather to capture a photograph with his family can be an exercise on relationships and growth. Final 30 minutes of the movie are true writer's gold mine.

Vijay Kumar's Uriyadi:

This movie made by an aspirant took a lot of time to find distributors for a theatrical release. Even though it is highly visible on screen, you can look beyond such minor disturbances as the content captures you. The movie was made with a shoe string budget and the lead actor being the writer and director of the movie, one tends to feel given some good technicians and budget, he can do wonders on screen. This movie is one that needs an encouragement from all corners of the society. Action sequences will really amaze you.

Vamsi Paidipally's Oopiri:

Telugu Cinema this year saw few movies that tried different things but each and everything was in same tried and tested formula. This one film that was a remake of a French drama, Intouchables, delivered at least a flaw less hour of pure blissful entertainment. The freshness in the subject goes missing in the second hour but the movie having a box office hero like Akkineni Nagarjuna in a wheel chair, is one retribution from the high end commercial meaningless cinema that Telugu cinema keeps producing year after year. Karthi and Nag's bonding on screen is the best cinematic experience that you see in years.

Also, I recommend PelliChoopulu, from Telugu cinema this year.

Shoojit Sircar and Aniruddha Roy Chowdary's PINK:

Pink is one movie this year that moved me to tears. I entered into the theatre thinking that will be another film from new age Bollywood trying to ape a Korean drama in the name of originality, placing it on Amitabh Bachchan's shoulders for an aid. But to my surprise Tapsee Pannu who was reduced for skin show and glam doll roles by Telugu Cinema delivered her best as a performer in this movie. In fact my connect with her character, carried me into the movie and made me invest so much even though the outcome was quite predictable. And I definitely agree with the message of the movie, Yes, "NO means NO!" If we cannot respect women then we do not respect ourselves too. Much needed film with social responsibility this year!

Also, watch Aligarh that released this year with a honest performance from Manoj Bajpai and some times cold and some times hot direction by Hansal Mehta.

Vettrimaran's Visaranai:

This movie won National Accolades even before it got a theatrical release. Being made in 2015 and released in 2016, it is tough to ignore such a gem of a movie. This movie demands you to sit and notice the plight of jail bound human beings even if they are criminals. It asks major reforms in our law outlook and treatment of fellow human beings who might have committed a mistake in the spite of anger and those who were wrongly accused. You need some strong heart to digest the reality but son't give it a miss.

This is my round up for the year 2016 and I hope to see you soon. Wish you a much happier Cinema Year, 2017!

DANGAL - Wrestle the odds

This year has been a mixed bag all together with several films being great like Pink and rest of them being disposable like Great Grand Masti. But every year you are in search of a film that makes you go gaga over the time it took for the makers to assemble it. The sheer brilliance that went into making a movie of such scale and perfection. For me each and every movie no matter what is the story needs such an effort and dedication from the makers whose ultimate goal lies in box office performance. Not judging their intentions but you do need some sort of reliability from the makers when you're investing your valuable time and money for almost 3 to 4 hours in travel and theatre for the sake of entertainment. This year I found my worth for every penny theatrical experience in DANGAL!

Right from the word go, movie sucks you into its world and never lets you wander off. It never demands you to invest your intellectual energy at the same time it neither lets you think about any other worldly problems. You're concerned about Mahavir Phogat's passion, convinced by his innocence and moved by his determination. At times you feel like this guy should be given a reality check and woken up from his dream. But you still understand it is such mad tunnelled approach and focus is the demand of excellence and it becomes aspirational. Well forcing any child against their will is a grave mistake and the lead actor here himself said the very thing in one of his admirable classic film, 3 Idiots, but all that does not go in vein here. There is that mother character who stands as an opposition for this very thought and looks to throw some sense into the man. Still his plea to let him do his thing for an year makes sense as he is not thinking about individual glory and fighting against the odds and norms of the society for his girls.

The whole point of filmmaking is not about showing off some craft but to recreate or create the world that certain characters live in and make it as believable as possible to suck in the complete strangers. Well that is in the craft, isn't it? How believable it would it be for an overweight , ageing person to win against a National Champion? How believable it would be for a girl who lacks in agility and temperament to win the wrestling competition against a boy? Yes, these sort of questions needs believable answers for suspension of disbelief and filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari understands them. In his attempt he doesn't just come close to reality but he challenges you to dare to prove him lacking. The score for the film doesn't try hard to make you feel the artificial emotions but it genuinely lets you process the events unfolding in front of your eyes and leave it upto you how to feel about them. This is top notch filmmaking and hats off to the makers for letting it be that way.

In the film, you can easily point out to certain places and say use the bg score here, try to elevate him there, no no give importance to the drama less here. But when you think about it everything seems so perfectly woven that asking for heroic elevations and bg scores to guide you makes one question, "Are we too used to the gimmick-ery?" Why do you need them when script doesn't require? When the point is being conveyed effectively even without them? Yet, the drama at times feels like a forced one and you're being pushed to the third eye perspective rather than being invited to be at the fore front of the action. This might appear to be nit-picky and an obscure demand but where you find it lacking there you find it lacking. Perfection is a desirable quality and when you've a maker chasing it you want them to chase it till the moon rather than stoping at stratosphere.

Aamir Khan has been brilliant before too and his body transformation needs accolades but Dangal belongs to young Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar. Yes, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra did the best too, but if you remove the young kids out of the equation, then the believability factor and connection to the core story would have been missing. Especially, Zaira doesn't let you take your eyes off her. She in her own way manages to snatch your eye from the adorable Sakshi Tanwar and menacing Aamir, in character. The entire song sequence, Dhaakad, is the best example of her charming work and dedication. Fatima Sana Sheikh too carries the baton to the finish line with aplomb sincerity and ease. Through out the wrestling sequences you feel like watching a pro-wrestle competition and the hard work that went into achieving it is highly motivational and inspiring.

Camerawork, Production Design, Editing, Music and Stunt Choreography everything worked in beautiful rhythm here. At no instance you can question their integrity or effort here. If there is anything that one feels there was slight slip is in writing. The set up works brilliantly but the pay off becomes too heavily filmsy departing from the original incidents. The idea of a biopic for me is to recreate the factual history with some dramatic effect but tampering with it too much does leave a little sour taste. All-in-all this is one film that demands you to watch it in theatres and try to make time to not miss the experience. I conclude by saying, as the title track suggests,

"Wrestle the odds and rise triumphant!"

My Views/ Observations ::Befikre - Plastic Glory - My view!

Befikre - Plastic Glory!!

When you watch a movie you expect few things looking at the past and hoping for a pleasant present. While walking into an Adi Chopra film, one would expect the director of romantic movies like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Mohabbatein and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi to deliver if not a classic like DDLJ, at least a decent film with strong romance. Here the director falters big time with wafer thin plot line trying to make it edgy racy and new age.

Imtiaz Ali is a one of kind maker in India. His thoughts and scripting abilities are entirely on a different pedestal and he doesn't make a glaring mistake like casting two actors who after a point seem to repeat their actions and do nothing but look PLASTIC. In one word, you can describe Befikre as the depiction of Plastic emotions felt more plastically with an elastic screenplay that keeps on dragging for a bit and then some more, finally, delivering one big elastic fist pump that slaps you hard for walking into the theatre even after looking at the trailer.

There is no story here to talk about. You either are in or completely out when you watch a rondom. Boy and girl meet somewhere, then decide to not pursue further but somehow fall for each other and then act upon their heart's calling in the very end. This is the same story of Shyra and Dharam here. Nothing new and nothing burning the screen as well. Even DDLJ wasn't a new story but the pair of SRK - Kajol was what made up of Fairy Dust while "Next SRK" (said by his director - mentor) Ranveer and his Pair Vaani Kapoor looks like Dust in comparison.

Many a times, I had to say to myself I am watching a woman and man story not man and man. Well look at Vaani and come back, will wait for your comments. It is just absurdly hilarious to see her going her the knife and sporting a six pack. I have no problem with woman having a body, but face is the most important thing of your body and for any reason if you spoil it, how can one support you? It just doesn't make any sense at all to watch her as a French-Indian. She is undoubtedly good dancer, unabashed in showing off pantyless crotch while dancing and can deliver a good dialogue, but it is her chemistry with fellow actor, Ranveer, that scars you and scares you to scream. Ranveer here is just there to show off his butt and make se "Stand -Up" jokes that wouldn't even be accepted at open mic nights as fillers. But he has a working gig at his Friend's Indian Bar.

The absurdity in script writing and trying to follow something today, indulging into the "Today" techniques that were popularised by makers like Mark Webb in 500 Days of Summer, just give you an example of how original Aditya was thinking while writing this script. Nothing absolutely, nothing makes sense while every cliche in the book has been employed to make you connect. Either you be an original or be a follow-up, you can't be both at a time.

Trying to induce comedy into the proceedings, along with raunchy Befikarapan, Adi looses the plot and even wastes melodies given by Vishal - Sekhar. In any other minisculely impressive film, the soundtrack would have been a sensation. Camera and Production Design are the next best things of this humungously borefest and one needs time travel machine to go to young Adi and tell him, do not make DDLJ or even Mohabbatein, because a 90's kid like me can never digest such an amateurish attempt at love, relationships and humour from the Masters.

If you still can't believe just watch the ending wedding scene, a pock at trying British dark humour which we adorably call slap-stick and I will wait for you to make your comment. Well, if you still want me to tell a final word about the movie, then Befikre is a PLASTIC Glory with substance that could have worked provided director, actors, editors and everyone involved were more creative than Befikre - carefree in their approach.

Dear Zindagi - Past - Present - Future!

I always write my views as Observations as I do not really want to impose myself on viewers of a film with my ramblings. Not that I can but this is just a humble way to remind you that whatever you read here is the Blog runners opinion but not something written on wall and you should take it with a pinch of salt.

