First, you're going to need a free Google Adwords account. Go here and sign up for one if you don't already have one:

==>http://adwords.google.com

After you sign up for your account, you'll need to set up a Google Analytics campaign to track your Wordpress site.

So sign in to your account and click> 'Reporting,' and then click> 'Google Analytics'

Then click> 'Add Website Profile':

Make sure the button, 'Add a profile for a new domain' is checked

Enter your website address in the box

And click> 'Finish'

Now log in to your Wordpress site and install and activate the 'Google Analyticator' plugin:

Then I want you to do 3 things:

'Enable' your Google Analytics logging at the top of the page.

Select your website from the next dropdown menu.

Click> 'Save Changes'

Then you're done! Here's what your Wordpress Dashboard will look like every time you log in from now on:

Now for the "secret spy" plugin I was talking about:

It's called "Psychic Search." Install and activate it and you'll be able to tell:

What people are searching for "onsite" (on your blog itself)

And what keywords people are searching for in the search engines that bring them to your site

Pretty handy, huh?

I mean, you can see how your SEO efforts are going by knowing what organic traffic you're bringing from the search engines...

AND you can figure out what your next blog post should be based on what people are searching for on your own blog!

Well, now that you know a couple of my top-notch, "1984" worthy spy secrets, I'd love to hear what "covert techniques" you're using.
Well, you're in luck because Susanna Hess is going to share with us how she became an "attraction marketing expert" within 2 months of hearing about it!

Take it away, Susanna:

Do you ever find it hard to remember certain things, or apply them?

How many different calls, websites, articles, audios or videos have you read, or listened to about the same topic?

And if you're anything like me, you might even feel a little nervous about performing those activities right after learning them ;)

Maybe it’s making a blog, hosting a meeting, making calls, being the ‘expert’ on a 3 way call, writing an article, hosting a webinar…

If you’ve tapped into how to do it, but aren’t doing it yet, I have an almost guaranteed way to get it to stick. A way to get you moving in the right direction.

Because we all know that without action, all the knowledge in the world won't matter.

Three-Person Teaching:

“If you knew you were going to teach this material tomorrow, say to a very important group of people, would that affect the way you learn today?”

-- Stephen R. Covey

You can learn something, but when you learn it -- and then turn around and teach it to someone else -- you’ve learned it twice.

Learned it from 2 different angles, you see.

Let me give you an example:

I used to hold hotel meetings for my primary business and I reserved a room for a certain date that was couple of months away.

Then I found out about attraction marketing, and was shocked at what I learned.

I couldn’t imagine holding another hotel meeting the way I had before, but I already had it booked and would have to pay a portion of it if I canceled.

So I decided to keep the reservation and (big gulp) make it an "Attraction Marketing 101 Workshop" instead.

Just a couple of months after my very first exposure to the concept, I was giving a training to any network marketer in the area who wanted to learn.

I put out the info to many people in town, and posted a couple of flyers. I had a decent turn out, actually better than I expected.

(This was obviously a topic the local marketers wanted to know more about.)

This way of learning, 3 person teaching, WORKS SO WELL.

I’m person one as I learn it

The one teaching it is person 2

The person I teach is person 3

Why it works:

You are learning it twice this way.

Applying it makes it more real, makes the information stick.

When you’re teaching something like attraction marketing, it also really opens your eyes to how affective it really is.

When you receive the information, the learning begins. When you teach someone else it fixes more firmly in your mind.

Learn all you can, yes. Turn around and teach it to someone as soon as you can.

Don’t wait till you feel that you know everything. Teach them NOW.

Yes, you might be scared at first. I was, as I stood in front of all those people, teaching something I had only first heard of a couple months before, I was terrified.

I almost paid the cancelation fee and backed out the day before, that’s how scared I was.

But let me tell you this…

I forced myself to do this and learned more from teaching that one workshop, than from hours in front of my computer.

You want to learn the top MLM money making techniques?

Guess what, chances are you already know many of them. Now you just need to turn around and teach someone, ANYONE, what you’ve learned.

THAT is how these techniques will become a reality to you, and start getting you the results you have been waiting for.

-- Susanna Hess

==>P.S. Leave a comment and let me know what you thought of this. Have you tried it? What happened? Are you ready to try it?

I was so excited because I started out as the Receptionist, moved up to a Consultant, and then landed the Manager position.

