Yes I took last week off for Thanksgiving - BLOW ME!

This is what I learned while away:

1. Welcome to the neighborhood Brian and Jenn.

2. Hoffy Xmas party has been moved from the 20th to the 13th. So if you want to come sit on Santa's lap (Derek's) that's where the magic happens.

3. Chrissy all of a sudden at 48 years of age, found out he likes Italian subs.

4. 22 days till Christmas and I am halfway done with my shopping. This is a first.

6. Are we on this push for the Pats to make the Super Bowl or nah?

7. Went to the doctors last week, I got the Bel Biv Devoe's!

Yes it is now the time of year when everything is a blur - Halloween, Thanksgiving, Xmas and New years all blur togethers and suddenly it is 2026!

This is what I learned while away:

1. Shhh you didn't hear this from me but Chris Leaden has a minor stake in the Charlie Horse...who knew?

2. Congrats to Andrew and Ryann for making it through the academy and now on the Quincy Police force.

3. This will be the 1st time in 25 years that I am off on Thanksgiving. Lets Party!

4. Trying out that Uber One life. So far so good.

5. Predator Badlands was great. Has anyone watched the Running Man yet?

6. Julian may try out for the high school team next year.

7. The new Big Shake from Shake Shack was fire! (Also pretty sure I could eat a burger every day).

8. I do not understand sneakerheads. Is it an investment because you like the look of a certain shoe or just want to collect something.

9. John Cena retires at the end of this year...Its been a great run.

10. I have been trying to bring back "No shit Sherlock" when people say something stupid.

11. Also 120 small Slim Jims for $25 seemed like a great deal until you are eating them all the time for snacks.

12. When people order a N/A beer at the bar is it to be social or because they like the taste of beer?

13. Sad to hear that 16C in Quincy is closing.

This is what I learned this weekend:

1. Fucking Chris Leaden will be 50 on January, 11th! You know I love a good party.

2. Apparently when you turn 50 you are more susceptible to getting Vertigo. (Watch out Big boy).

3. What would cause you to move from Massachusetts? I think a terrible horrible winter would be the straw for me.

4. January 10th is one of those rare days where the Bruins play early at home and they change the ice over for the Celtics to play later in the day.

5. Congrats to Coach J and Julian on their 3rd trip to the Super bowl in 4 years...maybe this is the year. See ya on the Cape Sunday morning!

6. HOLY SHIT TK is looking for a new car. Lets hope its at least an SUV.

Halloween is Friday! That means parties and candy and someone spiking the punch.

This is what I learned while away:

1. No one is as miserable as Chris Leaden working 2 jobs.

2. You do not want to roll your ankle over the age of 40! I mean that shit hurts.

3. I see Joey Martell is back on his bullshit. Going out and drinking hard Monday through Thursday but no where to be seen Friday through Sunday.

4. People get spoken to at work, for whatever reason, and just quit at the end of the week? Is this the new normal?

5. It seems like the seasonal change over is no longer a gradual thing but more of an on/off switch.

6. Florida v Georgia is this Saturday in Jacksonville - then it takes a 2 year hiatus as they renovate the Jaguars stadium - Next year in Atlanta and the following year in Tamps. I have plans to get to at least one if not both of those games. You can take the name away but you cant take the Worlds Largest Outdoor cocktail party away from us. Also see you at the bar this Saturday - IYKYK!

7. The Hoffy now has BBQ Wednesday through Saturdays - Black Creek BBQ.

8. The Table Mercarto sandwich is a top tier sandwich and probably the best I have ever had. I know I have said that before but shit that sandy slaps!

9. Less than 2 months away from Christmas. Even closer yet is my stint as Santa on December 21st.

10. Julian's last home football game/Jeffreys last coaching gig at home is this Saturday in Hull, 11:30 am. Win and they move on.