I am a fan of good cinema. For every film I enter the theatre with a belief that this film will be the greatest I am ever going to watch. Even the trailers may suggest otherwise, I do not really judge the book by its cover rather I wait to peel the content, embrace the feel a maker wants to deliver and then form my opinion about it. A story being said in silences and conversations, that is Dear Zindagi for you in a nutshell.

It is not trying to be overly smart, not trying to make you like its characters by hook or crook. It just keeps flowing on screen asking you to embrace the life unfolding in front of you. Yes, you feel like really watching a girl named Kaira, whose aspirations, problems, issues feel real rather than filmy. They are not suddenly surfacing but the person looks to address only after knowing that a doctor can diagnose you without trying to judge you under what category you fall into and prescribe medicines accordingly. In mental health issues, how can you generalize?

The movie is a beautiful conversation that you're happy to hear, pleased to know and wish to be a part off. Well, there is superficiality in some areas, but those flaws are muscled away slowly by a sucker punch that hits you real hard yet at a slower pace. That sort of punches stay with you all along. Aliaa Bhatt breathes like Kaira, twists like her and becomes her by the end of the film. You start seeing her sabotaging her blossoming relationship and career yet to feel the right decision made by her by observing her behavioural change after Shah Rukh's understatedly brilliant Jehangir Khan, Jug peels the layers with his eyes and words.

Shah Rukh Khan here is not trying to be preachy doctor or a frustrated lover, but he is a soft-spoken killer here. He is friendly yet delivers the deadly blows in the form of questions. He cracks jokes, encourages them to be bettered but never tells you what you should do rather subtlely hints at the other way around for a situation. The possibility of understanding someone from their point of view and as just another person like us. This kind of therapists, if they exist, they should be given nobles and other highest prizes available.

Having said all that, as a film Dear Zindagi does suffer from pacing and two wrong casting choices. When you feel like watching more about Jug and Kaira dynamic grow, as a patient doctor and friends, you are forced to visit a musician. That might have lend to a beautiful realisation but still it feels like the hard seed that you had to swallow while eating a soft and delicious strawberry cake. Barring its flaws, Dear Zindagi is a film that you should watch where ever and whenever you can!

First Word: There are many movies in Telugu that showcase talent of the makers, actors and the writers, individually and collectively. The films that have collective excellence almost always end up being classics.. Here are some of those, to be precise 15, of those classics, where everything fell into place and any movie fan or telugu film lover should watch before they die.

Seetha Kalyanam:

Seetha Kalyanam was directed by artistic and creative director, Bapu, many moons ago. The film majorly has excellence in visual effects created by Ishan Arya, using the techniques available those times. The film is a part of course work at the British Film Institute. Director Bapu himself took some classes about the movie.

Geetanjali:

Nagarjuna and Mani Ratnam's Geethanjali is a classic love tale, and an innovative film for it's theme and visual story telling. The train scene between Nag and Girija is still popular and spoofed in many love films lately. P C Sreeram's camera work and Ilayaraaja's songs are not to miss.

Akali Rajyam:

This 1981 film, featuring Kamal Hasan, Sridevi as leads has been directed by modern film guru, K. BALACHANDER. The film created huge sensation with it's absurd theme of three jobless youngsters trying to find their feet in Delhi. The usage of Sri Sri poems in this film is meticulous and music by M. S. Viswanath is melodious and soothing..

Swathi Muthyam:

Second Kamal Hasan film of the list. This K Vishwanath directorial was a film that explored the story of a mentally disabled person. The journey of his life was meticulously documented by the team. The performances of each and every actor are noteworthy.

Seetharamayyagari Manavaralu:

This film was a breadth of fresh air for all the movie lovers of early 90's who were constantly bombarded with action entertainers one after the other. This Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Meena starrer proved that a story with basic human emotions can capture the box office with ease. MM Keeravani's music is one not to be missed.

Annamayya:

Everyone were surprised by the decision of Nagarjuna and K Raghavendra Rao, to make a film on divine composer, Annamayya. The end result of the film was something no one ever expected. The climax of the film is still one of the best in telugu film history!

Mahamantri Timmarasu :

Kamalakara Kameshwara Rao made many historical and mythological films, but the way he established the friendship within the world of cruel politricks, between a King, Sri Krishna Devaraya and his minister as well as Guru, Timmarasu, is spellbinding. Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao and Gummadi Venkateshwara Rao, proved their worth in gold in their respective roles. This one should not be missed for it's screenplay and camera work as well.

Rojulu Marayi:

This 1951 film, starring, Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Legendary Comedian Relangi Venkateshwara Rao, as protagonist and antagonist, respectively, is a classic example of a farmer revolution, against Zamindari system. It advocates the idea of democracy and propagates the popular saying, 'Live and Let Live'

Pedda Manushulu:

Legendary director, K.V. Reddy was always known for his prowess in mythological and historical films. But he is a complete director who made few but effective social films too. His, Pedda Manushulu was a highly successful satire on the government system and people who are looked upon in the society with high esteem. The satire is relevant for even today!

Sampoorna Ramayanam:

Director Bapu's love for 'Ramayanam' was very well translated on screen, in this film. Going against the conventions, the film featured Sobhan Babu as Rama, which was patented in Telugu cinema by legendary NTR. Film got many accolades and till date is best of the films featuring Rama's story.

Lava Kusa:

This film was a sensation when it's released in 1964 and still remains to be favourite among the old generation for divine watching on a 'holi' day! NTR as Rama and Anjali Devi as Sita, just lived their roles and Ghantasala songs are still played in many temples.

Devadasu:

This 1953, adaptation of famous Bengali, Sarath babu's novel, is regarded has the best amongst all the adaptations. The songs written by Malladi Ramakrishna Sastry gave a depth to Devadasu's pain and ANR's performance just brought the looser lover's agony to the front admirably.

Paathala Bhairavi:

The story of this film, where fiction, social class differences merge very well, became timeless and even today, is a success formula for many films. The comedy, acting, direction, screenplay and dialogues are the movie are still regarded best fit to these kind of films. NTR, SVR became overnight stars with this film and K.V. REDDY proved himself to be a classical director.

Malliswari:

A classic telugu love story directed by B N. Reddy is one, you cannot miss if you love films. The screenplay, chemistry between the lead pair, NTR- Bhanumathi and music by S. Rajeswara Rao, are still talked about. The pain and the agony of the two estranged lovers was brought beautifully on the screen.

MayaBazaar:

This film is a classic example of each and every element in the filmmaking falling into it's place. Huge Cast of the film, ANR, NTR, SAVITRI, GUMMADI and SVR with many others, gave memorable performances and entertained the audience to the fullest. The camera work by Marcus Bartley, Art Direction by Gokhale, Music by Ghantasala, Writing of Pingali Nagendra and Direction by K.V. Reddy everything everything fell into place and created a timeless classic.

Note: There are many more films that could be classified as classics but these 15 films have braved the test of the time and even today they remain enjoyable. Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice Movie Review/ Observation

Superman and Batman are the two most iconic superheroes of the comic world. If one is an alien with 'godly' powers then the other is a human detective, who happens to develope smartest weapons on the planet. If one can destroy the entire planet in a second the other pledged his last breadth to save the mankind. If one is a combatant with no fear the other uses fear and disguise, with the help of darkness. Even though human is no match for the alien, he can still find a way to stop him. So, who will win in this battle?

Basic Plot:

Aftermath the incidents of the movie, Man of Steel, where Superman fights with a legion of army from Krypton and finally twists the head of General Zod, humans are divided into two groups. One, who worships the alien, SuperMan, as God while the other, most importantly, a Senator, wants him to be prosecuted for the various demolitions of public property, casualties and deaths of closed ones. Lex Luthor due to his eversion towards God and meta-humans, fuels the rage of The Dark Knight, who became a silent spectator for all the unfortunate incidents, thus starting the greatest gladiator match ever, "Day vs Knight"! Who won in this battle? How did Wonder Woman fit into this battle of two powerful men? Will there be a Dawn of Justice League as suggested in the title? Forms the rest of the plot.

About the Performances:

Henry Cevil has Superman just continued his Man of Steel act, neither improving nor innovating further on it. Ben Affleck became a point of interest for many Batman fans, has he was the new choice to play the Dark Night. He brought out the grimness of the character pretty well and was good enough in his fights. His version of Batman cannot be called the best ever but a worthy follow up for Christian Bale's version. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman is the high light of this mish mash of a movie. The scenes in which she was a part of and the fight, were spectacular. Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor just hammed his way to the abyss of razzie glory. Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Diane Lane as Martha were just there.

Technical points:

Cinematography by Larry Fong was top notch. Back Ground Score from Hans Zimmer and Junkie Xl was mediocre at best. They could not offer any addition to the on-going visual proceedings.

Writers, Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer seemed to have taken it upon them to please each and every studio executive. While they were at it, their story which should have been a great set-up ended up being a fan fiction at best. In comics, any character can be introduced at given point of time, and then with the acceptance of the comic readers, can emerge as a separate standalone series.

But in a film, a character does need to have a strong motivation and some introduction. Wonder Woman really leaves us wondering about her presence in this movie. She was hardly set up at all before she was thrown in front of a super villain. The third act of the movie, seemed to have been extended from the said plot to please the studio's ambitions. The basics of screenwriting, does highlight a point, "Make sure you villain is more menacing than your hero", here the writers just left that to the imagination of the viewer.

Every epic battle, needs an even bigger set up and they used all their screen-time in revisiting and re-establishing, Batman whose "Dark Knight" version is still fresh in audiences' memory. Rather they should have re-visited their script to suite the inclusion of Wonder Woman. All in all they provided a disservice to all the fans of the superheroes with their 'blockbuster' script!

Zack Snyder, the director of 300, needs to concentrate on story rather than forcefully trying to push a Visual effects extravaganza down the viewer's throat. Some of the action scenes were more ridiculous as they proved to be rib tickling on contrary to jaw-dropping. Fan awaited moments like the fist fight between two superheroes and then the three team taking on a deadly super-villain were utterly disappointing. Eye catching visuals cannot supplement for the lack of strong emotional connect with the characters.