I learned a lot from this experience and I also found out that Jenny Craig is serious about SALES.

We sold memberships, we sold food, we sold exercise DVDs, water bottles, etc.

What can I say -- we were selling machines!

The wonderful part was that everyone worked on COMMISSION.

So when I became Manager, I quickly changed the format of the Weekly Staff Meeting.

Since I had been in every position in the franchise (even if it was for a short amount of time) I was very familiar with what my co-workers were unhappy about.

Guess what it was?

Give up?

Hold on to your hats...The size of their PAYCHECKS!

Yeah, I know -- that was too easy.

As you can imagine, when Sales were down, Paychecks were also down -- and so was Team morale.

Now, I enjoy making good money just as much as the next person -- but to tell you the truth, the team morale was just as important to me.

If I was going to spend 50+ hours somewhere, I wanted it to be pleasant ;)

So at every Staff Meeting, I focused on Sales Training -- but I did it my way. I brought in food, designed contests and provided prizes!

I got the staff EXCITED about sales and they sold more than they ever had. The place was high energy and fun to be in.

Want to know a little secret that none of my girls know to this day?

Several consultants were making MORE money than I was because their sales were SO high.

It would have been easy to be jealous, to be catty, but that was EXACTLY what I had been training them for.

Would I have loved a raise from the Owner? Or course, but I celebrated my girls' success and pushed them to go even higher.

I was happy to have played a role in helping these girls do the very best they could and exceed their expectations -- even though some of them ended up making more then their own manager!

To give without want -- isn't that what helping people is all about?

Don't worry though, this is a good thing ;)

You all know that Monique and I love Mike Dillard's Magnetic Sponsoring course. I mean, it's changed our entire Network Marketing careers!

We went from cold-calling and pitching "our Uncle Joe" on our business to attracting prospects to call us.

Quite a turn-around, right?

You might be wondering, "OK Derek, how does that happen?"

And the simplified answer is MARKETING.

In Magnetic Sponsoring, Mike Dillard calls it "attraction marketing," to be more specific.

And one of the key lessons of Magnetic Sponsoring is that you need to increase your VALUE to the world. The process of doing this helps you to become a leader -- someone who knows their shizzle -- someone who attracts prospects and customers to come to them to buy.

And Monique and I are living proof that this concept actually works!

So what got me thinking about repelling the wrong people?

Well, I got an email from Byron Smith -- an up-and-coming leader who said:

"I’ve noticed that at some of the jobs that I’ve worked at in the past, that some of your co-workers get intimidated by you if exude any type of leadership qualities! They then begin to try anything in their power to undermine you, disrespect you, and maybe even get you fired. Some blue-collar jobs leave the workforce discouraged, with everyone making excuses why they can’t complete a task, or setting-up other people for failure. I’ve been a part of that blue-collar class for most of my working career. But recently I’ve made the switch over to a white-collar mentality. Work smarter, not harder."

And yes, Mike Dillard does mention that folks will challenge you as you go from being an up-and-comer to an Alpha leader.

But I've noticed from personal experience that some will actually send you hate mail, leave nasty comments, and even cut ties if they know you.

I'm not playing the victim here -- this is just stuff you should be aware of.

So what does it mean?

It means you're on the right track! Because you're going to repel the WRONG people -- it's only natural.

But this only happens when you're being your authentic, true self -- and not being a fence-sitter, trying to be "friends" with everyone.

If you know in your heart that you're doing all you can to live your dreams and to create a positive impact in the world, then rejoice in all the positive, like-minded folks who do come into your life.

And never, ever let the negative, time-wasting, soul-suckers of the world make you waste one precious second of your life worrying about them.

"But Derek, why do they do this? I'm a good person, I didn't do anything to them, etc. etc."

Well, like Jim Rohn says, "I wouldn't sign up for that class!"

===>How about you? Have any weird experiences with people when you started acting like a leader? Let me know in the comments below:

=====>P.S. Make sure to "Retweet" or Facebook Share this post if you know someone who needs to hear this advice.

Especially rock stars!

Well, I get on these kicks sometimes where I'll just be jammin' out to the same musician for days on end.

One week it might be Bob Marley, the next week I might be feeling Willie Nelson, or Louis Armstrong, or Tom Petty -- the list goes on and on...

Man, I just love music!

