Before the world of the internet and Facebook, life was so simple. You wanted to speak with a friend, you picked up the phone and called them. Or better yet, you actually visited the person. Life was simple for drink vending machines back then too. You put money in the machine and out came your drink. Wanted to buy a soda for your friend? First of all, he had to be with you or you were going straight to his home. You put in a few coins and handed him the drink - friendship renewed.

But Pepsi has a different view on what is simple and social. They are introducing new drink vending machines that allow you to "interact" with your friends and purchase them drinks. These drink vending machines are touchscreen and highly interactive, and also take a long time for you to get a soda. These new machines have three options: buy a drink, send/redeem a gift, or random acts of refreshment. The first option is easy and simple. Use the screen to scroll through your options, look at nutritional facts, and order your drink.

The second option is where we get high-tech. If you're feeling rather generous, you can purchase a drink for a friend. The instructions are fairly straightforward. Choose the drink you want to send, enter in some information (which I'm assuming is name, the other person's cellphone number, etc), and record a personal video. This is the part where you can be "social" and say hello to your friend and hope they enjoy the refreshing Pepsi. After all instructions are finished, your unsuspecting friend will receive a text message telling him to visit his nearest interactive Pepsi machine to redeem his free drink. When you redeem, granted there is one of these drink vending machines nearby, just follow the steps and enter in your code, watch your video, and enjoy your refreshment.

The last option is actually the one that is most admirable. Random acts of refreshment allows you to send drinks to strangers. But it's not like winning the lotto. The drinks are sent to someone who is in need, such as a person who lives in a city just struck by a tornado or a hurricane. Although the person would rather have a new house than a new Pepsi, the good intention is still there, and that counts for something.

Who would have thought drink vending machines could become so complicated? Pepsi has, no doubt, put a lot of money into these new machines so we can also expect an increase in price. But I suppose that is the price you pay, literally, to be social nowadays.

Old bottles from soda drinks like Pepsi and Mountain Dew are great collectibles. With lots of people collecting as a hobby and many more collecting them to sell and it's not just the bottles that are of interest as even the vending machines are becoming popular to collectors.

There is a renewed interest in collecting vending machines. The earliest were simple self-service containers which had a cup to collect coins. Soon, automated machines appeared. You deposited a nickel in a slot, and a bottle dropped to you. When machines were introduced that had the capability of making change, it was a major breakthrough.

Few Pepsi vending machines were made in the past and are now hard to find. Competitors bottles were smaller and Pepsi bottles did not fit in the their vending machines. Also, large bottle custom vending machines was not a viable option for Pepsi.

Given this unique design, it was not possible to have a single device distribute beverages from different manufacturers. Few Pepsi machines from the era were made, and almost none continue to exist. The goal of management was to spend as little as possible, so they did not invest in the benefits that might have come from vending devices.

Then came the turn of electronic, with a small computer which can collect sales and other data. In future these equipments will become collectibles. The day doesn't seem far when you can find a soda dispenser by swiping your card. Machines dispensing cans and 20 ounce size unbreakable bottles are quite familiar. Currently these models are not regarded as collectibles, however, a few people still buy these as part of their home decor.

One of the most popular items among collectors is the rare machine which dispensed directly into a fountain style cup. The older models were quite small and fit easily on a counter or a table.

Bottled Water Companies are well advised to participate in large events and promote a strong public relations campaign. Do you run the marketing department for a bottled water company? Have you see the recent backlash from environmentalists about filling up the dumps and landfills with plastic bottles?

Have you read the reports on plastics and recycling? Have you considered how to address the issues that plastic bottle caps often end up with so much bacteria on them that they defeat the safety of drinking bottled water? Have you seen how cities are fighting back saying their water is just as pure or that you should not drink water that is too filtered? And what about those reports about decaying plastic getting into the water in the bottle?

Obviously, these issues are taking a toll on sales and therefore a good public relations campaign is indeed needed to combat these negative issues in the media when it comes to bottled water. It therefore makes sense to get busy and perhaps even hire a community relations team or contract with a public relations firm to insure that your Bottled Water Company does not become the target of a boycott or public relations disaster in crisis mode. It makes sense to get busy now to prevent public attacks on bottled water today. So consider all this in 2006.

