Rumor has it that Super Street Fighter IV will have the car breaking and barrel busting mini-stages from the original Street Fighter II added into it [source]. No complaints here. Loved the car stage. Not so much the barrel one though. Depending on which character you were using that one could be a bitch. You could always cheese the car stage with Blanka or E. Honda, though.

Update: It’s confirmed that the car-bashing bonus stage will return in Super Street Fighter IV.

See Benny the Cab from ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit?’ is in this comic? Reminds me that I want to mention two things relating to the ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit?’ product. One, read the book the movie is based on: ‘Who Censored Roger Rabbit?’. It has Roger, Baby Herman, Eddie Valiant and Jessica Rabbit in it and that’s about where the similarities between the two end. Much darker story and has a pulp detective feel to it. Definitely worth the read. Second, Robert Zemeckis has confirmed that he is working on a Roger Rabbit sequel and that the original screenwriters are working on a script. [source]. Not sure if this is a good thing or not. Zemeckis has a major hard-on for the CGI motion capture thing now. Not sure if he might try using that instead of live actors. Just wouldn’t have the same feel. Your opinion?

Nonetheless, I’m done for the week. I will be at Nekocon, my last convention of the year, this weekend. So if you’re going to be in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area of Virginia drop by and say, “Hi!” Otherwise, I’ll talk you next week.

I spent at least three hours scoured the internet trying to locate the name of the person who created the box art for the North American version of the original Mega Man for the NES. The best I could find was that the person was commissioned to create the box art either rushed it or waited until the last minute and conned someone else to create the artwork instead. Nonetheless, I really wish I knew who really created the box art for the game. I would have made the game title “Painting who So-and-So” instead of “Painting the Mega Man Way.” Oh, well… I can always change it down the road if someone can find out the truth. It is out there, after all.

Update: I’ve received a lot of emails from readers saying that the person who created the art for the original NES Mega Man box is Rodney Baddraw. Unfortunately, I highly doubt that Rodney Baddraw is the person’s name. First off, the name comes from a parody article on GameSpy and no where else. Second, Rodney’s last name is Baddraw… Bad Draw. Yeah…

While I appreciate the help, I really don’t believe that Rodney is our person.

Also, starting now through Christmas you can save 20% off of your purchase cost at BigBoomBomb.com by entering the code “HOLIDAY” at checkout. Even though as gets closer to Christmas its really hard to guarantee orders will arrive by Christmas, the code is still good until then. But a lot of the items in the store are in very limited quantities and I am taking a good chunk of the merch with me to NekoCon this Friday. So available stock is dwindling fast. So don’t delay… Order today! It makes sense because it rhymes.

See you Thursday…

Today’s comic is kind of an eleventh hour idea. The comic I was original planning to do today was coming out the way that I was hoping. So at the last minute I started pondering things that were Halloweenish for the season. I thought of jack-o’-lanterns, then Jack Skellington, then that the Predator collects skulls and here we are. Originally, I was going to have Jack Skellington’s head in the Predators hand. But in the end I felt Grim Fandango was a more suitable fit.

Seen Next GTA’s teaser image in Libery City Episodes manual? Wanna know my guess of where it will take place? Texas/Mexico. Perfect place for the next Grand Theft Auto game. Two different countries, tons of diversity, drug running, smuggling people across the border, oil rigs to blow up… tons of new stuff to do. But that’s only my speculation. But it is where I have been suspecting the next game would take place for a while now. Agree or disagree, your opinions are always welcome.

Don’t forget the Epic Mickey print is still available over at BigBoomBomb.com for a limited time and for only $5.95 USD as well. Not a bad offer.

See you on Monday and have a Happy Halloween!

Duke Nukem: Forever

To be able to maintain Dueling Analogs status as a “gaming” webcomic. I must mention something pertaining to Duke Nukem or the indefinite status of Duke Nukem: Forever! at least once a year. This comic fills my quota.

First off, since I received so many requests for print version of the Epic Mickey comic, we’re going to offer it up for a limited time on BigBoomBomb.com. It’s available as an 8″ x 10″ full color print on cardstock. Also note, this is a test to see if other prints will be available down the road as well. Besides for only $5.95 USD you get a copy of the print and shipping included. Not a bad offer. Check it out!

As far as the comic goes, I honestly have no idea what Duke has been up to for the past decade. But selling his Nukems to get some extra money is as good a guess as any.

I also want to mention that Scarlet Pirate, a female gamer (it makes sense why I mention that if you read her comic and the responses), created this guest comic in response to the comments of the Blue Shell, Blue Balls comic. I really enjoyed receiving this in the email. And on top of that it’s a very creative way to response to the thread going ons. Heck, if I got more stuff like this I’ll have to start a fan art section. Which would also be really cool.

Nonetheless, see you on Thursday…

I guess this would technically be a Games that I am sad were never made….

After I first saw Zombieland, I thought to myself that that universe would be a good place to have a Grand Theft Auto game take place in. But wouldn’t that basically be a Dead Rising clone? Nope. And let me explain why.

Dead Rising is a timed survival game. You need to move fast and track of your time carefully if you want to get anything accomplished. Not in GTA. Sure you’ve got missions, but you also have the freedom of going around and screwing with the masses at you leisure. Honestly, the biggest difference between this and a regular GTA game would be that when you fire a gun into the crowd, they don’t run away but try to devour your flesh.

Think about it. Most of the NPCs in GTA games are basically zombies with very few advanced characters to interact with… just like Zombieland. Plus, you could have cool things like a zombie radio station where all the singing in the songs are just moans and they have commercials about brains, too.

I know there are more ways this game could work really well. Looking forward to hearing your ideas about it as well.

Side note… This comic makes me think of a major shortcoming of webcomics… “time.” While I am pleased with the way this comic turned out, I know I could do a lot more if I actually had to the time work on it more. Problem with webcomics and this not being my full-time job, is that time is not a luxury you have. After a certain point, just got to stop and say, “Good enough.” and then move on. Or you’ll never get it finished. Just something that I felt like mentioning.
