Sometimes the Internet is a generational divide. Indeed, parents do not always understand Internet kids games and other online entertainment: in their childhood, everything was different. The Internet can accomplish the opposite, however. One mother reunited with her children thanks, that’s right, to the Internet: a nerve-wracking story of 34 years long got a happy ending.

As we read in the Daily Mail, Karen and Scott began searching for their mother, Vicky Rohring, in the mid-1990s. But only in 2010, after placing online ads on Craigslist and enlisting private detectives’ assistance, were they able to embrace their mother.

Although this story is still not completely fleshed out, some things are clear enough. Firstly, concern for children should be above all, even when the circumstances of life are against it. Secondly, the best kids games, toys and even becoming an adult can’t make kids forget about having a complete family. And, thirdly, if you long for something — never give up. As was shown in the experience of Vicky Rohring’s children, it’s always worth it in the end.

1. Open your friends list and choose a driving kid you want to say hi to. Then click the envelope icon at the bottom of the friends panel.

If we allow our sons and daughters to play kids games online, this most likely means more than just kids games websites are visited. Sooner or later, curiosity most likely brings kids to explore other online services. Both good and bad may come of kids’ communication online. Are you ready to sort it all out? Searching for the experience of real families with monitoring and protecting their kids, we glanced at the Baltimore Jewish Times.

Linda L. Esterson writes on precisely this: the author asked two families to share their own experience managing kids’ online activities. “Parents need to talk to their children about creating online identities,” the Zerwitzes observed. “We’ve drilled into her [our daughter’s] head that whatever goes into the Internet is on there forever, and that what is posted … could definitely come back to haunt her later,” said the Taule family.

Anyway, nowadays parents understand that cutting kids off kids games websites or the whole Internet isn’t practicable. Let your kids keep with the times – but safely!

Game websites for kids, of course, are not the only place where young schoolchildren get together. But we’d still bet that there could hardly be more kid-attractive websites than ones with free games for kids. Although we would not at all mind if the situation were to change! And some wise people think that soon there will be more learning-oriented kids online… Games, step aside!

According to New Zealand’s Topnews, Bill Gates stated that “the self-motivated learner will be on the web. And there will be far less place-based [college] things…” Microsoft’s co-founder also predicts that habitual studies may lose some of their importance, while other formats of involving children in learning might gain.

Kids’ frequent indifference to school studies may owe to the superiority of teaching, not learning: we wrote about this earlier. We believe that bringing personal interest back into classrooms, if these emotions have ever been present there, should be the true object of changes in education.

If kids online games have evolved from simple ABC kids games to complicated but fun educational games for kids, why shouldn’t education be able to make such a transformation as well?

Let’s together make an effort to reinforce our kids’ desire for learning — without forgetting, as Oscar Wilde is quoted as saying, “Education is a wonderful thing, provided you always remember that nothing worth knowing can ever be taught.”

We think that education can! Or, more precisely, the learning process itself.

As we found out from an article in The Guardian, “Pupils do better at school if teachers are not fixated on test results.” This statement is based upon a study conducted by the Institute of Education, London.

They concluded that “Pupils show greater motivation, are better behaved and are more likely to be independent and strategic thinkers when teachers are not obsessed by grades.”

We suppose that free online games for kids are extremely popular not only for their graphics, or plot, or the ease with which they persuade us to use them during our leisure time. It looks like that in children’s games, youngsters experience curiosity and enthusiasm, which seem to have dropped out of some classrooms. Not too shabby! Aren’t games made to patch the gaps in the educational system’s approach to learning?

Isn’t it time to turn school into a place at least as cool as game websites for kids? Let’s fill classrooms with what kids pick up from Flash games for kids: curiosity, self-awareness, excitement, a passion for learning, and self-confidence.

In the Driving Kids online game, there’s only one key principle: “What kids need is to enjoy learning.” Let’s do everything to make sure kids enjoy more than just their grades!

