2016-10-30T18:37:00.000-07:00

Hey,
So I am slowly coming back, getting some back log of pieces together, and making a bunch more.
I have also discovered the joy of a hot foam cutter.

1 of 4 underground cavern pieces I also have to get posted ;)

3rd Brawl week

2015-04-02T07:14:00.001-07:00

Ran another fun Brawl Fight last night. PvP tabletop is fun, because EVERY fight ends with one of those...at zero, my last action will be to drop you before I drop....like The Goblin teams barbarian vs...Jackson the really attractive Ogre....who only participates in Dungeon Brawl because he can work out and pay for waxing.....

Or the Ranger/Oracle who made their way to the elevated area and given that it was April Fool's day yesterday the entire area was slippery.....

You can see the dynamic fighter duo of Oberyn and Gregor making their way towards the elevated area, they just have to get by the Ranger's Wolf....Team 'Thrones' has come in 2nd all three weeks, with a different team winning first each of the three weeks.

2015-03-16T11:08:00.003-07:00

A couple of new pieces, messing around with 'Great Stuff' Spray foam.

Above and below, what I have rebuilt so far. A lot more uniformity to the sizes, corners on the left, edge pieces around the right edge.

Finally a couple shots of the pieces just shuffled together.

A few more

2015-02-18T22:46:00.000-08:00

Building, little by little!!!!

The paint job is rushed, and not quite finished, touch ups and clear coat...but right now playable is what I'm gunning for. I will make the show case pieces more quality oriented. For now I'm having dungeon whoopin withdrawal....

Guess who's back

2015-02-15T13:59:00.000-08:00

Hey everyone.

Crazy couple years, with the house fire and well, just everything.

However finally coming together and building again.

Everything is new, as I lost my whole set in the fire.

not much

2013-03-23T14:41:00.000-07:00

Finally finished the last of 5 elevated/two story pieces....I've been slacking and have to get casting again BAD....but anyway the threw together some ruinish thrashed areas with an objective piece. Hewp yew like it.

All the pale green glows in the dark, or under blacklights...looks pretty slick, my camera won't capture that light though :( ah well :)

just a big layout

2013-02-20T20:17:00.001-08:00

I have been fiending for a good game...built this dungeon for my kids to fight through

the blocks

2013-02-07T08:57:00.001-08:00

I use Hirst arts molds to cast the blocks I use for most of my scenery. I embellish with found items, but the bulks of the built pieces are molds bought from Bruce Hirst over at www.hirstarts.com

4th level grinder + new piece

2013-01-22T07:33:00.001-08:00

So tomorrow night I'm planning to run a big battle tomorrow. Ultimately I'd like to use the game as a jump off for a sporadic campaign with recurring characters.

The premise. The characters as 'local heroes' are all 4th level, and reside in a sheltered peaceful town out on the edge of civilization. Trade with the city is regular enough that equipment is available, but for the most part your characters have driven back a few small orc raids, taken care of a marauding beast or two, and have the general privilege of being the highest level balanced group in the area. As such the town looks up to you, you have some renown, and are doing alright for yourselves.

One day you are approached by Demaricus...You know him as a local exotic looking humanoid, you've always assumed he had some kind of elemental or celestial heritage who lives outside of town. He asks to speak to you and your friends....buys you lunch from the inn. While there he explains that he and his friends aren't just farmers and have found something they know is pretty important, and are just learning how important, but they need help. You are invited out to his ranch.

Later that day the group arrives at the farmstead. Demaricus introduces you to Tell, a dark complexioned human looking man, you begin to realize that both Demaricus and Tell dress and act like casters...maybe everyone around here isn't just a simple farmer, rancher, or woodsman after all. At the back of the farmhouse, is what at first glance looks like a grain storage building...A knowledge history or engineering will tell someone that the base of the building is very old DC10....the base of a tower DC 15....or the top of a shrine to an off shoot of Desna worshippers who sought out mysteries of teleportation, travel, scrying, and exploration through any means necessary. Inside the building is a staircase down to a strange series of chambers....the center chamber is a large room with several pools, fountains, mirrors, and strange apparatus set up around a central stone archway. A DC 10 Knowledge Arcana, Religion, or engineering check will tell you it appears to be a gate.