Analysis:

DC Comics had been desperately trying to stay afloat in the game, that was mastered by Marvel since quite some time. The problem for DC lies in choosing the perfect launch pad. They struck gold with Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, but the same grim take on Superman's origins did not help them one bit in Man of Steel. However exciting the premise sounds on paper, balancing two iconic Superhero characters, and building a firm set up for the Justice League, once again pushed them firmly into the abyss, just like their previous film.

Lastly:

On the whole, Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice, proves the popular saying, "Too many cooks spoil the dish", very effectively. Or in this case, "Too much of the lazy writing spoils the movie"! You can give this movie a try if you want to kill sometime on a weekend. Otherwise, watching it on TV could help you jump to those worthy moments, however few. Definitely, you should avoid this movie if you are a fan of any SuperHero.

Basic Plot:

No family is perfect, but in a memory they pass on like a photography they could all look like a tight-nit one, happy and contend. Any elder member of the family would wish this kind of a memory to be passed on to his/her future generations.

Likewise, Dadu(Rishi Kapoor), who wants to attract attention towards him keeps playacting like he died on spot many-a-times in front of his son, Harsh Kapoor (Rajat Kapoor) and daughter-in-law, Sunitha Kapoor (Ratna Pathak Shah). One day he really falls prey for heart attack and the younger brigade of the family, Arjun (Siddharth Malhotra) and Rahul (Fawad Khan), are quickly summoned for their presence from their respective countries. Since their arrival, the problems between the different family members are revealed and Dadu expresses his wish to have a happy photography with all his family members. Does his wish come true? Can these family members iron out their problems? forms the rest of the plot.

About the Performances:

Rishi Kapoor as Dadu was in great form and his performance was more heartfelt than ever. Rajat Kapoor and Ratna Pathak Shah had a great chemistry and complemented each quite well .. Siddharth Malhotra didn't have the required maturity to carry the role beyond his usual expressions, did not damage the movie though. Fawad Khan was a true surprise package with his pin point accuracy in projecting the character of Arjun on screen. He understood the complexities of the character pretty well and made it his own. Alia Bhatt performed very well within the given opportunity. Every other actor in the movie lived upto the promise of the movie.

Technical Points:

After Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, Shakun Batra seems to have gone back to some more writing classes, as he was able to show his maturity through out the script and even handled the film quite brilliantly. His tight screenplay brought out the required distinction to the story and made the proceedings feel like a movie rather than a tele-film. The exotic hilly location of Ooty proved to be a pinnacle in the set up of the movie.

Music by several composers enhanced the feel of the scene and never looked a road block in a smooth ride. Back Ground score by Sameer Uddin should be given a special nod. Nothing extravagant yet beautifully in sync with the proceedings.

Cinematographer Jeffery F. Bierman should be rewarded big for his work. His frames were never dull and the toughest of the sequences were shot even more brilliantly. These kind of films need for an audience member, to feel he or she is in the middle of the fights, laughs and his achieves it with great finesse. Editing by Shivkumar V. Panicker was apt to the scene's demands.

Make up team should be praised for their effort, especially the prosthetics team who developed Rishi Kapoor's look in the film.

Analysis:

Dysfunctional or highly pretentious, families do try to project themselves as a close nit group of individuals rather than exhibiting their bitterness publicly. This human tendency was projected really well in the movie. There comes a point where reality seeps in and hits hard on the faces of these characters. The maturity in the writing and flawless performances from the seniors, especially, makes this movie a definite watch.

Lastly:

Do not miss this movie in a theatre near you. This Kapoors Family could be one of neighbours, known people, relatives or even us. They are well worthy of your time and money!

My Tributes:: 25 years for a Timeless Classic - Thalapathy

Rajnikanth, the small time bus conductor became an actor Rajni and then star Rajni and then Thalaivar Rajnikanth. In his journey, there were many milestones that helped him reach the pinnacle and stay on top even after so many years. If Basha is one iconic film of his long illustrated career, then Thalapathy in Tamil and Dalapathy in Telugu was a similarly important film in early 90's that took his craze much above any other southern star and put him altogether.

Arrival of Mani Ratnam did not just change the making style in India it also changed the audience outlook towards the greats like Kamal Haasan and Rajnikanth. He gave many memorable films to actors like Nagarjuna, Prabhu, Karthik, Shah Rukh Khan, introduced Aravind Swamy, Madhavan to screen and gave big hits to Abhishek Bachchan. Mani Ratnam changed the story telling style in South especially, from a dialogue bound style to visual based style.

In his growth, he also gave milestone films to these already established greats as well. Nayagan for Kamal Haasan and Thalapathy for Rajnikanth. If Velu Nayakan from Nayakan was a protagonist from an antagonist background then Surya from Thalapathy was an antagonist with protagonist traits. Velu was forced by the government officials and his economic status to revolt against the system and form a league of his own. While Surya had been guided by the angst that his mother threw him out in a train as a baby to suffer and find his own living. He develops a hatred towards rich but he has ultimate gratitude towards those who stood by him and nurtured him as one among them.

He is ready to anything for the person who even shows a slightest care for him. He kills a guy because he threatened his basti people and befriends the head of a mafia gang, Devaraj for bringing him out of jail, even if the guy who died belonged to his gang. In his world, gratitude rules the roost and he hates if someone points out his caste and economic status. A girl who loves him, has to leave him because he doesn't belong to her caste and her father threatens to kill himself. In that particular scene, Mani doesn't allow his protagonist to heroicly sacrifice but brings out his angst completely to the fore and when the character realises that the girl is married by none other than his step brother, the awkwardness of the situation is brought out in the same matured way too.

In the scenes, where the husband of the mother of Surya, who realises the relationship between the estranged mother and son, keeps pushing for them to meet, directors deep understanding of the emotions is brought out. The complexity of the emotions and the greatness of his character are brought out to our notice just by nuances but not through heavy dramatic drum rolls. The tears do play big part but they never seem fake. The friendship tale is definitely inspired from Duryodhan and Karna story but the modern Devaraj and Surya, never ever try to be those mythological legends but become a more believable and everyday characters that any audience member can connect to.

As a director, Mani Ratnam chose two thriving superstars from two languages Mammotty and Rajnikanth but never did he let their images take over the characters he wanted them to portray. The mastery of Santhosh Sivan with Camera and Maestro Ilaiyaraja helped him big time to achieve the quality he wanted with the visuals and supporting back ground score. The songs like Sundari, Singarala pairullo na are still famous today too. Singarala song especially brought two living legends of music on one platform, Yesudas and SP Balasubrayam. The song became a friendship anthem and a holi song too.

Banupriya, Sri Vidya, Aravind Swamy, Shobana, Amrish Puri, Geetha, Jaishankar, Nagesh, Charuhasan, Nirmalamma lend their acting talent to the movie in a big way. Right from the opening train sequence to just showing the kid raised by an old woman into her arms with sun in the background. The film is laced with symbolism and greatness. May be not regraded as the best like Nayakan but this movie deserves its place among the best movies ever made by Indian filmmakers for sure. Editing by Suresh urs and art by Thota Tharani for the film are in their own league. Taking the cues from the maestro himself, lets dwell into the best cinematic experience and celebrate singing, Singarala screenullona bangarale aadenanta chudali..

Marvel's Doctor Strange - Review/Observation

When all hell breaks bad and you are none but a commoner being who can only defend someone in their sleep with dream filled subconscious playing out the weirdest possible scenarios and triumph, you need some of those dreams to come into existence in real life. You want Superheroes, our mind constantly finds them in film heroes, army men, a crazy lunatic, comic books and so on. In the case of comic books we are engaged to the idea of their existence right from a very young age giving into their superpowers and thinking that saving world from earthly dangers is all bite a miniscule accomplishment so we need aliens who contact, surreal realms that are posing threat to our existence. Well, there you go with a cloak flying from one place to another and creating portals to mystic dimensions laced in pure magic and complex scientific equations. Let the Strange emotional dimension begin...

There is no denying that we watch film for the purposes of entertainment and relaxation after a busy day at work. We want to meet that young man still hiding somewhere in our hearts to rejoice his or her childhood memory as a reality on screen with the superhero movies. But at times the brain of a matured adult starts wondering how familiar is this film with the other one I watched yesterday. It keeps wondering does this movie holds any bearings to make me feel worthy consumer for this studio product. Well some days you are in luck while the other days you may not be.

The resurgence of comic book superheroes after some lazily written and executed movies is quite a welcome change, but the beaten to death formula does need a drastic change with immediate effect. The man who presented the classic formula for the superhero genre, Christopher Nolan, with Batman Begins, even he has grown past it. Yeah, I do know that he is longer making superhero movies but can you say, Cobb and Cooper are no superheroes??

When Doctor Strange was announced, being from Eastern side of the spectrum and belonging to the other side of the globe, I did not know who the man was. All I knew were three chaps, Batman, Superman and Spiderman. All others were new to my eyes and thanks to Marvel Cinematic Universe, I was able to connect with Captain America, even though not belonged to his country and the Avengers. For me the films and their quality was the drawing point not the weird youngster who wanted cloaks. My younger days were dominated by mythological arrows and mystical demons rather than these realms and dimensions. Slowly, but surely, I started taking interest in the characters that Marvel is throwing at me bit by bit. After getting a breathing space from Avengers2.5, Captain America Civil War, I decided to read about the Strangest Doctor and found his act of magic and capability to alter future, past and present quite interesting. Even the TV shows are now laced with superheroes and DC's Flash came to my aid in understanding how the rules are decided by a writer with imagination but not by nature in general.

