So many things have happened since then and I hope that starting this year, I can give more time to this little corner of mine for some travel and other updates about life lately. HELLO, IT´S BEEN A WHILE...

It´s been forever since I´ve updated this blog of mine. So just to give you an update of where I´ve been and what I´ve been doing, I´m still here in my tiny corner of the world and visiting high places( as in mountains) and traipsing around vineyards just before the wine season is about to start.

With international travel getting a bit complicated due to the you know what, I´ve learned to appreciate and be contented with what´s right in our own backyard. I´ve always been a nature lover through and through and so travelling to big urban jungles isn´t a big deal for me. The city where I live is full of parks and surrounded by mountains and just a little less than an hour, you can also visit the vineyards for free because they´re just along the highway. As for the wine tasting, that, you have to pay though.;)

We took these pics at the beginning of summer where the grapes look like tiny little dots yet.

In a month or so, they would be ready for harvesting and you´ll be seeing those purplish globes hanging soon on these branches.

It´s Been a While, I Know...

It´s been more than a year ( 13 months since my last post exactly) since I´ve left this blog. I never thought that I would go back to blogging again. To be honest with you, I lost my interest in the hobby. Then I got hooked on watching You Tube fashion and lifestyle channels on my couch most of my spare time. I know it isn´t a healthy habit but it relaxes my mind, lol! Then sh*t literally hit the fan in the beginning of March and as for the rest of the story... we all know how it ended. So with nothing to do except do the daily mundane chores and watch more You Tube videos, I decided to visit this forgotten little nook again and sort of pick-up what I´ve left before. I´ve got a gazillion of photos to show you this time, might that interest you a bit? 😉

To start, these are spring pics from probably around this time last year when it was warm enough to wear short sleeves and sandals and we were free to visit the malls. This outfit was quite especial to me because the hubz who literally know nothing about fashion and colors complimented me on this look. I´ve always been partial to purply and mauvy things and paring them with neutral colors made the whole ensemble cohesive, don´t you think?

These are all old stuff in my closet but they are very reliable basics. You can never go wrong with basics so better stock up on them! And yes, the culottes. I´m drawn to them like a moth. I have about 6 pairs now in different colors and most of them are denim. If I had to wear pants all the time, I would definitely choose this style and straight leg jeans. They free and cool your legs especially in the summer!

WIWW: The Straight Leg Jeans

Hello, everyone!

The spring weather has finally arrived on my doorstep and so I´m wearing spring-y outfits these days. One thing that I´m really loving are straight leg jeans. I´m a convert since last year and it´s the best decision ever.

For somebody whose got thick calves, straight leg jeans are a breather to wear and they´re the comfiest style aside from culottes, IMHO! Moreover, they go well with sneakers, sock boots, heels, flats and even mules.

I´d wouldn´t say never again to skinny jeans but for now, the straight leg style is my current go-to. If you´ll see this in a different wash or color on my next posts, don´t tell me that I didn´t warn you. ;)

WIWW: Tonal White

Hello, everyone!

Here´s a lone snippet of what I wore about two weeks ago. The weather´s turn spring-y to an even summery temperature today and so it looks like winter has gone for good. So consider this a fitting farewell outfit to winter 2018-2019. ;)

The tonal look is a huge trend this year and being a vertically challenged girl that I am, I welcome this trend with open and willing arms.😁 FACT: All of the items that I´m wearing are from the current sales except for the booties which I´ve had for two years now. So this look is a win-win situation after all!

WIWW: The Tonal Look

Hello, peeps!

So it´s another week again of nothing but rain in my city, how boring. I would have preferred if it snowed for some landscape change but, nah, it´s rain all the way, girl! On top of that, I got sick last week and wore nothing but pajamas and so this look was the only redeeming factor for the whole week last week:

Yep, I got `dressed up´ because I went to do the groceries. If it weren´t for an empty pantry, I can´t be bothered to change into anything. Since I´m a die hard fan of the tonal look ( vertically challenged girl, here), I opted for an all-gray look. I´ve always been partial to gray, it´s one of my go to colors aside from black and blue. A tonal look is quite the easy peasy combo actually, just put your varying shades of color, et voila!

