Hey girls! I hope you're having a great weekend. The weather forecast said that we will have snow in Athens tomorrow and of course I'm eagerly waiting for it lol! Apart from the snow, today I was also thinking about my favorite types of posts to read on blogs and I narrowed them down to 3. I love reading about everybody's favorites (monthly favorites, drugstore favorites etc., you name it), because I'm nosey like that lol, plus that way I get plenty of ideas on which products to try next! I also enjoy organization ideas posts, for example how you store your makeup, nail polish, clothes etc., because I love having my stuff organized, since it looks neat and it also saves me time from searching for things. Last, but not least, I love reviews (with swatches of course) and especially including comparisons, because it's so annoying when you buy a product, come home and realize that you already have something similar in your collection, right?

I'm still loving going to the swimming pool about 3 times per week and for 1 hour each time! Yeah, it's pretty cold and the pool is an open one, so you have nothing to protect you, but I love it anyway. The feeling of swimming in warm water and looking at the sky above you is just amazing! On another good note my skin has finally got used to the acne treament I've been using since October, so now I can put some makeup on! :) Not very often though, because I have to let my skin breathe and not disturb the job of the acne treatment. The great thing is that I have to use less foundation now that my skin looks better, that's why I've been using the Elf Studio Powder Brush to apply a thinner layer of foundation.

Hey my darlings! I was thinking yesterday that before we know it Spring will be here and pastel colors are always in for Spring. I like the look of pastel colors, they're pretty and cute, but they look horrible on me in any form : makeup, clothes, nail polish. They wash me out completely! As well as frosty colors (icy queen look), which are in for winter, they make me look like I'm not alive lol!

Haul : Flormar goodies

Hey girls! How are you today? It's really cold here in Athens, so I hope you're somewhere warm! :) As I mentioned in a previous post all the members of the Greek Beauty Bloggers that attended the 1st meeting were sent a goodie bag from Flormar Greece. Just a few words about Flormar, because I know some of you may have never heard of this brand before or don't know much about it : Flormar was founded in 1970 in Milan and as far as I know they've moved their headquarters to Turkey and most, if not all, of their products are made there. In Greece you can find them in quite a few spots (check their facebook fanpage). In Athens in particular you can find them at Avenue mall and they recently opened their own store in Ag. Greek Beauty Bloggers 1st Meeting

I’m extremely late with this, but better late than never! On October 15^th (I told you I’m late lol) Greek Beauty Bloggers met in person for the first time. The meeting took place at Flocafe at The Mall Athens in Marousi. I was so nervous, as I hadn’t met any of the girls in person before. Thank God everything turned out well and we actually had a great time.

Flormar Greece wanted to attend the meeting as well, but couldn’t make it. Hopefully they’ll be able to make it next time, because we all want to meet them in person. Anyway, although they didn’t make it to the meeting, they still sent us a goodie bag at home after a few days, wow!! I totally didn’t expect that! Thank you Flormar Greece! Katerina, who represented Julia from beautyblog.gr , brought some presents for us as well. It felt like early Christmas!

During the week, when the meeting took place, me and my parents were painting my bedroom, so I had no idea where my stuff was (cosmetics, clothes, flatiron etc.) and apart from that I barely had time to get ready, because we had to finish painting my closet. Did you use glitter last night and although you removed your makeup, you still have glitter on your face? Don’t panic! Get a piece of scotch tape and gently press it on the areas, where you have the glitter particles. They will stick to the scotch tape! J

I know it's such a cliche, but I really want to thank you for the love and support you've shown to me and my blog, especially from the past summer 'til now, you simply can't imagine how much it meant to me the fact that some of you sent me e-mails and messages asking about my friend, who was in the ER, and supporting me in general. I LOVE YOU, I really do!!

I hope 2012 will be an exciting year, I think we all need that! If you're in a difficult situation, please don't give up. Things will get better! :) It might take you some time, but it will get better, trust me. Oh and one last thing.. show your loved ones that you love them and tell them that you love them everyday! :)

Review : Apivita Balancing Shampoo for very oily hair

I recently placed an order with Pharmapoli and since I have extremely oily hair I “have” to try several different shampoos in order to find the one that works for me. I’ve heard nice things about Apivita’s Propoline Balancing Shampoo for Very Oily Hair with Peppermint & Propolis, so I went ahead and got it.

Let’s start with the packaging as always! This shampoo comes in a simple dark brown plastic bottle that holds 250ml (8.5 fl.oz) of product. The bottle is pretty basic, there’s nothing super fancy about it, but I think it’s cute anyway and I like the fact that I can see how much product I have left, since it’s see through . Here’s what it looks like :

The shampoo is clear and quite thick, so you don’t need to use a lot of product. It has a nice, fresh scent thanks to the peppermint that it contains. I have to wash my hair everyday, but I don’t use this shampoo everyday. It’s not a harsh shampoo, but still.. I don’t want to completely strip my hair. I use it about 4 times a week and it works really well, without irritating my scalp. It controls oiliness and it deep cleans my hair, leaving it lightweight, soft and shiny. No, it’s not a miracle product, it won’t allow me to wash every other day (I’d wish lol), but it keeps my super oily hair in a decent condition for longer than other shampoos.

Another great thing about this shampoo that I’d like to point out is that it’s made with 81% natural ingredients and it does NOT contain the following bad stuff : parabens, silicones, mineral oil, propylene glycol, ethanolamines, colorants, phthalates, polycyclic musks, nitromusks. Wait, there’s more lol! The shampoo is contained in a recycled PET bottle, which is a huge plus for me, as I recycle like crazy and I totally support recycling.