11. Crockpot season is upon us. Just ask Chrissy who uses filet mignon for beef stew.

12. Auntie Annies pretzel nuggets are now on sale in your freezer section - with the cinnamon sugar.

13. People are actively rooting against the Dodgers and for the Blue Jays! How you hating on Ohtani?

14. Celtics and Bruins flat out stink. Both are a barely watchable product. Joe Missoula doesn't seem to know how to make in game adjustments - Just Shoot the 3. Marco Sturm does he know he is coaching in the NHL and not the AHL?

I know some of you checked and I hadn't posted yet. You thought I forgot. I didn't, just a little busy with work. MacPhail takes a whole week off to get his chimney lined...like what the fuck dude.

This is what I learned recently:

1. The Dunkin donuts by my house no longer carries any coconut, butternut, lemon, jelly or vanilla cream. Not sure if this is all Dunks but that lady rattled em off like it was my fault.

2. People wear sun shirts in the water? I thought that they were just lounging by the pool or in the sand but you take them off to go in the water?

3. When the beers are so cold that they hurt your back teeth...thats a good bar.

4. TK just turned 70 on Monday, the countdown is on till he retires. Who is setting the over under?

5. Julian and Coach J won their first game of the season in a monsoon. This week is their 1st home game down at Hull High 11:30 am Sunday morning.

6. Don't look now but I survived week 1 of the NFL suicide pool. That has only happened twice in the past 10 years.

7. Chris Leaden is making homemade hot sauces - if anyone is interested hit him up.

8. Thanks to Mark Welch I finally found a company for the kitchen remodel. Prayers up!

9. Also appliances are fucking expensive. Heaven forbid you want a microwave drawer. One that doesn't sit on the counter or over the stove as a hood. Eat shit!

10. Week one of fantasy is in the books and If I haven't said it already. I hate my team.

...and so are some of you. I apologize there were vacations, end of summer cookouts, Vegas, weekend overnight shifts and fantasy drafts. But here we go again starting anew in September.

This is what I learned while away for a bit:

1. Reese doesn't eat ass and never will. Not even drunk.

2. Leaden never has a loaded gun...if ya catch my drift.

3. Chrissy killed his dress. There were people giving him a standing O while walking through the bar.

4. Speaking of bars - I highly recommend Brew Dogs in Vegas.

5. I know they are talking about Vegas being dead but I jut didn't see it. You can tell they are Nickle and Diming everyone with the high costs of things but hell it was pretty busy. Maybe that was the Backstreet Boys at the Sphere, who knows.

6. The best service I have ever had was at Bavettes is Park MGM. Steak was pretty killer too.

7. Have you ever been on a plane with barely any AC? The worst fucking thing this side of a mayonnaise sandwich.

8. NUTRL'S are my new go too. Not as carbonated as the High Noon's. Don't sleep on the lemonades.

9. Who knew finding a contractor for a kitchen reno would be so daunting.

10. Started Alien Earth very chaotic.

11. How do places have Labor Day sales yet not be open so I can shop?

12. I am at the age where my friends children are all going into high school and man does that make me feel old.

13. You know what they say - Vertigo, Scorpio, Bell Biv Devoe - be careful out there with the Vertigos - fall down go boom.

14. Never go on vacation with motherfuckers that don't eat. I am way to fat to be eating once a day. You know I get Hangry.

15. So just like that summer is gone? I went away and it was 90's I come back to 68-75's? What in the actual fuck. What happened to global warming?

16. Football season kicks off Thursday - you know what that means. Fantasy football season is back. Lets fucking roll.

17. Can we just talk about Powerball being 1.3 Billion dollars? Where do you go and hide when that windfall comes down?

18. Anything over 100 degrees is trash. Everyone was all like yeah Vegas is a dry heat. MY BALLS! When you are at the pool and its 114 it is not for me.

19. Peacemaker season 2 is off to a rough start. Hopefully it picks up.

1. I guess drunk Derek and sober Derek dont talk. Because I volunteered to be Santa at the Hoffy Xmas party.

3. Speaking of Vegas, I guess the 1st full meal is at Bavette's. Hopefully they have some of those bone in filets still available.