All items from this look are old. I mean, just look at these skinny jeans, it´s like more than four years old. I can´t find a straight leg pair in this tone and so I´m still using this pair of skinnys. The coat was from two years ago too and those silver slip-ons, I don´t remember.😃 Coordinating the whole look with a black raffia tote because I´m a no-fuss girl like that.

I´m quite better now but the weather isn´t still. I hope it´s sunny in your side of the world!

WIWW: What I was Wearing Lately

Hello, my loves!

Yep, it´s been half a year since I´ve been gone. As usual, real life got in the way with virtual life( although I wasn´t really very active with virtual life to begin with, oops!). Anyhoo, here´s just to give you a heads up that I´m still alive and kicking and even if I may be not upgrading the blog with new posts for a very loooong time, I´m still on trend with the, uh, trends. 😃

Like for example, the ubiquitous animal print aka leopard print, I´m still wearing it. Mine though is a jacket from more than two years ago. A print like this never goes out of style and so you better stock on it. Just pair it with a monochrome look and you´re good to go.

As for the snakeskin print, I experimented on it a few years ago with a dress but this time, I opted for a pair of booties which I got during the Black Friday sales last December. It was one of my best buying decisions last year because I´m loving them!

Now this Teddy Coat? It´s such a warm coat to wear especially when the weather drops from mild to freezing cold. It´s in a brown color too which is a classic come autumn and winter. Winner-winner.😁

And yes, Pantone´s Color of the Year, Living Coral. I find that my warm with yellow undertone skin tone ( wow, that rhymes quite well, hahaha!) goes really well with this color and no wonder why I´m ¨hoarding¨ this shade/color for years. The peachy look make-up is even my go to for along time now! I found this coat while window shopping with a friend last December and while I tend to choose black or gray over this color, I´m regretting now that I didn´t buy this. I can´t even find this on the sales nowadays or maybe... the store stored it back for spring?

WIWW: Stripes for Life

Hola, holaaa!

With the ¨trending¨ hot weather nowadays, wearing a super loose bottom to feel comfy can be quite challenging for a petite girl like me. So I incorporate prints into it like stripes.

Aren´t we also glad that pajama dressing is in? Because these pants look like pajama bottoms and I´m loving it. Truth be told, these are one of my go to pants to wear this summer. They´re just so breezy, light and leg lengthening, don´t you think? I even paired it with flat sandals and they still look good!😄

WIWW: Little White Dress

Hello, hello!

If there´s one piece of clothing that should be called the ONE in our closets all throughout the summer season, it´s the little white dress. I mean, duh, it´s a no brainer, right?

white dress, denim jacket( all old)- Zara, shoes- Kickers, bag- Bimba & Lola

It doesn´t matter if it´s a mini, midi or maxi, short sleeved or sleeveless. A white dress is a classic, ALWAYS is.😊 Moreover, it goes well with a denim jacket, in classic blue or even colored when the temperature drops in the early or during late evening. And speaking of temperature drop, our summer weather is quite abnormal. Although thunderstorms normally come after a few days of consistent high temperature ( not reaching more than 30ºC though), they always convert into a huge hailstorms with lots of wind and super heavy downpour. Bad, really bad.

At least we have a lot of cool days too and so I´m not complaining much. So, do you have a little white dress stashed in your closet somewhere?

Monday Remix: Mixing Prints

Howdy!

Do you still mix prints? I still do!

Although summer is in full swing right now, there are still days where the temperature drops to 21ºC maximum and so I can get by wearing a light knitted top over anything,; a pair of jeans, skirt or in this case my good ole cullotes from three seasons ago.

I just make sure that the colors/ color motiff blend with each other, in this case, I mix a black and white striped top with a same colored color combo of chevron prints at the bottom and there you go! I stayed with the two-color theme by wearing black Mary Janes and a black tote bag for a more harmonious ensemble but accented it with a shell necklace from Bimba & Lola which was scored from the sales about three years ago.

So if like me you also do mix prints, what are the usual color combos you opt for? Have a lovely week ahead, y´all! :)

Monday Remix: Some Gingham and Wide Legs

Good morning, everyone! :)

Let´s bring it out there, I can´t just get over this pair of wide leg jeans/ culottes. Now, we both know that I´m very petite and culottes or extremely flared bottoms are not quite aesthetically pleasing for a vertically challenged gal like me but who cares? When you´re a jean fanatic like I am and it´s so hot out there, wouldn´t a flowy pair of denim be the best alternative? ;)

This pair came out pretty high-rise and so pairing the right top for it is quite tricky. I´m glad that I still have this old gingham top from three years ago, et voila, problem solved! I guess it´s time to shop for shorter tops in the sales too. #shopaholicradarison

WIWW: Marigold

Hello, hellooo!!!!

