Just wondering how it actually got to be October already. This year has definitely flown by! I haven't been blogging much but recently I attended an online Affiliate Marketing conference and I was so inspired to help my fellow bloggers with this new business. Many of us are "stay-at-home" people who just need a little extra income for our coffee! The Trellis

The trellis needed some color so for our birthday's Mom ordered us 2 climbing rose bushes. They arrived as brown stalks and Errol dug a whole day to make the holes worthy of these roses. Looks like it was worth all of his hard work!

Now it is May. The month of flowers and sunshine and wonderful temperatures. The roses are blooming, I'll try to remember to take a photo. It's an awesome time of year.

We had a very special time with Garry. He and Errol have the same Uncle so they call themselves cousins. I will gladly adopt Garry as our cousin. He labors in Sri Lanka and has been there 18 years now. We hope to visit him there some time soon.

Found this picture on our Camera Card. Lyle & Evelyn were with us a couple of nights a week ago on their way home from Arizona. We did lots of fun things but seemed to leave the camera at home each time! This photo was taken when we went to the Elephant Bar for lunch on Sunday (a week ago).

This last week-end Errol & I both ended up sick. This time of year is terrible for allergies and I can't decide whether mine was an allergy to the epinepheran from the crown I had to get OR from the season. Either way, it hasn't been pretty here at our place the past 5 days and Errol is struggelling to even breathe. Things should be lots better in a month or two...LOL!

Jhett stopped by today when Errol was having some soup for lunch. Jhett decided he was hungry too, so he sat on Errol's lap and had some. He kept saying "Yumm...good" Just love this kid!

February Celebrations

It's time to get caught up to the fun February Celebrations! Errol's birthday was Sunday, so in preparation for the exciting event, we had steak and crab legs at home on Friday night.

Next, we went to dinner Saturday night at McCormick & Schmick's. We had an awesome dinner while it poured rain outside, BUT, we forgot the camera like true professional photogaphers!!
Sunday was a very busy day with our morning meeting being in Boulder City, so we came home for lunch and I made us shrimp salads as pictured here:

After gospel meeting that evening, James & Bre brought Errol a DQ birthday ice cream cake. After I managed to drop it on the floor while getting it to the table, James fixed it up so we could enjoy it as these pictures will show you!

Monday was our 36th Anniversary and we managed to just work the whole day right up until the evening, so decided since we'd been married 36 years it would probably be ok if we didn't go out on the town celebrating. We opted to stay home and have a delicious dinner and then got on the computer and talked to Errol's sister Joan & Vic in Canada and then our daughter's in-laws in Australia. It was a perfect evening with no photos again.

Today, Mom decided we "Girls" should go out to an early Valentine Lunch since Karen will be in Washington on Sunday. I managed to get a few pictures of this delicious event:

All of this fun and it isn't even the middle of the month yet!

We're wondering if we should have built an Ark last month since it is still raining here tonight and we are DEFINITELY doing our part to get Lake Mead a little fuller.

Can't believe it is past the middle of January already! I've had an awesome Birthday...WEEK! My birthday was celebrated with a luncheon with the ladies at my favorite Thai restaurant. Sorry I don't have any photos...just didn't think about the camera. Mom, Karen, Esther, Kara, Bree, Jessica & Jhett made the birthday party delightful. Continued the celebrating in the next few days by:

Shopping at the Outlet Mall
Spending half a day at the book store
Looking for bargains at Stein Mart
Celebrating at PF Changs
Celebrating at Outback Steakhouse
Spending an afternoon in the sun reading my book
Drinking numerous latte's

As you can see, it was a great week. Hope to have a more productive week next week but no week could be this much fun, could it?

December Birthday Breakfast

It's been a whole week ago, now. Last Saturday. The family gathered at Lyle & Karen's for a delicious birthday breakfast. We celebrated Lyle and Shannon's birthdays in style! I wrote about it in the "Too Much To Do" blog so here's the photos from the fun morning.

Finally! Here's a few photos from our Fabulous Thanksgiving week-end. We had a FEAST but somehow, the only thing we have a photo of is the desert table. LOL!

After eating there was an evening of games, talking, reading, and time on the computers. Then of course, there was more eating!