*TIP: If you're ever feeling down and getting tired of all the $@!&*!! widgets, plugins, apps, codes, tweets, trackbacks, RSS feeds, and all that other baloney you gotta learn on the Internet ;) -- just put a good record on and see if your mood isn't lifted!

Go ahead -- try it out next time this happens and think of your old pal Derek, who was good enough to share this tip with you ;)

Bruce Springsteen has been getting me going the last few days -- I mean, try listening to "Glory Days," "Thunder Road," or "The Rising" and see if you're not feeling like dancing around the office and making it happen!

And then I got to thinking about the Bruce Springsteen "brand" and analyzing it from a marketing perspective.

But here's the thing, being a rock star (or developing a personal brand, for that matter) doesn't mean you have to be "invincible" or pretend you don't have problems.

In fact, being "vulnerable" is part of the reason Bruce is so popular.

People can relate to him.

Listen to "Born to Run," for example -- that's one of his most beloved tunes.

Why?

Because almost everyone can relate to being a dreamer, striving for more, not being where you want to be, "getting to that place where we really want to go"...

You see, when "The Boss" wrote this song, he was still looking for that breakthrough hit and he openly admitted it.

Heck, he even wrote the song about it.

He didn't act like he had all the answers. He didn't act perfect. He didn't act like he was above the struggles of the human race.

No, he said, "Hey guys, here's my dream. I wrote a song about it. Come sing along with me."

Bruce Springsteen writes songs about people we've all met and known.

He writes songs about love, passion, desire, unfulfilled dreams, "glory days," broken promises, ideals -- he writes songs about life!

He lays his entire self out there on the line for the whole world to see -- and people love him for it.

So as you're out there developing the "You, Inc." brand, as you're out there interacting with people...Remember "The Bruce Springsteen Guide To Personal Branding":

Be yourself -- warts and all, and give people the chance to relate to you.

You just might turn out to be a rock star!

===> What do you think? Have any favorite musicians you would like to share with the group? Tell us what makes you like them so much (And I always appreciate the sweet song of your "Retweets" ;)

As many of you know, I am a visual artist (drawing, painting, etc.)...

So I thought it would be cool to give you a "glimpse into my world" to see how I look at the process of writing copy.

Obviously, I pay attention first to what my target market is interested in reading about.

Then I think about keywords I might be able to rank for -- though I don't always worry about this aspect.

Why?

Because I'm just as concerned with keeping people coming back as I am about getting them here.

It's all about building that relationship and consistently giving value, right?

The great artists put "a piece of themselves" into their work.

So, I feel it's just as important to let people get to know me as it is to get tons of traffic.

Besides, I'll take a loyal group of 100 people working together to make an impact over 10,000 scattered people who could give a damn, any day of the week!

Sometimes, I'll push the envelope to make a point -- like in my last post:

===>Network Marketing Really IS A Pyramid Scheme!

The people who take offense aren't the people I'm looking for.

"I'm only looking for people who are looking for me."

Now that you have some insight into my "twisted artist's thought process," I'll go into my thoughts on the visual aspect, or the "readability" of a post.

So now for an artist's take on writing copy that "looks good" -- good enough to read, at least ;)

1) First, I look at scale: Foreground, Middle-ground, Background:

I start with a big, bold headline that grabs the reader's attention.

Then I move on to a smaller (but still bold) sub-headline that expands upon the point of the headline.

Finally, I get to the smaller copy text that tells the whole story.

This creates an easily understandable hierarchy that guides people through the "picture frame," aka post.

2) Then, I think about color and contrast:

The headline needs to be red, because red is a warm color that "jumps out" at you and grabs your attention.

Next, the sub-headline needs to be black, because I'm going for a "clean look" -- not a Post-Impressionistic color bonanza!

And of course, the regular text must always be black, if you ask me -- it's easy to read, and that's the point.

3) Now it's time to think about composition:

People seem to miss this one a lot.

Why is composition important? Because people today have short attention spans and/or precious little time...

So it's important to make your post look like a "quick read."

How is this done?

By breaking your paragraphs into short, conversational paragraphs of a sentence or two.

I've seen a lot of posts out there that look more "imposing" than they actually are because they are made up of big, bulky, blocks of text.

Take a look at the examples below to see, from a visual perspective, what a difference this can make to a post:

Boring copy:

As the artist intended it:

See what I mean?