"We got it working about a week ago." Demaricus says. "The pools show us all kinds of places. We can move them around, and sometimes go back to places we've already seen. We're still learning how to use a lot of it. Yesterday we figured out how to line up a pool with a gate, and open it. Today we came across a strange scene. An elven Priest of Desna came across the territory of a band of bandits...we're not even sure if it is in this version of the material plane. Any way, we also worship Desna...and we don't think it showing us this was an accident....the elf is unconscious but alive...The group stripped him of his gear and left him for dead amid some rocks. However they are still in the area, and are ready for more elves in case the one they robbed had friends. There are just the three of us up here so far, and it takes 2 to make the gate work. Myself and Tell would run the machine...we were hoping you might go into the gate, save the elf and bring him here. While we can't pay you, it looks like the bandits have a pretty good stash, and we think there might be a lot of opportunity using this gate...you could be part of something pretty amazing...the pools show us all kinds of places...other worlds, and there seems to be a high prevalence of conflict based locations...dungeons overrun with beasts, strongholds, ancient trap filled mazes, ruins full of knowledge and magic. I'm telling you about this because I've seen you all around town and I know you are trustworthy. I feel like I am destined to save this fellow believer. I hope you can help."

A new piece!

2012-12-20T15:26:00.001-08:00

So I apologize for my lack of posts, I have been busy. Getting myself almost back on my feet! Yay me, without further shenanigans her is a 12x12 raised position shown with a previously built Dungeon Brawl tower...even this bigger piece is modular and will work with my other dungeon pieces! Maybe later I'll throw a bunch together!!

Sooooo

2012-09-21T10:14:00.001-07:00

I realize I haven't posted in a while, I've been working a TON of hours. I have a bunch of blocks cast, and am planning on building soon...but in the meantime here's the mini I just painted for our upcoming Runelords campaign....

The character's name will be Warchild....
Believe it or not he's a Cleric, but we are going to allow the optional battle Cleric rules...
So he won't have domains, or bonus domain spells...but he will have a full BAB and a d10 hit die.

Hailing from some cold mountainous foresty areas...Warchild was raised in caves, where his tribe often covered themselves in war paint, used all kind of primitive fetishes to predict the future, heal, and cast bad intentions on their enemies, and have a rich history of measuring toughness by how much you've survived. He often throws chicken bones at whoever he's healing as a sign of luck. In combat he tends to speak gibberish and taunt his enemies. When he bursts or heals himself he definitely taunts his enemies that his god who he calls the den mother will take away the paltry wounds they did to him. I'm picturing him as one of the bad guys from the 13th warrior.
When a bad cave in killed most of his tribe he managed to crawl from the rubble only to find that the rest of his tribe had been killed by a rival tribe that capitalized on their weakness...disjointed he followed the other tribe's trail to the sea where he was no longer able to follow and has now wandered his way to the beginning of the Runelords campaign. The journey took many weeks and he realizes that the other tribe has for the moment escaped him. He hopes that one day fate will deliver them back to him.

A few new pieces secret opening

2012-08-10T07:22:00.001-07:00

Alright whipped up a few new pieces and am once again contemplating a dungeon brawl campaign...no really....alright well here are the new pieces.

ok 3 new floor sections and a door that I dry brushed with green to make it 'corrosive'

A stirway to no where that I could bridge to an adjacent section....the 6" wall to the left is free standing and has a corner on each end...and has a ......

has a removable....'secret door'. So it can go in front of any 6 inch run...

attacking a fortified position

2012-07-24T16:01:00.003-07:00

So I built a dungeon based on ruins in a jungle. An evil warband...mostly Orcs headed by a handful of mercenaries. (levelled NPCs with a bunch of Orc thugs) Have found these ruins which have 2 healing fountains on them, and have found clues that the ruins might lead to a dungeon, but they haven't been able to find the door yet...The local militia...tired of the Mercenaries raiding local merchants have staked out a piece of the ruins and now need skilled PCs to force their way in and take out the well supplied mercenaries and their orc and monster henchman.

the overview from the direction the PCs will enter. The local militia with archers has managed to stay safe within the area that was once an entryway of some type. However they are equally pinned down by orc archers.

The PCs will have to move out cautiously and engage the enemy.

It took Militia a while to find the Mercenary bandits, and they were fairly well settle, and very well supplied.

The jungle has claimed large areas of whatever this structure once was

A side view....

More new pieces!