Fathers, if somebody tells you that free games for kids may replace free talks with you, that online free kids games are somehow more valued by children, do we have some good news for you! Those who say that “game websites for kids today are more authoritative for kids than the older generation” or “chatting on an online kids game with peeps is a better way to relax than talking in the dining room with old fogeys” don’t have their finger on the pulse of the younger generation.

“The secret to happiness – speak to your father”: we think this headline in The Telegraph has it right. “Young people who said they talked seriously to their dads ‘most days’ gave themselves an 87 per cent score on a happiness scale compared with 79 per cent for those who said they hardly ever spoke to their fathers in this way,” wrote the paper, based on findings made by the University of York and released by the Children’s Society.

Every father has so much to say to his child that it is sometimes simpler just to play an online kids game together and say nothing. Sometimes it works, but it’s a vicious cycle! Start with the basics: it’s not necessary to tell your kid the meaning of life while the Flash games for kids are loading.

Speaking to children doesn’t mean lecturing them. Three simple “don’ts” for those who want to their company to be preferred to that of free online games for kids:
• Your child wants to talk to you? Don’t brush him aside!
• Your child keeps silent? Don’t try to pry his secrets out of him!
• Your child sits there listlessly? Don’t rush him, but encourage him!

And once you’re off to a good start, why don’t you play some free kids games online for a while?

Video games for kids are regarded in a special way in Australia. A few months ago we wrote that some virtual sports activities there are regarded as a substitute for real ones. Recently we found out about Australian parents’ attitude towards the video games kids can play. “More than 90 per cent of Victorian parents believe video games can improve their children’s motor skills and problem-solving abilities,” we read in the Herald Sun (Australia).

While we may not boast all of the kinds of video games kids can play, our online kids game definitely falls into the educational category! Some of Driving Kids’ online games may be useful in improving kids’ motor skills (Train Construction, Taxi Racing and Helicopter Pilot), while other free online games for kids (Bus Station, Icebreaker and Sea Building) were made precisely to develop kids’ problem-solving abilities.

The data about the Garden State’s moms’ and dads’ “playttitude” were presented in the research commissioned by the gaming company THQ. 1,000 parents of children aged 5-12 took part in the survey, and four out of five parents “admit they enjoy playing video games with their kids.” Moreover, 60% of parents play kids games together two hours a week. It looks like playing new kids games is among the favorite pastimes in Australian families: Arnie likes it!

Although the survey’s results show that cool games for kids are recognized by parents, and the educative value of children’s games has been recognized, we don’t think that only searching for the best kids games in the digital world is the best idea. Summer has come, parents! And as the British Heart Foundation reminds in its nice “Get Kids on the Go!” booklet, “any physical activity is better than none.” Please don’t confine kids to a video game console or a computer with free online games for kids! Try to play active games with kids together: Arnie thinks you’ll like it!

If you had to choose between free games for kids and free educational games, what would you prefer? With summer at its height, and kids far, far away from their classrooms, children’s games with an educative bent are especially timely!

“Keeping kids learning over summer break is essential,” states Nancy Cecil, a professor of education at Sacramento State (California, U.S.), as we read in The Sacramento Bee’s encouraging article “Hundreds of apps can help kids learn this summer.”

Recently we’ve mentioned the topic of free educational games and activities during the summer. So it’s time to add one more piece of advice to parents’ tip boxes: to keep up your child’s mental activity during the summer, try to fill your kid’s game collection with fun educational games for kids!

Even if your child is not yet of school age, it doesn’t mean that he or she necessarily passes over kids online games or Flash games for kids offline. “Kindergartners are learning to add, subtract and spell on cell phone and computer applications,” we also learned from the article.

“Using technology makes students more interested in learning,” thinks Kathy Shirley, director of technology for Escondido Union School District in Southern California. The district’s teachers have done something very useful for parents, having “compiled a database of recommended apps on their website.” So one more piece of advice: when checking kids games websites for new kids games, don’t forget to check your kid’s school website for advice on how to spend the summer for your kid’s benefit!

By the way, have you seen the new game kids can play on our website? Look through our list of ABC kids games: learn English online with Driving Kids!