Suspension of disbelief, became a centrifugal point towards my growing liking to the franchises. But Doctor Strange in live action kinda busted my bubble. The man who thought his geeky side needs to dial down and grew wedges with his younger soul is slowly but certainly threatening to return. Poor young bastard.

The film in the sense had imagination, but lacked a powerful script and character depth to satisfy this slightly older soul fighting everyday chores. While it seemed to beliveably easy for someone to find an instructor like Ancient One, yet it felt forced when Benedict Cumberbatch exclaimed in pain, I spent my last dollar for this!!

You see origin stories are not easy to state but they don't need to be so dumb either. You want to connect with the witty personality, feel like you can be that person, in fact you are that arrogant man and then fall prey for that. Rather, if I am subjected to be a distant 3rd eye wondering about the dimensions and realms that look highly inspired by mind binding visuals of Inception and Matrix. How much can I connect? Writer-Director Scott Derrikson does leave an impression with his visuals in 3D IMAX glory but leaves you to the shallows of numbness with flat narration even though he had a cloak of levitation for his aid and even Eye of Agamore.

Tilda Swin(ging)ton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelson, Benedict Wong does support the ever charming Benedict Cumberbatch but they are not so powerful to overpower the timeloop of origins that conquered Dormamu but silently took Doctor Strange into it an even bigger origin one. A cool one time watch for all age groups but these origins need to find a clever introduction like that of beloved neighbourhood hero Spiderman in his homecoming in Civil War!

Sri Harsha woke up in a place like dreamy setting. He saw that there is all alone today. He is looking around as the place looks to be hanging in air with waterfalls right beside and he is able walk on the water that is flowing below him. It took him 3 attempts to understand that he can do that. He also tried to call someone but he is unable remember any names. He wants help, guidance and he is desperately in need of water. He realised that he is actually walking on water, so he drank some. Suddenly all the water and waterfalls disappeared and the wall like structure in front of him opened as a door and heis able to walk into a more today looking dinning room. To his surprise, the dinning table is very long but there are only two seats. He is feeling hungry so he started walking but to his ultimate shock, he is walking on clouds. A young woman, looking divine walked into the room dressed all modern yet classy with very few ornaments with his very favorite dish, Strawberry Cake.

Sri and Chandana are sitting opposite to each other. She always prefers this cafe to many other places, she always orders the same pastry for boyh of them. She also orders her favorite coffee which is available only there and nowhere else. He is enjoying her taking a bite of the pastry and sipping coffee along with it. It is weird but he likes to smile at her weirdness. The cafe is a crowded mess during the weekends but comparatively a place where you can meditate during the weekdays. Not many come to the place during the weekdays and whenever Chandana calls him, he meets her there. Today ...

Chandana: (coughing as usual on coffee after the bite of the pastry) I can't help but think I am madly in love with someone. Or Someone is indeed loving me and thinking about me all the time.

Sri: (lost in her beauty) May be there is someone!

Chandana looks at him expectantly.

Sri: (Continuing) .. There are your parents, close friends and many others who could think about you.

Chandana disappointed completes her snack and their conversation moves toward some other topics but Chandana clearly is not invested anymore. She paid the bill even though Sri insisted. She asked him to hop on her bike and drove as slow as she can. Harsha felt a bit irritated with her speed and asked her for the handle but she even slowed the speed of the bike. When he threw his hands into the air, she suddenly increased the speed giving him a jerk. And he fell on her with lot of force. Her scent, her silken hair, her perfectly kissable neckline drove him crazy. This close proximity with her is killing him. He is all in the moment and wanted to kiss her right then. But changed his intention and controlled himself.

His parents arranged for a girl to meet him at the cafe. He agreed immediately without thinking much. Even though he looked unhappy he is going through the motions. There it is Swapna. She walked into the cafe in a designer white suite with black purse complimenting her style. The jewellery she wore was also perfect to the tee. She had a mesmerising smile and carried an aura while she walked. Clearly, she can charm any person and it is like a goddess of beauty sitting in front of him. He is clearly taken away by her beauty but his heart is not accepting her into his life. It is hard to even for a average looking like him to imagine such a girl as his wife. But here he is having a conversation about their interests and future, if their parents find it is a perfect match. This is just a formal introductory meeting for both of them to get acquainted but their wishes have no such importance. Girl seems to have accepted it, but our boy is feeling some struggle between his heart and mind.

Swapna: (looking at the menu) low fat and healthy, I believe we are at the wrong place for such a choice. It would have been nice if you liked some Italian or French restaurant.

The environment suddenly changed in front of his eyes. The surroundings changed into a closet and the temperature is severely hot. He is wearing warmers and sweating like hell. His age is now around 48 and he is sitting with an older looking Swapna who lost all her elegance and glamour. She looked like a hell princess.

Swapna: (irritated and agitated) Look at me now! After two kids I said let's stop but your mom wanted a girl and see now, how I look. I maintained a clear figure until I met you. Why do you even like this heavy crabs place? Today is our marriage day and you don't even think about taking me out on a holiday. But you have all the money in the world to spend on your parents and children. Am I a child bearing machine for you? Don't I deserve a simple vacation with my husband? Why do I feel like this is just an arrangement an hoax of a marriage? Why can't you make me feel relaxed and loved?

Sri Harsha is not even in a position to answer, the closet around both of them has squashed even further and he is feeling breathless. His face is covered with sweat and when he tried to get a kerchief from his pocket, there is a big bump in the place of his stomach. He is unable to believe that he has grown such out of shape. No wonder she hates him so much. Yet, she sounds genuine in her love towards him. She came to this place since, she likes him and echoes all her frustration on him, since she needs some love and importance. But what's happening to him? Why is he unable to give her answer? By the way, why is she crying? How come there are his finger marks on her cheeks? And who is that abusive idiot, shouting swears? Why the voice sounds like his? Is it him? How come?

Dinner in the clouds ended with her choking on coffee again. This time his hands, gave her support. He sat beside her and she liked his touch. They both came even closer and he fed her the last piece of cake with all love and tenderness. She smiled at him romantically. He with all his heart danced with her as their favorite songs started playing. It was like they are on a paradise. They enjoyed the evening and the night like there is no tomorrow. No one wanted to leave each other's side. But suddenly all his dreamy land started collapsing and he is in the closet with Swapna relentlessly crying in front of him. He is holding a glass of branded whiskey and she is fearing him. Crawling away from she is terrified by his presence in the room. His elder boy is looking at him with anger and all his other children also hate him. Their faces say the story. But he is not liking it, somehow he is still bounded in the closet, even though his insides are shouting at the top of their voice that he is wrong but his outside demeanour is different.

Finally, the closet has even grown narrow and as a old person one of his kid has thrown him out in a room. He has no one to talk to and his wife is happily dead. One woman walked into his room and threw a plate of food at him. It is smelling like hell. He cannot eat that in fact no one deserves to eat that. "Please kill me!" his insides and even outsides are echoing the same, but no one cares for him. Absolutely no one...

The clock ticked 4:00 pm and Chandana walked into his room with red roses and she was happily surprised looking at him. He struggled to get up, as she came closer to him, he said,

Traveller of Destiny!!

The radio is playing “Ennodu nee Irundhal” from I, the movie. She was always a fan of Shankar and listens to those songs atleast 10-20 times in a day. I never understood Tamil myself. Learned English after many, even her, forced me too. I don’t know how much grammer errors I make, but please stay me. Wanted to share this story of mine with you and all.

I read this line or you might say a quote, as my English master used to say, somewhere,

“ Fate never seizes to amaze”

Never trusted anyone who said that but now I believe in the fate, destiny. I was a “Procurer”, who takes the female flesh sellers to seekers. I feel nothing is wrong which feeds you. May be I was wrong in my thinking. But my stomach never questioned me wrong or right, it just said go get it. There as one of my flesh seller, I met Rasiga Srrenivasan.

She used to stay in a apartment for rent and at night, she came with me to the seekers’ house. After their session, I used to drop her back in her house. She used to be silent and friendly with neighbours and never did she let anyone know about what she did.

One day, she called me out of blue, which was always banned, as we get a address and I whatsapp her and she gives me route to how to pick her up. In the morning time she called me and, “ Enna raasa enna pandre.. nee koral la oru magic irrukku da pesu .. oru thadava naan unnai kadhalikkarein .. ana nee oru maaru kooda sollala naa naa unna konnuduvein” now I understand, “What are you doing my king, your voice is good, tell me you love me, if you don’t tell me once also I will killed you”

During, that time being someone from hindi background, did not understand her words, without speaking anymore, I cut the call. She whatsapped me two laughs and two kisses and a heart. I understood nothing. Then, a girl named Bindu, entered my house. She somehow found out my home and all she wanted is to escape the business and find a new life. For that she choose me to take her away and start living as my wife. I rudely sent her away.

One Night, I feel heat on my shoulder. Rasi put her head on my shoulder while driving back to her home. In the mirror, I pushed it here and there to see her in it, I saw her. She was crying but in a way she was happy to be with me. I cannot really tell you how I feel today, remembering it, even. Her phone ringing, tune, “uyire uyire ennai unnodu kalandi vidu”

I know it was a sad song. She always hears happy tunes and songs. I feel she was sad. Her people got to know what she was doing and they cut her off family. That call came from her sister to scold her. She switch off the phone and caught me tightly around my waist and slept. Her face I cannot forget that today too. I with my one hand touched her cheeks soft, and rubbed the tears. I never did like that. I don’t know why I did.

Next day, I went near her house, from the window side, I signaled her to come with me. She aksed, “ Odipollamaa” “ Run away from here” .. I did not understand but kept calling her, she kept saying so many things in her language, and I was just scratching head and looking at her. She laughed and seeing her laugh I was lost in her smile beauty. That night, when we were going, mirror showed her laughing beautiful and I stopped the bike and leaving it on road, hugged her tight. She also did same. Suddenly, she left me and started crying. I did not understand. I again hugged her. She pushed me away. She pushed me away like that number of times. She moved away I stopped her and stopped her. She went and try to lift the bike. I said, “Odipollama”, after I said that three times, she cried endless like that all night. She forced me to take her to the seeker. But I dropped her at her home. She hit me forcing and scolded something in her language and went into her house.

