As many who know me, they are aware of the pet sympathy cards I make. I donate hundreds of cards every year to pet organizations. This sentiment SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART GREETING - 307E is perfect for a very quick pet sympathy card.

I used a stencil to create a rainbow background and then I stamped the sentiment over the rainbow.
I then finished the card with a few scattered hearts.

For this delightful creation, I adorned the card base with charming pink POLKA DOT BACKGROUND - 688P.

Following that, I meticulously colored this darling VIOLET TEACUP - 1079H using copic markers and carefully fussy-cut it, elevating it with dimensionals for added depth.

To complete the ensemble, I stamped just the Mother's Day sentiment from YOU WERE RIGHT MOTHER'S DAY GREETING - 117G in matching pink, punched it out, and elevated it with dimensionals. A scattering of sparkling gems adds the perfect finishing touch.

Hello Crafty Friends,

The idea for this card sat in my mind for over a month. The first time I saw that new Happiness Comes in Waves Greeting, I wanted to do a stadium wave to go with it. I was a bit afraid of drawing a crowd, but this week inspiration hit me.

I quickly drew the people, water-colored them, and added the sentiment.

Hello crafty friends. I have a super cute baby card to share with you this week.

For my card:

I wanted to use the JENNY GIRAFFE - 859G but make it for a girl. So I started with the 4 IN 1 FASHION ACCESSORIES - 927D using the bow and stamped that on white cardstock.
Next, I masked the bow then stamped JENNY GIRAFFE - 859G on acetate to see where she would stamp. I liked the bow to where I wanted it on JENNY GIRAFFE - 859G then removed the acetate and stamped JENNY GIRAFFE - 859G.
I then colored the image with copics.
I sponged a few stars on the background, popped JENNY GIRAFFE - 859G up on dimensionals and added congratulations from the GRAD SAYING - 622G in pink.
The card was finished with a few scattered yellow sequins.

Cowgirl Birthday

Hello crafting friends,

I decided to do something a little different today, it's something I did years ago for a book cover I think. I added glue to the ridges of corrugated stock then filled it with micro beads. Sort of fun for a different kind of look. I also added some kraft color twine and glittered rhinestnes. The images I used today, DRS stamps: Lasso Cowgirl, 4 in 1 Cowboy Gear, and Saddle Up Birthday.

I used just part of the sentiment on the front and the rest inside with the saddle.

Our cowgirl is dressed in pink, she is adorable!

Cherry Blossom Sympathy

Hello Crafty Friends,

I watched THIS lovely tutorial, switched it to watercolors, and painted a peaceful watercolor scene of water and cherry blossoms for this Sympathy card using Brush In Deepest Sympathy.

It was a bit tricky since watercolor is not as forgiving when painting over another color, but the colors here (from the color challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com this week) made it easier as they are vivid and work well together. I did use white gouache for the blossoms, lights, and water lines which helped as well.

Happy Anniversary

Hi Everyone,

My best friend has her 30th anniversary coming up this month, and since I've been making a card for many of those years, I think I've used most of my anniversary themed stamps for them already. I was trying to think outside the box when I came across some Valentine stamps that I still had out on my stamping table. How messy am I, it's April!?! Yikes. Anyway, I thought if I used spring colors with these stamps that I would normally use pink or red for, they could make a cute anniversary card.

Thinking of You

I realized while going through my stamps that I did not have a stamp that just said Thinking of You. Well that just gets me going through all of my stamps to say how can I make a card with this sentiment if I don't have just that sentiment. I know, look at all of my sentiments and see if there is another I can use and yes, indeed I found one.

For my card:

I used a scrap watercolor paper and sponged 2 different blue distress oxide inks with the dark ink at the bottom.
Next, I spritzed water over the panel to get the rain effect.
I then die cut an umbrella and some clouds to add to the panel.
I found with the THINKING OF YOU AT CHRISTMAS GREETING - 183D the perfect font and sentiment. I heat embossed just the Thinking of You in white on black card stock and popped it up on dimensionals.

