So I got the idea of mixing the robot masters from the original Mega Man series with The Mr. Men children’s book/cartoon series. Instead of Cut Man you get Mr. Cut, instead of Guts Man you get Mr. Guts and so forth… I decided to do the “first” eight (8) robot masters in this amalgam format. It was fun to do and was fun to take the names of some of the characters in different direction from their original intent.

Personally, I’d love to do a poster with all eighty (80) robot masters done in the Mr. Men format. But that’s up to you guys whether there would be a demand for something like that. If a poster containing all eighty (80) Mr. Masters would be something you guys would be interested in leave a comment below or drop me a line.

Otherwise, I will see you on Thursday.

I mean 100 coins earns you an extra life in Super Mario Bros. and 100 rings earns you one in Sonic the Hedgehog, but is an extra life in one worth the same as one in the other? And if they are weighted differently what would the exchange rate be between the two? And what about rupees and other forms of currency in various video games? Someone with a lot more free time on their hands should plot this out on a chart.

Had fun doing the artwork on this comic. Tried to make it have the feel of the art from Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. And did about 95% of the comic in Photoshop. That’s about 90% more than I normally do.

That’s about it for now. I’ve got some fun ideas for next week. Just haven’t decided if Monday with be an extra long comic or an animation. It’ll be fun either way.

See you then!

So I live in the Virginia/North Carolina border right near the ocean in an area of Virginia called Hampton Roads a.k.a. Southside a.k.a. Tidewater. And this area of Virginia has a knack for avoiding most major weather storms. Maybe its because of the close proximity to the ocean. Or possibility because of North Carolina’s coastline that makes a hard turn east right before it meets Virginia. Or maybe the fact that Pat Robertson and his 700 Club are located right here in Hampton Roads and that he prays away all the storms. But regardless we do rarely get hit by any heavy storms in this area. Hurricanes will usually turn away right before hitting this area and snow storms go around us. I’m serious. It can snow 20 miles above this area and 20 miles below, but the storms coming from the west usually turn or split right down the center when they reach this area.

So what does any of this have to do with you? Well, when we got hit with a snow storm on Friday night that delivered 7″ of storm to my house (usually we’re lucky if we even get a dusting of snow each season) I was not going to let that opportunity to have some fun with my family go to waste this weekend. Now I’m not saying that creating Dueling Analogs is a waste of time and/or not fun, but spending some nice time with my family during this rare occasion was definitely my priority. Fortunately, I did plan enough ahead and created a snowman in the shape of Mario while I was out there to put up on the site today. Not sure how tall that thing looks in the picture, but the snowman itself stands about 4′ tall.

But don’t worry, I shall return on Thursday with something comically gaming. Or at the very least gamingly comic.

OH… don’t forget tonight at 8pm is the 1000th episode of X-Play. And guess who is going to be a very special guest on said show? That’s right! Not me. See you Thursday.

And that happened long before the events of the first game.” Good observation, but last time I checked Dueling Analogs was not considered canon for Resident Evil or any other video game for that matter. And if it is… Whoa, Nelly!

Yeah… Just wanted to nip that in the butt before someone posted something about that in comments section. You see I find that for a lot of the readers anything that I post after the initial comment section is ignored and the only things I actually said is what is written in this area.

So Monday at 8pm is the 1000th episode of X-Play on G4. Not sure if I should do a special comic for the event. Scott already did a brilliant comic about X-Play a few years back. Definitely would be hard to top. But I still have five days to think about it, so I might try to tackle it. I do have something in mind, just not sure if I can pull it off. We’ll see…

And I guess you’ll just have to come back Monday to see if I pull it off as well. See you then!

Well, I answered my own question. When I asked on Thursday if I should change the Dueling Analogs schedule to run regular comics on Monday and Wednesday and add console comics on Friday the general consensus was no. Not so much because you wouldn’t want the content, but because you knew that I already have a pretty hectic time updated the regular comic on time and adding an addition day would just worsen it. You were right. I had a bunch of freelance work to do this weekend and when it finally came time to do today’s comic, I was already drained. Sometimes I really wish I was a two man team so that I could have someone else pick up the slack, but unfortunately I really don’t play well with others.

Nonetheless, I’m going to run this today and get the comic that was suppose to run today finished by Thursday. Sorry for the inconvenience.