Next morning, I went to Bindu’s house and took her to the railway station. My employer knowed this somehow and he sent some of his people for me. I carefully dropped Bindu and made her sit in a train. She asked me to come with her, I did not. Thanking god, people did not see her train, else she captiured immediately. I ran from them all the time till 7 days and then when I met Rasiga in her house. She came running to me and started hitting me. She was told the things that I ran away with Bindu. Me back with her, she was happy and also angry. Somehow, I with her ran away to a village and we started living. She worked at a factory closer to our house and I bought a auto with the money I thiefed from my owner. We married at my mothers’ dead body living place, before we entered the village. Few months gone, I got money to buy a car taxi.

As the destiny not in our hands, she wanted to have children, but she cannot. This made her sad day by day. She stopped going to factory. One day, she said leave me and go to Bindu. Have children. I scolded her and she became upset. She stopped to eat and like that, we took to hospital try saving her still she took decision to kill herself. I also left everything and sat with her in the house of dead. Rasi think her life was gone once she took into the flesh trade. But she loved me and I loved her. It is enough I think, but she did not. I miss her everyday.

One day, my guru find me there, he helped me in making peace with the situation. Now I work towards finding the flesh sellers and I try to find a good job and house for them and their children. May be nothing wrong or nothing right. But forcing someone, trapping someone into this kind of life is not good. I wish my Rasi had her parents to be with her when she feel alone. Today, we lived happily every after.

Two hours since I woke up after a deep slumber .. sound sleep had been evading me for years and now I am able to attain it . In the sleep I was able to create a world brick by brick as he suggested and this world of my dreams and desires do look more than familiar. Here I am working with Newton on his theory and there I see Einstein writing his first idea of relativity. All this is because of my world which can jump through time. The answers that I seek are slowly becoming my reality I believe.. This new experience of meeting these people and creating new memories even though how false they would be I am happy with them!

Why did I even enter into this mess! How I wish I never met that menacing sage? My life with those memories was fine. I was ok with loosing everything but here I am loosing myself step by step, brick by brick all I built is just a mess of my imagination and nothing else. Please let me out. This world is so much more lonely without all my friends I created for myself. All my works I have ever done seem to accomplish nothing but eternally beautiful lonely world of pain but the joy I felt with all others is missing. How I wish I could talk to Raghu now? How wish I am still in touch with Sahasra?! All these false friendships with my thoughts in my world seem so meaningless and self centred! Wish I can snap my finger now and I am back to my reality the original me..

Basic Plot:

Can an obsession be good? Whatever form it takes can it make you an individual or will it just let you fall down even in your eyes? How much can you own a person? How lonely do you feel when the person you love doesn't reciprocate in the same manner? Doesn't being you yourself and then an admirer help you?? How thin is the line between a criminal obsession and an innocent admiration?!

Gaurav Chandana (Shah Rukh Khan) is a die-hard fan of Aryan Khanna ( Shah Rukh Khan). He imbibes him so much into his life that for him thinking about Aryan is equal to living and breathing through every second. His obsession has no bounds. He is best impersonator of the actor and he is his look-a-like too. One evening on Dussehra he wins a best fan competition and likes to share that with his star on his Birthday. The lack of an easy access to the star he loves so much hurts him. But his admiration towards the man leads him to hit another actor who wants to damage the image of Aryan Khanna for his own good. Aryan doesn't encourage this and he disowns Gaurav as his fan. What did hurt Gaurav do? How far his obsession to gain an apology from his favourite star took him to? How did the clash end? Watch the things unfold on-screen....

About the Performances:

Shah Rukh Khan the man who rocked the Nation with his villainous portrayal in the films like Darr, Baazigar and then with his honesty as Sunil, in Kabhi haan Kabhi Naa is back and how. He owned the film through out and delivered more than the script asked from him.

He just took the scene to the next level and covered all the loop holes in the logics with his strong performance as Gaurav Chandana and Aryan Khanna. His expressions as an obsessed fan who saw his favourite star for the first time in life will leave tears on all the fans who love their stars. The actor who became so scarce with the arrival of the 'star' in SRK has comeback with a vengeance. The level of emotions that he can portray even with heavy prosthetics and VFX covering his face is too phenomenal. Well he deserves all the awards this season.

All the other actors in the movie performed perfectly to the roles they were given and added to the authenticity of the film. It is Shah Rukh Khan's one man show and it remained a one man show for the whole part of it!

Technical Points:

Kudos to the director Maneesh Sharma for coming with such an idea and pushing the actor in the SuperStar who was long hibernating. He brought back the honesty that was missing from his lead actor’s earlier films and the writing aided him in his ambitious dream.

Habib Faisal is known for writing simple scripts and realism. His writing in Fan even though did go a bit over the top at few places he did manage to bring a ting of realism and believability to the proceedings with his dialogue and character sketch. He could have easily gone completely wrong and overboard with his imagination and possibility but he tried to remain as grounded as he can possibly be.

Director, the captain of the ship, Maneesh Sharma did extract a great performance from his lead actor, but he did loosen his grip on the proceedings towards the end of the story. He did provide a real environment for the characters to grow on the audience but he did have an issue when he had to balance the action sequences. At times he had to rely on the editors prowess to cover the glitches.

He did maintain a great sense of pacing and made the movie very very enjoyable. Editing by Namrata Rao is commendable. She was brilliant in not loosing the emotional core of the movie in accordance to keep it pacy. Towards the end though she could have done a better job.

Visual Effects and Make up team does deserve all the awards for their effort as they were successful in creating an authentic look -a like to the star and if for a second anybody could not recognise the actor and thought he was different then it's their mastery and actor's immense hard work.

Back Ground Score by Andrea Guerra deserves a special nod as he was successful in enhancing the feel the movie was going for. Cinematography by Manu Anand was top notch.

Analysis:

As a story or a plot line, Fan is very simple and it's message is highly predictable. But the entire team with the help of the lead actor, Shah Rukh Khan's power packed performance were able to deliver the message with an enjoyable experience. It takes immense self-belief and conviction to pull of a film like this and Shah Rukh Khan just proved again why he is called, 'King Khan'. Even though film does have issues, the over all impact created by the lead actor does make you overlook those minor glitches. It does have a serious tone and not made with the cliches that became so necessary in a Bollywood film.

Lastly:

This is a different film from the SuperStar, reassuring his fans and general audience, that he is still that actor they loved. Must watch for all the film lovers and also be very prepared for a high on content serious film. Gaurav does make sure that he will stay with you for a long time.

After 365 years …

Aaravind was going through all the belongings of Kousalya, It was already a week since she passed away. Aaravind going by his rules resisted the itch, to go through her stuff. But he couldn’t deny the urge any longer. He wanted to feel her scent, her touch. Well she never had any rules. She always used to barge into his privacy, why can’t he, then?

Her red-blue cotton silk saris, her younger photos, his younger age photos, articles about him in papers, her journals, songs he gifted her and various other gifts he gave her, all were stored very carefully in her safe. All had some connection with him in one-way or the other. Red and blue are his favorite colors, photos of her taken by him with their first ever camera he bought, like this all her dearest memories had his touch in them. Her unconditional submission towards him moved him to the core.

Many of her journals, are filled with memories of wonderful nights they spent together, the first time their children called him, ‘Nanna’(dad), her feelings towards him. She didn’t just love him she worshipped him.

His eyes are melting down drop by drop and this is something he never understood about her. Her displeasure about his obvious mechanic attitude in doing something she wished was evident. Her strong desire, to be equally worshipped by him was flowing through each and every word she had ever written. Aaravind couldn’t handle this any longer. His hands are shaking to pick another journal; his eyes are not relenting from overflowing; this is hell for him. He threw the journals away.

His blurry eyes caught a picture of Kousalya, smiling like an angel. He took her photo in his hands and wiped his tears until they stopped and

“Now I can see you clearly, you deserved a person much much better than me. Not in every thing but as a lover. You know how you made me feel today? You made me feel as a selfish, unworthy person who never deserved this intense admiration and devotion. What did I ever do to deserve you? I wish I could understand you better. I wish I had a chance to reciprocate the same devotion towards you.”

After a slight pause..

“You know what, I was never wrong. It was just that I … I … look what you did to me, my eyes don’t listen to me, my heart feels guilt, I hate you for this ..”

Holding her photo even closer to his heart,

“I hate you for this … ahhh … why couldn’t I understand you better? You don’t even have a slightest idea, how much I wish to bring back all the time that flew past us? “

He hugged her photo to closer embrace and slowly went into a deep sleep.

After 36 years 5 months …

A week passed by, lose of Venkat is still haunting the young couple. Ankur is devastated, his world has come to standstill. He is not his usual self. He is going out of his house. Many of the relatives, visited him and still are visiting him. No one is able to console him, sure everyone tried to cheer him but nothing is working. On the other Koyal’s state is nothing different. She locked herself up in her room all these days. Finally on the 8^th day, she broke out of her jail and landed straight in front of Ankur.

Ankur is no longer the same person. He is more robotic. He offered water to Koyal and hardly spoke to her. Koyal tried her best to talk to him but there is no response from the other side. He made a mess of the house. Koyal started cleaning around. Neither Ankur stopped her nor he seemed to care. He found a quite corner in the house and to Koyal’s dismay except for some wood noises nothing was indicating that there was a living human being there. Koyal felt that Ankur was dead inside. This was the same feeling she had gone through all week. Her feelings for Ankur, her desire to have a future with him, helped her to grow past her shock. May be Ankur needs time, if feels so much for Venkat’s loss within just short span of their interaction. How disserted Ankur should be feeling?

