All Said And Done, the latest chapter from Hieroglyphics, is now available! This is the third official full-length album from the legendary Oakland, California super-crew. You can listen via streaming, vinyl, and CD editions (links below). The album features a hand-drawn cover by Shomari Smith.

Hieroglyphics is a renowned hip-hop collective, including Casual, Souls Of Mischief (A-Plus, Opio, Phesto, Tajai), Del The Funky Homosapien, Domino, DJ Toure, and Pep Love.

Recorded over nine months in 2025, All Said And Done is the first official release from Hieroglyphics since their 2013 mixtape The Kitchen. The album is fully self-produced, with production by A-Plus, Domino, DJ Toure, and contributions from multi-instrumentalist Jim Greer and DJ D-Styles of The Beat Junkies.

Casual explains the album title reflects their desired legacy of skill, and highlights the track “Uplifted” as a personal favorite that tells the story of Hieroglyphics.

The Game’s “The Life” arrives at an interesting point in his career. Coming more than two decades after The Documentary established him as one of Compton’s most visible rap exports, the video doesn’t attempt to recreate the mythology of his younger self. Instead, it seems interested in what remains after the mythology has already been established.

The camera doesn’t need to turn every shot into a postcard of Los Angeles. Instead, the accumulation of ordinary details creates the sense of place. That’s particularly effective because Game’s visual history has always depended heavily on geography.

The Game’s identity has always been unusually dependent on the idea of West Coast continuity. On The Documentary, songs such as “Westside Story” established him as a student of the region’s rap history, while Dr. Dre’s involvement positioned him within a lineage stretching from N.W.A. through the Death Row era and into the Aftermath generation. Contemporary criticism of The Documentary similarly identified Game’s constant West Coast references as central to his identity.

That’s arguably more mature. The young Game had something to prove about being the heir to Compton’s tradition. The older Game can simply exist within that culture and let the location and depth of his career speak.

Comparing it with “Hate It or Love It”. This is probably the most revealing comparison.

“Hate It or Love It” was essentially a myth-making video. It dramatized Game and 50 Cent’s childhoods, moving between Compton and Jamaica, Queens, and turning their histories into a cinematic story about poverty, violence and eventual success.

That’s a significant evolution.

In “Hate It or Love It,” Game is almost a character in a biopic. The younger version of himself is portrayed by an actor, his childhood trauma becomes narrative, and his ascent is given a beginning, middle and end. The video ultimately frames him as someone who conquered his circumstances.

There is still an awareness of where he came from, but the visual language is more comfortable with longevity. Instead of constantly revisiting death, conflict and survival, it emphasizes the fact that he’s still here.

That’s why the video’s relative lack of spectacle works. The Game doesn’t need another video proving that he has money, connections or credibility. His catalog already does that.

The Game – The Documentary 3 (Review)

Impact of a Legend:

The Game is no stranger to the West Coast and being an overall influencer culturally. A lot of time is spent into calling Jayceon Taylor being bipolar by fans, but this album served up by him is anything but. The Game as a legend shooting for relevancy has quite a few records on this offering which capture the West’s modern sound quite accurately. Ultimately, as a legend, it is a blessing that Game is still giving us offerings we care to hear unlike other rappers.

Game’s Production, Lyrics, and Cadence:

Like stated above, the production is top tier. The cadence going into these records is very hungry from The Game lyrically and flow wise – reminding us that Game is still one of the top tier lyricist on the West Coast. Every other track also has above grade stand out features which compliment The Game’s direction very well. Records switch between a Southern fusion, West Coast bay area influence, and sometimes more introspective features like the final track with Marsha Ambrosius.

Game’s Direction:

Ultimately, with that said this is a way more mature album than Game’s past efforts. It struggles in some part having good songs some hits, but the songs sounding crowded and away from the direction of Aftermath or G Unit which style beats made Game’s early career memorable. However due to this, Game can now appeal to other markets with these strange sounding songs. It and the Kurupt album are on near even footing as far as ratings and more mature direction as far as song development and introspection are concerned.

To start, Shyne’s The Honorable is set to be executive produced by Dr. Dre, contain tracks produced by Dr. Dre and feature Dr. Dre as well. Plus, apparently, it totes the production from Timbaland, Polow Da Don, Swizz Beatz, Boi-1da, Hit Boy, and more. The album is set to be Shyne’s third official LP and will be continued as a series of having two more albums – making this the first out of three – completed, ready to go, and going to retail at the later part of this year – around November.

In more news, Xzibit’s Kingmaker 2 according to the F’Yall Podcast interview is set to release at the beginning of this upcoming year. The album is set to contain all new material and no leftover material from King Maker 1. It is surely an album worth waiting on it, noting how legendary Kingmaker 1 was.