I haven´t given you a proper welcome for summer but hey, we´re still in the middle of it, right? ;) Anyway, with the temperature slowly rising by the day and dropping a little during the night, I tend to favor wearing just a plain tees and softly textured jeans.

My favorite color nowadays is marigold. Now if that color doesn´t scream summer, I don´t know what does. Well, white of course but you and I know that white is given. ;)

Monday Remix: The Gingham Blazer

If by chance, you´ve been following my sporadic posts for a number of years, you would´ve known by now that my style choices have changed drastically from too colorful to too plain, hahaha! Don´t get me wrong, I still wear color from time to time although a lot of them doesn´t get documented here for some reason aka no time to edit and post,oops!

Anyhoo, the weather´s still goes loco on this side of the world and while it may already be full pledge summer in your place, we´re still experiencing the four seasons in ours(in a day).

So what do I usually bring with me on days like these? A light blazer or to be exact a gingham blazer which I bought from the tail-end of the winter sales late February of this year.

It´s light, in a classic monochrome color, long enough to cover my bum and in a discrete print where it doesn´t clash with what I´m wearing. Just the perfect all-around blazer to lug around during spring and early summer actually.

WIWW: The Floral Dress

About two weeks ago, a friend of mine invited the hubz and I to her son´s First Holy Communion. Now if you´re catholic and live here in Spain, this is a big deal. The people here treat it like a mini-wedding and is strictly a family affair. So we´re more than happy that my friend and her family decided to share this special occasion with us together with a couple of common friends. This was what I wore:

I´m not a ¨dress-y¨ type of gal, per se. Do shirts/ denim dresses, count? They´re usually what you´ll find inside my wardrobe. 😃😃😃 To be honest, I think I only have three which I consider real dresses and this one which was a sales find last summer which I didn´t get to wear until now. At first, I considered wearing palazzo pants or my favorite eyelet white dress but I had a problem finding the perfect handbag to go with them. Then, I found this gauzy floral number in light colors at the bottom of my closet, they´re perfect for spring actually!

The weather´s chilly in the morning and so I had to wear clear stockings, By the way, do you know how it´s difficult to find a nude stocking color to match your skin? It´s a hit or miss and as always, mine´s a miss, hahaha! I bought mine at H&M and I hope they bring out samples for skin matching because it´s quite difficult to do a swatch test when all the stockings are already packed and with the yellow lighting and all. To give the look a casual and modern twist, I draped a light denim jacket over the dress et voila, outfit complete!

WIWW: Last Weekend

We celebrated our wedding anniversary last weekend. Since I opted not to cook at home this year, we went out for lunch on a typical spring day: rainy, windy and with some snippets of sun in between. Ya know the drill. Thinking that we´ll be staying indoors most of the time, I didn´t bother bringing a jacket with me and just put on this thin cardigan over my long sleeved floral top. Ooops, BAD.

When we went out of the restaurant, it was raining hard, the wind was wild and the temperature dropped.. a lot. It´s a miracle that the hubz was able to take these photos of me on the street as I shivered my way to our parked car! The car was about 10 kilometers away, just kidding,it´s only about 50 metres away, lol. We got lucky finding a parking space on the crowded street.😁

Despite the cranky weather, our lunch was quite enjoyable. We ate in a Chinese resturant which also serves Japanese cuisine. It wasn´t fancy but we had our fill of maki, gyoza and tempura! Coffee and dessert were in a bar near our place because we love trying new things around the neighborhood.

Monday Remix: Dotty Dots

Hello, everyone!

It´s been a while, I know.😄 After a couple of months of hiatus(as usual), I finally got to edit some photos for the blog. Everything that I´m wearing here are not new except for the dotted top:

I haven´t been catching on with the trends(clotheswise) this season because I found out that I´ve got most of them all along in my closet(spring cleaning does that) and so I just buy pieces that really catch my eye like this flowy top:

The top´s got billowy sleeves which is quite tricky to wear when you have short and chubby arms but hey, you´ve got to think out of the box and make things work in the name of fashion, right? ;) I just made sure that the dots aren´t big enough to drown my petite size and the top loose enough to skim over that muffin top that just keeps on growing by the year. Note to self: You´re not getting any younger Che and so move that ~~tummy~~ butt( a lot)! lol

Monday Remix: El Matadero

Hi, everyone!