4. You cannot pound beers at the beach if all you have had to eat all day is a fucking muffin.

5. Hey Dunks, what is up with the Cajun hashbrowns wake up wrap? TRASH!

6. I do not think that I can afford $137,500 for a new kitchen. Thats one quote so far.

7. People are riding this Patriots team high huh? One preseason game in.

8. It appears as though everyone is drinking tequila this summer.

9. Joe Martell plans to go to Masons steak house once every 2 weeks. Thats a little too rich for my blood.

10. Over/Under on the number of times Chrissy passes out from a combo of heat exhaustion/lack of food/gummies - current set at 2.

11. If you have nothing to do next Saturday, August 23rd. We will be at here for our fantasy draft. We can always use a board guy.

What I learned since last week -

1. Mason's Steak house in Quincy is pretty good.

2. Happy Gilmore 2 was a complete waste of my time - solid D- of a movie.

3. I attempted to make chocolate chip cookies for my first time. I may have used too much sea salt but overall B.

4. It should be a crime to have a 70th birthday party on a Sunday night.

5. If its this hot and humid up here all summer long why haven't we moved south yet?

6. SHHHHH I think Chris Leaden recently had the Covid, I had no clue that was still a thing.

7. I have never liked mushrooms but recently had some smoked wood fired ones and let me tell you...slice of heaven.

8. It is official everyone is going to Darius Rucker. Hell Chrissy is going to a preconcert cookout before.

9. TSA precheck registration is quick and easy. Not sure why more people don't do it.

10. Boats and drinking on docks are just not for me.

11. One of the more frustrating parts of being and adult is always trying to plan your weekly dinners.

12. High Tide at Nantasket Flatts has BBQ beef ribs on Saturdays only and let me tell you they are bomb as fuck.

After almost 2 years I finally spoke to Jason Foley. He is alive, not going to Vegas but he is alive.

This is what I learned this weekend:

1. I witnessed someone who was probably 23 try to sign their tab in cursive and I think a bit of my mind melted. As a guy whose name begins with a D it was the wildest configuration of trying to make it look like a D ever.

Its been a minute between working crazy hours, this insane heat of this summer and well ya know vacation and benders.

This is what I learned while away(I guess for over a fucking month):

1. People either love or don't care for Aruba. There does not seem to be a middle ground.

2. Sorry but the Sox band wagon is full at this time.

3. Sean Riccio is no where to be found. Text the dude and he's in another state/fucking country.

4. Vegas is about a month away. Feel free to show up August 21-25th. I may or may not personally spontaneously combust while out there.

5. Congrats to Mike Foley on his first course championship in 31 years! You see him on the streets he owes you a club championship beer. I am going to bronze mine.

6. Head on a swivel people Lyme Disease is high this year. Ticks are not your friends.

7. Congrats to Julie Nickerson and her hubby on buying their new home.

8. Lets hope Julian and the rest of Hingham baseball team can keep their winning streak going this weekend...down in Delaware, where they play in a regional tournament after winning their state division. One step closer to Williamsport.

9. Dierks Bentley is a very nice down home dude. He has a new bourbon coming out Row 94. I thought it was pretty smooth when he let us sample it.

10. Quincy Porchfest was a hit. I mean walking around drinking beers on the street and listening to bands is and always has been my jam.

11. Man Chris Leaden may have officially become a betting MUSH. Like a 100% fade.

13. Milwaukee is a pretty good city. I would love to go back for a Celtics/Bucks game.

14. The Miller Brewery/Miller Valley is a huge area. I loved the tour and the history 10/10.

15. I have eaten at some good places at Encore but Seamark has been my favorite so far.

16. Trying to get to the Georgia vs Alabama game in September.

17. I have said that I am not a huge fan of remakes but the new Running man looks awesome.

18. Fuck Tommy Bahama beach chairs. I had one for 10 years and it fucked (like on the 1st date sex) and it eventually broke so I replaced it end of last summer. The new one didn't even last me half this summer.

19. The Patriots kick off training camp is less than a week away. (Maybe you Sox band wagoneers can hit the Pats up early).

