	  <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Offered daily, Memorial Day through Labor Day, residents and visitors alike will ride in the footsteps of Chicago&#8217;s favorite son, Barack Obama, and learn about the 44th President&#8217;s amazing journey to the White House.  This excursion gives an up-front and personal look at this American icon&#8217;s local stomping grounds while biking through the picturesque history-filled neighborhoods of Hyde Park and Kenwood for a glimpse of the President&#8217;s home.  </p>

	<p>Participants will also have an opportunity to visit the site where Barack and  Michelle were married, and learn about the president&#8217;s life as a Chicagoan.  This tour also features notable landmarks for Chicago icons such as our first African-American Mayor, Harold Washington; the former home of boxing legend Muhammad Ali; and the Cornell stone &#8211; dedicated to Paul Cornell, abolitionist and founder of Hyde Park.  Top sights highlighted on this tour include the DuSable Museum of African American History, the University of Chicago, The Robie House by Frank Lloyd Wright, the former home of Muhammad Ali, the South American Monk Parakeets, Rockefeller Chapel, the Osaka Japanese Garden, the Museum of Science and Industry, and of course, the Obama residence.</p>

	<p>This easy riding, 2.5 hour tour on comfortable Trek cruiser bicycles is fun, educational, and inspiring. Each tour includes complimentary admission to the DuSable Museum which is currently featuring exhibits on the History of Blacks in the Armed Services and Mayor Harold Washington. Early next month a major exhibition on &#8220;Blues in Chicago&#8221; will be opening.</p>

	<p>The Presidential Bike tour departs twice daily at 10:30AM and 2:30PM from the DuSable Museum of African American History (located at 740 East 56th Place, Chicago, IL 60637).  Transportation to and from the museum is available through the Chicago Trolley &#8211; departing from Millennium Park Bike Station (239 E. Randolph, Chicago, IL 60601) at 9:30AM and 1:30PM.  </p>

	  <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A &#8220;star-studded&#8221; night is in store for the elegantly dressed Chicagoans who will be fortunate enough to be in attendance when the DuSable Museum of African American History presents it’s annual &#8220;A Night Of 100 Stars: Chicago African American History Makers&#8221; Gala on Saturday, February 21, 2009. Awards will be presented to the Galaxy’s &#8220;Shining Stars&#8221; of Broadcasting, Religion, Government, Entertainment and Law who have been selected as &#8220;Honorees&#8221; during the 2009 black-tie, Black History Month celebration, which has become the most sought-after ticket in town. The Gala, which is produced and hosted by the DuSable Museum of African American History’s Board of Trustees will take place at the Museum which is located at 740 East 56th Place (57th Street at South Cottage Grove Avenue) in Chicago’s Washington Park, from 6:00 PM until the stroke of Midnight.</p>

	<p>This year the flashbulbs will &#8220;explode&#8221; as guests walk the Red Carpet upon entering the Museum, indulge in the finest cocktails and hor d’oeuvres, partake of a lavish buffet supper, enjoy world-class entertainment and witness the presentation of the &#8220;2009 Chicago African American History Makers Awards.&#8221; Inaugurated in 1992 to culminate the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Museum, the Chicago African American History Makers Awards honor Black Chicagoans (current or former) who have made outstanding contributions to society, the city and to the world. Past recipients include: John H. Johnson, Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Michael Jordan, Reuben Cannon, Don Cornelius, Reverend Johnnie Colemon, Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun, Thomas Burrell, Carole Simpson, Lerone Bennett, Walter Payton and Mavis Staples, just to name a few.</p>

	<p>The &#8220;2009 Chicago African American History Makers Awards&#8221; honorees are as follows:</p>
