Well, this car has been out for about two years now. Today I saw one, on the road, for the first time. Man, I did not think that it would have been this long. The GT-R is truly a rare car here in Michigan. The All-Wheel Drive layout encourages year round driving.

I’m glad I was able to see it. I wanted to take a picture, but I was working so it didn’t work out. That’s okay though. Sometimes we’re just meant to enjoy, in the moment. And that’s what i did.

The color was Super Silver, which is an extra $3000. You can option the cold weather package that comes with Dunlop all-season run-flat tires, 30:70 coolant mix and High-luster dark smoke wheel finish. Otherwise, Ultra High Performance tires come standard.

So I bet your wondering how much this bad ass car cost. Fully optioned with the paint and the floor mats is just under $89,000. That figure is straight from the Nissan web-site. If your going to do it, do it up!

It’s an expensive vehicle, but the thrill of owning one is priceless. I imagine. It a fantastic sports car and worth every penny I’m sure.

So, I have been writing about the Ferrari 599 GTB. The Fiorano and the 599XX. Today I talk about the 599 GTO. The road-legal version of the 599XX. A homologated version.

The horsepower from the V-12 is 670, down 30 from the XX. The 599 GTB has 612 ponies. This is Ferrari’s fastest production car to date.

The hood has four air intakes and the roof is carbon. The GTO also receives more aerodynamic bodywork, including a new front splitter, side sills, rear spoiler and diffuser. The 20-inch rims include F1-derived wheel donuts helping the aero efficiency.

This car is so what a GTO should be. A brute, fast and refined.

For those of you that love the 599 GTB Fiorano for it’s power, smooth handling, and beautifully comfortable interior, strip most of that away and you have the 599XX. While the interior gets a roll cage and the body recieves aerodynamic pieces the engine puts out more power. 700 bhp and a screaching 9000 rpm redline.

This car is for track use only. That is why Ferrari will be holding track events around the world. Only two of the events will be held in the United States. I believe that the races will be to best your own time.  There is also instruction for any questions one might have.

Ferrari introduced the 599 GTB Fiorano in 2007. The wait list was four years long for that car. The car pictured features the Handling GTE option package recently released for owners/buyers of a GTB.

With 620 horsepower from the 6.0-liter V12 and 448 lb.-ft of torque moving through the six-speed transmission made it the most powerful and sophisticated front V-12 in Ferrari’s history. Sixty years worth of dominating competition experience go into this 550/575 Marenello replacement.
This is a Beautiful car. I would be ecstatic to experience this cars beauty and grace first hand.

If you ever find yourself with a stuck throttle, you do have options.

The Brakes for one. Hold the brake pedal down, don’t just hit it. This should slow the car down considerably. It may take several hundred feet to come to a full stop.  Several manufacturers have added software that will cut power to the engine when the brakes are applied. If you are buying a new vehicle, ask if that is one of the safety functions. Heck, try it as you are test driving the vehicle.

If you are driving with an automatic transmission, simply move the gear selector to Neutral or Park. The latter will most likely come with a disturbing grinding sound, but hey, your alive right. This may sound obvious but if you have a manual transmission, just push in the clutch. You will still have to endure the racing engine sound but you can then just use the brakes to slow down in either case.

The last thing to do is just turn the car off. Now, this will mean that the power-steering assist is gone and also the brake pedal will be much more hard to push down. This should be seen as a last resort. Although, if you have your wits about you, turning the key to the ON position will give your steering and brake pedal back. Now-a-days certain cars come with push-button start. If this is true with your auto then you will hopefully remember that the button needs to be held down for a few seconds to turn off the vehicle. You should read your owners manual for precise time.

So if you find yourself speeding out of control, stay calm and be rational.

This Top Gear video is from April, 2008. Jeremy takes a drive in the new (at the time) Porsche 911 turbo.  He is on the side of Ferrari in the begining.  It actually sounds like he owns one. I can’t blame him, I dream of my first Ferrari everyday. In fact he calls Porsche owners, idiots. But at the end of this video he has warmed up to the 911 Turbo.

I can only race these cars on Forza 2 and 3, my favorite racing games. I would certainly be open to owning both cars. I enjoy the experience of an automobile and they all have their unique traits.

I need to give props to Top Gear for their wonderful show. I always enjoy watching clips and a full episode here and there. The Stig can drive a car to its limits and keep a fast lap. He put down a hell of a lap time in both cars.

The Dodge Viper ACR has a wicked sound and the driver hits the rev limiter often. The Viper has so much grunt. This is a fun video to watch.
