We will be offering Fall Mini Sessions in Birmingham on Saturday, October 31 at a private farm location in the Leeds area...not too far from 280. Many of you joined me last year with the green couch. This year I will be bring along the mustard yellow chair from our Fall custom set.

This is the perfect opportunity to get your whole family together for Holiday gifts and Holiday card images, in a beautiful fall setting.

For $25 you will receive a 10 minute session with a private online gallery. Orders will be placed online with the Spoiled Rotten Photography pricing structure.

I know I am a little late in the game getting Spring sessions blogged, but I better get it done before the busy Fall Season gets here! It was such a blessing to photograph this extended family! We had planned to do this session several times in the past year, but different events hindered that from happening. The grandmother had been battling cancer for a while and we were able to get together on one of her better days this Spring. She was such a joy and blessing to so many people over the years. Just a few months after having these pictures made, she went to be with the Lord. I know these portraits will be cherished for a lifetime! There is never a better time to have a family or extended family portrait than NOW, as life is but a vapor and we are never guaranteed tomorrow.

This baby girl's family moved out of state before we could finish her 1st year Lil' Sprout Plan. So when Mom told me there were going to be in town visiting friends, we made sure to meet up for her 1 year session. We had a beautiful day at Birmingham Botanical Gardens to capture her sweet 1 year old smiles!

It is that time again! We got to review one of the super adorable Spring outfits from Matilda Jane Clothing. My sweet daughter loves posing and having fun for pictures when it means she gets to wear a new cute outfit from Matilda Jane. The Spring 2014 line, It's A Wonderful Parade features a variety of soft pastel colors with pops of bright colors thrown in that would be perfect to wear from Spring through Summer.

My 5 year old daughter is wearing a size 6 in the Cloudy Puffer Tee, Love Bug Knot Top, and Sweetheart Ruffled Leggings. We were inspired to do a little "strawberry picking" with the cute strawberry print fabric on the front of the knot top. I love that the items are cut with enough room to grow to be able to wear for several years. The knot tops are great to get a little big and adjust with the top knots and tie in back.

After what seems like a never ending Winter with freezing cold temps and TWO rounds of snow and ice, I am even more ready for Spring to come this year! I have made arrangements for 1 day this Spring for outdoor Lil' Sessions in Birmingham, AL. I have had great success with the weather on this weekend for at least 3 years in a row. However, if rain does occur, a makeup date will be arranged.

About half of my session times have been reserved already, so make sure to contact me ASAP if you would to reserve a spot for your family.

We had a fabulous 1 year session for this sweetie at her home. During the baby's first year, I like to include at least one session from the family's home. I love incorporating your walls, furniture, and special mementos into your portraits. It is always an honor to visit a client's home and see how they have chosen to frame and decorate their walls with pictures from previous sessions. I have so many favorites from this session to share! The first year always seems to fly by way to quickly.

This little guy was such a charming little prince for his 6 month portraits! I met up with them at their family farm where we did his newborn session. We did some formal portraits with him wearing his Christening gown and some outdoors. I just love his expressions and those big blue eyes! I love that big sisters had a turn in the spotlight as well at the end of our session.

I love January for gaining a new focus. As the Holidays end and life slows down just a bit, it is a great time to reflect on the past year and think about personal, business, life goals for the coming year. I am not one to make specific "New Years Resolutions" per say, but I have found it effective to generate a theme for the year that can help me focus on business and personal goals. You may remember reading this blog post from last year about the theme for 2012 being "Customized". In early January 2013, while running along one of my favorite local paths I came upon this hill that always causes me trouble. It is such a steep incline I can never run up it and always have to stop and walk. I snapped a picture of this hill with my phone and was inspired for my 2013 theme to be "Little Steps" or "Lil' Steps" On a basic level I knew it was going to mean taking little short steps if I ever wanted to be able to run up this hill without stopping. Anything worth achieving is not gained on the first try and often takes multiple attempts. During subsequent runs later I would always remember this motto and take smaller steps toward reaching this trivial goal.

2013 was a year of a lot of life changes. My family was faced with relocating to the Atlanta area. Looking at the whole process it seemed overwhelming, but when given time to work out the details into "Lil' Steps" the process wasn't so daunting. We were granted time in getting a home ready to sell, listed, and sold. We had time to visit the new region to determine the best location for family, schools, and business. During what seemed like a long transition process, I saw the small strides play out in real time for every little detail to align perfectly as we made our move and got settled.

During this year the opportunity arose for me to acquire a new photography business with Spoiled Rotten Photography. I knew it would take time to build a brand new business in a new area. I made lots of little steps to get my foot in the door with a good many local preschools and schools in the Roswell and Alpharetta, GA area this Fall, and continue to grow for Spring 2014.

When planning events for E. Bailey Photography this year "Lil' Steps" was the motivating theme. In January I had prayed for the right cause to come along for me to be able to bless a family with portraits. Charlotte's Story prompted our Lil' Angels promotion. The Spring Lil' Sessions borrowed from the theme. I looked forward to planning sessions for a good many of my Lil' Sprout Baby Members during 2013. After receiving my Professional Certification in 2012 I took the next Lil' Step to further push my skills as a photographer. I entered the International print competition through PPA and had 2 of my 4 images awarded a merit. After attending my first Imaging event 4 years ago I never would have dreamed my images would on display among such amazing talent. Here are my 2 winning images.