2012-07-07T17:00:00.001-07:00

Alright crackhead here are some new pieces!!!!! There will be more SOOOOOOOOON

Overview...painted another door for giggles...I still like color coding the doors, they look cool, and I can easily separate trapped, locked, etc, etc.

A close up of the newest 3x6 Wasteland piece

Another 3" wall piece for when I want to hedge in some flat floors...with details...because the little details spread throughout the dungeon make it fun

A T-hallway again, with a little fun to keep it lively and different

A starting point for Dungeon Brawl....with comedy tragedy skulls....why....why not?!

Wasteland

2012-07-02T11:29:00.000-07:00

So I am finally building again. I threw together a few pieces that I'm dubbing the wasteland. They are a little bit ruin, a little bit rocks, and a little bit maze. So here are the pieces.

these are the new pieces....3 wasteland....a broken up watery 3x6 and a half hallway.

Then these are the new pieces thrown together with some existing pieces...there will be some brawling soon methinks...

the last two are just random detail close-ups....I like throwing little details in....I've dubbed those two skulls Statler and Waldorf.

A cool gaming quiz

2012-05-31T07:37:00.001-07:00

True Neutral Human Fighter (5th Level)

Ability Scores:
Strength- 19
Dexterity- 16
Constitution- 18
Intelligence- 14
Wisdom- 11
Charisma- 16

Alignment:
True Neutral- A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Fighters- Fighters can be many things, from soldiers to criminal enforcers. Some see adventure as a way to get rich, while others use their skills to protect the innocent. Fighters have the best all-around fighting capabilities of the PC classes, and they are trained to use all standard weapons and armor. A fighter's rigorous martial training grants him many bonus feats as he progresses, and high-level fighters have access to special melee maneuvers and exotic weapons not available to any other character.

all you other gaming geeks should try it, it was fun, took about 20 minutes, and for what it was did a decent job. http://easydamus.com/character.html

Grugg the half orc barbarian, Blackjack the Mwangi knife fighter...and Ninja the Tian rogue....put up a good fight but were not able to overcome our heroic players....to make matters worse, there was an irate hill giant stuck in a pit...with a treasure chest...no one dared mess with Sasquatch the Hill Giant...infuriating him further.....Look here are some pictures...stay tuned in 2 weeks when the heroes explore some mysterious caves in the mountains...

The start of an official Brawl Campaign

2012-03-05T16:43:00.000-08:00

So tonight I started my brawl campaign. There were four players.
Seth-played a Musket wielding Gunslinger, I couldn't help but call him Pilgrim
Tabby-played a straight up greatsword swinging fighter.
Gretchen-played a paladin archer
And Adam played an axe throwing chain ball swinging dwarf

They were all introduced to the Arena for the first time, playing against each other, some Stirges, and a Tian rogue, that acted suspiciously ninja like. A good showing and some stirge mopping was had by all. In the end The gunslinger emerged victorious. Felling Tabby with a lucky blow as both were grievously injured.

After the event they were approached by the event organizer and offered a chance to look into a strange outbreak of huge bugs that the stirge catcher noticed on his last excursion.

The chance at lucrative income, reknown, and a chance to work together was too much of a sweet deal, and the group soon found themselves out in the country side killing huge centipedes, an ankheg, a big angry spider named peaches, and the demented halfling druid that made it all happen.

Using a fast XP advancement they were all able to level, which will move them up quickly in the brawl arenas...

They also conveniently found a map...that might highlight another explorable attraction.

This arena was small and fairly simple...mainly because the characters were so low level, as they advance the arenas and side dungeons will get elaborate and the enemies insane. Expect underdark exhibitions..imagine voluntarily brawling with the local mindflayer bad-ass. Or perhaps a vampire with a couple of class levels. Then there's the Burning Island championships, a huge arena helmed by some of the greatest mages, in the world....
By 20th level the characters will be mighty, brutal, heroic, rock start heroes.

BadAss size dungeon brawl!!

2012-02-09T18:09:00.000-08:00

Built a huge multilevel dungeon for this week's dungeon brawl....check it out!

Thank you for being a friend...

2012-01-30T05:48:00.000-08:00

Hey folks, those people that have been checking regularly. Here are some gaming/funny pics! Additionally, I have plaster again and am making new pieces already, so there will be some updates to the Dungeon Brawl saga...