I took this same post and squatted it down into a cube on the top picture.

And on the bottom, I have it the way "the artist intended it."

This is a more effective use of what we artists call, "negative space" -- the space around the foreground object.

So, leave some white on the page, will ya?

And lastly, I have a bonus tip for you: Pick out a cool picture to go with the blog:

Don't underestimate the power of a good picture to capture the attention of your prospect!

(And I'm not just saying that because I have an affinity for pictures ;)

You see, most people are so used to the pyramid schemes they call jobs -- that they carry their bad habits into the Network Marketing industry.

What do I mean?

Well, first of all, your sponsor is not your boss!

And vice versa, for all you sponsors out there -- your downline are NOT your employees!

Like I said, I understand why people treat their roles this way. It's all they know.

Ever have an upline sponsor who calls you everyday to make sure you got some work done?

What a bunch of baloney! What is this, the Romper Room? Would you like to wipe my arse while you're at it?

Let's just say I nipped that in the bud real quick ;)

On the other side of it, don't treat your sponsor as a boss, either.

Sure, they signed you up into the business. Sure they owe you some guidance when you're starting out...

But their "job" is not to hold your hand and make sure you take care of your own business.

You are fellow "franchise" owners -- it's in your sponsor's best interests to see you succeed, but that doesn't mean they are responsible for your success.

Which brings me to my next point:

Any legitimate Network Marketing company will have a pay plan that will actually allow you to earn more than your sponsor.

This is capitalism at its finest, my friend!

This is what makes me thank my lucky stars every day I wake up as a U.S. citizen.

We are not operating in a "caste system" -- where you are born into this world in a certain socio-economic position and there is no chance of you "moving up the ladder"!

No, you can actually do better than the person who signed you up.

Funny thing, though -- sometimes your sponsor might not like this.

They expect you to remain in some kind of "serfdom" where you will never out-shine or out-earn them.

Nonsense!

Listen to me, if you're in this situation -- burn the bridges as fast as you can!

This is your business.

You are doing this to pay your mortgage, take care of your family, etc.

And you don't need a "sponsor" to do big things -- you just need to network with the right people you can learn from and take the right training.

Read training books, watch training videos, listen to training audios, go to live training seminars -- do whatever it takes!

This is how we get rid of the "pyramid scheme" stigma that plagues the Network Marketing industry.

Prepare to meet your doom!

Oh no!

Get out of there!

Holy Cow!

Red Flag!

BOOM! POW! WHAP!

Many foes are arriving at your doorstep to bring defeat you.

And I want you to keep your eyes open for these villains. Some of them come in clever disguises. Some of them come in a blatant fashion. Some of them will try to destroy what you have built. Some of them want to control you. Bad intentions come in the subtlest forms. Keep your eyes open, my friend.

“Some of them want to use you… “

“Some of them want to get used by you.”

“Some of them want to abuse you.”

“Some of them want to be abused.”

“Everybody’s looking for something…”

-Eurythmics, “Sweet Dreams” 1983

Danger is around the corner and you can't let these villains keep you from your victory road!

Negativity is a disease that attaches itself to unfortunate people.

Stay away from negative people as much as you can.

Don’t let their opinions affect your mentality. Love them and guide them -- but do not follow them.

Following negative people is the equivalent of following them as they jump off a 10-story building -- don't do it.

Did you ever read comic books?

Notice that every hero has an arch nemesis -- a villain who was very powerful, and able to find the hero’s weakness.

They were able to create havoc for the hero and bring distraction to them.

Sometimes, even when fighting the hero, the villain was creating a distraction that would keep the hero from saving the day.

The villain was a huge obstacle for the hero in every comic legend.

A hero’s job is always complicated:

Help out the local law enforcement officials.

Save the girl from harm.

Get the city public behind you or be hung by public opinion.

Find the secret formula that will cure the virus.

Figure out why your twisted past has evolved you into the human being (or mutant) that you are today.

Try to unlock gaps in your memory.

Figure out why the government was using your body as an experiment…

It can be this way in Network Marketing.

WELL NOT EXACTLY. Metaphorically speaking, of course ;)

You can go through periods of being stagnant because of the villains in your life.

Anything can be distracting -- the television, your best friend, the Internet, your daily thoughts, even.

Failure is a result of lost focus!