Single Worst Food/Beverage in the World is the 20 oz. Soda: A single soda a day for a year = weight gain of 25 lbs. Many researchers believe that if the 20 oz. bottle of soda was eliminated that's all that would be needed to stop the runaway obesity problem. Many people either forget or don't realize how many extra calories they consume in a single 20 oz. bottle of any regular soda: 250 calories and 15 teaspoons sugar. Drinking only 1 a day for a year can result in a 25 lb. weight gain.

High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) not the cause of obesity:

In 2004 a series of scientific articles blamed obesity on high fructose corn syrup that became the major sweetener in soft drinks and many other foods. They cited evidence that fructose was only metabolized by the liver which turned the fructose into fat. Furthermore, HFCS lacked any effect on satiety. It became nutritional dogma that sugar was healthy, and high-fructose corn syrup was not. More recent evidence indicates that this is not true, the metabolic effects of HFCS are minimal and beverages sweetened with HFCS are no more fattening than other beverages with similar amount of sugar.

Mexican and European Sodas Have no HFCS:

One of the interesting side points made by many scientists is that pure cane sugar is used in Mexico and Europe. The incidence of obesity in these countries is approaching that in the US where HFCS is used almost exclusively.

Most of the studies compared HFCS with pure fructose:

HFSC is 50% fructose and 50% table sugar (white table sugar, which scientists call sucrose, is made from sugar cane or sugar beets and consists of 50% fructose and 50% glucose.)

Recent studies show all sugars are the same. This year more than five scientific studies found no link between HFCS and obesity.

Is High Fructose Corn Syrup the "Devil?"

One paper was written by Barry Popkin, a co-author on the original 2004 paper, who said

"It doesn't appear that when you consume high-fructose corn syrup, you have any different effect on appetite than if you consume any other sugar," he says. The kind of high-fructose syrup that sweetens almost all soft drinks in the USA is made from corn and consists of 55% fructose and 42% glucose, both of which are slightly different sugars. "People think high-fructose corn syrup is the devil and table sugar is natural," but that's not necessarily true, says Elizabeth Parks, a professor of clinical nutrition at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. "So far the research appears to show that sucrose and high-fructose corn syrup are not that different," Parks says. She believes there's some evidence that the way they are metabolized in the liver is different, but not in a significant way.

If it's not the kind of sugar in sodas, what is it?

It's the total amount of sugar and thus the calories: 15 teaspoons of sugar-250 calories whether it's from table sugar, HFCS, brown sugar or raw sugar.

What is Pepsi's new "Natural" Soda?

Pepsi released a "natural" soda, the sweetener is 15 teaspoons of white sugar, the calories are still 250 calories. It is natural or are we just fooling ourselves?

Conclusion: Pay attention to the calories and stop losing focus on the type of sugar. A single 20 oz. bottle of

a soft drink results in a 25 lb. weight gain if consumed every day.

Dr. Victor Fulgoni writes a conclusion to the annual American Society for Nutrition Public Information Committee symposium for 2007 titled "High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS): Everything You Wanted to Know, But Were Afraid to Ask.... "served as a platform to address the controversy surrounding HFCS. Speakers from academia and industry came together to provide up-to-date information on this food ingredient. The proceedings from the symposium covered 1) considerable background on what HFCS is and why it is used as a food ingredient, 2) the contribution HFCS makes to consumers' diets, and 3) the latest research on the metabolic effects of HFCS. The data presented indicated that HFCS is very similar to sucrose, being 55% fructose and 45% glucose, and thus, not surprisingly, few metabolic differences were found comparing HFCS and sucrose. That said, HFCS does contribute to added sugars and calories, and those concerned with managing their weight should be concerned about calories from beverages and other foods, regardless of HFCS content."

When you receive the Seal you begin to care about the environment. So you will be happy to see how chemical engineers have recently discovered how to old bottles like water bottles into new bottles.

Many people think that when they recycle old plastic bottles they are turned into new bottles. Nope! Until now they have only been used to create lower-grade plastics.

A new technology is changing that. Many plastic bottles are made fro polyethylene terephthalate, or PET, and they have not previously been recycled back into their original uses.

But now soda bottles, water bottles, and beer bottles can be recycled back into food-grade plastics which are safe to contain beverages due to a new technology discovered by chemical engineers.

What happens is the used plastic is ground down and then a big machine called an extruder removes the water from the plastic. After this it is melted and broken down in a process known as depolymerization.