I got my bottle from Pharmapoli for €9.70, but of course you can get this shampoo in most pharmacies that sell Apivita products. I think it’s totally worth the money, because it does control the oiliness to some extend. I recently tried another shampoo for very oily hair from a different brand (review coming soon), which was much smaller (200ml) and more expensive than Apivita (almost €12) and it didn’t work as well as this one. So, I will definitely repurchase this amazing shampoo by Apivita.

Hey my darlings! I hope you're all in the festive mood. I know I am, as I finally decorated for Christmas last night (yeah I'm super late lol). Anyway, I have a pharmacy haul for you from my favorite online pharmacy called Pharmapoli. Once a year I place a pretty big order with Pharmapoli and I get my basics, for example face wash, moisturizer, shampoo etc., so that I don't have to worry about running out of my basics, plus I get better deals that way. This is one of those hauls, here's what I got :

As you can see the prices are lower than a typical pharmacy and the big bottle of La Roche Posay Effaclar face wash is a great deal, as you save around €7.50 in comparison to the small bottle that contains half the amount of product (200ml). I'm really happy with my purchases and according to the amount of money I spent I will have a €7.29 discount for my next order woohoooo!! Have you tried these products and if so what do you think of them? If you haven't tried them, are they on your wishlist maybe? I'm waiting for your comments! I love pharmacy brands, as I have oily/sensitive skin and very oily hair, so I can't really use drugstore brands. Plus I can find lovely makeup items (Korres) there, so that's a bonus! lol

First Impressions : Garnier BB Cream

I recently received the Garnier BB Cream in 2 shades, Light and Medium, and since my skin has been freaking out lately because of the acne treatment I'm on, I haven't been able to use the BB Cream enough to do a review, so I'll let you know about my First Impressions of it.

If you have decent skin, all you need is this BB cream and a little bit of concealer and you're done! It leaves your skin with a natural finish, so it won't make you look like a discoball, but it won't mattify you either. With an SPF of 15 it also offers you some sun protection as well. So far I'm loving it! The only thing that could bother some people (it doesn't bother me) is the scent, like some other girls have already said it has the typical Garnier scent, so if you're sensitive to scents you might wanna give it a sniff before buying it. I think it's already available at Hondos Center in Greece! ;) Have you already used this BB Cream? What do you think of it?

QOTW 41 : How many lip products in your handbag?

I know many women usually carry around tons of lip products either because they like variety or because they leave lip products from previous days in their handbag, so they end up carrying around with them half of their lip products collection! I'm not a huge lip balm/lip gloss/lipstick fan, I mean yes I will apply my lipstick when I'm doing my makeup, but I almost never bother to re-apply when I'm out and about. Lately I've been carrying a lip balm with me, because for some strange reason my lips have become a little bit dry, and usually my lip balm of choice is Garnier Repair in the tube with the red cap. Pretty moisturizing and not greasy, which I hate.

So, if I could open your handbag now, how many lip products would I find in it? lol I'm really curious to read your answers!

QOTW 40 : Do you use facial toners?

You know the drill : cleanse, tone, moisturize. But how many of us follow this routine? I don't! I find that toners do nothing for me (I have oily combination skin), so there's no need to buy and use an extra product. I just cleanse and moisturize and my skin is fine. Sometimes I use plain rosewater to refresh my skin or to remove any last traces of makeup, so I guess you could say that I use a natural toner.

What about you? Do you use toners? If so, how often and which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below! :)

I got 2 of them, Fishnet Stockings and Berry Hard, but I've also heard that Merino Cool is included in the 11 shades and I want it.

First Impressions : Kerastase Bain Oleo-Relax Smoothing Shampoo

I got a sample of this shampoo from a magazine quite some time ago and since my mom hadn't used it all this time I thought I would use it and get rid of the bottle., because I hate clutter. Kerastase is a really famous brand and therefore I was really excited to try this shampoo, especially since my hair is really frizzy. However I was disappointed, it did nothing for my hair! The scent was nice, but other than that I didn't like it. I didn't see any difference, my hair was still frizzy like I had used a regular, cheap shampoo from the drugstore and I used this shampoo twice. Definitely not impressed with it, will not buy full size.

Have you tried this shampoo? What was your experience with it?

If your eyelashes are stick straight and your curl doesn’t last, use waterproof mascaras, because they’re not so wet and therefore they make your curl last longer. You can also use a heated eyelash curler or heat up your regular eyelash curler with your blowdryer, just make sure that your curler gets just warm and not hot!

I used to be afraid of false eyelashes until a few months ago, I thought that they would look super fake on me and that I wouldn't know how to put them on, but I was wrong! It only takes a little bit of practice and patience, nothing more. Plus there are so many tutorials on youtube on how to put on false eyelashes that it's pretty hard to fail. So, I love wearing false eyelashes on special occasions and my favorite ones are the quite natural ones, I feel like the quite thick and long ones look super fake (unless you have pretty big eyes).

So, do you wear false eyelashes? If so, which ones are your favorites? You can even mention a specific brand and style if you want. If not, what holds you back from trying them? You don't know what you're missing!! In most cases false eyelashes complete the look and open up your eyes.

After you’re done with applying your foundation, do some downward motions with your brush/sponge/fingers to put down any facial hairs that you might have lifted during the foundation application. Your skin will look smoother that way! J