If you don't have this THINKING OF YOU AT CHRISTMAS GREETING - 183D in your collection, I encourage you to look for it in the DRS Designs shop because this can be used year-round for a Thinking of You card.

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today, I have one more happy wave card made with the fun Happiness Comes in Waves Greeting.

The waves were made using the wet-on-wet watercolor technique creating waves with flowing brush strokes and different colors. I also added a bit of white gouache to some of the waves and a bit of Stickles. The little surfer girl was added to the cut-up sentiment for an element of fun.

Hello crafty friends!

A couple weeks ago Nancy posted a wonderful "curl" any surfer would love to ride.

She gave me the idea to use this "woody" with some waves.

The sand is a wallpaper sample, sort of grassy.

The stamp used was Happiness Comes in Waves

I made a kind of beach wall with a brick embossing folder.

The waves have texture paste and then Stickles.

Hi Everyone,

Now that I'm done with my Easter cardmaking, I thought I would move on to the next holiday for giving cards, Mother's Day!

To celebrate mom, I used the Flower Scroll stamp that was still on my stamping table from a previous card to create a pattern on my card base.

The panel was created using both the Splatter Background, and the Easy Dot Background stamps, and I added a punched flower border to match the daisy theme. A ribbon was added before attaching it to the base.

One Medium Daisy Bloom was colored and die cut and the other was fussy cut and attached, and some glitter glue was added to the flower centers for some shine.

Finally, I stamped and punched out the Happy Mother's Day using a scallop punch to once again match up with the flower theme.

While cleaning up my craft room, I came across this emboss folder and thought oh...it looks like a blanket. Well, I just had to use it for a card and thought this image was perfect for it.

For the card:

I stamped LEONARD PIG SICKDAY BLUES - 1019G and colored the image up with copics.
Next, I stamped just a portion of the CURED YET? GREETING - 1015E sentiment. This is my way of stretching my stamps. I love using just portions of them.
I then cut down the layers and popped the sentiment up on dimensionals.
I finished the card with a few scattered buttons.

Easter Trio

Hello Crafty Friends,

Easter is a week away and I have some last-minute card ideas for you today.

My first card is a fun one that was inspired by THIS cute card done by Cristena who is the Featured Stamper at Splitcoaststampers.com this week.

I water-colored the sky and background grass and stamped the Brush Pussy Willow and painted them as well. Then I stamped Vicki's Versatile Background on some white paper and then cut the paper into fence posts. I used a little leftover water-colors to add more interest and then sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. For the critters, I stamped the Tails Up Bunny and Easter Ears Leonard the Pig, fussy cut them, and water-colored them as well. I removed the egg from Leonard's arms and ticked him in the fence. My banner was a bit boring so I got the Stickles out and fixed that. The glitter was speaking to me and I used it in a few more places as well - lol. I finished it off with a part of the 1 Line Easter Blessing Greeting.

My next card features the Flower Cross Image and the Sending You Sunshine Greeting.

I sketched and painted the tulips and wreath, stamped the cross and painted it, and then added in gold dots with some gold paint. I was aiming for shabby chic so I distressed the panel with white acrylic paint and some Distress Ink.

My last card was easier than it looks and features the Small Rejoice Greeting.

I water-colored the flowers on the egg and added in Stickles to make it more festive. I followed THIS video to learn how to do this.

Hello friends!

Well this is a bit different isn't it? I was trying to use a new sketch that came up on SplitCoastStampers this week but I put my own spin on it. I used a background piece I previously made (paint, cellophane and glossy black cardstock) to start this project then cut out white squares and stamped on them just the spade part of 4 Suite Verticle. I then arranged them on the card front in diamond shapes.

I used letter dies by I.O. with foam under them also cut with the letter dies, to say Lucky.

I popped up the frame made with MemoryBox dies then started on the inside.

Because everything looked black and white, I decided not to color the poker 5 cards hand image.

I then stamped the Lucky In Love.