20. If you do ever make it out to Milwaukee make sure you go to the Harley Davidson museum. Lots of cool ass shit. Just don't mention to the locals that Harleys aren't made in America anymore. They do not like that.

21. I love random bars that have slot machines.

22. I will have you know that I was less than 1 mile from a casino and never stepped inside. Small victory.

23. Watch out world Chrissy is investing lots and lots into cards. Just don't ask him about his Wander Franco's (sore subject).

24. Would you prefer to go away for Thanksgiving or the week after Christmas?

25. I will say that Superman is a very comic booky movie. Like it feels like you picked up a comic and the action starts right away and there is so much to focus on.

Well I'm guessing that the things I learned from guy is taking June off for pride so I needed to add a quick food review to break up that DEI nonsense. I stopped by McDonald's for the first time in years to try these latest chicken creations. Getting a lot of hype and from the first glance I can see why. Breading looks nice and flavorful. I took the first bite and thought these things should have been called the McRubbery Strips. So disappointed. Maybe it was a bad batch but I can only score what I'm eating. I give it a 4.6! Seasoning was decent and the new chili sauce was good but that chicken was just not good at all.

1. Wendy's is now using AI at their drive up windows. I hate it.

2. I've said it before and ill say it again Dunkin Donuts is the most consistent inconsistent place.

3. HK Dave and his girl friend are starting a Cross fit spot of their own.

4. Speaking of HK Dave he is not going to make it to Vegas for the draft.

5. Mobland is a crazy show. I mean Tom Hardy rocks.

7. Chrissy is going to Post Malone and Jelly roll Saturday...tailgates up.

8. Joey is still trying to have a pig roast this year at some point.

10. Big Ts MRI came back clean so he just has to clean up his act.

11. Fantasy football season 20 has been renewed for 2025.

12. Lamb is either really good or really bad there is no in between.

Yes, I didn't blog last week because it was a holiday week and the Tourney started so I was off Thursday and Friday.

This is what I learned while away:

1. Another year another parade in the books and no show by Riccio again!

2. It felt great to be back watching the NCAA tournament at a bar at noon.

3. This younger generation not really being into driving is wild. I remember having a countdown day till I could apply for my permit. Now they are scared to drive on the Hi-way.

4. Cain Valasques getting 5 years for a shooting is bullshit, he should have gotten a commendation and a hero award.

5. I've been betting a lot of Women's NCAA tournament unders. Hits more often than not.

6. Have you seen this documentary trailer coming out this year? Secret Mall Apartment...can't wait.

7. Darius Rucker selling out his show in Quincy in seconds was just beyond fucked.

8. The Free Jacks game was pretty awesome. I learned tons about the sport. I bet it live as soon as on older Irish Fella started explaining the rules to me. Also $5.00 16 oz cans of beer is not bad at all.

9. Speaking of beer prices Fowler house beers are now $6.00.

10. Sox opener is Thursday at 4:05, kicking off the season in Texas versus our old friend Nate Evoldi. I am surprisingly looking forward to watching more games this season.

11. I do not understand how people can eat cottage cheese - here is some lumpy nasty ass cousin of milk product.

It looks like the weather is finally breaking. The grass is turning green. Flowers are starting to sprout. Lets fucking go.

This is the shit I learned this past week:

1. Daylight savings is for the birds. Fuck this shit.

2. It is almost time to swap out them winter coats for something a little bit lighter.

3. Don't forget Mikey's St Patty's parade in Scituate this Sunday. Make sure you reach out to see what you can bring.

4. The polar Vortex isn't going to making an appearance this weekend but it is sending its cousin rain.

5. Not sure who tries out more new shit on their menu - Taco Bell or Wendy's. Them mother fuckers have zero fucks - just throwing things at the wall and see what sticks.

I usually don't complain about winter but this is the coldest one I can remember in recent years. I'd just like it to get to 40 consistently.

1. The Captain America movie is a C+. Not sure it needed to be made and Sam is a better side character than actual star.

I was off on Monday so today is like my Tuesday!
