You will be required to handle the following:

• Purchasing of equipment to maintain the hire fleet. 
• Perform scheduled maintenance on all hire bikes
• Coordinate customer facing scheduling using our online booking platform

You will need to have 5+ years experience in bicycle repairs and maintenance with deep knowledge in diagnosis and suspension servicing. With this background and a passion for customer service, you will partner with our Workshop Manager to ensure that the needs of our customers are met and safety and service levels are always adhered to.

On the job training is provided for our booking platform only. Without the necessary 5+ years experience in bicycle repairs and proven knowledge of suspension servicing you will not be eligible for this position. Ideally we are looking for someone who has operated a bicycle workshop that can essentially take over the management of our hire fleet without hesitation.

The full time position will be Monday to Friday with a Salary Range starting from $75,000

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Managing the hire fleet, including the purchase, storage and maintenance of hire bikes and accessories (bike racks, children’s strollers, electronics, batteries (e-bikes))
• Ensuring that service records and maintenance schedules are completed and followed for all hire bikes and accessories
• Working efficiently on building new hire bikes and the service/repair of existing hire bikes 
• Setting up of hire equipment for customers
• Managing the booking process from end to end with customers including, queries or complaints, check in/check out, appropriate bike/accessories set-up,  terms & conditions and insurance
• Liaising with the Retail Manager in relation to scheduled bookings during workshop closure times
• Uploading of hire items to the website
• Liaising with internal marketing to increase awareness of the hire fleet
• Maintaining and updating processes and procedures related to the hire equipment
• Prioritising work flows and working to set deadlines to keep the highest possible availability
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment in the workshop
• Providing effective and efficient customer service, ensuring up to date product knowledge is maintained 
• Maintaining knowledge of workshop procedures 
• Maintaining customer records 
• Supervisory assistance to the Workshop Manager, including supervising more junior employees as required
• Maintaining security and practicing loss prevention strategies, ensuring appropriate procedures are followed to minimise risk
• Replenishing stock service items in the workshop for the maintenance of the hire fleet in consultation with the Buyer
• Abiding by workplace health and safety procedures and policies 
• Other tasks as directed 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

Qualifications: 

• Certificate III in Bicycle Workshop Operations or equivalent (desirable)
• Suspension Servicing accreditation or demonstrate clear understanding
• Drivers License 

Experience: 

• 5+ years’ experience in bicycle repairs and maintenance

Skills: 

• Intermediate computer skills with knowledge of POS systems 
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to supervise staff and provide support/direction to team members
• Organisation and scheduling skills are a must.

No bike shop experience is necessary as on-the-job training will be provided. You simply need to great with people, enjoy following systems, know the value of working as a team, have great listening skills and be an excellent note taker. Computer literacy is necessary.

RETAIL SALES ASSISTANT Full-time

We are seeking personable people who have 1+ years experience in a retail sales or customer service environment, preferably within a bike store or with knowledge of the industry. You will be required to have availability and work at least one weekend day. 

In this role, you will be responsible for all customer service based aspects of our sales process. Preparation and day-to-day tasks within the store to efficiently serve our customers. The successful applicant will have great communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers. A high level of initiative with the ability to work as part of a team is essential. Of course, being passionate about bikes and willing to learn is a must!

Workshop Covid-19 Protocols

-  You clean your bike: All bikes must be presented to the workshop clean. Dirty bikes will not be accepted. 

- We clean your bike: All repairs will incur a $15 Disinfecting Fee that includes a disinfecting wash prior to handling the bike and a disinfecting wipe down upon completion of the repair. 

- You clean your bike again: As a final precaution we strongly suggest wiping your bike down at time of pickup with disinfectant wipes as a final safeguard. 

- Online bookings are essential and can be made HERE. 

- All repairs must be dropped off the day prior to your booking. 

Please be aware that our trading hours have changed and reduced hours are in effect. Check current trading hours HERE. Our store remains closed for public browsing and is continuing to operate a Call & Collect system.

- Providing additional hand sanitisers for customers and staff use for best hygiene and cleanliness practice (where possible);
- All staff are required to declare their health status and stay home from work if unwell;
- Staff and customers asked to adhere to ‘social distancing’ guidelines and maintain a 1.5 metre distance from others in-store. 

We ask that extra consideration be given to our workspace and that non-essential visitors do not come in. We apologise if this causes any inconvenience, but the reduction of contact with additional people will greatly reduce the risk of potential infection.