Hi Everyone,

I made another card using the fun new Happiness Comes in Waves Greeting, and the whole concept is making me wish I was at the ocean.

I began by making an underwater scene using some fish stamps and a die. I colored it up using markers and some chalk shading. I attached it to a background made using the Sand, Snow, Water Lines stamp and wrapped it in some netting.

I'm hosting Easter for a group for the first time since, what I call, the "Before Times" and I needed some invites. Hence the simple design since I was making multiples. Just a bunny die and some great sentiments were all I needed. Only 5 more to go!

Hello crafty friends. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I am sharing a Mother's Day card. I need to get on the ball and get several made as I send Mother's Day cards to my mom, mother-in-law, and all my sisters.

For today's card:

I first started with stamping the DOGWOOD BRANCH - 1092H on acetate using my Misti. I wanted to mask off the branch to leave just the flowers.
Once I knew where the flowers would stamp, I created a mask for the stem and placed it under the acetate to make sure I could still get all the flowers.
Next, I removed the acetate and stamped on the white card stock.
Once I had the flowers, I used a heart die cut as a stencil and a black marker to create the heart.
I then stamped the HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY - 826C inside the heart.
Once I had the imagery and sentiment, I colored the flowers with copics and finished them with a chunky Stickles glitter for the flower centers.
The panel was layered on a coordinating pink layer.

Lots of Color and a Touch of Magic

Hello Crafty friends,

The inspiration for today's card was THIS page of shamrock images and the DRS Designs Rainbow Gold Greeting. To create the shamrock field, I used a variety of different shamrock images from DRS Designs: Small Shamrock Group, Tall Shamrocks, and Hat Full of Shamrocks. I stamped these charming designs on watercolor paper with various inks and filled in any open shamrocks with watercolor paints. I wanted to create a sense of luck and whimsey.

I outlined any of the small shamrocks with an Evergreen marker from the Artistry set from Altnew. That is why a few of them look a bit wonky. I hope the DRS Designs artists don't go on strike after seeing my crazy outlining.

Once the shamrock field was complete, I added a touch of magic by embellishing some of the shamrocks with golden centers using Stickles. I decided that rather than paint a rainbow, I would make the sky rainbow colors using a rainbow of watercolor wash. Interestingly, this particular watercolor paper, which was a fun find from my local Thrift store, is the thickest and most absorbent I have ever encountered. It eagerly absorbed the paint, making blending a bit of a challenge.

After the paint dried, I stamped the fun Rainbow Gold Greeting in Pine Ink from Close to My Heart which I also sponged on the edges. To add the finishing touch, I outlined the edge of the watercolor paper with a shimmering gold paint pen.

Despite the challenges with the paper, I feel this card is fun and holds a touch of St. Patrick's Day magic.

Hello crafting friends,

Today I have another cute Easter card to share. I was looking for a basket die that I knew I had but it was too small and the other was way too large, dang! I had to make my own so don't laugh!!!

I stamped the grass and bunny image, Tails Up Bunny, onto the blue panel and onto white.

I used a blade under the grass to insert the cut out basket I made. I colored the white bunny then fussy cut to glue over the blue bunny then I added a white pompom.

I stamped the sentiment, Happy Easter Everybunny!, on white, die cut then sponged the edges with walnut ink.

I used a Spellbinder 3D basket embossing folder for the frame which had ben die cut using a die from Impression Obsession, (the inside blue panel came from that same die). Sentiment die is also I.O.

The tiny egg die is from Elizabeth Craft Design.

Happy Easter

Hi Everyone,

Easter is just a little more than a couple weeks away, and I needed to hop to it when it came to working on some cards.

This was going to be a square card, but it seemed to need something else, so I ended up attaching it to a base with a punched border and some spring like polka dot ribbon.

I masked off a corner of my image panel and stamped the background in multiple green in using the Easy Grass Background stamp. After stamping, coloring and fussy cutting the Big Bunny Face, I cut a slit in the grass and inserted him, leaving only his ears peeking out.