This past year I began taking lil' steps towards a healthier lifestyle for my family. I know we still have a long way to go, but we've slowly cut out a lot of the extra fried and processed foods from out diet and replaced with more wholesome choices. I was introduced to and fell in love with Young Living Essential oils that we have begun incorporating as wellness supplements.

So maybe I should have written this blog post back in January 2013 to hold myself accountable, but I prefer to look at the big picture in hind sight and reflect on how events and decisions have successfully played out over the course of the year. I can tell you the theme for 2014 is "Reach." Expect a blog next year about this time how this theme spread across 2014. :)

Thank you for being so loyal to me and allowing me to be able to work your Fall sessions in, during my visits to Birmingham. To new clients in Atlanta... It was such a pleasure to get to visit this family's new home over Thanksgiving and photograph these sweet girls in their own environment. I loved being able to use the details of their home as a backdrop for classic portraits that they will enjoy viewing on their walls for many years to come. With so many amazing sibling and individual images, we were able to design several custom framed wall collections to decorate their new home and a special keepsake album.

I LOVE that this Mom had her Christmas card portraits taken at her house the past two years. We've used different areas of the house and different color palettes for a total different look. Mom did a fabulous job decorating her home for Christmas! So warm and inviting! We both thought we would love the sibling picture taken on the back porch swing the best, but the one on the steps above the family room, won for the front of the Christmas card. I just love the ambiance of the tree in the background with the stockings hung on the mantel, and the fire in the fireplace.

It was a pleasure to get to see and photograph this family again for their Christmas card. I LOVE getting to watch children I've been able to photograph since birth grow up! This little cutie has gotten her mother's beautiful long blond hair within this past year! I adore her cute outfit and matching pigtails. Mom sent me some ideas she had seen that she wanted to replicate for her Christmas card. We were able to find a spot in their neighborhood with beautiful morning sunlight and some trees still hanging on to their leaves in late November.

It was such an honor to be able to get to work with this sweet family this Fall. This is one of my first families to get to work with after moving to Atlanta. Mom has a good eye for art and decorating! You should check out her local art business at Art Haus Originals. I was able to go to their home and see colors and personal decorating style before our session and help build a vision for their session. We had a gorgeous Fall afternoon for their family session at a park I know I will have to visit again! Mom could not remember the last time they had a family picture taken together. It is so important to capture your family at different stages of life, because kids grow up in a blink of an eye! I know these are portraits they will cherish for a long time and enjoy on their walls!

I would like for you to meet some of my newest neighbors. :) Just as my family was on a path that led us to the Atlanta area this past year, "the other Baileys" were on a similar path, as they moved from Buffalo, NY. As we were in the process of finding and settling into a house in Atlanta, my husband's cousin took a job in the area and his family moved to the area, a few houses down, in our same neighborhood non-the-less. Blessings abound! These girls are so full of personality and sweet joy to watch grow up as cousins with my girls.

I had so much fun planning this family's Fall session and Holiday card! It gets harder to top their card from previous years, but I adore how 2013 turned out! They let me know they would be traveling through Atlanta one weekend after a Clemson ballgame so I searched for the perfect setting for something "different." A friend told me about the Peachtree Heights Duck Pond, so I went and checked it out and reserved a spot for us to use the property for our session. We were met with a sunny afternoon and the girls did a great job after traveling in the car.

I enjoyed getting to meet up with this Sweetheart this Fall for her 8 Month session. She was sitting tall and full of personality! She has got to be the cutest baby in a bonnet ever! Love that classic look! Her Mom put together and made the most adorable owl costume for Halloween, so I am glad we were able to capture that memory during her first year. I can't believe her 1st birthday is just right around the corner now!

"Like branches on a tree, our lives may grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one."

It was such a blessing for me to be able to create this 4 generational portrait for a dear friend of mine and her family. It is amazing how friendships are formed over the years and people and places that bring you together. Nicole, who spent most of her life in California, and I met in high school through her cousin. We all enjoyed Nicole's fun loving spirit when she would come visit during the Summers. I came to know her whole family as well and was able to visit them all in California one Summer after high school. After collage we all went separate directions and didn't keep in close contact. This past year time and chance would bring both our families to the same part of the Atlanta area.

While Nicole's mother and grandmother were in town, from CA, to speak at a local women's conference, it was the perfect opportunity to have the 4 ladies get together for a fun generational portrait session. Now living on opposite ends of the country, it is a rare opportunity for all four of them to be together.

Nicole's mother, Dana Carrozza, is one of the founders of the Sacred Selections adoption Organization. You should check out this group and see how they are making it possible for Christians across the country to adopt children. So many amazing stories!

This has to be my favorite wall portrait I was able to deliver in time for Christmas! A framed 24x30 print that will will be passed down to each of the daughters through the years. I can't think of a better treasured heirloom to inherit! (The cell phone picture doesn't do this print justice.)

We met up at the Botanical Gardens in late Summer for Miss. C's 1 year portraits. While we got a couple of cute family shots at the beginning, she was just not into her joyful spirit that day due to a cold coming on. We set up a date for later in the Fall to try again. This time I was able to photograph Miss. C at her own house and in her own environment. She was full of sweet smiles and laughter as we played, ran around the yard, and chased toys in the house. It is so fun to look at the last image on her couch with her newborn/3 month portrait displayed behind her. I LOVE watching babies grow over their first year!