The villains most certainly know this.

Unfortunately, sometimes the heroes do not.

Stagnation leads to defeat. The hero will rise to victory and overcome only if they can perform, under pressure.

To do that, they have to be sharp.

That means keeping a laser focus through adversity.

Didn’t some of the best villains in comic book land control the hero by confusion or mind control?

The Joker

Mr. Glass

The Riddler

Cobra Commander

Poison Ivy

Destro

Lex Luther

The Scarecrow

Sylar

How do heroes overcome the villain? By using the adversity to make them stronger.

If the hero takes the stress that he must endure to learn more, do more, and be more -- then the villains won’t have any power over them!

That’s what the villains’ goals are -- to gain control of the hero and defeat him.

You are a hero if you have inner confidence in yourself, and are aware of your talents that can make the world around you a better place.

That’s what heroes are here for -- to provide leadership in difficult times.

You’re either part of the problem or part of the solution. There’s no middle ground. Trust me, I’ve looked for it ;)

Providing people with the tools they need to succeed takes a different mindset. It takes a unique heart. It takes the willpower of a general, and the humility of a servant.

Are you ready to join the league of extraordinary ladies and gentlemen? Start your home-based business with the mindset of leadership.

Obstacles will surely come your way. How you handle those obstacles will determine how successful you will be.

Be encouraged, The DrivetheLine Team is here to help! Report to headquarters!

Listen, I understand why people use replicated sites -- they seem convenient, they look "fancy," and they're relatively inexpensive...

But replicated sites don't do anything but confuse your prospect when you send them to one.

And in marketing, confusing your prospect loses you money.

Because they're not going to buy anything you have.

Because there's no call to action and there's plenty of distraction.

Take a look at this example:

I've highlighted in red all of the choices people have to click things on this Nu Skin replicated site.

There are a lot of choices.

Too many.

Sure, this site might be nice to send people you personally know and have met to.

But if you're using some kind of paid strategy to send people to this site -- you're sunk.

What am I here for?

What's the call to action?

Where can I leave my contact info for more information?

A good landing page should be doing a few fundamental things to engage your prospect and keep them glued to the computer screen – just long enough for them to make a buying decision.

A good landing page should have some important psychological triggers that make your prospect's buying decision an easy one.

And Network Marketing companies' generic replicated sites usually don't "cut the mustard."

Don't make the mistake of investing (I mean wasting) your time and advertising dollars to get people to go to your company's replicated site.

Just create a simple capture page to collect their contact info and follow up with them.

Take a look at this example:

It's simple as can be, but we've collected hundreds of people's contact info with this page because:

It's focused

There's a clear call to action

There are minimal choices and little distraction

A well designed landing page like this will grab their attention and give them enough reason to give you their contact info.

Once you have those details, you can continue to communicate with them and build a teacher/student relationship.

Sales will follow.

Obviously, there's more to a good capture page then what we've discussed here. Mike Dillard goes over some great detail on the psychology behind good landing pages in his Magnetic Sponsoring course. Sign up for his free video bootcamp here:

"Now you've just gone too far, Derek! People need to focus on one thing and one thing only -- my upline told me so!"

Well good luck with that...

Seriously, imagine walking into Home Depot and they have aisles and aisles of one thing and one thing only -- doesn't matter what -- just lots and lots of it.

To help the story along, we'll say the one thing is a particular brand of phillips head screwdrivers.

Maybe they're even the best phillips head screwdrivers around, but it's not gonna do Home Depot any good.

"Why, Derek? -- they've found a niche."

Why yes, but there niche is too small! How long do you think they can stay in business only selling screwdrivers?

Not long.

You see, Home Depot does have a niche -- but it's a large enough niche to be profitable.

Their niche? Obviously do-it-yourself home building products.

They set up shop selling things that people would need to redo and fix up their homes.

They focus on the "average Joe" -- contractors building homes from scratch usually go elsewhere.

They attract people looking to fix their homes up and they offer everything they would need to do so.

How does this apply to Network Marketing?

Well, what business are you in -- fruity juice? skin care? phone plans?

Wrong!

You're "job" is to build networks of people who buy and distribute your company's product(s).

You do this by helping people in your downline be successful in building their own networks.

These people are going to need training, coaching, business tools, etc...

So why on earth would "your shop" only be offering fruity juice?!