All that was left to do was added the Happy Easter Everybunny into the blank spot.

Nip of Irish Cheer

Hello Crafty friends. I have a St. Patty's Day card to share with you using a technique called Stack, Cut, Shuffle. The idea of the technique is to get several cards out of just a few different papers to quickly build up your stash. This is also another way you can stretch your supplies for a few different cards.

For my card today, I focused on using St. Patrick's colors.

I grabbed a dark green and a light green card stock and stacked them together holding on to them very tightly and then making just 2 cuts on them.
Once I had the layers cut, I used one piece of the dark green and one piece of the light green and layered them with the white card base.
Next, I stamped the NIP OF IRISH CHEER GREETING - 319G in dark green on the light green.
The card was finished by adding doodled dash marks (faux stitching) on all of the layers.

More Wave Fun

Hello Crafty Friends,

I am having more fun with the Happiness Comes in Waves greeting. A recent mixed media challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com was to use tape and various mediums to create a card. I thought about it long and hard until an idea to create a wave hit me.

Preparation: I began by applying a layer of clear gesso to the surface.
Clouds and Interest: Next, I introduced black script paper to create cloud-like shapes and add visual interest.
Wave Formation: To form the wave, I tore pieces of tape, scrunched them up, and adhered them to the paper in a wave-like pattern. However, the tape didn’t want to stay put, so I applied additional glue.
Color and Depth: For the water, I used highly pigmented watercolors to achieve the vibrant hues. The sky was painted with watered-down colors to create a softer effect.
Frothy Details: To simulate frothy waves, I added a touch of Snowtex to the wave’s crest. Additionally, I splattered some more of it for added texture.
Surfer Accent: Finally, I placed a die-cut surfer on the card, elevating it with foam tape for dimension.

I love how this came out and how it showcases that great new sentiment from DRS Designs.

St. Patty's Day

We have another 10 days till St. Patrick's so here is another fun St. Patty's Day card to share.

I used DRS stamps: Shamrock Background, Nip of Irish Cheer and Everything Irish

I stamped all over the background with the Sharocks then stamped the sentiment on top with black. The image was stamped and die cut separately then popped up as was the green frame.

I added some green sparkle with Stickles.

Wee Bit Irish

Hi Everyone,

Inspired by Nancy's whimsical card last week, I decided to do the same, and use the Wee Bit Irish Greeting to make a card in that theme.

I began by stamping Michelle Monkey a few times in random spots on the card, leaving room to place my sentiment. I colored them up, stamped in some tiny shamrocks using the Small Shamrock Group, and added a few hats that I fussy cut from the Top Hat St. Patrick's Day Greeting stamp.

All that was left for me to do, was add the greeting and adhere the panels to a green card base!

Hello crafty friends. I have another wedding card to share with you. I am ramping up my wedding and graduation cards as I will again have a few graduations and weddings to attend this next year.

For my card today:

I love the look of the GIRLY SWIRLY BIRTHDAY CAKE - 454M and thought it would be perfect for a wedding cake by simply masking the candles. I stamped the cake on acetate first to know where the candles would show up.
Next, I stamped the cake on scrap paper and cut off the cake leaving the candles.
I then put the card stock under the acetate and then lined up the candles scrap paper directly under where they were stamped on the acetate.
I then removed the acetate and left the mask and stamped the cake.
Next. I stamped the MR & MRS - 175F next to the cake.
I then colored the panel with pencils and finished the flowers with a few gems.

I really love finding new ways to stretch my stamps and this is a great stamp for many occasions.

Hello everyone!

Today I've mae my first Eater card of the year. Can you believe it's only a month away?

For this card I used a stencil to create the background using Distress Oxide ink in Eastery colors. The stencil is actually pebbles but it looks like little candy eggs to me.

I used DRS stamps: Happy Easter Everybunny and Sneaky Bunny Flower Pot

The sentiment has been divided onto 2 arrow tags. I used alcohol ink pens to color.
