Travel + Leisure Names Disney Cruise Line Top Mega-Ship Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line has been named as the Top Mega-Ship Cruise Line and Top Mega-Ship Cruise Line for Families by Travel + Leisure readers in the magazine’s World’s Best Awards 2014. This is the first time Disney Cruise Line has received the Top Mega-Ship Cruise Line award and the sixth consecutive year it has been recognized as a top cruise line for families.

The World’s Best Awards are selected by Travel + Leisure readers who participate in a survey and rate cruise lines on several criteria, including staterooms, food, service, itineraries, excursions and value.

Disney Cruise Line has consistently received distinguished awards and recognition from the travel industry since first setting sail in 1998. These awards have included all aspects of the operation from dining and entertainment to youth activities and spa facilities.

Starbucks Now Open at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort

Starbucks fans can enjoy their favorite beverages at two new Starbucks locations now open at Downtown Disney®.

At Downtown Disney West Side, you can stop by a flagship Starbucks, part of the company’s commitment to be environmentally conscious. The design includes a covered patio overlooking the waterfront and a fireplace, as well as the new Clover Bar, featuring special reserve coffees brewed to order. A high-tech screen behind the Clover Bar shows images from coffee regions around the globe, and a new Human Connection Wall includes large touch-screen monitors that allow Guests to draw images with their fingers.

And, over at Downtown Disney Marketplace, a kiosk Starbucks location near World of Disney offers a convenient way to grab a beverage on-the-go.

Disney Cruise Line returning to West Coast in 2015!

Disney Cruise Line is returning to popular West Coast destinations and home ports for limited-time engagements in the Fall of 2015! Two Hawai’i cruises, a return to the West Coast with departures from San Diego and a Galveston, Texas homecoming make up a season of special sailings.

The Disney Wonder will explore the Hawaiian Islands with two special 10-night cruises in September. Sailing through breathtaking scenery, you can experience the beauty and natural wonders of this exciting destination.

And then, starting in October, the Disney Wonder returns to the West Coast for a limited time! DCL is offering six cruises from San Diego, California, sailing to Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

In November, the Disney Wonder returns to Galveston for the holiday season, offering a variety of sailings to The Bahamas and the Western Caribbean.

Pool Refurbishments and Enhancements at Disney’s Polynesian Resort

One of the most iconic Walt Disney World® Resort hotels, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, is undergoing a complete re-imagining! The sweeping renovation includes a new food & beverage experience, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. Plus, the resort hotel is returning to its original 1971 opening day name, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. As this exciting transformation begins, we want to make you aware of some renovations that may impact your upcoming visits.

The Nanea Volcano Pool and Slide will close for enhancements beginning July 26 through early 2015. If the pool was a primary reason that you selected Disney’s Polynesian Resort for your upcoming vacation, you may want to consider working with your travel agent to find an alternate Walt Disney World Resort hotel that will suit your needs.

Guests staying at Disney’s Polynesian Resort while the main pool is closed will receive one (1) complimentary ticket for each member of their party to visit Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park during their stay. To ensure a seamless visit, transportation will be provided to Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. Guests will enter through a dedicated check-in point where they will receive their complimentary tickets and towels.

In the Great Ceremonial House, several areas will be revamped including the lobby. In order to make your check-in experience more efficient, please participate in Online Check-In by visiting StartYourDisneyExperience.com.

For National Train Day 2014, we’re hoping to see Americans come out in historic numbers at events in all 50 states. And to say “thank you” to today’s participants, we’re also giving away a special promotional offer at all National Train Day locations!