How time flies! We´re almost at the end of the 3rd month of 2018 and yet, I¨m still posting photos from 2017(lol!). I got so busy( as usual) and didn´t get to get to edit these photos when the hubz and I went on a weekend trip to Madrid last December. Finally, here are some of the pics taken from the street of El Matadero, a slaughterhouse complex converted into a center for the creation of Contemporary Arts:

Before posting some more OOTD pics, can we just take a moment to admire this ¨mod¨ design of our hotel room? I love the no-fuss minimalist design and pastel color combo which I find so clean and refreshing. The last time we stayed in this hotel was about six to seven years ago and the room deco wasn´t like this at all! With a change of management and some interior renovation, the room turned out like this. I can´t say though if all of the rooms are refurbished like this ( I´ve only stayed in one) but I´m loving it! The hotel´s name is the Weare Hotel Chamartin and no this isn´t a sponsored post by them. 😊

Back to my OOTD, it was a sunny but very cold day in Madrid. It was bearable until the wind blowed, hahaha! That´s why we don´t usually visit the city in the middle of winter, it has this kind of coldness which penetrates through the bones. It´s a good thing that I wore a good quality wool coat and this plaid scarf to wrap around my neck and face when my nose started to get runny.

As for me, the weather´s nothing , but rain, snow and rain, yes in that order. I´m fed up of my thick sweaters and coats, I need the sun and warm weather as in right now!

Monday Remix: Winter Uniform

Hello, everyone!

Just passing by to say hi. The weather´s been true winter-y these days and that means, either snow or rain and nothing in-between. So I´ve been wearing a lot of this wool coat with jeans and trainers these days. For those semi-dry days which are like a rarity(hehe), I wear these sock boots from the current sales:

Here´s a dresing room selfie of what I was wearing inside my coat, the sweater is quite old but a keeper.

I´m so loving these boot cut jeans that I scored from the Zara sales lately. Although it loos like that they make my legs bigger and shorter( which they really are, lol!😁) in the pics, they´re very comfy. Also, boot cut and straight leg jeans are perfect with sock boots. I´m so loving this combo!

To finish the look, I´m just using another old( what´s new?) crossbody bag for another no-fuss outift while out and about.

WIWW: Casual in Lime Green

Good morning, everyone!

Here´s a what I wore look while spending the last days of 2017 in the south of Spain. We escaped to Seville to celebrate NY´s Eve and the first two days of 2018. Gosh, the weather was a lot warmer in there though we had to wear a jacket in the early morning. Oh well, comparing to the northern part of Spain where we live, the temperature´s definitely twice higher in Seville! So I opted for a spring-y look while staying there.😊😎

This lime green knitted top(AW17 sale find) never ended up in any of my blog posts whenenver I wear it and so I´m debuting it in the blog today. The jeans were another old winter sale find ( I´m into relaxed fit these days, aren´t they so comfy?) and busted out an old bag of mine from two years ago. The shoes were Gucci-esque, a lovely find from Portugal where we had an early autumn/fall trip last year which was actually like, three monhs ago, lol!

Flyday Fridays: To Somewhere Green and Fresh

Happy 2018, everyone!

Oh yes, I have the perfect explanation why I stopped posting on the whole month of December. I ran out of pics to post( true story!) and you know, I was traveling and Christmas season was in full swing in my tiny abode and so my barely there blogger life took a back seat.. yet again.🙏😉

Anyhoo, I´m back for now(hehe!) and consider this post a sneak peek of what´s to come ahead. We had a long weekend holiday on the second week of December here in Spain and so the hubz and I took the time to escape to Catalonia and dropped by Lloret de Mar´s Jardins de Sant Clothilde just to enjoy the quietness of the place.

The garden´s located just up the cliff and down below is a little beach for some private walking, talking or relaxing under the sun. Although the city that I live has a lot of parks and trees, there´s nothing more relaxing than inhaling pure sea air around you

It´s quite a chilly day and drizzling a little( winter´s technically about to start) and so I wore a light gray coat and a thicker sweater to go with it.

