Nashville Arts profiles my works

2014-12-05T08:25:00.000-08:00

This has been a goal of mine to break down the wall of publishing a graffiti artist in this very conservative magazine, which had never been done. So here it is , after the success of my mural in 12 South , they were itching to do this story , written by a very talented and creative soul from the Chicago area new to Nashville Lily Hansen. Thanks Lily for such a great write up, and Nashville Arts for finally opening your doors to a new kind of creativity. GRAFFITI LIVES

12 SOUTH LOVE MURAL

2014-12-05T08:05:00.000-08:00

So first off let me apologize for the 5 month delay of post , I have been trying to keep up w/ new website as well as commissioned pieces. Now thats thats done , here is my next project after the last post , back in June. Miranda Whitcomb Pontes of restaurants (Burger Up & Josephine) commissioned me to do a mural for the neighborhood of 12 South, which is my childhood stomping grounds, so needless to say I'm very honored to be a part of this project. Other than the temp being about 95 everyday , this was a blast to see how the community responded to a graffiti mural. All and all I got two thumbs up. Thanks Miranda for your support of my arts, and thanks to the 12South community.........

CUSTOM WALKWAY @ POP NASHVILLE

2014-05-08T07:51:00.000-07:00

So, after doing the exterior wall and interior door for Pop, I closed it out w/ this funky walkway leading up to the entrance door. The original concept as you can see in the 1st pic was the multi colored tape look that waterfalls down the stairs from a pinterest pic ; however, my work was cut out for me and my poor knees for this never ending tape off job. Not to be discouraged, it all started to come together , when the owners shifted the gears and changed the color scheme a bit to tone it down , which was a great idea. This was a great learning experience for me , and the overall project was 2 thumbs up . I have to say a special thanx to my Natalie for helping me w/ this project 3 days straight.

Introducing POP Nashville

2014-04-10T07:37:00.000-07:00

This is one of my most recent and favorite jobs so far this year. Introducing POP Nashville , a place for pop up dining as well as events in East Nashville. I just finished doing the exterior wall w/the assistance of my homie Rex2. I am currently working on an interior project for the restaurant, so stay tuned for the final pic of that. This project is started by Sarah and Brad Gavigan on Venice Beach, Ca. , they also started Otaku South, an occasional ramen shop in the deep south. I am happy to be a part of their new venture, and especially, because it's on the East Side. This has been a great addition to my portfolio . If in the East Nashville area, look up into the sky opposite side of Barista Palor, on Gallatin Rd. just before Eastland Ave.

Even though graffiti is often looked at as vandalism, she saw it as art , and we want to thank her for noticing , respecting and supporting our arts. Here are some pics from the last Wash Yard graffiti jam , this location will be torn down soon and re developed....BUMMER to be forced out of a property!!!!! Anyway enjoy some of Nashville's finest!!!!, sorry if I left out anyone.... KREST 1, OL SKOOL, REX 2 , AUD ROK, MOBE, FOLEK, MAG, SKAN , BLOKS, NOIZ, SYKO, ROME, HASP, SHYN, BOSER 2, SOLO

Commission Paintings for Chateau West

2014-01-15T07:45:00.000-08:00

So, I was commissioned to paint 3 Monet paintings for a new french restaurant to open 2014 called Chateau West. If you know me , then you know that this is way far from my normal subject matter on canvas. However, I do enjoy a challenge , so w/ that being said , I took on this feat to try and copy a masters works. It was very challenging at times ; but i just kept pushing through. I delivered them this week, and the client was very pleased, so I can relax now, and my friends can stop calling me Tronet'....enjoy the pics.....and go visit Chateau West and have some good french cuisine.

FYI , I attached the pics from which he told me he wanted me to paint as well as my version......

I just did this last week for a client's "man cave" . His wife commissioned me to do this for a anniversary present, needless to say he is a die hard dallas fan, so we thought this might be a good luck charm for the opening season game against the Giants. Hell yeah they won!

Canvas for Journey's

2013-08-21T08:32:00.000-07:00

I was hired to do live painting for the annual Journeys corporate party at Mercy lounge. The event was full of excitement, fun and a hugh success. I did a canvas and souvenir shirts for lots of workers from all over the globe. The CEO has asked me to come to corporate headquarters and do a interior wall for them. I'm delighted for the opportunity to share my works w/ such a brand. I hope i get a chance to do this again next year! Anyway here is a shot of the canvas , I was busy doing the souvenir shirts all night til the end , so I don't have pics of any of them. If you follow my blog and have a pic of your shirt, please post. Thanx enjoy!

TRUE CAMO ON SHIPPING CONTAINER

2013-08-21T08:19:00.000-07:00

I just finished this camo job on this container for a buddy of mine. It's my first time painting true camo as well as on a container. The turnout was a success. If strolling in the woods you can certainly mistake this as the normal background from a distance. Beware you never know who is watching!

INTERIOR NURSERY MURAL BY TROY DUFF

2013-08-14T10:20:00.000-07:00

This is a custom interior nursery mural w/ a theme starting from" Around The World In 90 Days ". I started by painting the whole room including ceiling the base color of the sky, then coming in adding my clouds from floor to ceiling, next painting a few hot air balloons and also adding a few real ones on fishing line. We has a great jig saw cutter (thanx Douger and Sunny) carve out these replicas of iconic monuments around the world, and then I painted them. At the final part once again LED'S were added behind the world , and the monuments ; however I didn't get a good shot of this completion w/ the led's on.
Anyway, enjoy the pics.....Mel we did it again! Thanx Cato for your help and creativity as well.