Koyal ran towards Ankur and gave him a tight hug. Ankur was a statue. He just stood there motionless while Koyal hugged him for … well time just passed by. Irritated and agitated by his lack of response towards her embrace, Koyal looked into his eyes questioning… She could feel nothing. Even though she understands his condition, Koyal could no longer see him like that.

She walked away from his house.

Later in the night, Koyal’s phone buzzed non-stop. She had no will to speak with anyone. Until few days back, she was planning her future with the man she loved, now everything has changed. Her dreams seem to have collapsed like ninepins. This change is ripping her heart out.

She heard a knock on her door, unwillingly she walked towards the door thinking that would be mother, and planning to send her away as she did all these days. She opened the door to find Ankur, her eyes couldn’t believe that he is standing right in front of her. Before she could say anything, she was pulled right into a tight embrace, tighter than she could ever imagine.

Ankur said,” I will never give up on you, never ever. Sorry, I should have been with you much earlier. Please never give up on me… please”

She responded to his plea by hugging him back even tighter.

Before …

“I know you wish for a different way, but as a King, I have to do this. People are already going through a lot, they don’t need a war now. They need peace. I know I haven’t done any wrong in choosing you, but my choice caused a lot of displeasure to my guru, VikramaBhupathi. He already announced me as a “traitor” in his nation and in his anger, he gave us an opportunity to save people from this behemoth. As an announced traitor of this land, Amarvathi, I no longer am supposed to rule Gandhamadana and your coronation, as Queen, makes our nation an independent according to the dharma of our land, irrespective of the result of this duel. May be I am a traitor, as I am cheating my guru, by luring him to this battle under the pretext of me still being a King, while I am not. I promise you, I will fight for US, I will win it for US. After this, we will no longer carry the weight of guilt on our shoulders,” saying these words to Queen Kumudini, Atharvaa started walking towards the ring from their seated positions.

Kumudini, is not satisfied with his answers. She understands him, but that doesn’t mean he could dump all his duties on her shoulder and walk away his merry way. She wants Atharvaa to win, and come back to her, love her, spend a life full of dreams with her. As a Queen, she cannot let her emotions take over her in the public. Even though she was frightened about the outcome, she put a brave face and ordered for a complete silence from her crowd with a small hand gesture.

In the ring, the duel is conducted between the two men at three levels. In the beginning, they have to present their cases in front of an idol, “Nayamurthy”(Justice), a stone form of Lord Shiva. Then in his presence, they will be asked questions regarding the ‘Dharma’ during the first round. Then they will be asked to engage in a sword fight, without hurting each other, in this round they test the true attitude of the accused and the plaintiff. Even though, an opportunity is present before him, to eliminate the other person, who among them can really manage his anger and urge to kill, is considered to be truthful in his intentions. Finally, both of them will have to walk on a path filled with thorns, to the idol. The person, who manages to finish the task first, is believed to have a verdict in his favor by ‘Nayamurthy’, and his wish will be honored.

As the crowds from both the nations cheered on from either side of the ring with their respective Queens, Kumudini and Alakananda, in the middle, Atharvaa and Bhupathi cleared their first round, convincingly. During the second round, Bhupathi under the influence of his uncontrollable rage, he damaged the armor of Atharvaa and injured him heavily, while he turned his back to him. This disappointed both his citizens and his daughter as well. With his heinous act, he proved to everyone in the arena, that he was indeed wrong in his claims and Atharvaa, even though defended himself capably, never attacked Bhupathi.

Everyone from Gandhamandana side, including Kumudini, rushed towards Atharvaa, but he stopped them in the middle and asked them to stay in their respective places. He gestured to Kumudini, to settle down with his eyes. Unwillingly, Kumudini sat on her throne. Atharvaa, threw his armor and started walking on,“Dharmayatra”, the path filled with thorns to the idol. Everyone in the arena, including, Amaravathi people and their representative, Queen, Alakananda cheered for Atharvaa. Bhupathi looked at his daughter and her displeasure with her father was evident in her eyes. The person for whose dream, he did all this, is now not his side but on his enemy’s side. This enraged him further and ran towards Atharvaa, and penetrated the knife, deep into his body. Atharvaa fell on top of the idol, thus completing his path to him and winning the duel. Bhupathi, got entangled to the thorns and was injured all over his body.

Kumudini came running towards Atharvaa, and many people from the crowds followed her. Conceding defeat, Alakananda, gave up her crown and walked away from the Arena. Few people bet Bhupathi to his death. Atharvaa was carried on many shoulders to a safe place and a doctor was ordered to nurse him immediately. Kumudini, became desperate with each passing moment.

Atharvaa came to his senses and …

“Kumudini, I apologize to you for everything. I wish I wasn’t a King but an artist, who could sing about your beauty, a common loving husband, who listens to every plea of yours’. I wish I had spent my time loving you more and more than whatever transpired in our lives. Hope Lord would give me a second chance to be worthy of your love”.

Atharvaa kept on apologizing to her, through out the time he was in his senses and slowly in a week, he succumbed to his injuries, leaving Kumudini yearning for his love.

After 3 years, 6 months and 5 days…

The Minister: “ Are the bride and groom are now ready to exchange their vows”

Koyal: “ Yes, as a common saying states, Ladies First! Ankur, since I met you I always a gravitating pull towards you. Like you were the other half of the DISSECTED, whole single piece that completes me. In these past three years we went through a lot and with time, our bond grew stronger and stronger than ever. Losing Venkat, was a disaster and I wish his presence in this gallery today. I hope to fulfill the void in your life, love and beloved by you equally till my last breadth!”

Koyal sobbed saying these words and it meant to her a lot. Ankur, wiped her tears and

“Koyal, you know I am no mark with words like you. I can only say this, loving you makes me feel alive and I hope to be more understanding and caring towards you. I will take care of your wishes and health, to the best of my ability.” (After a pause) “AT LAST, I feel contend having you beside me and I will never ever let go of this feeling”

Ankur and Koyal, exchange the rings and kiss to celebrate their UNION!

He continued, “ I know any Nation can only prosper when its’ people are happy and fearless. It is also true that a King’s word is considered as an entire Nation’s promise. My father, the great King of high hills, Amarpratap, gave a word to the people of Jaya that their princess will be my Queen. Had I not honored his word, the entire nation of Gandhamadana would have been guilty towards people of Jaya, for my actions. The peaceful union of these nations would have been forever ruined. Let this war, take our prosperity but it can never destroy our will. Let this war, leave us in the middle of nowhere, we will still survive this calamity and rise above in unity with all our strength.”

King Atharvaa’s speech made Mihira and Adityadeva very proud. The skeptical Prime Minister, Aditya, brought this council of wise men to Atharvaa, for them to convince him for finding a feasible solution for the immediate problem at the doorstep.

On contrary, Atharvaa, managed to convince them pro-war. His decision was not just emotional but a necessity. Jaya, as an island nation, possess a great counter attack route to defend any number of armies that come their way, the sea route. Not many nations, try to take on Jaya, for this very reason. In addition to this, Jaya also made a deal with Anga, the prosperous north territory, to help and secure them, in case of an invasion. Considering all these factors, the decision of King Atharvaa, looked strategically well placed. But the King Vikramaditya Bupathi, is not an easy man to give up. He will come up with a great counter strategy. Fearing, Anga’s well-positioned army, he used Atharvaa, as a weapon against Kumudini. Considering the change in the events, he would have already found a new strategy. What was it? How to counter it? These were the questions asked by many in the council.

King Atharvaa stood up from his throne and, “ By now, he would have already talked with ‘Singala’, the island nation, to counter our attack from Jaya waters. As far as, countering attack by Anga, he would plan to first capture me and wage war by land on our hills than harming any of the Jaya residents. Until and unless he harms, Jaya, Anga will not be obligated to attack him. My solution to this problem would be me requesting for a duel, with Vikramaditya Bhupathi that to be held in front of the citizens of both the nations and avoid invasion. I know you all are surprised and even terrorized by my idea, but this is the only way we can save our people from inevitable destruction. According to the justice of the land, Vikramaditya Bhupathi, will have to accept my offer has I am considered a traitor on their land and any traitor can prove his innocence by inviting the other party for a duel.”

Mihira and Adityadeva, were surprised by Atharvaa’s decision. Mihira first reacted, “Now you are married man, Atharvaa, what does our Queen say for this?”

Atharvaa replied, “ She may not given her consent, but she accepts. The need of the hour for Jaya, people are to rebuild but not war. She knows this very well as the Queen of Jaya and Gandhamadana”

Mihira, “You are very clever Atharvaa, strategically, you used the status of Jaya people, but what about Gandhamadana, even if Vikaramaditya Bhupathi, accepts, as a King if you loose, every citizen of Jaya and Gandhamadana would have lost too..”

Atharvaa, “Rather than thousands of people dying, in trying to protect me, as a King if I win, then every one will be saved, aren’t they? Till the acceptance of duel, I will remain the King of Gandhamana, after the acceptance, whatever the outcome be, I will no longer remain the King of Gandhamadana, this nation of high hills, will forever be ruled by a Queen. That means..”

Adityadeva understanding Atharvaa’s intention,” means even if Vikramaditya double crosses our King, we still remain an independent nation following the justice of our land, if a Queen or a King is appointed as an independent but not as a representative by the predecessor. “

The council of wise men was stunned by this decision of King Atharvaa and they were moved for his Undying Love towards the nation!

“96 hours, so what there are few cases where the missing person was still unfound. If a 62-year-old sane man, doesn’t want to be found what can Police do. Do you know how many cases we file in a day? And how short we are on staff? Complaining is easy madam, searching isn’t! “

Koyal was shocked with the cold reply of the Police Inspector. On any other day, he would have got a nice lecture. But the time is precious and every second needs to be used on finding Venkat. Ankur and his friends are already trying hard to find Venkat. Nothing is helping them.

