&lt;p&gt;Visitor numbers broke the Dubai Airshow record with 56,548 people attending, making the 12&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt; edition of the Dubai Airshow the biggest as well as the most colourful yet, as the halls, pavilions and chalets displayed the colours of the UAE national flag in celebration of the nation&amp;rsquo;s 40&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt; anniversary in two weeks&amp;rsquo; time on 2 December.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Florida-based Spirit Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for 75 Airbus A320 family jets &amp;ndash; 45 A320neo (new engine option) and 30 A320 aircraft. The MoU should be converted into a firm order by the end of the year. The deal is valued at US$7 billion.&lt;/p&gt;
