PipelineStudio 4.3 is a major product release.

New in Release 4.3:

Release 4.3 adds a number of new enhancements and improvements to PipelineStudio, along with a number of resolved issues. A summary of the main changes in this release is provided below:

Enhancements

Added Parallelization to both Gas and Liquid Simulation Control Options: Use Parallelization is an option that instructs the simulator to split up the work amongst all of the logical cores built into the computer. For larger configurations, this option can result in faster simulation times. It should also be noted that use of the option can slow down the simulation because the overhead of managing the cores takes more time than the savings on the actual calculation; hence the default is to NOT use.
Added Young’s modulus and Thermal Expansion to the Gas Pipe | General tab: You can now enter the Young’s modulus and thermal expansion coefficient for a Gas pipe. These coefficients are used by the simulator to calculate the pipe wall expansion due to the fluid pressure and temperature. This allows modelling of pipe wall expansion for pipes made of any material. The calculated diameter of the pipe is shown in a pipe output property and is also provided in output reports, and as a pipe profile.
New User Defined Logic (UDL) features:: The new UDL features can be found in the PipelineStudio User Defined Logic User Guide under the section titled Enhanced UI and Diagnostics Techniques.

New in Release 4.2:

Release 4.2 adds a number of new enhancements and improvements to PipelineStudio, along with a number of resolved issues. A summary of the main changes in this release is provided below:

Enhancements

Surveys for Gas simulation: Gas simulations can now make use of survey information for accurate elevation profile.
Node elevations for Liquid simulation: Elevation choices for liquid models have now been complimented with the option to simplify the profile and add elevation data only at the nodes.
ISO curve for compressor: ISO compressor curves can now be displayed for centrifugal compressor types.
Compressor bank updates: Compressor banks have been upgraded to include new station and control options.
Thermal Model Improvements: The thermal model used in PipelineStudio has received a significant upgrade.
Profile enhancements: Pipeline profiles have a number of new options available such as the ability to save templates.
Enable and disable scripts: If using user defined logic in the simulation this now may toggled on and off to ensure you are getting the best performance.
Network License Manager Update: The network license manager has been updated.

Full support for RuptureSentinel – The industry’s newest solution for protecting lives, assets, and the environment against the very worst cases that a pipeline operator can face. RuptureSentinel allows you to reliably and robustly detect ruptures and large leaks fast. Its unique combination of pattern recognition and statistical analysis gives you fast, reliable detection of ruptures and large leaks, no matter the operating conditions. RuptureSentinel tells you when your pipeline conditions are abnormal, with no uncertainty. RuptureSentinel is a standalone product that also runs fully integrated into the PipelineManager suite of applications. RuptureSentinel is licensed separately. OPC DA Mirror Server: The OPC DA Mirror Server can be useful in many different scenarios to solve communication challenges; The Mirror Server acts as an intermediary between OPC DA Client(s) and an OPC DA Server, or acts as a ‘Virtual Server’ bridge between multiple OPC DA Clients. The Mirror Server also comes with a powerful dynamic calculation engine, allowing you to define your own custom alias tags and transform OPC data in real-time.
