The Pig Rig is essentially a BBQ restaurant on wheels. This 30 foot trailer features two Stump’s Smokers, a Viking grill and gas range, fridge, freezer, four sinks, power generator, five HD flat screens, and a 20 ft. inflatable screen. Most people don’t have houses outfitted with that much equipment. Theoretically you could get one of these customized by Horton Haulers for your own personal tailgating needs. If that’s a luxury you can afford you probably also tailgate outside the football team’s weight room or practice facility that bears your family name. For the rest of us, we can just hire Que N View for one huge tailgating blowout a year. If you have a huge group of tailgaters hiring Que N View to cater is certainly the easiest way to feed the masses. And then of course there’s also the wow factor of the trailer.

I met the owner of the Pig Rig, Charlie Hellem, because he was the instructor for my BBQ Basics cooking class at the Viking Store. Charlie has won several rib competitions and is a really cool, laid back, and knowledgeable teacher. Whether you want to take your first steps into smoking meats or just want to brush up on some grilling basics, this class can help. At $90 it’s a bit steep, but I’d also say that I ate about 2 pounds of meat and had 4-5 beers which would cost you $35-50 at a restaurant. It’s not a bad gift to ask for from a mother or wife. So if you live within an hour or two of Atlanta I suggest checking out renting the trailer or taking a grilling class.

Apparently P. Diddy has a new contract to promote Ciroc Vodka which is infused with french grapes. This is generally something I wouldn’t give a damn about. But when the man of many names happens to be doing promotions at my liquor store of choice, I take notice. - I noticed this on Friday at the store and once again looking through the pictures. It’s weird how many of the employees I recognize. If nothing else, this is a bad sign for my financial well being and my liver.

- I imagine that P. Diddy also makes many of his liquor decisions based on price like i do. Though that would be for totally different reasons. Sean John probably leans towards the most expensive thing he can find. I however keep a log on my phone of the different prices at stores all over town.

- Does Mr. Combs tip the guys who help bring out a keg, boxes, ices, etc. to your car? For some reason this never occurred to me until recently and now I feel like a cheap bastard.

- Is Ciroc a really bland vodka that’s based on marketing not taste and profits off it’s connections with a now discontinued top shelf vodka?

Women’s Shorts and Skirts

What you rarely see is the second photo that reveals that one girl is actually wearing a black Texas Tech jersey. Neither logo appears to be photoshopped. So what’s going on here? Are either of them fans or did they just grab matching red and black jerseys at the store? Are they an apartment divided? Do they make flags or license plates for that?

Foodthinkers.com has a good recipe for a Mediterranean Sandwich that you can prepare at home and then heat up on the grill for an easy tailgating solution. After ignoring it for most of my life, I’ve recently realized that few things go better with beer than salami. A lower quality salami gets you a fair amount for $3-5 and is still tasty enough to do the trick. You’ll probably need to find an Italian market to pick up the bread and specialty cheese.

Mediterranean Sandwich

Ingredients

1 Turkish bread cut into 6 equal sections
butter
18 slices of genoa salami
6 bocconcini (Buffalo Mozzarella), sliced
1 cup pesto sauce
1 cup cherry tomatoes cut in half
Olive Oil

Directions

Cut the bread sections through the center and set aside the top halves. Lightly butter the inside of both halves. Divvy up the salami, bocconcini, pesto, and tomatoes evenly among the sandwiches. Put the tops on and wrap. Put in the fridge if they’re for a future date.

Once you’re tailgating, rub olive oil on both sides of the sandwich. Put it on the grill and heat each side long enough to the let the cheese melt a little and get the bread warm and toasty.

The second app is also free and called College Football Live. What I like about this app is the quick ability to create a list of your favorite teams. Which we all know is who you bet on that Saturday. So instead of sifting through the top 25 and then trying to remember what conference UTEP is in, you can just create a list of the 5-6 games you’ve got action on. This is the fastest way to check only the scores you care about once you get inside the stadium. Which is an issue since most of the stadiums I’ve been to have significantly slower than usual connections.

In theory the Portopong table makes sense. It’s easy to transport and could open the game up for playing in a pool. But personally I have a problem with any beer pong table that has fitted cup holders. It simply makes the game too easy. Heavy cups or slotted positions make the sides of the playing cups too rigid and thus simple to make a shot. So I’m giving it a no dice for tailgating purposes. If you were playing in a pool or lake this advantage would cancel out the movement of the table due to waves. Though we haven’t personally tried out this product we’re mentioning them here because if you purchase one of their pink tables they will donate $5 to the Keep A Breast Foundation. The tables are $50.