We went for a walk in the park on Friday...good thing, because it rained on Saturday making it PERFECT for raquet ball, shopping, or watching the games.

Now we look forward to our next family time together in December.

Too Much To Do

Wow, where did this whole year go? We haven't posted for a LONG time and now just don't know where to start. Way back in October we went to CABO. Those pictures are definitely on one of the photo cards sitting on my desk.

Thanksgiving with the California family was the BEST! We have pictures to post...somewhere! The food, family, and friends were so wonderful and makes us thankful for them all!

This last week-end we celebrated Shannon and Lyle's birthdays with a delicious Birthday Breakfast at Lyle & Karen's on Saturday. Errol made his famous cinnamon rolls (thanks Errol for getting up so early on a Saturday)! Lyle & Karen made delicious egg casseroles and waffles. Dave & Sue brought an awesome platter of fruit that I just couldn't quit eating.

There was one very funny incident. I had gotten a birthday candle that I brought to put on Errol's cinnamon rolls. So, we lit the candle (after 3 tries) and it started circling around and then the candles popped up and it played "Happy Birthday"! It was so much fun but then...

The smoke alarm went off! Lyle said he was glad to know that it actually works since it has never had occasion to go off before (really, Karen, don't you EVER burn toast???) Bryan very kindly took the candle outside to simmer and hours later Lyle went out and found it STILL playing Happy Birthday! Jessica kindly got a photo of the now very famous birthday candle. (Thank You for letting me borrow this photo, Jess)

Today Karen & I spent many hours with Mom. She had another eye surgery which she said was "just a 15 minute surgery with no down time" that turned out to keep us both with her until 6:00 PM at which time we left but are hoping she will be ok until we pick her up for her early morning post-op appointment tomorrow.

So, until life slows down long enough for me to get caught up to all the photo cards on my desk, we hope this lets you know that we're still here and enjoying life.

P.S. It's raining in Vegas today! Woohoo!

We had a garage sale today and while we were enjoying the friends,neighbors and sunshine,

We had a surprise visit from the very Famous and most Dearly loved Jhett!

He had to take a drive in our driveway, of course!

But it appears he lost his shoe, and had to pull into the pit to get his shoe replaced.

He was then pushed off into the track again for another round.

Wow, that was quite a day, the traffic was amazing!

Valentine's Day is such a wonderful day to remember those you love! Hope everyone had a fun one. I've been crazy sick with this stomach thing, so I didn't eat much but enjoyed the smells and fun. Here's some photos from the week-end.

Yes, it was quite the day! I started it off by taking Mom to her first Out-Patient Physical Therapy session. She assessed well and now goes 3 mornings a week. Oh Joy, more car trips!

We had visitors for our Wed night meeting which we always love. Our worker, Jacquie was here! There is the Concrete Show in town so it brings us more friends to meet with.

Tom (from Wisconsin) and Dick ( from Canada) ended up staying and talking since we knew so many that they knew and there were so many great stories to tell. Ended up they stayed the night with us and locked their Harley Davidson's securely by our front porch. Dick is Darren McDonald's Uncle, so once we found that out he was a great friend!

Then, Loren phoned us a photo of his day at work on the job site...here it is

I took Mom to her Glaucoma Eye Doctor's appointment this morning so now I'm starting my work. I hope there won't be too many interruptions today but it all makes life very interesting and fun. The week-end is COMING and it is Errol's birthday on Saturday and our Anniversary on Sunday so we hope to relax then.

Errol's Mum's 90th Birthday

Errol's Mum had her 90th Birthday on the 8th in Australia. She broke her hip a few months ago so this was her first big outing.

Errol's sister Joan, Brother John, and Sister Marie with Mum. Errol wasn't able to make the trip to Australia at this time of year so he's MIA!

The Evening After Christmas, Loren & Shanda arrived for a short, special visit. Since Loren & Errol had to work on Friday, we had a steak dinner in the evening and then opened presents by the fire with our dessert and coffee. Errol's cousin's daughter, Melanie, flew in the night before, so she was here to celebrate with us. Saturday afternoon we had our Prime Rib dinner and afterwards Kev, Jess, Jhett and Kyle & Kari came over for dessert and games. Why does the scale seem to be weighing so heavy this month?!

We spent Thanksgiving Day 2008 at The Burn's Place in California.