WIWW: The Week That Was

Hello, my luvs!

The cold weather caught on us finally and... it looks like we jumped directly to winter! So the past week, I wore nothing but jackets, jumpers and my favorite black sneakers. Here´s a rundown of what I did last week

1. The hubz and I went to our centuries old and very coquette cemetery to visit our loved ones on November 1. It was a dreary day but the sun came out in time for lunch so yey for that! :)

2. The day after, I decided to do some window shopping at the mall. I saw this very cosy and toasty top at Zara. Love the stripes and the color combo too(I ´ve got a tote bag and mules to match with it, matchy-matchy, hehe) but the practical gal in me decided to let it go. I needed a long sleeved top because it´s winter, you know and I want my arms to feel warm too.

3. The weekend is for cultivating the mind and soul or make that every 1st Saturday of the month because I always make it a point to attend a classical concert at my city´s Museum of Fine Arts. Yes, we´re spoiled like that and yes too, I look like the postwoman aka the bumblebee in my bright yellow jacket. The day´s still dreary with occasional rain showers and so I needed a full blast of color to brighten my day.😌😊

4. Sunday was the coldest and wettest day of the week but that never stopped me from going out because who never says no to a free buffet meal? I just bundled up thick. Don´t mind the double chin. This was a ¨take a photo of me here, no one´s coming yet¨ situation and so we just have to seize that moment, right?

After looking at all of these photos, I´ve noticed that I´ve been using the same cross body bag the whole week because I´m like that, I wear what I only see outside of my closet, lol!

Monday Remix: Khaki Monochrome

Good morning, everyone!

I´m showing you another outfit from my short Portuguese escapade about three weeks ago. As I was telling you last week, the weather there was still summery and so I made use of this shirt dress again and went for a monochromatic look in khaki:

I always love a good monochromatic get-up because it´s pleasing to the eye, elongating and it looks chic. The funny thing was that I didn´t notice that the background was in green (and white) as well until my aunt and my friends pointed it out to me when they saw these pics in my FB page. Looking at it now, my look blended really well with the background. 😊😉😃

WIWW: Fall Floral Skirt

Hellooo!!!

Here´s what I wore when the hubz and I went on a long weekend trip to Portugal two weeks ago. The weather´s so summery that I only packed nothing but this skirt, a shirt dress, sandals!

I bought this skirt from the summer sales. No one really picked this one out because who would want to wear a dark and thick floral skirt in the middle of summer? No, I don´t but hey, I always think about the future and so she( ~~I always call my skirts and dresses~~ a she,lol!) went home with me. Glad that I did because for me, she´s the perfect skirt to wear in autumn/fall. Just pair a short sleeved top and mules/sandals with it for those warm weather days and...

a jumper/sweater with tights and boots/booties or whatever shoes you like wearing on those chilly days and you´re done! This is quite a nice transition dressing piece, don´t you think?😉

Good morning, my darlings!

The weather´s getting loco in here, one day the temperature drops to 12ºC and then the next day it´s up again to 25ºC. Frankly, I don not know whether to take out all of my cold weather sweaters or keep my summer tops still in my closet drawers. What a dilemma climate change brings!

Anyway, this is my usual go to look when I´m feeling( pun intended) under the weather, a light colored top and gray jeans for a clean aesthetic look. The faux suede mules also help when it´s too hot to cover all of your feet but still need to cover your toes because you know that it gets chilly later. Know what I mean?

WIWW: The Floral Burgundy Dress

Good morning, darlings!

I´m still on the dress mode these days. This burgundy cutie with embroidered flowers on the upper torso were one the first floral dresses that came out of Zara at the end of summer this year. I´m partial to burgundy especially during the fall/autumn- winter season and so I didn´t think twice when buying this:

And....it´s quite difficult to find a dress which fits a vertically challenged girl like moi in Zara but after trying this one on, it fell about 1 1 /2 inches above my knees. Hallelujah, no going to the tailor and so it came with me back home!😃

I wore a light green colored cross body leather bag to match with the light green floral accent of the dress and my favorite flats( I lived in these all throughout summer) et voila , autumn outfit completed!

So what´s your take on this autumnal color? Do you have anything burgundy in your closet?
