I originally had just planned to have Peekaboo guest star in this comic. But then I thought, "Why not have Richard guest star in it, too?" Then, I decided that the gaming joke was weak. But if I still used it then this would still be considered a gaming strip. And I could then go and make a whole bunch of variations without changing the artwork. And there's the thought process behind this comic.

In other news, my portfolio site is finally up and ready on the net. And as such, I am taking requests for commissioned pieces. As of right now, I just need to finish the Jill and her Drill Dozer piece for David and then I am all free for commission pieces. So if that strikes your fancy, head on over there and drop me a line.

Oh, and I went and updated the outer circle today, too. Go figure!

Actually, it's more like "One for the Week." I had another comic that I was working on for this week, but I've been working on my portfolio site so much that it got back-burnered. The plan is to get my portfolio site up on Monday along side a new Dueling Analogs comic.

In the interim, check out Dr. Horrible. Because it is awesome.

I felt the animation was a nice touch.

Before I posted the news here I was trying to find an awesome video a saw online a while back about why the NES did the whole blinking thing. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it. The video wasn't so much about the blinking as more talking about the difference between the NES and the Famicom systems, of which the Famicom didn't do the whole blinking thing.

I remember it has something to do with what the difference between 60-pin vs. 72-pin cartridges and what each of the pins did. And in the video they also talked about the sound difference between the NES and Famicom versions of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse.

I know, random information. But if anyone knows which video I'm talking about, post it in this entries' forum thread and then I can update the main page with a link to it. I think it would add some good background information for this comic.

[update - Tuesday 11:29AM EST] Ghegs was so kind enough to tell me where the video was located. It was done by Famicom Dojo and that episode in particular was called Cartridges and Pins. It's an entertaining and informative watch.[/update]

I really enjoyed the forum discussion for the last comic. Good times, good times. Thanks to everyone who participated in it as well as everyone who took the time to follow along. I appreciate it.

Worser and Worser

I'm a little late with this comic. They announced that Final Fantasy XIII was no longer a PS3 exclusive and would launch simultaneously on the Xbox 360 as well a week and a half ago [link].

So is this the nail in the PS3's coffin? I doubt it. Will it hurt Sony? Definitely. Remember, the PS3 is bleeding money (unlike the Nintendo DS that prints it).

I won't further interject my opinions, yet. I'll wait to see what people have to say in this posting's forum thread first.

One last thing, Sunday is the final day to pre-order a "Cloud Lied, Aerith Died" shirt and save $2 off the regular price.

One Year Later...

I call this piece One Year Later, because one year ago I created this. That piece bothered me a year ago when I created it and it irks the hell out of me now. So I decided to do a new Samus Aran picture. And this time to do it right.

The original piece had a boring stance, too thick of lines, and a weird looking face. I wanted to correct all of that, make it a little more interesting, and I think adding the metroid silhouette to the background was a nice touch, too.

I so wish I could make all the art in the comics look like this piece. But this puppy here took almost seven hours to complete. Nonetheless, I really like how it turned out.

Let's not call this filler, but closure... for me at least.

Geist Panik!? What in the world is Geist Panik? Why it's the latest creation from fellow Gamers Pair of Dice alumni and my little webcomic buddy, Brian Wilson. Plus, with ten comics in the archive already it's already at the perfect point to start reading... not too many to fear the backlog and not too few to wonder where the strip is going. Nope Goldilocks, this is just right.

Shake, Rattle, Death Toll!

Wario Land: Shake It! is looking to be a pretty sweet side scroller. Especially Wario's character animations which simply look awesome. [link]. And that's about it. Not much else about the game... seen some screenshots, box art, videos and have played the predecessors... So I know what's coming. But they haven't really overloaded us with info on the game yet. Heck, I don't even think it has an official site, yet. It comes out at the end of September, so maybe Nintendo is waiting 'til it gets a little closer to bombard us. Who knows?

I want to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped after what I mentioned in the previous comic. Things are looking a lot brighter now and I greatly appreciate everything you guys did. You're the best!
