Bob Mould in conversation with Michael Azerrad City Arts & Lectures - San Francisco, CA Bob Mould in conversation with Michael AzerradBob Mould is one of the most influential figures in modern music. He formed the trio Hüsker Dü in 1979, and started playing some of the loudest, fastest music ever recorded. Over the span of a few short years, primary songwriter Mould transformed Hüsker Düs music into something more complex, adding tuneful melody to their fast-paced sound. It is widely accepted that Hüsker Dü was the key influence on alternative rock, with bands from Nirvana to the Pixies citing their impact. Hüsker Dü was also the first American independent band to cross over to a major label, and their traumatic experience with Warner Brothers served as a warning for the indie bands that followed. Mould then formed the group Sugar, an alternative rock force in the mid-nineties. In the late nineties he started experimenting with electronica, and continues to make appearances as a DJ in the Washington D.C. area. A pioneer in the landscape of modern music, Bob Mould was one of the first openly gay American musicians and he continues to be an outspoken gay rights advocate.Michael Azerrad is a preeminent rock critic whose feature articles have appeared in Spin, Musician, Details, and Rolling Stone, where he is a contributing editor. - City Arts & Lectures

Entre la humedad de sus paredes comienzan a componer temas de punk y hard-core melódico en la estela de Samiam, Bad Religion, No FX o Snuff. Sus componentes son Dulze (voz), Dani (batería), Goyo (guitarra) y Miguel Angel (bajo). Su onomástica alude tanto a los tejados de las favelas brasileñas como al componente químico tan presente y fundamental en el cuerpo humano. Una denominación que casa bien con su espíritu underground. Su bagaje previo se puede rastrear en bandas como Mal Gusto, Tocadiscos Humano, SDO 100 % V o Los del Yopo, combos en los que habían participado Goyo y Miguel Angel (Adicto). Participan junto a UFO Volador (guitarrista de Humbert Humbert) en el disco recopilatorio del festival de cine fantástico de Gijón Freaks from Outer Space (Subterfuge) bajo el nombre de Randolph Carter. Tras algunas maquetas caseras de local, su primer disco de homónimo título se graba en 1998 en los estudios Reactor de Madrid. Producido por Moncho Campa (Aerobitch, Redshift, Like Peter At Home), el álbum contiene temas como El Hombre Elefante, Yo Mismo o El Sueño del Mono Cuerdo, exhalaciones eléctricas repletas de melodías, guitarras rocosas y adrenalina. Incluye además una contundente revisión de I´ll never forget you de Hüsker Dü. El trabajo no ve su aparición hasta 1999 en el sello capitalino Rumble Records. También graban un video-clip de la canción Yo Mismo. Sus enérgicos conciertos les llevan a compartir escenario junto a Wipe Out Skaters, Ketchoop, Marshcrannies, Spandau Bullet, Mob, Rabia Positiva, Twenty Years Old, Ratos de Porao... Dwight Yoakam est un chanteur et compositeur de musique country, acteur, producteur, réalisateur et scénariste américain né le 23 octobre 1956 à Pikeville, Kentucky (États-Unis. Career When he began his career, Nashville was oriented toward pop "Urban Cowboy" music, and Yoakam's brand of Bakersfield Honky Tonk music was not considered marketable. Yoakam's vision of bringing traditional, Honky Tonk or "Hillbilly" music (as he himself called it) forward into the 1980s wasn't fully realized until he teamed up with lead guitarist and Producer Pete Anderson. While Yoakam wrote most of his songs himself, Anderson had a hand in arranging the songs and shaping their direction, as well as determining their ultimate sound as producer. Pete grew up in Detroit, Michigan, where his family had moved North to find work in the Michigan auto factories, a similar move to Yoakam's family's migration North from Kentucky. In Detroit, Pete picked up Blues guitar, being influenced by local Blues guitarists like John Lee Hooker. Having diverged from pop-icon status in country-western fare, Yoakam is today more likely to be identified as having an older, more traditional style. But along with his bluegrass and honky-tonk roots, Yoakam has written or covered many Elvis Presley-style rockabilly songs, including his popular covers of Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" in 1999 and Presley's "Suspicious Minds" in 1992. He recorded a cover of the Clash's "Train in Vain" in 1997, as well as Cheap Trick's "I Want You to Want Me". Yoakam has never been associated only with Country music; on many early tours, he played with Hardcore Punk bands like Hüsker Dü, and, as noted above, played many shows around L.A. with Roots/Punk/Rock & Roll acts. His middle-period-to-later records saw him branching out to different styles, covering Rock & Roll, Punk, 60's, Blues-based "Boogie" like Z.Z. Top, and writing more adventurous songs like the almost cinematic "A Thousand Miles From Nowhere".