When it is melted like this it runs just like transparent glue squirted from a tube, ready to take any shape a manufacturer might want to form it in. And these new forms are considered high-value uses.

A high-grade plastic can be used for a high-value use. So water bottles can be recycled now into more water bottles. This is a miracle in recycling technology and was just recently thought to be impossible to do.

That is the goal of the chemical engineers: high-value uses. PET plastics have a virtual monopoly on the world's supply of carbonated drink bottles. Almost all carbonated drink bottles are made out of PET plastic.

That makes it easy to identify to recyclers. Sorting at the recycling facility is not much of a challenge with PET. That is its big advantage for recycling, and now it has another one--the potential to be restored to its original use.

The problem is that this plastic is virtually non-biodegradable. It would take so long for them to break down naturally that it is not practical to even consider that as a solution.

And it used to cost too much to recycle PET back into food-grade plastic. But that has all changed now. This new recycling machine drastically lowers the cost.

The goal of the engineers has been achieved--to make bottles out of the old ones again without having to make new bottles. And it is needed now more than ever. Americans produce around 60 million empty drink bottles every day!

Another problem not solved here is how to get more people to recycle. Those plastic bottles are notorious for ending up in landfills even though they can be recycled in most places in the US.

When you are sealed you will begin to care about the environment because God will plant a little garden in you. You will be a little piece of ground, a model of the greater earth.

So you do not want to hurt the earth any more than you want to hurt yourself. When you begin to care about your own health you will begin to care about the earth too. And you will care when you receive the Seal.

Promotional models that work for beverage companies are having the time of their lives as they get to go to special events, dress up in sexy outfits and get paid to flirt. Does that sound like a job you would like to have?

I have been working with promotional models for over 10 years and every girl that I have hired absolutely loved it. They not only became more confident people but they were able to break into higher paying modeling jobs.

Promotional models that can make anywhere from $15 per hour up to $40 per hour. Miller lite girls are making around $30 per hour and they get to go to special events, concerts, football games and meet celebrities, owners of sports teams and professional athletes.

Do you like to travel?

Imagine going around the US in a luxury bus sponsored by Bacardi. You get to stop and party at some of the hottest clubs around the US. If you are lucky enough, you can even get a free paid trip to Cancun and other spring break destinations.

Whoever said promotional modeling is not fun must be out of their minds. How many jobs do you know that actually pay you to be yourself and I mean the fun you. If you like to flirt with guys, meet new people in bars and travel around the states, then promotional modeling is for you.

Promotional modeling for major beverage brands such as Bacardi, Miller Lite or Monster Energy Drink is beyond fun.

Coming up with great advertising can be very time consuming. Individuals can spend countless hours coming up with the perfect campaign in order to meet their goals. Sometimes an advertising campaign can have a quick turnaround time. Companies or individuals may need to come up with the perfect concept and get it done quickly. Magnetic signs are a great concept for fast and easy advertising projects.

Fast magnetic signs for any occasion are typically very easy to get a hold of. The unexpected is always just around the corner and sometimes individuals may not have as much time as they need. For example beverage companies are known for their advertisements. Advertising teams may go over thousands of designs and opinions trying to come up with the perfect magnetic signs. Generally after drafts of the signs are designed they must go to another department for further approval. Team members hope that their designs are approved but if they are not, changes must be made and it's back to the drawing board. These advertisements campaigns can become so complex that several different designs may be put on the drawing board. Another aspect is that with so many people involved in the design process it can go back and forth several times.

Beverage companies always have deadlines so by the time the various groups have come to an agreement, the magnetic signs may be needed ASAP. Fast magnetic signs are not a problem and once the final design is made the advertisement campaign can get underway. The hardest part of getting magnetic signs is designing them. Beverage companies want to make sure they are just right. They want to make sure that their signs are directed toward the appropriate target group. For adult beverages they want to appeal to adults and signs that can bring in adults. Particularly around big sporting events such as Super Bowl or holidays such as the 4th of July they want fast signs so that they can take advantage of the festivities. If it is a kid's drink they want kid friendly signs that can attract kids and their parents.

Fast magnetic signs are great options because patrons can rest assure that they will be the same high quality signs. The only thing that will be sacrificed is the length of time it takes to produce the great advertisements. Time will be reduced which can help companies meet important deadlines and save money.