Koyal had been continuously asking her techie friends to find the SIM address of Venkat. They were able to trace the last known location, but it was Ankur’s home. Since 40 hours, they were forced by Koyal to trace non-stop. They were tired of all this too. Many of them, told Koyal that they could no longer help, while only one person was sympathetic and continued his tracing.

Finally, Ankur mobile rang buzzing Venkat’s name on the screen. Delighted, Ankur answered the call but there was another person on the other side and the news he delivered terrified Ankur to no end.

Venkat was found dead near the highway, 150 KMs away from the city. Ankur received a call from one of the locals who found the body early in the morning throat slight and thrown in the lush bushes by the side. By the time Ankur and Koyal, arrived near the spot police were examining the place. There was a crowd surrounding the spot. Breaking the crowd, Ankur and Koyal, disturbed and frightened to the core, went near the police inspector.

Police asked them to identify the body and asked them to collect after the autopsy. The autopsy results showed that the throat was slit in a hurry and there were some bruises all over the body indicating Venkat fought with his killer. Police handed over the body to Ankur and they also gave him a heart shaped locket, which after opening would show Venkat, and his wife’s photo on left and right, respectively.

It was his mother’s locket. Police told him that they suspect some body might have tried to rob Venkat, and he fought for the locket vehemently. In an attempt to grab the locket they might have slit his throat still Venkat didn’t relent. Scared they might have thrown him into the bushes and ran from there.

“How come no body found the body till 4 days? Why? Who did it? Can only be found in the further investigation. We will try to solve the case as soon as possible. Your father’s love towards his wife seems undying. Sorry for your loss,” saying this the Police Inspector walked away from the mortuary.

Ankur and Koyal, fell on the floor weeping their hearts out. They were inconsolable.

“Sometimes I feel had we not challenged each other we might have never met. “ said Koyal with a mischievous smile on her face getting ready to tease Ankur for the nth time with the same line. Somehow, Ankur can’t handle the thought of not meeting Koyal. The guy, who never ever wanted to be in a relationship and always wanted to maintain a healthy distance between him and women, is now crazy for this sweet bundle of mischievous energy, Koyal.

Ankur just ignored her; something more is bothering him. The only family member he is left with, his father, now missing from past 59 hours. He knows Koyal would loose her mind and turn into a detective trying to find all possible clues and the lack of any would even drive her crazy. She grew close to him so much in these few days, that she waits for weekends to spend all her time with him. He is struggling to tell her the truth while he was able to skip office under the pretext of some close friend’s wedding and try to search each and every possible corner of the city where he thought he could find his father.

Searching and finding a 62 year old sane man, should not have been this difficult, that too, in this age of connectivity. He has been following each and every twice still everything has lead him to dead end.

Koyal, was unable to understand this difference in his behavior. He never said that he had a close friend, for whom he would take leaves that too during the time of appraisals and promotions. She wants him to open up to her rather than she trying to get it out of him. His eyes all tired, indicating lack of sleep, his clothes all dirty, indicating he never changed in at least three days, his body odor too indicating he has not had time to bathe for even a minute. And his arrival to her flat that too around this late in the night is making her worried and crazy. Still she is trying to keep a straight face in front of him and not trying to trouble him with even more questions, who already look devastated.

She excused herself for loo but while leaving his side, he is not letting her hand from his hand even after she pleaded. He is not at all relenting. Just tightening his grips on her hand with her every pull away. She screamed at the top of her voice in his ear to bring him back to senses. Getting back to senses with a jerk he pulled himself away from her. He is frightened and tortured to very core. He slowly started releasing his grip on her hand, understanding his situation she pulled him into a tight hug.

Tears started rolling down his cheeks. He hugged her even tighter. All the desperation, all the pain, all the twisted scares spinning in his head are now rolling out in the form of tears. He is inconsolable. Her eyes even started to wet seeing his condition, feeling his emotion. She did not try to break the hug he is not ready to let go….

It is amazing to even think that two completely mad egoistic geeks can find each other through a childish challenge where no body won but the hearts met. He found her skills amazing, she found his timing and impromptu moves brilliant. Both started respecting each other. They kept running into each other in the elevators. They started exchanging glances whenever they passed each other even when they were with their favorite companies. They even started waiting for each other near the elevator area to just sneak in some moments of happy coincidences. Finally, Koyal asked Ankur, for a coffee breaking the silence art flimsy routines. Ankur was overjoyed and there, a love story was born. Ankur, never hid anything from his father, so he took Koyal directly to his house and to her surprise, Venkat, Ankur’s father, was so welcoming and he shared all his childhood funny stories and showed her all his wife’s belongings which she wished to be gifted for her son’s bride before her death. His request to her was simple, “Never let go of Ankur”..

Both Venkat and Koyal, grew close to an extent that she used to spend any free time with Venkat at his house than with Ankur. Whenever, Ankur complained about it, she used to reverse complain on him to Venkat. Even Koyal’s family was happy with the alliance and everything was set for the lovebirds to get married and start their own family. Like always, life just pulled them out of their happy bubble.

After a long time, Ankur, whispered in Koyal’s ear, “Dad, is missing from two days, I have been searching for him all over the city…”

While he was still talking, Koyal couldn’t believe what she was hearing. In state of shock, she pulled away from Ankur and she looked at him. Her shock slowly transformed into disbelief and fear. She was unable to digest the news, while Ankur was speaking, “ I don’t know what happened to him, I never felt this alone, never this helpless.. Hope he is alive.. Hope nothing bad has happened ..”

Hearing this she slapped him hard twice and ..

“You thought I don’t deserve to know what happened to Venkat? .. Why did you not tell me immediately after you knew? .. What are you doing here? Why are you not searching? Even though with an instance you made me outsider.. I am going to let this go, as it is now time to meet Venkat. Wherever he is, he is alive and he might just been to an unannounced vacation. It’s not time to sit and cry, its’ time for action .. Just get up …. As you proved useless .. let me try now and you will be silent all through and will only talk when I ask you to. (searching fanatically all over her room) . Where are my keys?? “

Ankur silently hangs her car keys near her face. She grabs them and he follows her. In the car, ..

“See Mr. Ankur, this is a Permanent Collaboration. And even though it is quite evident that you think otherwise, we are family and never ever repeat this ever.. “

Ankur was spell bound and he couldn’t thank his gods less. Now, he wanted the destiny to be kind once again and show him his Papa..

I urge you to withdraw you orders of invasion against Amaravathi….”

Holding her hand and caressing it gently ..

“Kumudini, no good can be achieved with this war. Stop it .. Please!”

Kumudini holding Atharvaa’s hand tightly and pulling him even closer to her, they were so close so that both of them can feel each other’s breadth, she kisses on his lips with all her love towards him. Atharvaa taken back by her bold step tries to pull out of the kiss but she pulls his hand even closer and with her other hand pulls his head even more towards her. Atharvaa starts gives in to her passion slowly and they start making out with all fierce passion, sexual energy and ending all the longing for each other’s touch. After few minutes, of passionate make out, Kumudini slowly moved away and then, leaning her head towards his says,

“I can’t be away from you any longer, my King. My duty towards my family and country can no longer force us to be distant and I know some envious wolves are trying to create a wedge between us and I cannot let hit happen my love.

Even if it is the right thing to be done I don’t want it .. I want this.. US .. “

Atharvaa, looks into her eyes and slowly moves away. He is unable to digest the circumstances and the passionate plea of Kumudini, making it even tougher for him to even. Tears started rolling from his eyes showcasing his internal turmoil and Kumudini couldn’t hold it back anymore too. The Young couple thinking about their situation and the inevitable cried their hearts out and slept in each other’s embrace whole night. Atharvaa got up in the middle of the night and walked towards the window. He started gazing at the sky where moon is shining brighter than ever the view of a peaceful City sleeping enjoying the cool breeze and in a distance the waves of the ocean are thundering on to the port. The Island Nation, Jaya and its’ capital city, Vijaya are prosperous at the mercy of the most peaceful ocean activity. All the people in the entire island are more than thankful for the gods of seas for being kind and compassionate towards them. But things fast seem to change that night. Slowly the tides started growing wilder and wilder damaging the port and livelihood of the people. The winds started picking up with every passing second and in front of eyes, Atharvaa saw a beautiful full moon night turning into a disastrous memory within a matter of few minutes.

In the morning, Atharvaa, entered the Chamber of Elite Council with Kumudini, and there he asked his minister, Adityadeva and Mihira to accompany them with him to address the public who are looking for a relief after calamity. King Atharvaa took the center stage and started addressing the public…

“We all are in the state of shock and terror and our are eyes are filled with tears of helplessness while some lost their loved ones, many others their livelihood, some lost everything. Today, we all understand that our lives are at the mercy of mother-nature and somehow we failed to see feel her displeasure and dissatisfaction towards us last night.”

Kumudini trying to understand the hidden meaning of Atharvaa’s words is expecting him not to forget the passionate night they spent embracing each other. Atharvaa looked at her understanding her yet in a serious tone he kept addressing the gathering..

“I observed many of you tried to save each other and even I tried to save myself and my loved ones (looking at Kumudini), kept on pleading the rain gods to be kind on us and our children. Slowly the dangerous horrifying winds and the rain have stopped. Mother-nature showed some mercy on us but the winds haven’t seem to die there. They seem to have carried on, they were never bothered to look back at the destruction rather they just headed forward. If a destructive force can be so fierce and ruthless, why not collective positive forces of our ambitions move forward. May be we should look at moving forward in unity. At this hour of terror, I King Atharvaa, of Gandhamadana, announce that we people of Gandhamadana are with you and in fact to honor our unity, I announce my decision to marry your and my soon to be Queen, Kumudini, today. Along with this, I also announce hefty compensation to all those who lost their livelihood, as they aspire and to all those who lost their loved ones, you all are welcomed to the wedding as my family members making you Royal subjects and also my family members. We, in unity can rise above the fury of mother-nature.”

