I’m glad to announce a brand new Creative Photography Workshop for the Cape Town Area. My aim is to show you some of the things I have learned over the years, help you sharpen your creativity and give your business a boost. Here are the necessary information and the provisional programme for the workshop over the two day period.

Date: 24th-25th of May 2012

Venue: Langverwagt, Kuilsriver, Cape Town

Cost: R 3 500, includes lunch for both days plus tea/coffee & snacks during the day

You need: Something to write/type on, Digital SLR, Lenses and basic knowledge on photography

Competition Terms & Conditions:

1) Bookings for workshop closes on the 21st of May.

2) There are only 11 spots at the workshop. First 11 people to register and pay the deposit will stand a chance to win the price.

3) The decision will be made by a panel of group involved in the workshop.

4) Once an decision by the group the winner will be contacted. The decision of the group is final and can not be changed.

5) The deposit of the person who has chosen by group as the winner, will receive their full deposit back.

5) The winner can attend the workshop for free. In return he/she must help to photograph behind the scene photos on the day and also assist Du Wayne Denton during the 2 days.

Mervyn & Liza celebrated their beautiful wedding day at La Colombe Restaurant in Constantia Uitsig. Besides her interior decorating, Liza is also a professional model. Her natural beauty and her wonderful personality really made it easy to capture great photos of her. The ceremony took place infront of the main house where two big tall trees stood tall. Thanks alot to Theo Schmeisser for assisting me on the day. Thank you Liza & Mervyn for making it really easy photographing the two of you. Alan & Erin’s wedding took place at the Simon’s Restaurant at Groot Constantia. Alan is originally from South Africa. He move to the States a few years ago where he met the love of his life, Erin. They decided on a beautiful vineyard wedding in the Cape. Friends and family from all over came to celebrate this day with them. On this stunning Summers day, they exchange their vows on the lawn. The venue at Simon’s Restaurant was transformed into a stunning reception area with beautiful flower decorating the tables. Candice Rodriguez assisted me at this wedding. This wedding was coordinated by Lisa Schoeman from Talk Functions. Thank you Erin & Alan for the opportunity to photographed your wedding day. I truly enjoyed every moment of it. Wedding | Wildekloof, Stilbaai | Nic & Nina

Another solo road trip to Stilbaai to photograph Nic & Nina’s beautiful wedding day. Nic’s father has a beautiful house in Wildekloof, situated on a hill overlooking the Goukou River. With big marque tent and beautiful decorations, this house was transformed into the perfect venue for Nic & Nina’s wedding. After a beautiful ceremony, the couple lead the guest down to the river where everyone enjoyed a drink and some great music from the band. Nina wore pink Wellington boots and Nic had navy blue sneakers which brought something unique to their special day. Something I will never forget is Nic’s brother (the MC) dressing up as a horse and entertaining the guest during the speeches. The words “TIMMY” still rings in my ears. Here are a brief look at their beautiful wedding day.

Dawie & Anma celebrated their wedding day at the beautiful L’Ormarins Wine Farm in the Franschoek area. Dawie is the wine maker at L’ormarins & Anma is a ballet teacher. Anma and her bridal party got ready at the La Couronne house at Graham Beck. Their ceremony in the small Dutch Reformed Church in Simondium. Rice Crispies were used as confetti to shower the newly weds as they exited the church. There were so many awesome spots on the farm to photograph the couple but my favourite was the on top of the cellar. The way the structure was build and its architecture, made me fell in love with the cellar. When we got back to the reception the guests by two ballet dancers. This reminded me again of my time in Russia. Dance is such a wonderful thing and to photograph the essence of it is tricky. Big thank you to Christelle Rall for assisting me at the wedding. Lara & Lloyd celebrated their wedding day at the beautiful Vindoux Guest Farm in Tulbagh. I was so excited when I heard that the theme for their wedding is Tim Burton. Movies have always been one of my sources for drawing inspiration and I surely love Tim Burton’s work. Lisa Schoeman from Talk Functions was the coordinator that brought their ideas to life. The ceremony started at noon followed by a picnic lunch on the lawn. The Lara and her father walked down the isle on the song from Nightmare before Christmas, “This is Halloween”. Board game and playing cards was placed on table at the picnic area for the guest to have some play with during the afternoon. Lara & Lloyd’s three dogs was also part of the guest list. Snoekie, one of three dogs, only has three legs after loosing one leg in a car accident. But boy… he moves and jumps like he have four. Incredible!

On the other side of the vineyard, big marque tent was setup for the reception later that evening. Each table was named after a character out of Tim Burton’s movies. Two bands rocked out on stage later that evening while the guest got down on the dance floor and boogied. This was one crazy yet relaxed wedding day that I loved to photograph.
