Midnight Madness Photos

Well its been a long time since I had been to Midnight Madness, and despite not driving, I had a pretty good time. I made some rookie mistakes being that I had not taken any footage or photos of drifting in a long time, but oh well. A lot of the video turned out quite nice, but accidentally left my slr on aperture priority when I was taking video :/ not good when the iso is bouncing around.. but its not too bad.

Also, sorry if I did not post a pic of your car out there, most likely because the photo turned out shitty.. I got an hours worth of video on my other camera though, and will try to upload the stock footage so everyone can see their runs..

Good to see all the old peeps again as always.

Anyways, here are the pictures, im not too disappointed at them, though I will bring a monopod next time for sure.

Will also try to bring a car to drift as well ;P

Blow through vs. draw through

I'm looking for prod and cons of both blow and draw through set ups. i.e. boodt before throttle or after throttle.

Dual caliper hand brake

I've been looking into a dual caliper hand brake set up for my s14. This is the only bolt on kit I could find. I'm thinking about ordering it but wanted to get some feed back on the design and if you seen any potetial problems. The kit uses two z32 calipers with a mustang rotor. The plate is cnc machined and adds 8mm of spacing. Do ou guys think that the aluminum would hold up well as a spacer with this design? Thanks for any input:)

Ok so I have all the necessities back together and before I bolt all the turbo piping on and all that jazz I tried to start it and no bueno. I thought I might have had 4 on the compression stroke and I did so I flipped the timing around and still nothing. Any ideas? Or something I could be missing? I have checked and I have fuel and spark

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:
6:30am Gates Open for drivers
7:00-8am Registration, Driver Check In, and Technical Inspection ****If you are driving arrive between 6:30-7am so that we can get you checked in and tech'd****
8:30am Drivers meeting
ASAP - 1st car on Track
4pm SHUTDOWN. Facility Closes/Secure Track

Driver Instructions Leading up to the Drivers Meeting:
* Please take your car to the pit entrance and prepare your car for tech.
* After tech you will pit at your designated parking spot or go to pre-stage if you're in the 1st run group. Wait for drivers meeting.
* For tech inspection requirements the official rulebook can be found HERE
THERE WILL BE ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON ALL CARS THAT DO NOT PASS TECH THE DAY OF THE EVENT. IF YOUR CAR DOES NOT PASS TECH YOU WILL NOT DRIVE AND YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND!!
* Tandem will be allowed for approved drivers only. Due to insurance requirements, all tandem drivers will be required to wear a fire suit in addition to the normal roll cage requirements. Please contact us once you have registered if you are a previously approved tandem driver so that we can place you in the appropriate run group. NO passengers in Tandem groups.

Event Rules and MISC:
*Speed limit in the facility is set @ 10 mph and WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.
*Any person(s) engaging in an unsafe or inappropriate behavior on or off the track as deemed by the event organizer, track officials, and/or venue, will asked to leave!! NO WARNINGS
*The facility has many barrels which can be utilized as trash receptacles. In order to maintain a good relationship with the facility and event organizers, we encourage all participants to pick up trash and clean up their pit areas.
*Although not encouraged, changing of any fluids on the property the day of the event will require a proper drain pan, minimal/no spillage, and fluid will not be left on-site. Any fluid must be taken with you and properly disposed of on your own terms OFF OF THE PROPERTY. If spills do occur, clean up MUST be performed by the person performing the task or you will be asked to leave the premises.
*Failure to abide by all of TO's/Facility's rules will result in being removed from the premises without refund and possible banishment from any future Traction Optional events.

MEDIA:
Media is welcome to this event, but you must contact Traction Optional staff prior to the event day. All media personnel will not be allowed on the track at anytime unless approved by track officials. There will be a section cleared out on the outside of the track for some great pictures. Midnight Madness @ GMP this Friday night, may 25th.

You know and love the drill. Drifting during Midnight Madness @ Gateway Motorsports Park. Gates open for general spectating @ 7pm. Hot track starting @ 8pm sharp. Don't get stuck in the lines to get into GMP. Get in early.

Also this Midnight Madness, Spectator Pre-reg!!!!!! Got a crew member with you? Want to set yourself up to get in before anybody else?

Same price as the gates, but easier to get in.

Be sure to put your first and last name in so that you can get on the gate list and gain that early access.
You must be in the gates before 7pm to enter at the IL 203 entrance.

All 10 spots are taken for the pre-reg. You can still get out and slide though. Gates @ 7pm