Finishing his speech, he looked at Kumudini who is almost in tears of happiness while Mihira seemed amused by the sudden action of Atharvaa, Adityadeva, looked worried imagining the near future. Public at the gathering, were overjoyed with generosity of Atharvaa and were all pleased that the long dream of union of Gandhamadana and Jaya at last arrived for them.

King Atharvaa got married to his soul mate, Queen Kumudini, in a ceremony filled with people from all creed and caste acting as the family members of Atharvaa, in front of a large crowd, who clapped throughout the marriage and celebrated the union in a grand fashion dancing and singing their hearts out, forgetting the calamity the last night was.

“This is cheating,...” shouted with vigor, Vikramaditya Bhupathi, the King of Amaravathi.

“Who gave him any permission to act on his own? Without me he would not even been alive today! He might be very happy with this whole drama but I will burst his bubble of happiness… “

To his Prime Minister, Singabhupala Narasimha,

“Ask our commander-in-chief, to ready our troops, we are destroying Gandhamadana, until the last of its’ legacy, its’ riches collapses into pieces and every citizen is burnt into ashes… Hell Hath no Fury!”

Kousalya, was happy to see her love, Aaravind, finally shedding his inhibitions, walking into an hospital and outside her room, waiting for her to allow him in. Her life long wish to see him do something out of his comfort zone, for her is coming true. Her will to live as increased even more.. She wants to see and enjoy this side of Aaravind, a little bit more. She wants to see how much he can do for her. How much more???

She signed Aaravind to walk in with her eyes. He obliged. For him, it was that 20 year old, girl who looked at him with those awe filled eyes, even more filled with love and affection. Even today, even after going through hell of cancer treatment she still has the same awe and affection in her eyes for him. This makes him proud, alive and lively.

He always wanted best for her, never tried to hurt her by going against her wishes. For him, her wishes were always like that small stubborn kid who wants everything to go her way. Never she tried to understand his point of view, which was evident in her eyes and the requests she made to him. Even though his beliefs and ideals were different he went through all the rituals, graced all the gatherings, managed to laugh through some of those uninteresting conversations. Still there were so many demands in her eyes, so much longing for him.

He was always puzzled with her, as why she cannot accept him as him. Why he has to even try to change him? No two people were ever created to act and function in same way. Why should he be a guy who is same as that person whom she wished for? Why can she not get around the idea that love need not be a saga of two like-minded people meeting and living happily ever after? Why?

There was never an answer for this question and he started accepting the life as it came. Never tried to fight with it nor even tried to change it as it would upset his love, Kousalya, more than anything. Had he been always trying to live the way he wanted, he may not have asked for 5 years to marry her! He might have just roamed around the world travelling from one place to another creating art and educating little children about it. He might have never considered selling art for living. He would have just been a free bird with wings never losing their spread.

In this age, even though now he has an opportunity to do all that he wants Kousalya to be with him at the every corner of the journey. Smiling with him. But in a cruel turn of destiny, she is lying on the death bed, fighting a hopeless cause and turning a blind eye to inevitability of the events.

Slowly, Aaravind came close to Kousalya, holding her hand. For her it is the beautiful moment she waited all life, She wanted to capture it with her eyes to the fullest. Never tried to blink even once and like that she slowly left to the heavenly abode with the moment of lifetime to treasure in her eyes. Cruel destiny just burst her bubble of happiness, which she hoped would last long really long. Aaravind closed her eyes into never ending sleep with painfully love filled eyes of tears and longing.

“The day I was told you will not survive this .. that is the day I lost my will to live. This may be the most destructive feeling I ever had in my whole life but this is what you do to me. You make me weak, dependent and I am not unhappy about it.”

Reading this part of the letter, Kousalya threw it away. She doesn’t want to give up. She wants to survive and be the happiest woman alive lying in the arms of her love. But his notes, messages and letters like these, which he sends through emails, texts and hospital staff makes her increasingly paranoid. His acceptance of her death and willingness to kill self for her boils her up so much that she wants to rip his heart out and question, “ Don’t you love me enough to encourage me survive this? Don’t you see that you are weakening me with this jibber jabber? Can’t you understand that living with you and only with you is what I did for the past 30 years and today even in this age, I just want to hear that one note, that one song you always write for me every year on my birthday! I am not satisfied with those 35 songs, I want more, I yearn for more! It pains me to not see you every minute lest I know how I spent these 6 months in a hospital without you! Only I know how much I wanted to be discharged and be around you all the time! Can’t you understand that? “

Kousalya’s love for Aravind, started at a tender age of 19! She first saw him working in his farm adjacent to theirs’. Plowing the entire 2 acres of land with a newly arrived machine, a tractor, they said and explaining to all the workers in and around him how to use it. His appearance, even though not great it was not bad too. He is not a tall, handsome guy who can sweep girls off their feet but still some magic in his voice and striking postures that he takes defines his charisma and his skills in explaining the new things to people are interesting. Looking at him for the first time she felt she has to follow him be with him wherever he went and some intense affection towards him. Her feelings never went unnoticed by her father. Even though how much ever she tried to suppress these new unnamed affectionate ones that are pulling her towards Aravind.

Her father always wanted a man who is as bright as Aravind, for her. He never wanted someone with loads and loads of money as he feels they have more than sufficient and a person with high headedness. This Aravind suited his requirement and his daughter’s actions suggested that he should act fast to make an alliance. He did and Aravind asked for five years to marry Kousalya. His reasoning was that he wants to be a man who has an identity other than being an extension of his father. Kousalya’s father agreed with his reasoning and the alliance was fixed.

Kousalya always wondered why would Aravind be so practical, so individualistic and so different from what she is? Aravind never asked her to change her beliefs neither he practiced nor participated in them. He wrote his first song for her on her 20^th birthday and it was the first gift for her from him. And when she requested him to continue gifting her a song on every birthday of her he did exactly that. Even though she requested him to sing for her on other occasions he just sang the same song but never he wrote a new one for her except on her birthday! When she asked why he did that he always opined that is what he wished for! Him being a renowned poet, a writer of successful novels and mettle.. he should be able to gift her a song every other night. But he never does that. He gifts her all the expensive ones in the world, always heeds to her concerns, acts on her demands still she never feels like he does everything she asks for. It is always something he is comfortable with. Either she loves him so much that he only asks him to do what he loves or he loves her so much that he does something she wished for with utmost comfort. Never ever he tried to impress her nor did he ask for her to impress him. Accepted her as she was. He always fought with all his vigor with circumstances yet accepting them as they are.

At this point this very nature of his is troubling her to the core. Doesn’t he want her to live with him? Is he contempt with the days they had together? Why does she always feel that she has to fight with him to push him to love her more? Why does he just for once feel the same as she without her insistence?

Kousalya came out of her thoughts as she heard a knock on her door and at the opposite there is the man she loved…

Atharvaa, the King of high hills, Gandhamadana, a well-built, handsome, intelligent young King, is in deep thoughts looking from his fort, built on the tallest hill of the land, with the densest stone walls, beautifully carved art at every nook and corner of the palace showcasing crafty amalgamation of yesteryear charm and young innovation, guarded with iron will by many soldiers, towards the vast and happy town filled with joyous, mischievous and innocent people of different classes living in peace. His eyes are sensing the torturous future that none of these people are aware off and fury like never before, that can unleash with one selfish action of his. His ears are growing deaf to the pleasant sounds of the roasters, and the buzz of a busy town, rather they are hearing loud screams to save them from the grave danger that is knocking at their doorstep in the form of, Vikramaditya Bhupathi, The King of the sea and fertile coast, Amaravathi. A long-time family friend and father like figure, who supported his early coronation, after the unfortunate sudden demise of his father, the most loved and popular King of High hills, AmarPratap, now demanding fee in return for all his favors otherwise threatening to be unleash the fury like never before. This friend threatening to turn foe demanded Athravaa, to marry his only daughter, Alakananda, against his wishes.

Atharvaa, always dreamt, Kumudini, daughter of Island King, Vijayapala, Princess of Island nation, Jaya, as his queen from a very young age. Kumudini, known for her smartness and beauty, reciprocates the same feelings for Atharvaa. Both have made ever-lasting promises through many silent glances. The understanding between these two can be described as the substance for many epic romances. Amarpratap, promised Vijayapala about the alliance and even conducted Vaak Dhanam, a practice, which involves announcing about the alliance in front of priests, elected officials, few hundreds of citizens from both the Kingdoms and a Deity, Vaakdevi. Legend is that, those who fail to keep their promise made in front of Vaakdevi, will be cursed for years of drought and untimely death.

Young King is now in a dilemma, choosing one woman over other would lead to the same destiny. As a King, if he chooses Alakananda, his land will be cursed and choosing Kumudini, as a lover would lead to a battle, that can last for generations leading to demolition of any peace and happiness of his kingdom forever. Understanding his mental state, the senior most priest of the kingdom, Mihira and the Prime Minister, Adityadeva, wisest men of the land, walked slowly towards him. Adityadeva’s pleas to Atharvaa, have gone in vain has he was in no mood to come out of his thoughts. A soothing touch from Mihira, on his shoulder, finally snapped him out. Tears flowing through his eyes are evident of his unfathomable pain. Mihira, wiping King’s tears gestured Adityadeva to hand-over the scroll came from Amaravathi’s King Vikramaditya Bhupathi.

“I can’t imagine that a person like you would do this bro, I mean you challenged a woman for a race… Unbelievable maannn ..” exclaimed Rajesh trying in no way hide his excitement over the turn of events. Why would he not be surprised, Ankur, the nerdy geeky moody guy of the entire office challenged Koyal, equally nerdy geeky but slightly eccentric girl for a race over the video game, Care Race 3D.

“No time for jibber jabber .. let’s move”, Ankur ordered his roommate and only friend in the entire office, Rajesh. Ankur didn’t even bother to look at Koyal who was standing right opposite to him.