If you're reading this third party review of Ximo Health, chances are you're looking for information on the company because you're thinking about joining. Before you do, I want to encourage you to go over this entire review so you can make an educated and informed decision about the company and business opportunity. In this review, I'll go into the actual company, the product, the business opportunity and whether or not they have what it takes to become the next big healthy beverage company. I want to disclose that I'm not a Ximo Health distributor, so rest assured I'll be giving you this review from an unbiased perspective.

First of all, let's go into the actual company. Ximo Health is a company that sells a healthy beverage through a network marketing business model. The Salt Lake City, Utah based company was relaunched in November 2010 under new owner, and CEO, Erik Laver. Laver has a very impressive business resume dating back to 1992, where he got started in network marketing with a company called E'OLA International. In his time with E'OLA International, he was able to build a team of 500,000 distributors and became the company's #1 income earner. After his time with E'OLA International, he co-founded and acted as President of SendOutCards, which is currently a very popular network marketing company that is doing very well. While there isn't much information on the rest of the company's corporate team, it does seem that the company is positioning itself to be a player in the functional beverage category of the network marketing industry.

Ximo Health markets a sugar-free, healthy functional beverage called Ximo. It's reported benefits include increased energy, improved mental focus and weight loss. It contains green tea, which not only provides the benefits mentioned, but also contains antioxidants, which fortifies your immune system and lowers blood pressure. Aside from green tea, Ximo also includes Quercetin (which improves circulation), Yohimbe (which increases your metabolism), Niacin (which increases energy levels), Trimethylglycine (which protects against dehydration) and caffeine.

As far as the business opportunity is concerned, you can join Ximo Health by purchasing an initial order of product, then maintaining a monthly autoship. The company has a unilevel compensation plan, that provides four ways to get paid. The first way to get paid is retail commissions, which you can earn by personally selling products. The second way to get paid is through the Great Start Bonuses, which allows you to get paid 35% of the initial order of anyone you sponsor, and 15% of the initial order of anyone who is sponsored by someone you personally sponsored. The third way to get paid is through unilevel commissions, which allows you to get paid on the autoship orders of your downline down to 8 levels based on your rank. From a business standpoint, it's good to know that the company compresses out any inactive distributors so you can get paid on 8 levels of active distributors. Last but not least, based on your performance, you can also participate in the Global Leadership Bonus Pools, which would enable you to get paid on the overall purchased of the entire company. Overall, the Ximo Health compensation plan is quite fair and can be lucrative for the right person.

In summary, Ximo Health is definitely a solid company. They have a CEO that is documented and experienced, they have a good product that is backed by science and testimonials and a generous compensation plan. With that said, having all that in place isn't enough to succeed. While it's clear that having a credible company is critical to your business, at the end of the day, your success will rely on your ability to sponsor new people into your business, market products and get customers and build a productive team. One of the key components to accomplishing those things is the ability to market and generate leads. My recommendation is that you use a proven Attraction Marketing system that allows you to brand yourself, generate leads, make money even when people don't join your business and sponsor people on the back-end. If you can incorporate online attraction marketing and branding with a solid offline system, there's no telling how successful you can be with your Ximo Health business.

Success with your Ximo Health business requires a working knowledge of personal branding and lead generation. Learn to build your Ximo Health downline by being an Alpha Networker both offline and online.

Additional online training to help you Sponsor Ximo Health Reps is available with Jaime Soriano.

Article Source: EzineArticles.com<!--

Beverage delivery companies know that they must support the brands that they sell and the more they do the better chances of selling more product in that market. Often these companies co-op advertise with the bottling companies or product corporation in order to promote these products in the distributors market place.

Public Relations is also a very big part of the game and of course they wish to be represented at ball-parks, county fairs and major events like the Rodeo, Air Show and NASCAR events too. But public relations between such big events is also important and with all those delivery trucks I suggest that they join a neighborhood mobile business watch program in the area as well; why? Well simple let us look at this business model for a moment shall we?

BEVERAGE DISTRIBUTION COMPANIES: Beverage companies go to gas stations, mini-marts, grocery stores, C-stores, bars, institutions, and are usually involved with all types of community activities: fairs, events, schools, etc. They need to remain in a positive light with local public relations. Many times the leadership of their company is involved in local service clubs, chamber of commerce committees, and non-profit kids groups.

Now then you can see why this does make so much sense and why all beverage companies should look into helping the community, which supports them through beverage purchases. So, please consider all this in 2006.
